Almost at the end of 19 weeks and finally weigh in kg what I wish I weighed in pounds (140). In real life I'll be happy at 175 pounds (12stone 7). But on the downwards slope at least. This month has taken FOREVER to break the 140kg barrier.

Oh gosh, so many replies, I don't know how to cite all the names, sorry.

I seem to have accidentally drip fed but I don't know if I should keep pointing out that the majority of my excess weight is caused by lipoedema, which I have reached a late and advanced stage. Maybe I should change my username to something like "LipoedemaMounjaro" as a permanent label.

I've watched a few videos about MJ and lipoedema and they are all favourable, partly because the injections reduce inflammation, and partly because it makes it easier to stick to an anti-inflammatory, very low carb diet by reducing the appetite and the urge to want snacks which are on the banned list like chocolate and crisps.

I must also have some normal fat in the parts of me unaffected by lipoedema, and am hoping to lose that.

Don’t forget you’ll have fat around every internal organ and it is this which impacts our health the most. According to my physio, I’ve also lost weight that I can’t see, across my back, flab under my bra line, around my shoulders. But the health impact of losing internal fat shouldn’t be discounted. And yes, MJ definitely has an anti inflammatory effect. I noticed a reduction in swelling in my ankles and pain in my knees almost immediately. I have severe osteoarthritis all over which is limiting my mobility and ability to exercise but I’m finding swimming and walking in the swimming pool easier too, with a quicker recovery rate.

I also don’t have a banned list of food as I wanted to get away from the all or nothing diet mentality, and MJ is a miracle for that. I now have bars of nice chocolate in the cupboard and if I fancy something sweet, I have a square - ONE SQUARE!! Which would have been impossible before MJ, I’d not be able to control the urge to keep going back and eating it. It dials that food noise down and makes it possible to eat well long term.

PositiveAttitude · 26/08/2025 09:40

Today is my 2 month anniversary of starting MJ and I am 2 stone lighter!!
I am quite chuffed.

When I started I was convinced I was going to be the person that it didn't work for, the one who failed, once again!!!
I know it is early days still and sometimes those thoughts still invade my head, but I can see it IS working.

I hope everyone is doing ok, wherever you are on your journey.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 26/08/2025 09:52

I am 16 weeks in and after a major plateau in August things are finally moving again. I am at the weight all my failed diet attempts in the past 5ish years have ended at, so really trying to focus on pushing on and breaking new ground. I did have mental fatigue about the whole thing but I guess only natural as this is about when I’d give up on any weigh loss attempt, and also my body is very used to being this weight I guess.

I seem to have picked up a ‘back to school’ reset mentality this past week and am going to refocus on the hydration, protein and exercise. I am gradually inching my way up to 5mg after awful side affects, similar to @PearlsPearl . 4.25mg has been very effective this week so will stick here a bit I think.

My stomach is still really sore on and off though and I haven’t been able to pinpoint why really, doesn’t feel like acid, not pinpointed any trigger foods. It’s fine when I sit down but really sore in the upper abdominal area when I stand. I have googled all the gallstone/pancreas symptoms and they don’t resonate. Tried the whole gamut of nexium, gavison, pesto bismol, peppermint tea, windeez etc.

i put in my next pen order with IQ doctor on Friday to try and get one more pen at lower prices, i had a dispatch email yesterday which I wasn’t expecting on the bank hol, hopefully it’ll come today.

well done on all the NSV - the towel going all the way round is one I am looking forward to!

ladyinwaiting99 · 26/08/2025 10:27

That’s brilliant @PositiveAttitudewell done, I think it’s fairly common to worry that you’ll be the one it doesn’t work for. I love threads like this one for giving me inspiration.

At the beginning of the summer holiday (I’m a teacher) I set myself a goal of losing a stone over the summer. I’ve just weighed myself today and I’ve achieved that.
Partly MJ which I started two weeks ago but also partly the adjustments I made to my diet (low carb, high fibre, protein and water) to prepare to go in MJ.

I just hope I can keep it up once I’m back in school.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 26/08/2025 10:41

NSV today: had to park the car in a car park in a very tight spot, and was able to get out of the door and past the car next to me without hesitation.

I mean, in the past I'd have given up and parked elsewhere, but there was plenty of room (between two cars) for my body today.

TragicMuse · 26/08/2025 12:16

I felt like I was struggling last week and over the weekend - low suppression for one thing.

but today I feel more ‘normal’ again! No desire to hoover up the mini-cheddars and mini-rolls in the office!

It’s a bloody rollercoaster innit!!

Anyway. I have the BEST cottage cheese for lunch, yum! And that always cheers me up.

Onwards and downwards Losers!

Lds1 · 26/08/2025 13:30

Weighed myself after a weekend away, I've put on 1.2kg so I'm back to obese again!

I ate sensibly but not the best, more bread than usual but not excessive like the old days. I'm hoping getting back to my usual sleep and hydration will help it come back off again quickly.

I am hoping my new pharmacy come through with the pens I have on order, they're supposed to be delivered on Friday but not yet approved :/

PearlsPearl · 26/08/2025 13:34

@TragicMuse Longley Farm? 😋

PearlsPearl · 26/08/2025 13:34

@TragicMuse Longley Farm? 😋

Absolutely! 🙂

If I can’t get it I resort to own brand but it’s not even in the same world!

Motnight · 26/08/2025 14:19

Finally got my zava order approved 10 days after I placed it. Due for delivery by the end of the week. Have immediately put in an order for another 2 pens. If approved this will take me up to mid December, by which time I hope that the madness around pricing and availability will have settled down.

Doggymummar · 26/08/2025 14:26

Longley farm is the best I can eat it by the spoonful. With grated black pepper yum. I put it in most things, my partner says my mashed potato looks like sick but it's so yum.

Oh forgot to mention gained four this week. First time I have gained so much since I started in 2023. That's what not being able to choose what you eat does. Will probably take me two months to lose !

SilenceInside · 26/08/2025 15:16

@Motnight will Zava let you order more pens straightaway? I have just had my order with Asda approved thankfully, almost immediately after submitting photos for them. I was wondering about ordering again with them this week, before 1st Sept to get one more 10mg pen. But, are there any drawbacks with that, I wonder? They are fulfilled by Zava so I guess will be similar in how they operate.

And, it has been 11 days since I actually ordered with Asda, and another 2 or 3 before the pen will be delivered, so ordering again doesn't seem like it would too soon?

Motnight · 26/08/2025 15:23

I'm not sure @SilenceInside. I agree re timescales seeming reasonable. I'll let you know what happens!

Motnight · 26/08/2025 15:24

Oh just to add zava did let me place the order, and the money is pending from my account....

SilenceInside · 26/08/2025 15:39

I can answer my own question… Asda will only let me order a 2.5mg pen as they are saying that everything else is out of stock until September. So that’s a no go. At least I got one more pen at the lower prices, so I’m good for 10 more weeks which gets me into November.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 26/08/2025 15:55

My Chemist 4U bundle of 2 x 15mg pens is now progressing.

That's been ten days, but at least we're getting there.

CheqUp have dispatched my Wegovy 2.4mg (their highest dose) so I'll give it a go when it arrives.

That's annoying @SilenceInside. We're you a new customer with Asda?

OvertiredandConfused · 26/08/2025 17:09

Do I stay at 10mg or go up to 12.5mg?

In all the pricing and supply madness I did one more appointment with my lovely but expensive private GP as I had no plan b and no weeks in hand. She recommended going up to 12.5mg because I'd stalled for a few weeks. I ordered two pens to beat the price rise and now have them.

However, I have started to loose again and suppression this week is high. I've got my weight verification with Oushk shortly and I need to decide whether to then order another 10mg and save the two 12.5mg (valid until January) or do a switch at 12.5mg. If I switch at 10mg, is it easy to go up with Oushk?

Thank you

Is anyone else having trouble with BT mail?
It's not loading on my app.
I know this is nothing to do with this thread.
🤣

A NSV which is a bit psychological.

I am used to buying from the plus sized shops and when the clothes would be delivered they would just sit in the bag by my bed whilst I put off trying them on, just because I knew I didn't really look very nice, regardless of what I bought. Right until it was close to return date, I'd begrudgingly try them on. the whole situation would just be a bit sad.

I called my sister in tears on the phone. I fit into a size 18 jeans

A SIZE 18!!!!!!

In December I was a size 28. I genuinely can't believe it. I'm so thin 😂

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 26/08/2025 18:55

Oh @mamabeeboo that brought tears to my eyes.

I do remember knowing that I didn't really look very nice in size 26 clothes.

Now that I'm a size 12, it seems like a lifetime ago. It was actually 19 months ago.

Well done on your size 18s!

WafflingDreamer · 26/08/2025 19:01

NSV today brought size 18 underwear, 16-18 PJs and 36F bra and they all bloody fit! I also got a 38E bra just incase I couldn't get into the 36 and I could do it up on the tightest fitting. I was wearing a size 22/24 and a 44G bra this time last year! I genuinely can't believe I fit in a 'normal' size bra.

Amazing, we were talking about that at home today. Well done you.
