Thank you so much @EverybodysALebowski the NSVs definitely mean more to me at the moment. Make me buzz with happiness and re-motivate me.

@Kay2000 I think most folks who haven’t considered it before will now be pushed towards the 5th dose. It’s been very very easy for me- just put the needle in and pull out 0.6 which is a full dose.

truly don’t know why people would bin a full dose.

Billybingbong · 15/08/2025 10:30

Ive just had a call from my boss. She switched to Wegovy last month, and has offered me 3 full MJ pens, before she disposes of them. She did say she wouldn't be offended if l said no, but I clearly have no morals because I snapped her bloody hand off!! With the one I already have, I should be fine until the New year now, phew.

So my new plan is, if I save the money I would have spent over the next 4 months, I might be able to manage a few extra months at the higher price.

On another note, week 19 WI, and 1lb off, total of 3st 10lb

SW 22st 8lb
CW 18st 12lb
GW 11st 4lb (or wherever I am when I can no longer afford it, ffs)

I hope everyone is ok, and managing to navigate this latest shitty development. This is the time we need this thread more than ever, lets hope we can all pull together and support each other along the way. Much love to everyone ❤️

GnomeDePlume · 15/08/2025 10:41

@Fffreeeeezing as you lose weight you are needing less energy to move you, to keep the system going. A pound loss now is a higher percentage of your body than it was at the start.

More, if you think of that pound loss as a percentage of the fat available to lose it is now a much higher percentage.

SilenceInside · 15/08/2025 10:41

Week 58 weigh in.

SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 79.1kg (12st 6lbs), was 79.4kg (12st 7lbs)
GW: 73kg (11st 7lbs) sixth interim goal

Current pen: 10mg, 13 weeks on this dose.

I feel like I am stuck in a bit of a plateau/rut at the moment. I have dropped the 300g to get back down to 79.1kg, but that very much feels like no progress made for the last two or three weeks. I now feel like I have to make every week count, which is just putting too much pressure and stress on me! Which doesn't help with positive thinking around diet and exercise. Argh!

I think upping my exercise will help with feeling more proactive and positive. It's an interesting thing that these days I start feeling really quite antsy and annoyed if I haven't been for a decent walk or done a treadmill run for a while.

Fffreeeeezing · 15/08/2025 10:47

Medicine Market Place have already released their new prices. My 10mg is going up £104 to £239 in Sept. Annoying but I fortunately am able to deal with an increases (there has to be a bonus to being single and childless yeah?!). I really feel for those of you having to make sacrifices to buy MJ, if I win the £205m on the Euromillions tonight, I will help all of you out okay, I will start a MJ fund for anyone on this thread!

Hi guys

haven’t posted for a while, net mums has been loading too well on my phone (think it’s the adverts) and I tend to give up 🤦‍♀️

so starting weight 315lb / bmi 51 in January
current weight 249lb / bmi 40.9
using 10mg atm

husband seeing how well I was doing , also jumped on the band wagon , and has lost 4 stone since march time , and is down to 15 stone 12 lb

we were feeling very good about our health.

obviously the news of the increase has thrown us. We massively struggle to afford it now (I’m a part time TA and he’s a bus driver)

obviously we don’t know exactly what will happen to prices in September yet . Husband has 3 doses left and I have a full pen .

his current supplier has offered to sell two pens this time - we are going to try take advantage of that, but it’s a big hit in a month and he’s going over to weekly pay soon so everything feels a bit off kilter .

we spoke about it and what will probably happen is I will continue, and he will stop . Only as I have the most to lose , and he is 2 st away from a healthy weight.

I feel awful about it though.

im sure many are in the same situation

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 15/08/2025 11:33

Kay2000 · 15/08/2025 10:09

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne thanks so much, I think that’ll be helpful for many of us trying to get every last £ out of the pen going forward. I’m on 7.5 and have ordered a dual pack of 7.5 and 10.

I've never understood why anyone throws it away.

From a 15mg pen, there is 0.8ml of MJ left at the end.

That's FOUR DOSES of 5MG.

Basically, it's the equivalent of a whole 5mg pen. So many people are throwing away £130 of MJ.

mamabeeboo · 15/08/2025 11:44

Hope everyone is doing well. The prices are out of our control, and all we can do is focus on our weightloss as much as we can and get to goal. At the end of the day, mounjaro is a tool - we are the real people doing the work.

We have changed our lifestyle, we are exercising, we are counting calories, we are meal planning. So let's focus on our own selves and how we can continue our success, whether mounjaro, wegovy or just us.💛

Quite right.

Posts with a political bias really have no place on our support thread.

PearlsPearl · 15/08/2025 12:08

@Fffreeeeezing that's so nice! I am going to buy a ticket and do the same, I promise to buy everyone's MJ if I win 😄

For me I can't do it without this tool. I lost nearly 3 stone in 10 months before the jabs by calorie counting but I was miserable, hungry a lot and felt very deprived. I hit a wall and couldn't keep going. Like all the other times I've dieted before. On MJ I still have to make good choices and exercise willpower, but it just makes it easier for me to do so. I can't, and don't want to, give that up. It's changed everything for me. And the suppliers know there are the majority like me who will carry on paying because we need it. It is like the Black Mirror episode. Make you dependant on drugs, massively hike the cost of said drugs.

Obviously, this is going against all medical advice, and not something l would ever recommend, but just me thinking out loud... if I were in your situation, it may just cross my mind to buy a higher dose pen, and split it between you both, so you could still both benefit.

I think this new development will make a lot of people use the pens more creatively, ie using the golden dose, staying on a lower dose for longer, stretching the pens beyond the 30 days etc. I personally will weigh up all the options to ensure I can stay on it as long as possible

Very well said.

I've already adjusted the weekly food shop. It was lucky that I had a Tesco delivery today, so I was able to remove stuff to keep the costs down.

I'm not stopping my MJ. I've almost got to my goal, so I'm going to carry on.

I get how upsetting last night was…

TragicMuse · 15/08/2025 12:27

Wonderful NSV @PearlsPearl I dream of getting up from the floor with ease!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 15/08/2025 12:28

I ordered a 15mg pen last night from Medino. It was time for me to order it anyway.

Today I ordered a 12.5mg pen as well. I have no idea if they'll send it. I'm waiting to hear back from them.

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 15/08/2025 12:44

Hi all!

Haven’t been keeping up with the thread really as I was on holidays. Am now 15.7kg down on my start weight from 16 May which isn’t bad going when I’ve had two holidays in that time!

Feeling very low about the price news, as we all are. My pharmacy (LiveWell) has said 5mg (my current dose) is going to increase to £175 per month from the £134 I just paid last week. Have to hope I can stay on this dose for a while longer!

afaloren · 15/08/2025 13:26

I feel blue :( I’m worried about the price increase. My lovely mum pays for mine as well as her own but I can’t ask her to absorb this kind of cost. Maybe she might be willing to keep paying the same price and I can somehow make up the shortfall. I’ve got two doses left in my pen and just ordered another one although it hasn’t been approved yet. My provider has said they are going to try and keep it affordable so we will see. DH says we will make it work but I feel very anxious.

I also didn’t lose any weight this week! I know I’ve been away but I worked the two ice creams I had into my calories, drank not a drop of booze, went to the gym twice while we were there and walked every day. Ho hum.

I have only used it for the last few months, my bf extracts it for me and made me an adaptor as the needle is so long. It's my favourite dose now as it's bigger than the rest!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 15/08/2025 14:17

I also have a euro millions ticket and if I win I’ll also get you all to goal!

I’ve calmed down a bit overnight, the news just sent me and everyone into a bit of a panic, wegovy is an option. I do know how lucky I am as I’ve managed to lose 6 1/2 stone and if I’m really honest I’d be happy to just lose another 2 and try and maintain the 8 1/2 stone loss. I’m utterly heartbroken for those of you who still have so far to go but we can support each other through this.

last week I mentioned that I don’t calorie count as it makes me miserable, well I’ve had a miserable week counting calories 😂. It was quite interesting but I’m not going to do it again, at least while I’m on Mounjaro.
wednesday - 1176
thursday - 541 (fast day)
friday - 1003
saturday - 923 (😧)
sunday - 1285
monday - 519 (fast day)
tuesday - 1162

If anything I need to be aware of not eating enough, might introduce a handful of nuts to keep the calories up as that’s not sustainable on life after MJ.

PearlsPearl · 15/08/2025 14:36

It's good to track sometimes to see where you're at, isn't it?

I aim for around 1000-1200 a day, on weekdays especially, but more on a weekend. On Sundays I usually go well over as we go out for lunch every week with DW's 90 year old grandma who is the absolute cutest, we go to all sorts of places and she always insists we have a few treats with our coffees after 😍after staying on track all week I do relax on a Sun since it's day 7 anyway so the least suppression.

I'm sure I read somewhere it's good to occasionally have a higher calorie day to keep your metabolism on its toes. That's what I'm sticking with anyway!

I use a fair few calories for my daily essentials. I take gummies (melatonin, multivits, fibre, magnesium), 3 x prunes and 3 x apricots (for the 💩😬) and have a clear protein drink. All of those comes to 300. So that's annoying to me to use 300 cals a day just on the boring things, but they're non negotiables to me so I suck it up! But it's why I don't have breakfast, I would but I don't have the calories to spare.

SilenceInside · 15/08/2025 14:47

@afaloren it must be a worry for you and your mum, and I think we all know how you are feeling at the moment. Not losing weight this week is also a bit of a kicker, but I am sure you will see the benefits of it next week.

You've done a great job sticking within your calories, exercising and not giving into any temptation /booze, despite a change in routine.
I'd take any weight change with a pinch of salt when routines change as there are so many different factors in play including weather, travel, sleep, time of the month etc.

One thing I didn't appreciate until more recently is just how many factors are in play when it comes to weight.

Quite a few of us here weigh everyday but only record once a week or two weeks because of exactly this.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 15/08/2025 15:10

At the moment, it's looking like Medino have hiked up all their prices.

A 15mg pen is about £50 dearer than it was last night.

That's okay.

But is it going to go up any further? I haven't had an email from them about this yet.
