Our grocery bills have definitely reduced, no cakes, sweets, biscuits and general junk! We do still have deliveroo but my go to is a tuna subway salad once a fortnight, I really look forward to it! No supplements here either, well, that’s a lie - sorry! I take a high dose of vitamin d in the cold dark months and I do buy collagen powder to mix into my Greek yoghurt or cold brew coffee to increase my protein, oh and a box of Movicol every other month or so.

mamabeeboo · 11/08/2025 18:09

The biggest advice I can give is mindset. Weight is as much a mental battle as it is physical.

@Autumnflowers2 I hope you had a lovely time on holiday. Please be gentle on yourself. We have been overweight for a very long time and suddenly we can see the end that we are desperate to just get there. I get it. I'm 4 stone into my journey too with another 5 to go.

When I went on holiday in May. I gained 4lbs and within the first 2 days of being home, lost 2lbs. And it took 3 weeks to get my mind back out of holiday mode 🙄. I've lost a further 10kg since then which I wouldn't have done if I just gave up. So take your weight now with a pinch of salt.

@Onenotsosmallstep
As I said above, we have been overweight for so long that now we are suddenly impatient to lose it and the mind shakes when things don't go our way. I get it. It's taken me 15 years to be 9 stone overweight but now I'm pissed when I gain 1lb.

No one will lose this weight for ourselves but us. It's our job and our responsibility. We owe it to ourselves. It will take as long as it takes. Go back to your "why".
For me, I'm losing the weight for my kids, for myself, for my confidence, for my health, to not have weird looks, to not shop at plus size shops, to fit into seats, to live life like a normal human being!!!

Get back on the horse, give your head a wobble and carry on.

You have both got this and you're both doing an incredible job so far. And when we reach goal, my god how proud we will be!!!!!!! 🩷 🩷

I had my first real NSV today. A year or so ago I bought a long denim skirt; it was tight over the stomach, very tight, but I liked it and couldn't be bothered to return it. I convinced myself it was an ok fit, but it really wasn't as I could barely breathe, so into the back of the cupboard it went. Today, I tried it on and it fits... comfortably, with even a bit of room to spare. I've lost 1st 10lb since I started MJ and haven't really noticed a change in my shape so it was a really nice surprise.

Also, I had a team meeting in the office today (I usually work from home). Lots of colleagues ordered bacon or sausage rolls but I didn't even fancy one, and didn't feel deeply deprived (although they did smell great). I ate an orange and a small handful of cashews instead, feeling a little smug!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 11/08/2025 19:01

@Quitepossibly isn't it funny how when on a restricted calorie controlled diet we would have felt utterly miserable about not being able to have the bacon or sausage rolls. I’d have sulked all day, or if I’d have given in and eaten it I’d be beating myself up for being greedy and weak willed!
congrats on the skirt!

Quitepossibly · 11/08/2025 19:07

@Iwouldratherbesinging yes, totally. My rebellious streak would have kicked in and I'd have had the bacon roll, probably with an extra hash brown too! It's amazing how MJ has changed the way my brain (or gut!) feels about food.

Kay2000 · 11/08/2025 20:30

I’ve decided I’m stopping weighing myself as much. Not sure if anyone has the same problem I do? I weigh on a Friday morning and it seems to trigger my brain into “diet club mode” and I eat. It doesn’t help that I inject on a Sunday evening so my hunger suppression is basically gone by Saturday. So I eat more Friday, Saturday and Sunday (I guess I probably gain at least 1lb every weekend which is why my loss is slow) and come Monday morning I “start again”. I wasn’t like this in the beginning when MJ worked very well, but now it’s not as effective. So I’m going to weigh myself occasionally through the month, no beginning of the week, and no end, and see if I can break the habit 🤞🏻

I've been having similar thoughts but slightly different. I was weighing most days (thanks to Team RH for that), but then I'd lose sight of my weekly weigh ins and if I didnt lose something every day Id be disappointed, which is daft because Id have been thrilled with 1/2lbs pw on any diet before! So Im going to slow down to once per week, and see how I go with that.
I worry about diet mode as well because Im a real rebel and don't do well on a diet!

GnomeDePlume · 11/08/2025 21:35

My post weigh in treat is an extra 10g of All-Bran for breakfast. DH gave me a funny look when I told him that.

I'm enjoying my food more on mounjaro than I did before. We have eaten a lot more of our allotment produce than we did previously. I am really enjoying my vegetables. It does help that none of my food is coming with a side-order of guilt.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 11/08/2025 21:44

I’m the opposite @PinkArt and I weigh daily but only record it on a Tuesday. My weight fluctuates Up and down throughout the week but always rights itself by Tuesday weigh-in. I don’t think I’d manage if I could only weigh a few times each month, I’d panic!
I’ve completely broken that diet mentality habit of over eating on weigh day, the one where we reward ourselves (and basically undo everything we’ve done). Is it worth thinking about changing your injection day to avoid the weekend hunger? I constantly change mine around, some weeks I’ll inject a day later, some a day early.

Ahh! Sorry @PinkArt, I meant @Kay2000 - doh!

Ha, quite alright. I did wonder what I'd posted for that reply 😂
FWIW I officially weigh on a Friday morning, as that's the point in the week I've historically 'been good' for the longest. I've been weighting during the week too while on mounjaro and I'm trying to break that habit as I don't think it's healthy for me.

PearlsPearl · 11/08/2025 22:50

@Kay2000 diet mentality is so so hard to shift. I feel you.

Weigh less if it helps. I only do once a week but have avoided weeks when I’ve not felt good (or suspect a gain!). It doesn’t do me any good at all, I’d like to get down to monthly weighs but it feels too hard to do at the moment. Slave to the scales is a hard cycle to break

TragicMuse · 11/08/2025 23:21

It is a hard habit! I weigh daily but try not to let it dictate my day. I do like that Happy Scale gives a running average so the ups and downs are measured against each other not just in isolation.

I have a lovely lovely NSV.

My grandfather gave me a ring in about 1980, when I was 15. He was an antique dealer and it was in his shop. I admired it, he said ‘have it, sweetheart’. I wore it always. He died in 1988.

It was joined in 2002 by a little ring my dad had given my mum and which she passed on to me when dad died (they hadn’t been married for over 30 years at that point, she just thought I’d like it). So then I wore them together till a few years ago when my finger got too fat for the one from my grandfather.

I’ve been trying it on periodically. Tonight it fits again. Back where it belongs.

I’m very happy!

GnomeDePlume · 12/08/2025 05:28

That is a lovely NSV @TragicMuse

PearlsPearl · 12/08/2025 07:48

Love that nsv so much 💖

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 12/08/2025 10:36

I especially like NSVs concerning rings.

PearlsPearl · 12/08/2025 13:04

I don’t know what to eat 😞 at lunch. I don’t fancy anything. My go to of chicken and cottage cheese has started turning me off. I don’t want sandwiches or toast. I have no idea what I want anymore.

long gone are the days of hitting Greggs for my lunch!

How about a tuna salad? Or a couple of rice crackers spread with philadelphia and chopped up peppers & spring onions. And if you fancy a sweet fix, maybe a bowl of fruit with a dollop of greek yogurt & drizzle of maple syrup.

TragicMuse · 12/08/2025 13:35

Baby Bel, boiled eggs and cherry tomatoes are featuring in my lunches at the moment! Though I was thinking about some tuna mayo and ryvitas in the next few days…

afaloren · 12/08/2025 14:53

I have babybels almost every day for lunch. Usually with chopped up pepper/cucumber but today I had them with raspberries, which I’ve been eating more after reading they are good for fibre.

EverybodysALebowski · 12/08/2025 16:45

For lunch PearlsPearl how about half a package of microwaveable rice or lentils with some cheese, veg and some protein mixed through? I save half the packet for later, mix a handful of baby spinach (or chopped cherry tomatoes, or something) through the hot rice, then add feta or cottage cheese and usually chicken breast, but other protein would work too. The Tilda wholegrain rice and the mixed brown and wild rice are full of fibre and relatively filling, as are several of the Merchant Gourmet packets. Still only takes a few minutes.

Hi all! I've been away for a while, just catching up on all your news. Fell off the wagon a bit on holiday, then found myself doing the 'I'll start again tomorrow' dance for the last few days. I ate a pack of four chunky Kit Kats earlier, in secret. Horrible feeling but I suspect you've all been there. Tomorrow I'm going up to 7.5 as the 5 is clearly being hammered by my lunacy at the moment.

On another note, have any of you had any problems with your delivery not arriving in good time? I ordered my new pen yesterday, and received a notification saying it had been despatched at the usual kind of time. But today the tracking shows it still stuck in London. In this weather there's no way the chiller packs are going to survive 2 nights. No idea if it will be safe to use or not. I've messaged my provider about it but not heard back. Anyone experienced similar and how was it resolved?

TragicMuse · 13/08/2025 07:55

Week 25, 7.5mg

SW 19st 4lbs (Jan 2025, pre-MJ)
SW on MJ 18st 11.5lbs (1 Mar 2025)
CW 15st 5.5lbs
Loss this week 3lb
Total loss 54.5lbs

Interim GW (set by Nutracheck!) 14st 11lbs

Slightly irritated because on Sunday I was showing a 3lb loss. Then it bounced back up again!

Hoping to hit 4 stone off next week!

Step away from the Kitkats @eibbed999!

7.5 is really working for me. I’m on my 3rd or 4th at that dose and it’s pretty good, suppression etc lasts pretty much all week. Good luck!

Hello, I thought I would introduce myself as I’m really enjoying reading this thread.

I’m a teacher, weighed myself on the first day of the summer holiday after realising that I can’t walk well/far enough to do a lot of the days out that we’d planned.
I weighed 24 stone so set myself a goal of losing a stone by the end of the holidays.
I have lost 9lb doing low carb and have just taken my first dose of MJ this morning.

I’m a bit nervous as I took ozempic a couple of years ago and it made me so tired I could barely function.

If anybody has any tips to help avoid side effects I’d love to hear them.

Thank you all for sharing your stories, they’re so inspiring.
