I did this. I went from a size 22 to a size 18 on my top but my trousers stayed stubbornly at a size 22 for ages. I am hovering around the 5st loss mark now and I have definitely gone down to a size 20 and I’m getting close to a size 18 in trousers.

Unfortunately, the more recent loss has all been from my bum and very little from my stomach. It actually hurts to sit down on a hard seat for too long now because I’ve lost so much fat from my bum.

Overall, my loss has been very slow for the last month or so. I managed to lose a little whilst I was on holiday but in the two weeks since I’ve been back, it’s been painfully slow. I’ve only lost 4lbs in the last four weeks.

Still quicker than me, I'm at 2lb a month now but it makes a huge difference. I've got maybe a stone left so hoping to be done by Christmas

To hit 4 stone not actually lose 4 stone in a week!

#proofreadingiseverything

When I read your post I did think, I, too, would love to lose 4 stone in a week. 🤣🤣

OK, so I confess to some panic buying of pens the other evening when news of forthcoming price rises broke. My usual supplier said they were out of stock so I tried a few others:; 2 said the order was pending until I'd uploaded a video and/or had an online consultation, neither of which I did so I assumed the order wouldn't progress. But, they now appear to have both dispatched anyway. In the meantime my usual supplier came back to say they could fulfil the order. At this rate I'll have quite a stash of pens. Thank heaven for credit cards! I hope 7.5 is ok and I stay on it for a while!

Kay2000 · 17/08/2025 22:17

@Quitepossibly that’s not great practice to give it to you without photos if you were a new customer! I guess they’re inundated with orders. I’ve just placed an order with Zava for one more pen, as they say you can have up to 3 pens and I ordered a dual pack the other night. Hopefully they’ll fulfil the order and that will give me a 7.5, just started, then 1x7.5mg and 2x10mg. And I’m going to try to increase my swimming starting tomorrow, walking in the water if I’m not up to swimming. I’m still in a lot of pain from arthritis just about everywhere, so it’ll kill or cure me but hopefully I’ll start to lose weight a little faster. I’m just starting a health and wellbeing journal too, to track everything.

Does anyone use a step tracker thingy and if so, what do you recommend? It has to be good for swimming/use in water.

Quitepossibly · 17/08/2025 22:27

@Kay2000 I'd uploaded my driving licence and evidence of previous prescription (from another provider) but hadn't done the video /scales shot. I guess they felt prescription evidence was enough, but the dispatch was unexpected.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 17/08/2025 22:31

I've just had an email from Chemist 4U to say that they've had over 7,000 orders in the last two days, so it'll be at least three days before they work through them.

Medino, meanwhile, haven't been in touch at all.

Blimey, 7000 is ridiculous. My sister ordered one pen from Asda on Thursday night and has heard nothing yet (she’s an existing customer). I’ve had a message from Zava to say my first order was processed and will be delivered this week. I’ve been very happy with Zava so far and don’t want to switch so I hope they stay competitively priced after the increases.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/08/2025 00:49

TBF I don't want to swop from Medino but I'm going to keep an eye on the prices of all of them, and I'm sure we're all going to be doing that.

Chemist4U has currently got a good deal on their pens, but that's bound to change.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 18/08/2025 00:51

And at least Chemist 4U is answering messages. Medino is obviously snowed under and incommunicado.

NotsosunnyShropshire · 18/08/2025 05:21

I ordered my next pen from my usual supplier, MedExpress, Friday evening. Could have ordered it at the beginning of the week. Had a few issues getting the website to stop crashing, but my next pen came yesterday afternoon. Took about as long as it usually does.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 18/08/2025 05:34

Are they all kind of guessing prices at the moment? Presumably they've not yet made the deals with Eli lily yet so things could change (up or down?)

GnomeDePlume · 18/08/2025 07:08

@OvertiredandConfused much sympathy from someone else suffering with boney arse syndrome! I now have a wheelchair cushion on my office chair.

NSV: I finished the jeans I was making. I can just about squeak into them. It was very strange to be making something in the knowledge that I will be losing weight rather than the expectation of gaining weight.

Kay2000 · 18/08/2025 07:51

My sister checked Asda and the website says they’re out of stock on all doses except 2.5 and 5. She’d ordered 7.5. So she’s messaged asking for the 5 again.

I do think companies could have emailed existing customers rarely last week to advise them to reorder and not allow new customers to stockpile until all existing customers had got their next month dose. It’s been a bit of a 💩 show hasn’t it.

TragicMuse · 18/08/2025 08:01

I’ve not heard anything from Medino either Broon.

PearlsPearl · 18/08/2025 08:10

I got my 2 pens from Pharmacy Express and Medicine Marketplace, PE I'd ordered with before but MMP I hadn't so I expected them to cancel it, but it's been dispatched. I also have 1 pen in the fridge from IQDoctor but it wouldn't let me order another one from them as kept saying existing customers only (which I am!) so I gave up. And I've taken 2/5 of my current pen. So it'll keep me going. As was said above... thank goodness for the credit card.

PearlsPearl · 18/08/2025 08:11

I don't know about anyone else, but I am feeling SUPER motivated today for this coming week. Hitting 5 stone is the biggest motivator for me but also with the price increase I want to make every penny count.

Negotiations could still be going on, but MedicineMarketplace have actually published their prices from 1st September, seem competitive based on other info being guessed at the moment
2.5mg £137
5mg £178
7.5mg £215
10mg £239
12.5mg £251
15mg £271

Iwouldratherbesinging · 18/08/2025 09:14

My panic buy pen on Thursday night has been dispatched from a previous supplier - had notification from Royal Mail, heard nothing from the supplier though but I expect they must be inundated. Going to try and place an order today with my current supplier. @PearlsPearl definitely thank god for the credit card!

Boney arse syndrome is so painful! I have a waffle cushion in the car and a gel seat on my work chair. I can highly recommend a pocket sprung sofa rather than foam cushions, it’s a life changer!

Thankyou. I was just wondering if they have just gone for a what they think the future will be so it's just initial pricing or if they'll all negotiate further and get it down.

That's really helpful for a guide to plan. I'll potentially be going from £99 a pen to £239 (well £191 over equivalent 4 weeks)

NSV today..... I am on a train and someone SAT NEXT TO ME as it filled up!!!!!!! I still feel very large as so much is on my stomach in front of me but my frame really is much smaller already 😁

JustAnotherSod · 18/08/2025 10:24

What a strange few weeks the past four have been - but another pen finished this morning and loss seen, although not as much as previous pens. A bit of a plateau for the middle two weeks coupled with last weeks pricing panic means I was feeling a bit uggh about it all.

But, over the weekend I gave myself a bit of a talking too - I'm still down, and have now over 50% of the way to my goal weight - which I could only dream about achieving at the start of the year - so thinking of the positives, that's great!

Weigh in this morning at the end of pen 8
:
SW: 136.6kg
GW: 62.6kg

Pen 1 (2.5mg): Down 10.1kg
Pen 2 (5mg): Down 6kg
Pen 3 (5mg): Down 5.1kg
Pen 4 (5mg): Down 4.8kg
Pen 5 (5mg): Down 4kg
Pen 6 (5mg): Down 5kg
Pen 7 (5mg): Down 4.5kg
Pen 8 (5mg): Down 3.1kg

CW: 94kg

Pen 9 started this morning - I've stayed on 5mg again - despite the mini-plateau this still feels like it works great for me.

Ooh, I have literally just had an email from them.

They cancelled my order, and have refused to reinstate the 10% discount code I used. That means I've lost one unique discount code.

I'm hopping mad.

LucyBnotG · 18/08/2025 11:24

Billybingbong · 15/08/2025 12:09

Obviously, this is going against all medical advice, and not something l would ever recommend, but just me thinking out loud... if I were in your situation, it may just cross my mind to buy a higher dose pen, and split it between you both, so you could still both benefit.

I think this new development will make a lot of people use the pens more creatively, ie using the golden dose, staying on a lower dose for longer, stretching the pens beyond the 30 days etc. I personally will weigh up all the options to ensure I can stay on it as long as possible

@Anotherename Also going against medical advice here too. I am not recommending anyone do this either. But if a couple were to split a higher dose pen then extracting each time with syringes would be a safer way to share. (I think, I'm not a scientist).

I'm going to see what I can shuffle around to be able to continue as long as possible. I was really hoping to stay on the medication at least 6 months into maintenance and I'm nowhere near maintenance. I think I'll be able to swing it (just) but really feel for those who will be completely priced out from September onwards.

That's terrible. To be honest, I don't think any of the providers are handling this very well. Some have put their prices up already, others are cancelling orders etc. Its madness out there!!

Ive managed to build up a little stockpile. I was already 2 pens ahead, and have bought another 3 from a friend who changed to Wegovy last month, so I'm fine until Jan/Feb time now. My next order was due this week before all this kicked off, but my provider is out of stock of all doses, so it's a good job I already have some. I hope everyone is managing to get their orders sorted 💕

Those losses each month are amazing!! Is there anything specific you're doing or just the usual smaller portions, lots of water etc?
I'm losing on average 3kg a month which is ok, but considering I have a lot to lose, was expecting it to be slightly faster.

5 stone loss as of this morning!

Nothing particular beyond eating fairly plain and simply, and about 1,350 calories a day. Plus, since May I've built in exercise - swimming 3 times a week and walking every day - although I don't think that is affecting the scales, more it is letting me see more clearly the changes to my body that are happening.

Losses do seem to be slower when I'm not quite so good at drinking plenty every day - but I don't think there is much rhyme or reason for rates of weight loss and I'm trying to tell myself just to go with it and let my body do its thing, supported by the medication and by my choices - more than anything that mindset seems to be different than every time I've tried before when I'd have tripped myself up by now second guessing everything.

3 kg a month is really decent loss - and achieving that every month is so much better for you than not - keep going and good luck!
