I'm hoping I'll be able to fit into size 18 bottoms in the not too distant future. A colleague was shocked I was still wearing size 20 as she said I'm definitely smaller than she is and she's in 18. I really struggle to visualise myself compared to others. For now I figure my 20's aren't falling off so why rush to buy more clothes

Very well done @MummyInTheNecropolis and @Lds1 I'm really impressed by the way you are still going strong.

I'm surprised I've lasted this long, I've never got this far on previous attempts before!

It's still been such a long haul and at times not easy. It usually feels like there's progress however small (I find the small losses disappointing but I've got better at taking the approach of they all add up).

I'm still loving the wide leg jeans trend, it means I can buy a smaller size but they still fit my legs in, when that trend dies again I'll be stuffed! I bought some in a size 14, they don't fit well yet but hopefully they might do soon.

TragicMuse · 14/08/2025 10:24

Well done lovely losers!

Another NSV after the ring joy…I have belts which are TOO BIG! They were extra long ones anyway but now they’re impossibly long. So I’ve bought a tool to trim them down a bit and remove the flappy tail. This feels rather exciting. And I might be able to use the off cuts in a sewing project! Double win!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/08/2025 10:48

I put a skirt on Vinted the other day. It was a size 24 and I was really surprised at how much bigger it looked, compared to the size 14 skirts which now fit me.

I realise that that sounds daft.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 14/08/2025 10:55

Anyway. Enough of my havering.

I've finally had a whoosh, and lost 3lb this week.

It's been a frustrating month, where I had a very long plateau.

I'm now 12st 4lb.

(I've lost 7st 12lb in 18 months)

I'm still in the OBESE category! But only just. My BMI is 30.5.

Lds1 · 14/08/2025 11:43

I'm tempted to pull out my old jeans just to see the difference in size between the old and new. Also tempted to put them on so it might be easier to visualise the progress which I find hard with pictures.

TragicMuse · 14/08/2025 11:55

Do it @Lds1! I think seeing how far you’ve come in a clothes comparison will be cheering!

For you that is! I don’t mean share pics if you don’t want to!

Hurrah for the whoosh!

TragicMuse · 14/08/2025 11:57

Nausea is kicking my arse today! I brought lunch to work, can’t face it. 🤢

Doggymummar · 14/08/2025 12:03

I think I over ate yesterday. Felt so sick last night and still this morning too. Just been to get my nails done and the nail tech said you look like you've lost weight. I was only in their a month ago so I haven't but it was nice if him to say so. And my face does look/is slimmer as my glasses no longer fit.

Wow well done @Lds1and @MummyInTheNecropolis a 9 stone loss is amazing!

TheBeesTrees · 14/08/2025 12:40

Massive well done to everyone on losses and NSVs!! Sorry to those feeling nauseous today, hopefully it passes quickly.
Im slowly dropping back down after my gain last week. I think I need to go up a dose when I jab this Friday, but I have an interview on Monday that I really want to feel the best for so I'm thinking of doing my last 5mg dose then on Monday evening doing 2.5mg. But then what do I do come Friday? Is it too soon to do a full 7.5mg 4 days later? Or do I just have another week of 5mg and go up to 7.5mg next week to keep it simple?

PositiveAttitude · 14/08/2025 13:37

Hi everyone.
I have just been to my pharmacist where I get my pen from.
I have some bad news for everyone.

He received an email a couple of hours ago from the Mounjaro manufacturer and it said that the price is going to be going up to almost double, apparently. I am just warning you all, as from September all doses are going to be a lot more expensive.
It's a bit gutting and I know many people struggle to budget for the cost anyway.

A small part of me hopes it won't happen, but he said that the big Pharma companies are so very powerful and have more power than the government.

Anyway, that's sort of ruined my day!!! Before hearing that I was quite happy with a 2lb loss over 2 weeks, one of which was being away at my daughter's. That's a total of 1. Stone 3 lb in 7 weeks. Still an awful long way to go, but it's a good start.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 14/08/2025 14:01

I've posted there. But I'm scared. It's people in our demographic that will lose out most here (likely to go up to higher doses/long term) and we need it so much more than those losing a couple of stone.

We don't earn much and struggling to save for driving lessons at the moment. Its been lifechanging for me as for most of us. I'm genuinely scared.

SilenceInside · 14/08/2025 14:06

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden totally understandable. I am hoping that when this actually gets through to the consumer prices, that the supposed commercial discounts will have happened and that any price rise is manageable. I also wonder whether pharmacies will increase the prices of the lower doses, to keep the price of the higher doses down a bit, if necessary.

Lds1 · 14/08/2025 14:28

I've just placed an order today (was due anyway) and they need photos for the first time in ages, I'll have to take and submit them tonight

mamabeeboo · 14/08/2025 14:33

I know there's a separate thread on the price rise, but posting on the thread I feel most comfortable - my concern for myself (and whoever else in this group) is that we still have a long way to go. It's not just a jab for 3 months like the others. I had planned to stay on this for at least 18 months, and I'm only on month 7.

It's kicked me into gear that I don't have time to waste and my slow losses of 2lbs a week is going to cost 😣

I've just had an order last week with Swift, so I won't be able to order again for another week. I currently can't decide if I should order again as soon as I can.

PearlsPearl · 14/08/2025 14:42

I’m thinking to stock up on pens now! But if I did, eventually they’d run out and then nowhere will give me a say 10mg pen if my last prescription was 3 months prior. SIGH.

I truly can’t afford anymore, even with the 5th dose I’m really stretching myself. 😞😞

I’m so annoyed with myself. I’m like an eating machine. Today ate so much? I went up to 5 on Sun hoping the suppression I felt for the first 10 weeks would come back but nope. Maybe I need to accept that it’s gone now and work on willpower more. I nearly bought a cake in Starbucks but had to say to myself THIS IS JUST FOOD NOISE YOU DONT NEED OR WANT IT. It worked anyway! But that first few months it didn’t even cross my mind to want one.

Autumnflowers2 · 14/08/2025 14:52

I'm on the other thread
But I don't understand how people are having 2 or three pens in the fridge at one time .
My supplier will tell me when I need to order a pen and it's usually when I have two weeks left ,then it arrives and I usually have one dose left of the old pen and the new pen in the fridge
Yet I'm reading about people just ordering an extra pen
I thought this was a regulated medicine,..are the companies just letting people order willy nilly

WafflingDreamer · 14/08/2025 14:57

Im on 15mg if it went over £200 which it probably will I'll either look at dropping to the lowest dose I can that is under £200 or switching completely to wegovy. The most expensive strength of wegovy is £250 before pharmacy discount. I'd rather not have to stop yet but equally I can't afford to put anymore pressure on our finances

SilenceInside · 14/08/2025 14:57

One pharmacy, Oushk, allow you to order in advance with future order dates. Other pharmacies will allow you to buy bundles of 2 or 3 pens, usually in different doses. So a 2.5, 5 and a 7mg pen. Then, most pharmacies will let you reorder after a couple of weeks. If you get a 5th dose out of each pen, but order every 4 weeks it’s very possible to build up a small stockpile of medication.

I can order my NHS prescription in a similar way and end up with a stockpile of that if I wanted to. So it’s not unique to Mounjaro.

Autumnflowers2 · 14/08/2025 14:59

I had no idea
What's to stop people buying a bundle of 3 pens and selling on at an increase

Autumnflowers2 · 14/08/2025 15:01

I suppose as well you need to spare money to buy a bundle, plus if you have 3 pens in the fridge, and suddenly developed gallstones and taken to hospital, that's a lot of pens wasted
