So what a mounjaro day I’ve ordered another 7.5 (wanted 10 but Asda have no stock ) so have 7.5 ready to start Sunday jab day and another on the way then If it goes like they say I’ll be out shame but can’t justify the price increase. I guess it’s a wait and see thing.

CheeryGoldLion · 15/08/2025 19:41

Thanks for the new thread

Xmasfairy86 · 15/08/2025 20:11

Don’t think I can justify spending anymore than I am really 🤔😫 I’ll see what happens, will order my next pen soon and might have to call it a day

SunandMoor · 15/08/2025 21:39

@Xmasfairy86 might be worth looking at Wegovy? People on that lost 15% on average versus 20 on MJ so it’s still a successful option? I am considering it depending on what happens once the panic has died down.

Xmasfairy86 · 15/08/2025 22:28

I did just read something about that @SunandMoor - definitely something to consider. not sure my will power is up to cold turkey 😝

Sam187 · 15/08/2025 23:39

Just found the new thread. The old one was so quiet I thought you had all abandoned me 😂.

After a busy few weeks I maintained for 2 and managed a lb off again today. Have felt a little less suppression on 3.75mg the last few weeks, so going up to 5mg on Monday. Hoping that kick starts me again. Ordered 2 pens from Asda today but unsure if they'll fulfil for a new customer now. Brutal!

MissMogs · 16/08/2025 06:53

Disheartened this morning. My weight has fluctuated through the week throughout this journey, but generally the direction is overall downwards. However this week despite dropping a kilo early in the week, it’s crept back up again so I’ve ended the week exactly the same as I started. I don’t think it’s a problem with the dose as I only started 7.5 this week (did 6.66 bonus dose last week) and suppression has been good.
i know I need to trust the process, and maybe this is a sticking weight for me (disappointing at about 95kg for 5ft2!) but having just panic bought an extra 3 pens (only one approved so far), and felt I’ve stuck to it and not given in to many temptations all week such as ice creams with the kids on such hot days, it’s so crushing.

healthjourney · 16/08/2025 07:12

Morning everyone, I hope nobody is too stressed out by the price news and stock issues and that you can all still have a great weekend.
Im glad it's cooled off a bit after the last few days 🥵 makes the prospect of a workout and a long walk later far more appealing.
I've managed to lose 2.5lbs this week for a total of 23.5 gone in 10 weeks. I made a big effort to reduce my alcohol last weekend and increase my steps a bit more o average over 11k which I think has made a big difference.
I ordered my next pen and I decided to go for 5mg but I'm still happy with the 2.5 dose for now, I just thought it gave me to option to increase if/when I want to.

RatherTardy · 16/08/2025 07:55

Morning.
Thank you for the new thread.

I've lost 2 of the 3lb i put on over the holidays.
Starting weight 15 stone on 10th june, although true starting weight was 15.5 at end of may.
CW 14.1
I REALLY want to break the 14 stone barrier
Although it's going down every week (holiday blip aside), I don't feel that I look very different.
I'm drinking too much (which i do in the summer because I work in schools), but I know it needs to stop.
Gutted about the price increases.
Ordered a new pen this week, and will order 1 or 2 more by the end of August
All 4 of my exercise instructors are on holiday this week. Selfish bastards!

Xmasfairy86 · 16/08/2025 08:52

As soon as the temp increases my dedication for the gym flies out the window 😂😂 haven’t been since Sunday, will usually have been at least twice so far. Will try and go later and tomorrow so I don’t get behind with my plan - maybe 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

Has anyone done the switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy? How was it?

Tinybirdie · 16/08/2025 09:26

Definitely trust the process MissMogs. I had 2 weeks of virtually no loss and then a 2lb loss this week. Its hard not to be disappointed but weight loss is never linear!
Im interested in experiences of Wegovy too. Still angry at the news about the price hike. Its the same old story, those with money can.

Itsjunedeer · 16/08/2025 09:46

Happy Saturday everyone 😎 well done on all the losses and to all of us non movers, well done for sticking with it 💪🏻
Still unsure whether Monday’s sickness was food related ( I get very few SE usually) but thankfully it seems to have been an isolated incident.
I have my niece staying at the moment and it has meant cooking and then eating more substantial meals than I have had in the past couple of months. I have said I am watching my weight but not that I’m on MJ. I will be glad when she is heading home and I can go back to salad, salad and more salad 😁

Still 15st 11lbs this morning so STS. Had a bit of a try on of some things in my ‘ too tight to wear’ wardrobe and some are feeling and looking better so that’s been a boost. Next significant target is seeing a number on the scales that starts with 14.

Have a fabulous weekend, whatever you are doing 👍

SunandMoor · 16/08/2025 09:50

I know someone who did her whole weight loss journey with Wegovy and she thought it was fantastic. It has the same GLP 1 as MJ in that it tells your brain you are not hungry and slows down gastric emptying however where it differs is that MJ uses a second hormone called GIP which regulates blood sugar and metabolism and together they appear to speed up weight loss. MJ is an American brand Wegovy is Danish. I’m not a doctor by the way! Just did a bit of research myself as if the price become ridiculous I may switch.

BoredReceptionist · 16/08/2025 10:04

I’m 12 weeks into Mounjaro now, this was my first week with no loss which I’m a bit gutted about. In total I’ve lost 1st 9 so far, from 15st 1 down to 13st 6. My realistic goal weight is 11st although the BMI chart wants me to drop to 10. I’m doing a lot of exercise, a mix now of brisk walking and strength training. I don’t know what I’m going to do when the price goes up. I managed to order a 5mg pen for just over £100 from Simple which in theory could give me 10 2.5 doses, I’ve stuck with 2.5 as it’s still keeping the food noise at bay for me. I’m going to try and get another before September 1st but beyond that I’ve no idea! Wegovy reduces hunger but doesn’t affect food noise, is my understanding, and it’s the latter which is my biggest issue.

MissMogs · 16/08/2025 11:03

Gutted, Pharmacy2U have cancelled my panic orders. Looks like I have no choice but to pay more in September!

finalpunt · 16/08/2025 11:58

Just checking in with the new thread. Have 7lbs to go to hit GW. One dose left in current 5mg pen and new 5mg pen ready. Was looking to switch to wegovy to maintain (mainly so don't have to change hrt because trying to get gp app is so stressful) if prices do increase this makes it more likely.
Because im only doing 3.75, hoping I get to GW before pens run out.

Focusispower · 16/08/2025 16:00

I pay close to the list price for my pens - my provider seems really expensive compared to some prices quoted here! I wonder if that’s because they are happy to prescribe off recommendation? I have a 5mg pen that I will start this week (but at a lower dosage as I’m still losing well at 2.5mg) and then I plan to order a 2.5mg pen to keep in reserve, but otherwise I am done. I’m 7lb off goal weight too @finalpunt and not on HRT but think I need it because I am really struggling with my moods, cycles are short and brain is just not working like it used to. I’m 45 so right at that point in life I think….

One thing I’ve found with MJ is that my gut health is so much better - rarely bloated, never flatulent and regular - prior to starting I was constantly uncomfortable! I’m hoping that I don’t return to this if I stop but I don’t think I could be on WLI for maintenance as I’ve lost so much on the lowest dose as I’ve just lost all interest in food!

You have reminded me how bad my flatulence was before being on this - somehow I had blocked it out! And bad IBS - of an explosive nature. 😳😟
Kind of hoping it might have miraculously resolved (or that my improved diet will prevent it returning) but that may be wishful thinking.
I was late injecting this week and then had a weird aversion to doing it so left it a further few days. Hunger and food noise returned with a vengeance, as did some of my bad habits, which was disappointing, but hopefully will make me appreciate more how much MJ is helping me. It has also brought my high blood pressure right down into the normal range. Will try to stay on and make the most of it until Christmas, some of which will be maintenance as I am only a few (very slow) pounds away from my target weight now.

Hey all,

Not checked in for ages- back to work after a long Summer off has been a bit mad, & youngest back to school.

Feeling a bit deflated hearing of all the really great losses. I know I need to trust the process, but I've totally stalled. Stayed the same, then put ON a pound, then stayed the same. So frustrating. It's as if since I started 3.75mg I've really not lost!

I wonder if it's because I'm not eating enough? I'm not calorie counting, but maybe I should start again. I'm having the strangest feelings about food- now seem to want chocolate/ unhealthy stuff like bread/ crisps, but after a few bites I don't want it anymore. Nothing seems to hit the spot except for cheese😀.

I'm a really healthy eater normally & that was the same on 2.5mg. It's really weird.

Any advice.

Don’t worry, weight always fluctuates up and down but over the weeks the trend will be downwards. Don’t be disappointed, it’ll be fine!

Odd NSV for me last night. I was going to a dinner dance so got myself all kitted up. I’ve lost a couple of stone now so it was no surprise that my usual DJ was too big and I had to dust off an old one that hadn’t seen daylight for many years.
The surprise came when I had to tie the laces on my shiny black shoes. They were ridiculously loose, the laced instep was almost overlapping.
Have I really lost weight from my feet?! 😂

Ha I found the same thing the other day! My trainers were suspiciously baggy 🤣 Can’t wait to try on my too-tight summer sandals when I get home from holidays. Well done!

Hey @Puffalicious, I feel exactly the same since 3.75mg. I have maintained (although albeit through a busy period) then finally got 1lb off this week. Stepping up to 5mg tomorrow to see if that kick starts things again. Trust the process n all that ☺️

Thanks for this. I felt deflated all yesterday, which of course led to me eating more for lunch and dinner. This is the point I would definitely have fallen off the wagon on a normal diet! Then randomly despite eating a full roast last night I seem to have dropped weight this morning! I’ve fluctuated all week but yesterday was back up to where I was last Saturday, then this morning I’m 0.9kg down from that! Maybe I wasn’t eating enough? I don’t count calories because our portions are never precise and we cook from scratch for the family, but I hadn’t been eating much of my main meals all week. Do you think my body freaked out and held onto the weight, and only now I’ve eaten decently again has it felt happy to lose it? Someone with more sciencey knowledge please help! 😆
