Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

Yes I have a sweet tooth (and a savoury one, and a wine one) when not on MJ.

High quality dark chocolate is a good thing to have in the cupboard. Couple of squares after dinner as a treat.

We sometimes make Cherry & Almond snack bars. They are dead easy, no cooking needed and very delicious.
Step 1: whizz up

  • 200g of Medjool dates (de-stoned)
  • 130g of cashew nuts
  • 2 tbsp of almond extract
  • 50g of dried cherries
  • 50g of raisins
Step 2: roll into balls or shape into bars. Roll in flaked almonds. Step 3: pop in fridge. Voila.

Obviously making treats is always going to be better than grabbing a bag of something. The ingredients will be better and you’ll appreciate it more because of all the bloody effort.

I think also remembering that the food industry is working entirely against the health of the nation is useful. Tesco wants us to put that grab bag in our basket. Sainsbury wants us to think that having a full snack cupboard is entirely normal. That sliced bread is a healthy option. That desert after every meal is a ‘thing’. That a packet of crisps with lunch is the only way to live.

Etc etc. Well they can all fuck right off!

So good to see so many still doing so well! 👏 👏👏

I'm coming back into the fold. Have switched to Swift Doctor who have been excellent so far! Had enough of Oushk for many reasons!

laundryhamper · 11/10/2025 13:34

Brought back down to earth today - horrible muffin top in size 12 jeans in John Lewis and two M dresses in Zara were yards short of buttoning up. I can see how body dysmorphia could take hold. There is never a size at which you are satisfied.

CoolLimeSheep · 11/10/2025 14:41

@laundryhamper hope your ok! I was talking about this to my friend i want her stomach and she wants me legs 🤣 so we both decided no matter what weight we are there will always be something else we want to change. Sizing in clothes shops are so annoying arnt they and can deflate you. Ill be honest I still haven't been in clothes shops yet I just order off shein.
@Nomoretopswithblacktrousers how you doing?

I’d be interested to look into Swift. I’m also with Oushk, find it all a bit culty… just feel a bit stuck with them now as my BMI is low and I’m basically in maintenance, tho haven’t officially done it with Oushk yet.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 11/10/2025 16:11

@CoolLimeSheep Doing okay thank you. The last month has definitely been the hardest.

I didn't like the cultiness either!

Swift doctor is much smaller and you can choose RM or dpd. Also they were very fast to help and choosing delivery on a specific date was no issue at all. You can use MONJ for £10 off at the moment.

CoolLimeSheep · 11/10/2025 16:31

I trust all you lot so posting picture of my excess skin i am assuming its excess skin at the weight im at now and the fact my body fat percentage is within range now. It does took away quite nicely in leggings 🤣 although sometimes my belly button gets sore so use talcon powder at times

Mine looks v similar! I was wondering just the same as I injected this morning. Fat or loose skin? Probably a bit of both.

I’ve just bought size 10 silky trousers at M&S. Can’t believe it. Size 10!!! Not sure what to do about all the size 14 trousers that are just too big. Some look ok or have adjustable waists and can be worn loose. But if I lose another 3kg they may be falling down. I will have to see.

Photo of the size 10s, for proof! Would definitely look better with some control pants on, to hoick the stomach flab/skin in.

@Mounjaroday thank you for that recipe it sounds fab and right up my street. I forgot I used to do dates with peanut butter in middle and freeze them (can also dip in dark choc)..like snickers!
So well put about the food industry. When I grew up our house didnt havr a snack cupboard and we never ever had family sixes bags of crips..oh I also used to make a davina sugar free recipe of oatcakes which used maple syrup. Chikdren loved them. Need to start thinking about stuff like those again x

CoolLimeSheep · 11/10/2025 17:57

@WoolerOwl looking good! check you out. I tend to just wear leggings and shorts suck me in lol 😆 its strange really although its there and doesnt look brilliant im kinda starting to accept it

SpiralSister · 11/10/2025 19:05

@WoolerOwl looking gooooood!

CoolLimeSheep · 12/10/2025 00:15

@Mounjaroday ive never been a desert person but do still enjoy my crisps but I agree food industrys want you have deserts with every meal. My kids now think same even tho i never have but maybe ive taught them that somehow. I always struggled leave food on my plate till mj as thats what we were told to we could never do. I was a fussy child with food 😋 but now eat alot i wouldnt off

CoolLimeSheep · 12/10/2025 09:30

Weigh in day not much of a loss this week but still a loss
Sw 19.9
Cw 10.8.2
Gw 10.5
Pondering today wether to change goal weight to 10 stone🤔

usedtobeaylis · 12/10/2025 12:18

W34 Day 1
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st 8lb
Total loss: 3st 11lb

Gain of 1lb this week. Only lost half a stone in the last two months. Very slow going. Sigh. Just need to keep plugging away.

PurpleCoo · 12/10/2025 12:42

@WoolerOwl wow, look at you! You look tiny! Well done

I think the wobbly bits on my belly are fat rather than loose skin. It must be a bit loose, but mine seems a bit saggy rather than crepey, so I think it's minimal. I moisturise everyday with cuderm (due to allergies), so it's really not anything fancy. I do a lot of core work too, as I go to a more challenging mat pilates class where the instructor really makes us work hard. I have done 3 reformer classes now and feel quite able to progress to the more intermediate levels already. I like it. I have very tight hamstring muscles, so most exercises are done with bent legs on mat, but I can do straight legs with the reformer. It will do me so much good I imagine. Anyway, I digress, I think all the core work I do helps in the belly department for sure. My arms aren't too bad either and they were huge before (I felt they were disproportionate and made me look twice my size). I no longer feel that way and think they seem proportionate. There is still fat to lose, but there isn't really crepey skin. I am wearing lululemon swiftly long sleeves, which many say are tight in the arms, but it's fine for me. Most clothes were tight in the arm for me before, so that's a really meaningful achievement for me as it was a cause of dismay and self consciousness. Body pump and moisturising helps there I think.

SpiralSister · 12/10/2025 13:03

I think I’ve got loose skin and fat on the belly tbh!

My BMI is now 25.1 (grinds teeth). I’ve only lost 2lbs in the last 4 weeks (although, holiday).

It does help a lot to know that this is all normal, as so many of us are at goal/near goal on the thread..

WoolerOwl · 12/10/2025 14:20

I’m sure the core work helps and I definitely plan to find a Pilates or similar class after I’ve moved. But I’m still curious to know why such a disproportionately high amount of my remaining excess body fat is all congregated round my lower belly. The top half of my abdomen is ok and, as I mentioned the other day (did I mention? 😂), I can just see my ribs. But the bottom is a disaster zone. If you sliced off the front bum bag, I’d look great!

SpiralSister · 12/10/2025 14:37

Are you in peri or menopause, @WoolerOwl? I heard a theory (can’t cite sources, sorry!) that we store oestrogen in the fat cells in the belly, and the body holds onto it as oestrogen diminishes elsewhere. Certainly my experience - tum grew at an alarming rate and bottom flattened out. All without weight change.

Now I’m thinner, my tum is too, but it is still prominent..

WoolerOwl · 12/10/2025 15:04

That makes sense!

WoolerOwl · 12/10/2025 15:06

I’ve just put a load of trousers, mainly jeans, on a 60 degree wash to see if I can shrink them a bit. To be followed by the tumble dryer. Watch this space!

It may be a bit late but if you are happy with the quality, can you find a local seamstress to take them in? I've had almost all my wardrobe altered now and the clothes fit me actually better than before. Money really well spent and much cheaper than new clothes.

SpiralSister · 12/10/2025 15:20

I wish I had sussed this before, @Nomoretopswithblacktrousers! I bought some absolutely gorgeous wool trousers on Vinted, fabulous quality, but 5 inches too long, if you can imagine. I’m not even short! Took them along to seamstress - it’s going to be about £12.

Game changer!

Well done! Really a game changer as you say!

WoolerOwl · 12/10/2025 15:42

Yes, I’ve been taking the really nice things to the seamstress, who is amazing. But there are some things - Vinted or sale purchases - where it’s just not worth it but I like them enough to chance it with a hot wash and the tumble dryer.
