I don’t know what to eat 😞 at lunch. I don’t fancy anything. My go to of chicken and cottage cheese has started turning me off. I don’t want sandwiches or toast. I have no idea what I want anymore.

long gone are the days of hitting Greggs for my lunch!

I’m OMAD but will keep some quick snacks in the fridge/pantry on the off chance I fancy something. My go to’s are:

fruit
yoghurt
boiled eggs
cup-a-soups
porridge
tinned tuna/salmon

Not a massive list but it may help x

@ladyinwaiting99 welcome! Losing weight is an adventure and this is your adventure. It isn't all about the destination, there are lots of NSVs (non scale victories) to be enjoyed and celebrated. We will celebrate these with you.

The side effects differ from person to person. For me, at the start, the main problem was slowed digestive transit. Not constipation, I just felt like I had a week's worth of food inside me moving very slowly. Which, to be fair, I did.

Psyllium husk capsules, more vegetables, all-bran, increasing fluid intake have all helped with this problem though not completely solved it.

If you are taking any other medication it is a good idea to make sure your GP surgery are aware. All my dosages of my other medications have changed as I have lost weight and changed my diet. While some things have reduced others have fluctuated.

ladyinwaiting99 · 13/08/2025 10:22

Thank you @GnomeDePlumeI will stock up on those things, I got the approval of both GP and specialist before I started so I’m fairly confident that it’s safe but will be moving through the “levels” very slowly just to be on the safe side.
I hope I’ll be sharing good news on here in the months to come!!

Missingducks · 13/08/2025 10:47

Knickers, willies, arse and fuck. Day one of Week 18 and I dearly wanted to have got to 140kg but am stubbornly stuck at 141.5 for the second week.
Deep down I know this is super from a start of 156.5 (slow and steady, changing for the long term etc) but frustrating all the same.

Ready for a whoosh for sure.

Onwards

PearlsPearl · 13/08/2025 10:54

Thanks so much for all of the lunch suggestions. I think picky bits are the best idea, I bought eggs, babybels and Philadelphia as a result!

@ladyinwaiting99 I think side effects can't be helped too much if you're doing the right things like avoiding fatty foods, drinking loads of water, keeping focused on fibre and protein. Good luck and welcome to our thread!

@Missingducks here's wishig a whoosh for you!

Welcome and good luck. I started at 22 st in January and I’m currently 18st 6 and already my mobility is better. Any side effects I’ve had have passed and been tolerable. The worst was diarrhoea trying to go up to 7.5, so I went back down and increased slowly and it passed. I’m currently losing hair which I’m not so happy about 😬 but I’m willing to put up with that as long as it takes to lose my weight. I’m losing weight quite slowly, but I don’t want to go to 10mg in case my hair just falls out overnight and I wake up bald! But even slow, I’m getting smaller and healthier, have already gone from pre-diabetic to comfortably not diabetic. Health is my biggest motivation, but I can’t lie, I am enjoying fitting into clothes I’d grown out of!

Lds1 · 13/08/2025 12:00

I can't remember who was saying about everything slowing down but wanted you to know that I felt the same.

So I've had a look at my data and in the first 27 weeks I lost 35.9kg and got to my half way point after 32 weeks.

In the last 27 weeks I've lost 20.7kg, there's been weeks where there was no change but overall it's still going down even if it is more slowly.

Weigh in tomorrow so hopefully it'll be good!

ladyinwaiting99 · 13/08/2025 14:32

Thanks @Kay2000you sound like you’re doing brilliantly and great that you haven’t had many side effects, fingers crossed for the same 🫣😆

I think fitting into “nice” clothes is a distant dream for me at the moment, my first goal is to be able to go for a walk without being in pain!

Hi all! I've been away for a while, just catching up on all your news. Fell off the wagon a bit on holiday, then found myself doing the 'I'll start again tomorrow' dance for the last few days. I ate a pack of four chunky Kit Kats earlier, in secret. Horrible feeling but I suspect you've all been there. Tomorrow I'm going up to 7.5 as the 5 is clearly being hammered by my lunacy at the moment.

On another note, have any of you had any problems with your delivery not arriving in good time? I ordered my new pen yesterday, and received a notification saying it had been despatched at the usual kind of time. But today the tracking shows it still stuck in London. In this weather there's no way the chiller packs are going to survive 2 nights. No idea if it will be safe to use or not. I've messaged my provider about it but not heard back. Anyone experienced similar and how was it resolved?

I had something similar with my first order. Royal Mail decided it had to be signed for and then couldn't redeliver until Monday (Saturday lunchtime) I spoke to my provider and they said it'd be fine but did say it would be better to use it straight away if it had gotten a bit warm. Are you going up or is it the same dose? You can always call your provider I know some will accept it back and redeliver if it arrives warm.

WafflingDreamer · 13/08/2025 15:28

What is the longest anyone has left between orders, without having an issue? I order every pay day and now have 4 doses (1 due today) in 1 pen and another full pen. My last pen got delayed in processing so despite ordering 25/7 the label says 3/8.

I've never had an issue. My supplier asks if I've used MJ within the last two weeks I think. But definitely have waited 7 plus weeks between orders.

eibbed999 · 13/08/2025 16:15

It turned up this morning @WafflingDreamer, and although the ice in the packs was melted, it still felt ok so I popped it in the fridge. Sure it'll be fine, but it is an imperfect system!

PearlsPearl · 13/08/2025 17:02

My early days insomnia has come back now I've gone up to 5mg on Sunday. I saw the early hours every night since! It passed before though so I'll ride it out.

TheZingyFish · 13/08/2025 17:52

No weigh in for me this week as am away at my mother’s. I hadn't told her I was doing MJ but she noticed I’d lost weight so decided to tell her. Was dreading it as thought she’d be quite judgemental but it was actually quite emotional. She told me she was pleased and proud of me for taking action and was keen to know more.

I would always struggle with any diet when I was with her as we would eat out and get take aways but she’s been great. We’ve done takeaways and eaten out but am eating about half of what I was eating before with her. I don’t expect to have lost weight, in fact I might have put some on but this is like my holiday so I’m allowed to, this is normality for most people. Other meals have been small and I’m still drinking loads of water so this feels like a success.

Will report back with the damage next week!

mamabeeboo · 13/08/2025 19:12

@Kay2000 I saw your post about gaining 1lb at the end of the week and starting again on Monday. Something to consider if you haven't already is calorie cycling. When suppression is high have much less, and towards the end of the week, eat as normal, so you're considering your weekly calories rather than daily. I did this for a while and it enabled me to keep momentum throughout.

Kay2000 · 13/08/2025 19:24

@mamabeeboo Thanks, I probably do do this unintentionally, especially as I’ve started not eating, except fruit, until later on in the day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. But I hadn’t thought about actively trying to do this, I might give it a go. I weighed myself yesterday and because it was a Tuesday and suppression is higher, it didn’t trigger me at all, so I’ll probably stick to weighing sporadically, so I don’t have a start and end of the week. I used the machine at my doctors, for their records, and my BMI has gone from 53 to 44, so I’m happy.

TragicMuse · 13/08/2025 20:11

I’m thinking about that kind of thing @mamabeeboo - I tend to eat less when suppressed of course, but I want to break the habit of eating just because it’s a mealtime.

mamabeeboo · 13/08/2025 20:41

@Kay2000 definitely give it a go properly. Sometimes the intent to do it actively will make all the difference in keeping an eye on your calories. Chat gpt is a great tool to give you a calorie cycling target say for 1300 a day but for the first 3 days being 800 or something similar. Then you can factor in the increase in appetite and continue the weightloss!

@TragicMuse I have broken the mealtime habit! I hated being a slave to the time. It's almost like the clock hits 12 something or 6 or 7 something and I started salivating 🙄 regardless of when my last meal was.

The number one thing I have done - Keep busy! I deliberately plan things during what would have been lunch time. Whether it's work meetings or hair appt or exercise or phoning a friend or a nap! Even buy yourself time "I'll have lunch after I do the laundry /take a walk/take a bath". So at least you're getting used to pushing the mealtime back. Between 12-2pm and between 6-7pm I am at my most busiest during the day, deliberately.

I admit it hasn't been long, but I've tried my best to replace that eating time with something else and now food is becoming an after thought rather than the only thought.

I now do OMAD which I never thought I'd ever be capable of doing. And sometimes wonder how I had the physical time to eat so often 😳

AlicesMum2025 · 13/08/2025 21:41

Good evening all, it's been a mixed day here.

Bad news: I had to do an emergency trip to vet with doggy who got a grass seed stuck in her ear. They had to sedate her because she was freaking out when they tried to look in her ear, only to find that she had 4 in there!!!!! Luckily they were able to operate quickly and she's home now. Feeling sorry for herself and unsteady on her feet but she'll be fine. Such a relief.

Good news: at the gym this morning I did 6 reps with 2x 10kg dumbbells. That's how much weight I've lost!!! I'd told my trainer I wanted to be able to do it by the end of August and he was like 'I think you can do it sooner than that'. Then on a whim I just asked him to spot me while I tried and I only bloody did it!!

20kg (~3st 2lb) is blooming heavy. No way did I think I'd be able to lift it, and yet I've been carrying that around on my body for years...

AlicesMum2025 · 13/08/2025 21:44

Oh, and about the wobbly belly that someone was talking about a few days ago (so I can't remember who it was). You perfectly described mine.

The top half of my stomach has really shrunk but below my belly button is pretty much the same, except now it's really jiggly. Previously it was solid, but when I push on it, it ripples 😂

afaloren · 13/08/2025 21:55

Way to go @AlicesMum2025 !! I want to start adding weights into my routine now I’ve done four weeks at the gym. Don’t think I’ll be using 10kg weights though!

GnomeDePlume · 14/08/2025 07:06

Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 106.4kg BMI 41.6
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

That's 4 stone 11.5 lbs off. That 5 stone milestone is getting closer as is getting under 100kg.

I still cant quite believe that I have got this far without having counted a single calorie/point/syn. It just goes to show that I do know how to eat properly, I just have to keep with the habit of actually doing it.

Jeans making is progressing. At the rate I am going I will have slimmed down to the point where I can actually try them on!

The thing I am really appreciating with mounjaro at the moment is that it keeps working away in the background. There are lots of other things going on in my life with elderly mother dementia woes, work, exciting things happening with DCs. But the mounjaro is keeping me from going 'let's have a takeaway/bottle of wine/chocolate' to celebrate or comfort eat.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 14/08/2025 08:21

Well done @GnomeDePlume it’s weigh in and jab day for me too, another 2lbs off this week takes me to a 9 stone loss! Can’t quite believe it:

SW: 24st 13lbs
CW: 15st 12lbs
GW: ??

Total loss 9st 1lbs 🙌

Lds1 · 14/08/2025 08:33

Weigh day today!

Lost this week 1.8kg / 3 lb and 15.49 oz (must be some catch up from previous weeks)

I've hit 9 stone off and so so close to overweight, hopefully next week, as seems strange wanting to be overweight 😂

SW: 142.8kg / 22 stone, 6 lb and 13.12 oz
CW: 84.4kg / 13 stone, 4 lb and 1.12 oz
Total loss: 58.4kg / 9 stone, 2 lb and 12 oz
Loss to go: 24.4kg / 3 stone, 11 lb and 12.68 oz
BMI: 50.8 now 30(.03). I need to lose .2kg to get to overweight, hopefully next week!

GnomeDePlume · 14/08/2025 08:51

Very well done @MummyInTheNecropolis and @Lds1 I'm really impressed by the way you are still going strong.
