Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

Exactly the same, @MrsHero! Only since 7.5mg. Not too troublesome, but looks unsightly..

sc0ttishlass · 05/08/2025 08:13

Loving all the updates. Great to hear all the wins and pleased people can share if they aren't having a win too..

I've been binge eating the last few days. Im on 7.5 and it's my TOTM so not sure if that's why and like others, I don't seem to see any patterns on this..every week can be slightly different. Im not feeling hungry till late in day and then im binge eating till end of day. Ill try having breakfast today and see what that does. I've ordered 10mg for next pen and in terms of weight loss its still going down but its made me really concerned about the long term. Im so.hoping it's linked to totm and I can accept that I have to work harder with cravings at that point. I wish I coukd stay on this for ever. I hope the.pill format to make more accessible isn't too far away!

Also I work for a large alcohol company and was reading yesterday another reason for drop in sales is WLI and effects on alcohol industry!

Mounjaroday · 05/08/2025 09:11

Had a long weekend away so just catching up. All these NSVs and achievements are fantastic!

Question-

One thing I realise I have struggled with is my build. I’m a little above average height (5’7”) and have always been a bit broader. It’s been commented on negatively a handful of times over the years.

Has anyone else been beating themselves up unnecessarily for not having a petite frame? It seems such wasted energy!

Forgot to do weigh-in!

SW 103.9kg
CW 73.3kg (0.5kg loss this week)
TW1 72.2kg
DW* 68kg

Still teetering in the overweight category! Come on already!

*dream weight

I feel you @Mounjaroday my BMI is 25.9, I'm not hugely bothered by BMI in general but it's so close!

Yes, my whole life. I'm average height I think (165cm) but I'm very broad with wide shoulders, big hands, and big feet. Spent my whole life wishing I could be small and delicate and dainty.

CoolLimeSheep · 05/08/2025 11:06

@Mounjaroday but can feel your frustration!

Drop in alcohol sales is probably down to me and me only 😂😂.
How interesting though that WLIs are having effects like this.

sc0ttishlass · 05/08/2025 13:17

@Dumplers too funny! I think it makes sense though. When I was on holiday in USA there was news articles about restaurants starting to offer smaller portion sizes, also due to wli! Obviously a kind of gimmick to get people in but it makes sense! I suspect there will be sales impacts to many large organisations. My cake and chocolate intake will be impacting waitrose haha!

Yes! I’m 5’9, I’ve felt huge my whole life. Too tall, too broad, too loud just always too much. I’ve always wanted to be smaller.

I’ve been trying to do a lot of accepting myself where I am and being kinder to myself.

There’s a spoken word poet on TikTok who did a piece about this recently about wanting to be smaller and it really hit home.

PurpleCoo · 05/08/2025 13:55

I definitely have a broad frame, but I am only 163cm, which I think is probably worse in some ways, as I guess I will always look short and stout. I remember being baffled when younger as sometimes I would get heckled with things like "you are strong", but I didn't want to be strong, I wanted to be feminine (or what I thought this meant at the time).

I think my perspective has changed as I have aged, and I am very good at dressing/styling myself in a way that is flattering to who/how I am and not trying to fit into whatever is fashionable at the moment. So I always get compliments about how I look, even when I was a size 16. I am known for having my own sense of style. I try to work with what I have, rather than working against myself.

A very recent thing for me, is meeting some of my body pump instructors. One is 53, 5ft nothing, and super strong! I met a new one last night, a younger Asian lady with amazing muscular shoulders and I just think what amazing, strong and inspirational women that really makes me rethink how I view women and their relationships with their bodies, and what a healthy body looks like.

sweetpickle2 · 05/08/2025 14:10

I’m 5’11” and my current weight is the smallest I’ve ever been as an adult so I’ve always felt large and ungainly! I definitely feel better at this weight though, more in proportion.

WoolerOwl · 05/08/2025 14:54

I always used to feel big too. I’m 173cm with big hands and feet and very long arms. I also have a long body (forever struggling to find t shirts that are long enough to reach at least my waistband, and dresses are often impossible because the proportions are all wrong). As a child, I always felt bigger than everyone else. And then when I was overweight too, it just felt worse.

I’m trying to be kinder to myself, and recognise that my BMI will always feel a bit high as a greater proportion of it is abdomen than legs!

WoolerOwl · 05/08/2025 15:03

On a separate note, I’m people watching at the all inclusive hotel buffet with interest. What do the thin people eat? I notice that they have much more colourful plates with a decent amount and variety of salad, and also fresh fruit. They are more likely to eat eggs or cold meats for breakfast. Maybe a slice of toast or a roll. And they drink water rather than juice or fizzy drinks. They don’t come back from the buffet with mountains of toast or pancakes or all the sweet baked goods. I mean, I guess I knew all that in theory and it’s not very scientific as an observation, but it is interesting. I have to face that I was overweight because I was eating too much and the wrong balance of things, especially not enough protein or fibre and too many calories from empty carbs. I am wondering how it will feel to try to make the choices I’m making now, without MJ. Have I developed enough new habits after nearly six months to stick with it?

Yep! Same here. I’m 5’ 10”, small hips, no bum, no waist. Have always felt unfeminine, too tall, too masculine looking. Then when I was heavier, even more so. Like a fat bloke. Now that I’m thin again, I just feel like I look sporty and boyish rather than manly. And that’s enough for me right now.

sc0ttishlass · 06/08/2025 07:32

Morning all week 27, stayed the same.
I think its interesting so many of us are hovering above the healthy BMI..what's that all about? Any science behind it or just the way it is!
Started 13 stone 5
Now 10 stone 1.5
Loss 45.5lb
Healthy bmi for me is under 10 stone 1..

I've had a really bad week eating wise on 7.5mg, my 10mg is arriving today. I've been eating lots of sweets and chocolates. Today is a new day /week so im starting afresh and going to dig deep for the willpower..

I've also been rubbish on drinking water.

So new week, onwards and downwards..

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 06/08/2025 07:35

@CoolLimeSheep you look great!!

I love the athletic look. I relate it to strength and resilience.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 06/08/2025 07:38

NSV been having lovely chats with a colleague who is also into clothes styles. Yesterday she actually asked me "what no more tops with black trousers" as I'm wearing such different clothes (patterns and styles) on this trip. 😁

Mounjaroday · 06/08/2025 09:33

Throwing in a few NSVs here -

  • Waist is less than half my height (33” versus 67”) 🎉🎉🎉
  • at the weekend I pranced about in public in a swimsuit and didn’t care a jot about it
  • my wedding ring stack that I was so thrilled to be able to wear again, after months and months of not being able to squeeze them on … are now too big.

WoolerOwl · 06/08/2025 09:59

I’m going to the gym! Week 1 Day 2 of Couch 2 5K. I can see I have more shape but definitely still have side panniers and a front pouch! Let’s see if I can run some of that off.

usedtobeaylis · 06/08/2025 10:33

I don't know whether yesterday was a good thing or a bad thing - my dinner plans changed unexpectedly at the absolute last minute and rather than faff about trying to find something to fit into my calories, I waited THREE HOURS until I got home where I knew I had better options for food, even though I was starving. I genuinely don't know whether it was a good thing that I was able to wait, or whether I'm being too rigid! I just couldn't be bothered trying to find a 'least worst' option and then be potentially dealing with heartburn etc. I do want to stick to my habits and decisions as much as possibly but there's a niggly feeling that I'm being too inflexible.

SpiralSister · 06/08/2025 11:21

Brilliant NSVs, warriors! 💐

I’m struggling a bit on 10mg, mainly to eat enough. I need to get more protein in. On a positive note though, did my measurements again today, it’s startling!

40.5 (lost 6.5 inches)
31 (lost 7)
40.5 (lost 7)

Still got 12 lbs to lose to reach healthily BMI, and 16 to goal. I’m in a 12-14 now, and I don’t want to go below a 12 ideally. I couldn’t be a 10, could I? Could I? 😂

sweetpickle2 · 06/08/2025 11:39

A NSV for me- going away this weekend where there's a pool, so pulled out my drawer of swimsuits (the usual) and bikinis (mostly with tags on where I've bought them but never brave enough to wear)- about 80% of it far too big for me, and I actually found a bikini in there that I think I look good in!

WoolerOwl · 06/08/2025 11:42

@SpiralSister Same thought processes here! Rationally, it’s because if I am a 12, then many of my 14 clothes will still fit though be a bit loose. If I’m a 10, that’s less likely. But psychologically, I think it goes deeper. I haven’t been a 10 since I was a student. It feels like a young person’s weight to me. I won’t know until I get to 68kg whether I’ve ended up a 10 or a 12. So I’m just going to take it as it comes, and if I need gradually to replace my 14s with 10s, after I’ve proven I can maintain, then so be it!
