NSV today.

Took the cats to the vet, and she said "wow, you've lost a lot of weight!"

Negotiations could still be going on, but MedicineMarketplace have actually published their prices from 1st September, seem competitive based on other info being guessed at the moment
2.5mg £137
5mg £178
7.5mg £215
10mg £239
12.5mg £251
15mg £271

Are they a good company to switch to

i haven't used them yet, but they get consistently good reviews on TP & i was going to use them for my last order but WePrescribe matched their price so I stayed with WP. I doubt there'll be any price matching or discounts available for a while, so MMP may well be my next provider in a few weeks.

I've used them. They use whatsapp to ask questions and send pictures. Some don't like it, but I preferred it as it made the experience much easier than attaching pictures to your profile online, for example. They were also quite responsive when I used them (in May) and despatch was within 48 hours.

I’m going to get photos and see if I can get some extra pens. I’ve had a problem with getting some providers to prescribe alongside the thyroxine I take, so I think I need a contingency plan.

In happier news, yesterday I pulled out some jeans and cords from the under-the-bed bags. Wore the jeans yesterday, they fitted nicely. Wearing the cords today and they are also fine.

And then I found the HUGE bag of all my fancy underwear. I was hugely supportive of a brand called ‘Who Made Your Pants?’ Which was a social enterprise that taught immigrant women a trade and used fashion industry waste fabric. I have so many of their pants! And now I can fit them again!

I’ve not worn any of these clothes for YEARS! It’s true joy, to be in them again, I’m feeling really happy about that!

Nice NSVs to start the week…

WafflingDreamer · 18/08/2025 16:24

NSV my neighbour is leaving the country and she gave us lots of her 18yo sons old clothes. I am currently wearing a mens M H&M hoodie!!! Its a bit tight on the hips but I can do it up.

I've used them from day 1, can't be arsed to swap around and they are consistently the cheapest. They don't use WhatsApp anymore, they stopped a few month ago for some reason I haven't had any issues with them yet, pens are well packaged and sent via Royal Mail 24. The only thing that irritates me is that after placing an order, I get an email which says in the subject line 'we require more information from you' but when you read the actual email, it just says order despatched. It panics me every time that I'm being rejected for some spurious reason!
I placed an order with them on Thursday afternoon (as soon as I read the bad news) and I received it Saturday, quickest turn around yet!

🤣🤣🤣

I've given myself a bit of a kick up the old jacksie, and reading all your posts made me realise I need to stop making excuses and start making sustainable changes. I was looking at outfits for my graduation and feeling a bit despondent at the number of things in my size that I actually like, and then reading here that it takes about 4 stone to move down the first clothes size and I was starting to wonder what the point was. Well of course the point is my health, and for future me to enjoy clothes I like. Thank you for snapping me out of my wallowing!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 18/08/2025 16:53

@TheBeesTrees just to add to that, once you get past that initial dropping of dress sizes you’ll notice that it speeds up and you’ll get frustrated as stuff gets too big really quickly! It’s that paper towel analogy where it was once nice and round for ages then all of a sudden it’s looking thinner and thinner.

I'm all of a sudden an 18 top and a 16 bottom, last month I was a 20 top and an 18 bottom, it creeps up on you, it’s a nice frustration to have though, hence Vinted is my friend!

Bilbette · 18/08/2025 16:53

Because of all my health issues I am no longer able to purchase from an online pharmacy. That isn’t a problem in itself as I now buy it from my local pharmacy who are connected to my GP surgery and have full access to my medical records.

i pay more than I would from an online supplier, which I’m perfectly ok with at the current prices (£139-229) but now I will be totally at the mercy of the price increase with no option to switch around, on the plus side the supply should be consistent

I know there isn’t a lot I can do about it (apart from swap to Wegovy which I don’t really want to do) and I’m not expecting anyone to come up with a solution

I’m just musing really as soon it will be about all I’ll be able to afford to do

Iwouldratherbesinging · 18/08/2025 16:54

Congrats @mamabeeboo thats an epic milestone! 🎉🤩

This 100%.

I've bought quite a few things which I've never worn, because after I got to size 16 I seemed to whizz down to size 12.

But yes, I had to lose 5st before that started to happen.

But what a lovely frustration to have though 🥰

I'm almost at 4st gone now, and have suddenly started dropping sizes quite quickly. I started at a size 24/26 and am now fitting into 18s & 20s. Its a wonderful feeling when half your wardrobe is too big, rather than the too small it has been for years

PositiveAttitude · 18/08/2025 19:01

Congratulations on all the successes here. You are all inspiring me. One day I hope to be following you with the successes.

Well, despite me being absolutely determined to rely 100% on my local pharmacist to keep things local and face to face, I have succumbed to the panic. Seeing everyone saying that they had pens to last them months ahead and that a lot of places were now out of stock, I realised that if my pharmacist suddenly said he didn't have a pen for me when I need it ( beginning of September, so I knew the price would have increased) I would be stuck with nothing!! And so many places were not taking on new customers etc., so today I have paid for a pen from e-surgery. I have sent the photos and am just waiting to see if I have got it in before they shut up shop too. At least it will give me a few months to assess what's happening.
🤞🏻it goes through ok because now I have decided that I am in a very precarious position I will panic if I don't get it.
Me + stress normally = me eating lots of bad food.
Today I have been particularly hungry and have been picking at things I haven't even looked at for the past 7 weeks. <Sigh>

mamabeeboo · 18/08/2025 19:59

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne that's really insightful and promising. Losing 5 stone I've gone from 28-24 so I'm waiting for my whoosh! I feel like the number on the scale is great but I want to see the dress size number change. I feel like now my weightloss is about to get good!!

PearlsPearl · 18/08/2025 20:29

I've lost 5 stone and gone from a size 24 .... to a size 24. Hmmm! My face is thinner and my tops are a bit baggier on the belly but that's it. Don't have a clue where I've supposedly lost it from. A stone from each cheek perhaps?

You didn't need an extension belt on the plane recently.

Have you tried on any smaller clothes?

It's not so much the weight loss, it wasn't for me anyway. It's the body recomposition, how the fat moves around your body. I've not lost anything in months really about 7lb in 4 months but today I was wearing a size 8 pair of trousers and a small t shirt. Compared to a 12 bottom and 10 top not so long ago.

SilenceInside · 18/08/2025 20:38

@PearlsPearl do you have any pictures you can compare side by side, in non-baggy clothes?

I think part of not noticing a change in size for me was my habit of wearing things that were not in any way fitted or tight across my stomach. Always tunic tops that flared out, or loose style dresses and stretchy leggings or joggers. I think it made it harder to spot that I had got significantly smaller. Now that I'm wearing jeans, non-stretch fabrics and closer fitting things any weight loss is much more noticeable I find.

The body composition is interesting to think about.

I can't imagine being a size 8 😱😱😱😱
That is phenomenal 🥳
