Oh my Goodness. Weighed in today and I am officially 3 stone down.
Start weight on 30th May was 13 stone 12.
Today I’m 10 stone 12.
I cried.

SunandMoor · 12/11/2025 21:09

@MissMogs have you tried a heaped teaspoon of Flaxseed in yogurt or on weetabix as a daily routine? I have found that worked for me and then stopped using it after a week and I have been fine.

MissMogs · 12/11/2025 21:24

Thank you @waitingforlifeonmars@SecretIrnBruDrinker@SunandMoor

I am still in 2 minds over the supplements…tempted by the collagen as I have loose skin but everything I’ve read suggests it doesn’t do much! Also a bit worried the magnesium might interact with other meds I’m on 😭

seeds is a good idea but I’m not sure I’d like the “gritty” texture in my lively smooth yoghurt!

You should definitely consult medical advice if you are on other treatments re magnesium. I took collagen for years, didn’t do much, you need an awful lot to be beneficial- best trying to incorporate food it’s in into your diet, or foods that boost collagen production.

Crinklecat · 13/11/2025 06:53

My visceral fat is still 16 (slowly down from 21) and my BMI is 33. If anyone else has scales that measure that please could you tell me how I compare? I’ve lost weight pretty much all over but don’t have the shape I used to have pre weight gain and my tummy seems boxy, which I’m thinking is likely due to the visceral fat?

Crinklecat · 13/11/2025 06:55

@MissMogs I’ve been taking collagen (when i remember) and it’s definitely made my nails longer and stronger, I’m not sure about my skin though

RussianDoll76 · 13/11/2025 07:31

@crinklecatmy scales say bmi is now 27.9 and visceral fat is 10 . It was just below 13 when I was around 12.7 stone and bmi 31.5 , this is when I purchased the scales so not long term results . Hope that helps anyway !

Crinklecat · 13/11/2025 07:46

@RussianDoll76 thank you, I do think mines quite high

healthjourney · 13/11/2025 08:41

@Crinklecatmine dropped to 8 this week which I was super happy to see and my bmi is about 26.5 now. My Visceral fat was 12 when I bought the scales with a bmi just over 30. It seems to have dropped around 1 point per month, similar rate of change to my bmi. it just feels slower as there are no decimals, so it just said 9 for a whole month until yesterday when suddenly it says 8. I have no idea how accurate it is but I figure it seems to be fairly consistent and doesn't fluctuate weirdly. Im sure you will see your continue to improve, well done on the progress so far

Crinklecat · 13/11/2025 12:23

@healthjourney @RussianDoll76 thank you both, can I ask your fat percentage? Mine is 40.5%, just wondering if my visceral fat is in proportion

Mine was 35 now 31 so also dropping at pretty much the same rate as bmi and visceral fat. I think your stats sound very similar to mine would have been earlier in my journey, I just didn't buy the fancy scales until more recently.

RussianDoll76 · 13/11/2025 14:13

@Crinklecatit was 38.9 when I got the scales and it is now 34.1 .
I must say I find it all quite confusing I feel better in myself but the stats aren’t so kind 😂. My body age is 5 yrs older than I am.
As for the me 360’ app after losing 2 stone all my measurements went up 🤯.

Librariesrule · 13/11/2025 15:37

Another pound off today making a total of 2st 4lb since June. 😀

Crinklecat · 13/11/2025 15:52

My body age is 7 years older 😭 and it went up on my birthday which makes me question how reliable it is (I’m using this excuse anyway!)

Mynewusersame · 13/11/2025 18:24

V interesting to read about all your fancy scales and the fat %. I’m planning to join my local gym in the new year and I know they have similar so I can start tracking that rather than focus so much on weight.

I’d ordered a pair of size 12 jeans on Vinted to slim into and they arrived today and fit perfectly! I’m getting v tempted to switch to maintenance sooner rather than later as I’m honestly so happy with current size and can’t quite believe it!

SW 15.4
CW 11.7
GW was getting to a healthy BMI, and 10.4 would give me a nice round 5 stone loss and BMI 24.6…

How are others deciding when to switch to maintenance? Im planning to stay on MJ for at least another year and happy to plan to be on it for life. I’m still on 5mg so lucky it’s not crazy expensive. It’s so hard to know when to stop and I have really found the weight loss addictive if I’m honest. Will be strange to be wanting scale to stay the same and not keep going down.

HappyWineDay · 14/11/2025 07:06

Well, Friday weigh day and this morning my BMI is 24.9 which I reckon is the first time in my adult life that it’s been “healthy”, over 40 years!
I’ve now lost 3st 8lb.
My weight had been on a plateau for a few weeks so last week I went up to 10mg and it seems to have done the trick. Another 3 or 4 lb will see me moving to maintenance I think.
@Mynewusersame yes, it will be v strange wanting the scales to read the same and not go down. I’m not quite there yet though, and I’m going on holiday for a week next week!

FoxRedPuppy · 14/11/2025 09:43

Another plateau for me again. I'm not even moving by 0.1 of a kg! But I'm only 1kg from my original GW of 65kg. I had moved by new Goal to 60kg, but I'm not sure. I'm happy at this weight, I can actually see the outline of my ribs above my floppy boobs! And I can feel my spine on my back. I got my first "don't lose more weight" this week, from my mum!

I feel a bit weird about moving to maintenance. I'm currently on 7.5mg, so need to work out a plan. I'm going to go slowly as I never ever want to be fat again!

Mynewusersame · 14/11/2025 10:15

@HappyWineDay incredible! That must feel like such an achievement. I think that makes sense. I certainly want a buffer that allows for holidays etc. to go up a few pounds. Enjoy your holiday!
@FoxRedPuppy maybe your body has also decided it’s very happy too! 😊I’m the same. If someone had told me last year I could be happy with my weight for £200 a month I would have thought it was the deal of the century! I know we have all done the hard work alongside MJ but it really makes me feel like this is the way my body is supposed to work. Just eat a little less, move a bit more, and you can lose weight! How many of us have metabolic things going on that MJ just fixes for us.

Crinklecat · 14/11/2025 14:04

I’m hoping I’ve finally broken this month long plateau. It’s only 0.8lbs less than it was nearly a month ago but at least it’s in the right direction. And after my comments about visceral fat yesterday it’s finally gone down 1 more to 15

LadyClumber · 14/11/2025 15:34

For those of you who are at or near maintenance - are you including a buffer zone for weight fluctuations? If so, how wide is your buffer zone?

I was thinking about half a stone, so 3lbs above and below my target

SomethingAboutYou · 14/11/2025 19:03

I've also dropped a tiny amount after a plateau, 0.6lb down yesterday and stayed the same today, taking me unto the 13st bracket 🎉 hoping to drop another 1.5lb before the Christmas parties begin so I'll be 13st 12lb with a bit of a buffer space so any xmas gain might not be too far into 14stone.

I'm not sure if I'm being stupid but I think I'm going to stop for a few weeks when my 5mg pen finishes next week. I have a 2.5mg pen in the fridge but I don't know if my body will feel any benefit from it if I drop from 5mg. So was thinking maybe a 3 week gap would allow me to start again on 2.5mg and then I won't need to buy a new pen until January. It's just so expensive right now and I'm finding it hard to part with over £150 when I've got kids gifts to buy 😒

waitingforlifeonmars · 15/11/2025 07:05

All the NSV and weight losses are amazing.

Got back from holiday, weighed more than when I left by only 3lbs, so I felt that was a win, even though we were walking approx 8 miles per day, which is a huge difference from my sedentary normal life. Ive stuck to 5 mg since back and trying to move my jab day back to Sunday.
I think I need to up my dosage and I don’t want to- I feel a bit of a failure at the moment, could be post holiday blues, for needing to and not being able to control my eating without it as a crutch - but let’s face it, if I didn’t need it, I wouldn’t have got so big in the first place!! Also, it doesn’t help, as previous posters have pointed out also, that I was shocked at how fat I still look in the holiday photos! Serious body dysmorphia, which I don’t know why I couldn’t figure out because I know my size in clothes, I know my weight and bmi, so why did I expect to look a size 12 in the photos!!!
Still using 5mg from a 7.5mg pen, to help reduce costs, and think I might up to 6mg to see if that helps curb the food noise and gets me feeling full again!
After the Asda debacle, I am using Swift, who live up to their name. I did notice though, Asda on trustpilot went from a 1.9 rating when I left my 1 star review to over 4 stars in the space of a few weeks- am wondering how!!!

FoxRedPuppy · 15/11/2025 10:50

@waitingforlifeonmars well done on holiday! I think walking doesn’t always shift weight like we are led to believe.

I’ve used Asda from start and never had an issue. I like being able to collect in person, I get over anxious about deliveries! I think I’ll stay with them into maintenance.

I’ on 7.5, I started with 6 and moved up. I’ve got two more from this pen and then I’ll decide whether to do another month of 7.5, or move down to 5 and attempt maintenance.

LadyClumber · 15/11/2025 11:10

Well done on all the wins!!

@HappyWineDay - I hadn’t thought of a buffer that straddled my target weight. I was thinking 7lbs under my target weight but, as I am a ‘shortie’, I am worried that I would be too thin. I think for me it will be a psychological challenge to be happy with being a weight higher than my target weight. I am currently 5lbs below my target weight so am starting maintenance. I never went above 5mg so thinking that I will stay on 5mg until after Xmas to manage my addiction to carbs and then slowly titrate down while increasing calories with protein.
