@newtothegreen welcome! I was 144kg starting so similar to you and I'm now 114kg and it feels awesome!

NSV today, I went out to a bar and had a little dance and felt so full of energy and so light on my feet.

PearlsPearl · 16/08/2025 22:47

@SilenceInside the DREAM! Lush NSV, well done you.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 16/08/2025 23:33

I've been looking at Oviva - they prescribe wegovy if your bmi is 40+ or 35+ with a comorbidity such as asthma or nafld.

You do right to choose through tier 3 and it's just the cost of NHS prescription for years...

Everything about it makes sense. Other than restarting from 0 again and trying a new drug and potential side effects when this one is working so well.

I'm also bmi 37 so would have to do it soon if I do!.

Has anyone else looked into this or looked into it before?

PearlsPearl · 17/08/2025 09:13

Weigh in. Can’t quite believe it.

FIVE STONE!

From 22.3 to 17.2. Unreal. 😭💖

My stomach has definitely hung on to the weight more than it used to in the past when I've lost weight before. I blame age and pregnancies for it, I think.

I had a NSV on Friday, when I had a chance to wander round the shops on my own for an hour or so which I don't often get the chance to. I went into every clothes shop and looked at everything. It doesn't sound like much, but I have avoided real life clothes shopping for so long as it was so fraught with negativity and stress. Yesterday it was delightful. Every item that I was interested in was available in my current size which was such a surreal experience. I could look at things and choose any of them, if I wanted, rather than looking for the things available in my old size and choosing what I hated the least and would actually fit me. In most shops they would have had nothing at all. Of course, I bought nothing! Now I'm accustomed to Vinted, paying full price for new things seems so expensive.

I had a related NSV today, which was wearing a size 14 top which I got from Vinted for £4, from Fatface originally, and a really flattering shape for me. I cannot fathom that size 14 things currently fit me.

I have only bought on Whatnot this year, usually around a pound an item, but it's hit and miss the quality and sizing. I'm a reseller tho so if it doesn't fit me I can easily pass it on. I bought some jeans from Zara the other day for 29.99 and kept thinking of the huge bag I could have got from Whatnot!

Just musing, had a talk about finances last night, we are both wanting to retire in 2 years time, at 60, or in our 60th year, (we’re both the same age). We have plans that mainly involve travelling, 3 months on the road in Europe (thanks brexit 🤬) 3 months back in the uk and we are saving hard to do this. I am going to continue with Mounjaro but will buy my last pen in January, take the required 5 week break then consider wegovy for maintenance, if I stick with the same supplier hopefully the switch will be easier. That gives me 5 months, I could feel myself spiralling again on Friday/Saturday with worry.

The order I placed with a previous supplier on Thursday is still pending and they are showing as out of stock now so I doubt it’ll go through. All I’ve had is an email saying they are dealing with a large volume of orders, I can’t place an order with swift doctor until the 19th and they are also showing as out of stock. I have a spare pen so am ok until the end of September so will be paying the higher price for 15mg for four months only.

Before all this came to light I’d been thinking about how it would feel when I start to titrate down to a lower dose and was feeling quite calm and confident about it, funny how our thought processes change in the blink of an eye.

sorry for waffling!

newtothegreen · 17/08/2025 12:23

@mamabeeboo thank you, and that is so inspiring! Well done, you must feel like a different person! 😍

Yes, I was very bottom heavy for a while, size small on top and still 18-20 on bottom. It's evened up more now with a small top and medium bottom. Once my thighs give it up I should be small on both Half's. Feet gone from 5 to 3,5 too

Out of curiosity, how long did it take to catch up roughly?

AlicesMum2025 · 17/08/2025 13:15

@PearlsPearl congratulations, that must feel amazing

Janie934 · 17/08/2025 13:31

@Iwouldratherbesinging I believe some providers (Voy and Oushk from memory) have said that you can move to Wegovy with a 1 week gap and possibly start on a higher dose of wegovy (dependent on current dose and side effects). So you may not need to have a 5 week gap to switch for maintenance

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 17/08/2025 14:07

Well done @PearlsPearl 🎉🎉

I don't track very much to be honest but my body recompisition seemed to happen over night. It literally felt like I went from 18 to 10 overnight. In reality it was maybe a month. My belly and bum just weren't there one morning. I don't often look in the mirror and it caught me off guard.

Thanks everyone for the love and congrats. I’ve been buzzing all day! 🌟🥰

6lb to go and I’ll be at my next target- 50% of the way there.

(started 22.3, wanna post 11.2, exactly half my body weight)

TragicMuse · 17/08/2025 17:59

I’m hoping for 4 stone off this week. Fingers crossed!!

TragicMuse · 17/08/2025 19:30

To hit 4 stone not actually lose 4 stone in a week!

I've had a GP referral to Oviva. 15 weeks waiting list.

AlicesMum2025 · 16/08/2025 16:37

Quick question, not price increase related.

Is anyone else only losing weight from one area of their body?

I've lost just over 3st so far and it's all come off of my top half. Mostly stomach but also boobs a little bit. I've gone down two clothes sizes. My bottom half I'm still the same size. I've lost 2 inches on my hips but I'm a classic pear shape so that's where I've always carried the most weight.

It's frustrating because my tops are starting to hang on me but I can't size down because otherwise I can't get them over my hips.

Just wondering when my other half will join the weight loss party.

Edited

I did this. I went from a size 22 to a size 18 on my top but my trousers stayed stubbornly at a size 22 for ages. I am hovering around the 5st loss mark now and I have definitely gone down to a size 20 and I’m getting close to a size 18 in trousers.

Unfortunately, the more recent loss has all been from my bum and very little from my stomach. It actually hurts to sit down on a hard seat for too long now because I’ve lost so much fat from my bum.

Overall, my loss has been very slow for the last month or so. I managed to lose a little whilst I was on holiday but in the two weeks since I’ve been back, it’s been painfully slow. I’ve only lost 4lbs in the last four weeks.
