Any opinions… would it be silly to buy a dress now that I hope to fit into for the run up to Christmas? It’s only from Vinted but is £35 as it’s a very nice dress. It’s a size 14, but the measurements given make it small for that size. Although I’m wearing some size 14 things at the moment they are on the larger side of that size and somewhat stretchy. I can’t decide if it will fit, or maybe even I’ll miss the window and it might end up too big?? Or maybe that’s wishful thinking.

If you really like it, get it!

Although I must be a tightwad as I've never spent more than £7 for a dress on Vinted.

What brand is it, for £35?

I vote go for it. Its a lovely goal to aim for, and you can always resell it afterwards.

I normally only spend a few pounds on Vinted, but this dress is everything that I like and would be perfect for a few events I will be going to. It’s nothing super fancy, it’s Phase Eight and a proper cocktail dress. Not the normal jersey stretch type of thing I usually go for! I guess it would have been around £100 plus new.

Billybingbong · 04/08/2025 20:47

I bought myself a lovely Monsoon dress off Vinted last week in the hope it might fit me in a month or two (it was size 20, and I'm currently a 22, but it was only £2). Well it only bloody fits!! I wore it to work today, and felt a million dollars

I feel a bit hungrier today and yesterday. Hopefully it's just a blip! I have my graduation in just under 3 months and I've been looking at dresses and am disappointed by what I've seen so far...one beautiful dress but it only goes up to a 20 and Im in a 26. Started getting thoughts of wishing I'd started sooner and how can I lose enough weight in the time....a slippery slope to dangerous thoughts!

Take a look at Live Unlimited, I bought a lovely dress in their outlet size 26 for this summer and I feel really good in it. Also New Look do nice dresses, I’ve bought a lovely pale pink one in a 24 from Vinted.

I don't know either. Who are you with?

I've just looked at Medino's price list and a 7.5mg pen is £135.

Edited

I've been pharmacy hopping, but I really like pharmacy express and will stick with them. It's £134.95 for a 7.5mg.

And there are similarly priced and cheaper options on monj.

SilenceInside · 04/08/2025 21:12

That’s wonderful that it fitted you already @Billybingbong and an absolute bargain for £2. I think I’m going to get the dress, and if/when it fits I might be brave enough to post a before and after picture here…

I started on Mounjaro this time last year after seeing pictures of myself at a family event where I had to wear a smart dress. I had to get a (stretchy) size 24 dress, which I only chose as the least worst option from what was available online. I felt so awkward and uncomfortable that day, and just so cross with myself the whole day for being the size I was. I was quite distressed really afterwards and that spurred me on to look into the injections. It would be amazing to get a dress in a standard size that I actually like, and feel good about wearing, just a year or so later.

If you love it get it for sure, but in 4 months of average weightloss you could be two stone down and be more like a size 10, depending what your end goal is. If it were me, 16 weeks would be about half a stone down which would make little difference size wise so I would go for it.

I feel as though I’m having a whoosh at the moment! I seem to have lost 4lbs since last week, although I’m on holiday. My mum’s house does have a lot of stairs!!…

I have everything crossed for WI on Wednesday!!

I was also going to recommend a Live Unlimited dress. Their stuff is really nice…

Quitepossibly · 04/08/2025 21:56

I'm now very definitely in the teens! (Almost got there a couple of weeks ago, but then my weight loss hit a plateau). It's a loss of 1.5 stone since I started on 22nd May. Still much, much more to lose, but feeling pleased with how it's going.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 04/08/2025 22:42

I vote yes too @SilenceInside, but it could be too big rather than too small by the time you get to wear it! I’m thinking of doing something similar and want to look for a size 14, but I’m probably being over ambitious whereas you are being over cautious 😆

Iwouldratherbesinging · 04/08/2025 22:46

I pay £164.95 for 15mg, how ever much will the 15mg cost through Bupa? That’s a huge profit margin there.

I fly with jet2 later this week- am currently hovering around 20 stone, not sure of measurements which might be more useful but wondering if anyone has been a similar size (I'm 5ft 7in, carry most weight around middle) and flown with jet2 and can advise on whether I should expect to need a seat belt extender or not? I'm mainly bothered about my kids noticing 😕 Anyone got any recent experience?

I flew Jet2 in November and at 19st 13lbs and 5ft 1, I didnt need an extender (also carry most of my weight round the middle). So hopefully you should be okay.
It's always Easyjet that I feel I need an extender.
Enjoy your holiday!

Thanks for your reply @Daschy16 that's reassuring 😊

I've flown Jet2 twice this year and didn't need a seat belt extender either time (but only had an inch or two spare). The first time I weighed 22 stone 9 pounds, and the second time 21 stone 9 pounds. Im 5ft 7.5inches. I think you'll be fine.

OvertiredandConfused · 05/08/2025 15:44

I’m seeing some hair loss (not too bad and I have very thick hair anyway) and a doctor colleague (not my doctor or prescriber) had already said supplements would be a good idea.

Can I ask what supplements people are taking? I’m guessing collagen. And maybe vitamin B? Iron levels are okay. Would really appreciate precise recommendations as I’m finding it a bit overwhelming!

TheBeesTrees · 05/08/2025 15:59

Thank you @Kay2000 and @TragicMuse I'll check Live Unlimited out!
@UsernameShmusername2024 just to say that the airlines cut the ends of the seatbelts off when they fray so even if you do need one it isnt necessarily down to your size, sometimes even midsize people have needed them as well. Also, I found asking for one as I went in the door of the plane and they're standing there to greet you easier and more discreet than asking once seated. If you end up not needing it then perfect and you can either tell them, or store it in the mesh pocket. I was with aer lingus but when it was passed to me it was done very discreetly and wasn't a big issue, so it should be fine!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 05/08/2025 16:54

Weigh day for me today and I can officially say that I am in the 12s!! 12st 13lbs to be precise, I have no memory of ever being 12 stone something so this is definitely unknown territory!!

TragicMuse · 05/08/2025 17:40

That is wonderful @Iwouldratherbesinging! Well done!

I am WI tomorrow…

PearlsPearl · 05/08/2025 17:45

I'm so happy for you, @Iwouldratherbesinging 😍

I am having a hungry few days. I did my first 3.75 on Sun so assumed I'd be less hungry this week but nope. I know people say the early days suppression wears off but I'd have liked it longer, the first 10 weeks were a breeze. Now, I can resist eating much easier than ever before but still feel hungry.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 05/08/2025 18:14

@PearlsPearl do you mean you actually feel hungry or you just want to eat as you think you’re hungry? I was scared of feeling hungry in the early days but it’s really nothing to be scared of, a large drink or some fruit gets rid of hunger if I’m not due to have a meal any time soon, if I’m hungry and it’s a mealtime then I’m full quite quickly. You need to think of hunger as your body needing nutrition. I still get suppression, it usually lasts from the day after I jab and carries on for 3 or 4 days, but again every one is so different x

MontysMissus · 05/08/2025 18:23

What is everyone's average daily calorie intake? Im currently taking in around 1100 calories a day, according to MyFitnessPal, and I worry that its not enough. However, I'm struggling to eat much more and I really want to do this in a sensible and sustained way. Any thoughts?
Just about to start week 3 of 2.5mg
