@Elle771 I also bought Allbran and raspberries today!

@afaloren it’s an amazing feeling when you’re finally on the chart isn’t it! I think we can only happily broadcast that on this thread, well done you!

nice to have you with us @SaltAirAndTheRust, you’ve done so well! I think we are all feeling a little deflated at the moment 😔 but yes we have to keep on as the alternative doesn’t bare thinking about.

yay @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne, bloody brilliant, I can hear that klaxon! 🎉🎉🎉 and @MummyInTheNecropolis its sounding for you too!

@mamabeeboo the world is full of f**ked up attitudes, it was cruel, belittling and humiliating and it ‘fed’ the haters of fat people.

Re constipation - I can’t take psyllium husk, it makes my constipation worse! You’re supposed to take it with a ton of water which I did do, I tried it for a week but felt awful. Too much fibre can have the opposite effect. Fibogel also made me feel awful. Years ago I used to smoke and you could always guarantee the first cigarette of the day would wake my bowels up, I don’t think I should go out and buy 20 fags to sort me out though!

Billybingbong · 22/08/2025 16:02

Ive just had a sobering realisation. If when I hit my target of 11st 4lb, which is exactly half my starting weight, my BMI will be 28. Which means that someone who is already my target weight, with comorbidities, is still deemed large enough to qualify for the jabs. FFS, my dream weight, and I'll still be a fatty 😡

SilenceInside · 22/08/2025 16:11

@Billybingbong it’s been 14 months on Mounjaro for me, and my BMI is 28 (was 50) which means that, given that I have high BP, I could start taking Mounjaro still now! And for another couple of months probably too, until I eventually squeak under the 27 marker.

This is why I hang out on this thread, because people here will understand what that’s like, and the long term nature of the process we’re going through.

Billybingbong · 22/08/2025 16:23

@SilenceInside wow you must feel amazing, I can't wait to get there. The stupid bloody BMI bollocks won't be pissing on my parade when I eventually make it! 😊

SilenceInside · 22/08/2025 16:30

Time will fly by and you’ll be there. I don’t think about BMI day to day, but I would like to get to under 25 and stay there. I’ve only ever been in that range for a short time during my late teens and early twenties. And I didn’t appreciate it at the time because I thought I was fat…. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was just a bit curvy.

I honestly feel good at my current weight, parts of me are looking slim-ish. I’m just holding weight around my middle a bit, which is where I’m hoping the remaining weight will mostly go from!

eibbed999 · 22/08/2025 17:09

Medino are annoying me too @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne - I'm trying to get some advice from them and am just being ignored. I get that this must be a busy time for them, but when an existing customer is looking for advice, ignoring them for a week isn't on. If not for the chaos out there at the moment I'd move.

TheBeesTrees · 22/08/2025 17:41

Billybingbong · 22/08/2025 12:58

@TheBeesTrees Here you go, this is quite a useful click chart

Edited

Thank you so much!!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 22/08/2025 18:34

@SilenceInside Swift doctor are opening orders for existing customers midday tomorrow 🎉 this is going to be as nerve wracking as securing Adele and Coldplay tickets for me!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 22/08/2025 18:37

Oh, stand down @SilenceInside, I’ve just joined their Facebook group and they are saying this doesn’t include 12.5 or 15mg 😭

SilenceInside · 22/08/2025 18:39

@Iwouldratherbesinging I saw, and am already stressed about it! I’m out of the house at that time, so I’ve just been planning with my DP where I can go to get a wifi signal and get set up to try to get an order in. I predict their website may struggle to deal, given they’ve given a specific time.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 22/08/2025 18:44

Blimey, from what I'm reading on here, Medino are the only pharmacy who haven't bothered to issue guidance to their customers.

SilenceInside · 22/08/2025 18:46

I need a 10mg @Iwouldratherbesinging so this is my chance! Fingers crossed.

Billybingbong · 22/08/2025 19:10

Good luck you guys trying to get your pens tomorrow. I agree, it sounds very much on par with concert ticket trauma, eek

Hi everyone, hope we're all doing well.
I finished my first pen on Wednesday and am really pleased to have lost 17 pounds in the first month. Fully aware that this will probably slow down, but it's a great start.
Quick question: Two days ago I moved up from 2.5mg to 3.75mg. Wanted to step up gently. However, since going up, I swear I am MORE hungry than when on 2.5mg.
Not sure if in my imagination or whether I just need to eat more, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
Thank you 😊

Iwouldratherbesinging · 22/08/2025 19:28

@SilenceInside I think I will take them up on their switch to Wegovy 1.7 mg once I’ve finished the pens I have. Good luck for tomorrow, I’ll have everything crossed for you!

I think it's a sign that you need the 5mg.

My appetite suppression has never been as good as it was in the initial few weeks on 2.5, it’s been a downward spiral since then! Not enough to derail me, but enough that I have to use willpower to stay on track. I’m going to slowly move up to 10mg next but I’m honestly not expecting a miracle. But I’m losing weight albeit slowly instead of the opposite.

TragicMuse · 22/08/2025 20:14

Aargh! Just had some of those buldak noodles. Oh. My. God! They’re rank!

What a waste of effort! Spanked all my calories too! Not doing that again!

SecretNameforMN · 22/08/2025 20:35

afaloren · 21/08/2025 19:25

Hi @SecretNameforMN side effects are different for everyone. I had one night of running to the loo when I first moved up to 5mg, and since then have some mild constipation which is easily managed by getting enough fluids and fibre.

There are positive side effects too! I don’t suffer in the heat so much; my gums have stopped bleeding, and I don’t fancy booze when previously I was drinking way too much.

That’s why the pharmacies start you on a lower dose: so your body can get used to the medication. There’s no law saying you have to move up every month; you can stick at a lower dose if it’s working for you.

This is one of my main worries: I cannot "run" to the loo. I am disabled by my weight and it take me ages to stand up and even longer to shuffle along the floor leaning on my zimmer frame. I fear not making it in time. Diarrhoea seems to be the most common side effect, so it's a very serious worry.

HelpMebeok · 22/08/2025 20:36

Today I went to Next and tried on an extra large top and it was too big!! Had to get the large and probably could've fit into a medium. It was such a big moment for me.

SaltAirAndTheRust · 22/08/2025 20:39

Had a really good day today. 1400 calories and couch to 5k done. Did have a nosebleed post my sinus surgery that was about three and a half weeks ago, but all in all a decent day. Jab day and I’ve ended up with a bit of a bridging dose between 12.5 and 15. We’ll see how that goes before my holiday

afaloren · 22/08/2025 20:41

Good luck to those trying to get pens! My pen from MedExpress just arrived yesterday, I ordered last Thursday so it took longer than usual.

They’ve finally sent an email with the new prices and it’s not as bad as I had feared for lower doses, which I am still on as finding it very effective. Also my GP cautioned against going up too high due to some other medication I am on (nothing contra-indicated, just a lot of it).

NSV at the gym today I had to tighten the strap on my bumbag while I was on the treadmill, lest it fall down and trip me!

Oh I’m sorry to hear that. I can totally understand why that is a major concern for you.

Some people take an even smaller dose than 2.5 by counting clicks rather than turning all the way to 1. So they might take 1.75.

Genuinely though the side effects seem to be different for everyone. Unfortunately, nobody can tell you exactly what they will be for you. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

PearlsPearl · 22/08/2025 20:52

@SecretNameforMN I started on a half dose of 1.25 for a month as I was scared of side effects. I still lost weight and was absolutely fine. I recommend that if you're worried.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 22/08/2025 22:16

Just catching up - I've been a bit under the weather this week. I'm not sure if it's exhaustion from going up to 10mg (but no nausea or poop issues) or if its more burn-outy. Grrr. On the plus side - second 10mg and haven't yet got the sulphur burps back ...

@Iwouldratherbesinging I've just watched the final episode of The Biggest Loser Documentary. It's heartbreaking isn't it. That we're there as entertainment and its truly how so many people think isn't it given the mounjaro/weightloss threads on here sometimes. Its shocking they nearly all regained more than they started with too... it made me think most of us may well need medication for life. And the reduced metabolism long term from the weight loss means reduced calories long term....

@Reginaphalangeeeee Yay! Fab to see you here :)
