Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

Had a bad week- going up to 10mg has coincided with going up a dose on my SSRIs which I stupidly didn't consider, and as a result my brain has just been all over the place for the last 10 days. Really crazy mood swings, anxiety off the charts, and terrible nausea and vomiting. The SSRIs are life saving for me and more important to me than weight loss so I'm definitely going to do a smaller dose of jab on Monday and see if that helps things while my body gets used to the SSRIs.

Going out tomorrow evening where there will be drinking, but thinking I might just drive so I can not bother- I seem to get so drunk so quickly now and the sickness just isn't worth it.

usedtobeaylis · 01/08/2025 16:02

I'm really nervous about going up to 10mg. I'm thinking I can just go back to 7.5mg if it's bad but I don't want to lose a week to bad side effects. Did anyone NOT have bad side effects?

eleanorwish · 01/08/2025 16:44

@usedtobeaylis, I was fine going up to 10. Some mild nausea, trapped wind for a couple of days, the odd bit of constipation, but that was in my first couple of doses. I’ll be starting my 3rd 10mg pen in a couple of days

Slowrunning · 01/08/2025 17:07

I felt no different on 10mg than 7.5mg @usedtobeaylis

OntheTrainX · 01/08/2025 17:07

10mg…I am experiencing very unpleasant nausea during the two days after the injection, but no actual sickness and no other symptoms. I’m finishing WLI in 2 weeks’ time for good, so I’m putting up with the nausea because the suppression is welcome now I’m in the home straight with a few pounds to go.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 01/08/2025 17:28

Taper qn. My stomach is properly gurgling today. I don't remember it doing that whilst on Mj. Anyone noticed their stomach gurgling whilst on a full dose?

SpiralSister · 01/08/2025 18:53

My 10mg queasiness has now worn off nicely, the main side effect has been too much suppression for me. I have just tucked away a lemon sole though, which is the most I’ve eaten all week put together!

It’s clear that everyone has wildly different experiences at different stages - but at least you know you can go back down whenever you need to with clicks..

All the time! It's so noisy. It's worse when my stomach empties. I spend most of the time feeling like there's a boulder in my stomach but some days I can tell when it's emptying because the gurgling is 10x louder and then I have a couple of days of no boulder.

Maybe your stomach is doing the same?

How interesting. I haven't had a single noise in 5 months.

I wondered if it that empty stomach noise for the first time in months as Mj slows down digestion. 🤷‍♂️

usedtobeaylis · 01/08/2025 21:09

I think this might be a kind of NSV - my daughter asked me tonight why I laugh at everything. I realised in the split second when she said it that I have been so much happier the last few months because mostly I'm feeling so much better about myself. My heart is absolutely full at the fact that my daughter is thinking of me as someone who laughs at everything.

SpiralSister · 01/08/2025 21:39

That is beautiful, @usedtobeaylis

OntheTrainX · 01/08/2025 21:42

@usedtobeaylis that is a great NSV.

Dumplers · 01/08/2025 22:13

Took my last dose of my 7.5 pen today, debated about going up to 10 for my next prescription.
Went to sainsburys and a ginormous cake was reduced from £18 to £4, I left it on the shelf, think I'll stick with my 7.5 for now. 😂😂

Mounjaronewbie25 · 01/08/2025 22:47

Hi everyone! I forgot to update last weekend as was so busy! And for a very good reason, I got married! 😍 I felt amazing being nearly 5 and a half stone lighter. Only down side was my dress had got a little loose since my final fitting even though I had tried to maintain my weight and not lose too much more before the wedding, so a lot of emergency pinning and taping was involved 🤣

Last weeks results:

Highest weight - 16st 9.5
Mounjaro SW on 15.2.25 - 14st 12
CW - 11st 3 (27.7.25)

Loss this week: 2 lb
Total loss on Mounjaro: 51 lbs (3st 9)
Total loss overall: 76.5 lbs (5st 6.5)

OntheTrainX · 01/08/2025 22:59

Congrats!! @Mounjaronewbie25 Fabulous news.

WoolerOwl · 02/08/2025 06:54

This is definitely a humblebrag. I tried my swimming costumes on last night to pack for holiday (today!). Too big…

I should have tried them on sooner, I know. But I only bought the tankini top with my birthday money in May.

Found an old one that will do. But feeling a bit stupid that I didn’t realise. Definitely losing cms even when the scales are going down a bit more slowly.

76.5kg (12 stone exactly) this morning. Planning on lots of exercise while away.

SpiralSister · 02/08/2025 07:16

Congratulations, @Mounjaronewbie25! 🥂 How wonderful!

Weigh in today. I’ve lost 4 lbs this week, thanks to the super suppression of 10mg. I’ll do another week at this level and see how I go, because this is obviously not ideal.

SW: 15.5
CW: 11.8
TL: 3.11
GW: 10.5

Have a great weekend, warriors! 💐

Zibb · 02/08/2025 07:56

That's so lovely @usedtobeaylis

Congratulations @Mounjaronewbie25!

Well done everyone on all your losses and NSVs, bloody amazing all of you.

I'm still over here, stagnant and stalled. However, I think I am actually having a relapse of my mysterious illness from last year. Old symptoms are creeping back in, yesterday I felt terrible. Explains the extreme fatigue I've been feeling. Just like when I first started getting sick in 2023. Then it ruined 18 months of my life. Should have seen it coming really. I'm a little scared but doctor appointment booked and maybe I'll get answers this time around.

HoratioBum · 02/08/2025 08:56

Morning Warriors, thanks for the new thread!

I’m still hovering around The 14 stone mark and I’ve started taking iron tablets which is making it impossible to poo so hopefully once I’ve had a ‘movement’ It feels like I’d lose about half a stone!

I’m sorry, I realise that I’m almost every time I post I’m talking about my bowel movements! but I do suffer from IBS and so I tend to focus on my nethers more than most people…

I think 14 stone is a set point for me -I stayed at this weight for years while I was gaining weight so it doesn’t surprise me that my body is fighting me on the way down.

I’m averaging between 12 and 1300 cal a day although I know I could up my exercise a bit more. Going for a very long walk today on the beach which should get my steps in at least!

I’ve also come to the unhappy realisation that I just cannot drink alcohol and hope to lose weight. It does seem to be the thing that hinders my weight loss even a glass of wine even if it’s within my calories seems to set me back.

However, even though I haven’t lost weight, I am noticing clothes fitting better, so God knows what’s going on inside my body. I should have started taking measurements rather than relying on the scales, but that shipped has sailed now.

Hangryfastjo · 02/08/2025 09:02

Morning all.
Just taken jab 26, back down to 10mg. I did 2 at 12.5mg but its been too much nausea.
However, this week I put 1lb on 🤷‍♀️🤣

SW 14stone .5lb (although 2 years ago I was 15stone 9lb)
CW 10stone 13lb
GW 10stone 10lb (possibly 10stone 7lb)

I'm fine having put a lb on as I lost 4lb the week before, so just think of it as it all leveling out. I want to finish this 10mg pen then go down to 7.5mg and see how it goes.
I am worried about coming off MJ, but plan on going down and possibly sticking at 5mg (from a 7.5mg pen for cost reasons) if its working, till after Christmas.
My BMI at 10s10lb or 10s7lb is above 25, but I've maintained a high muscle mass so feel I'm fighting genetics going lower and would be too slim for a 53yr old 🤣

Sorry, sharing my plan here as no one IRL really understands what I'm saying 🤣

usedtobeaylis · 02/08/2025 09:25

@HoratioBum is it your own iron supplements or prescribed? I'm just wondering as I was reluctant to take iron for the same reason but I decided to try 'gentle iron' and have had no issues so far. I would recommend to anyone.

Brag away! I’ve had similar lately- in a fit of excitement early on, I bought a whole stack of size 14 clothes, never imagining that a couple of months later I’d be size 12. Went thru wardrobe yesterday and to my shame I found not one, not two, but THREE pieces of clothing, brand new with tags still attached, all size 14. Now too big. On to Vinted they go. Won’t be making that mistake again!

usedtobeaylis · 02/08/2025 11:25

I watched some really interesting videos about how much you actually need to eat to put on weight and it's quite eye opening. Basically the gist is that the packet of crisps is making no difference, its the continual under-estimation of how many calories are in your food that does it (apart from full on bingeing obviously). So one of the videos said that to put on a single lb of fat, you would need to eat 15 bags of Doritos in a single day, on top of your normal calories - so having one packet of crisps doesn't matter at all. But then they showed the difference between identical looking plates of food - sometimes an entire 700 calorie difference just depending on whether something is 'full fat' or what kind of oil it was cooked in etc. I've watched all the same kind of things before but never quite put it all together like that, people having a 'chicken salad' which sounds healthy but has more calories than the pizza you really wanted. I think this is why I find calorie counting so helpful. I used to devour baguettes that I was under the impression were quite healthy but now when I think about the actual baguette, the butter, the mayo etc - I must have been eating half my daily calories just in one baguette. Now I'd be more likely to have maybe half a baguette with fillings that I've actually thought about (although I haven't touched a baguette since starting Mounjaro - very rarely want bread).

That's a bit of a ramble but really to me just an indication of the brain space I have to actually think about this stuff properly instead of spending so much time battling compulsions and thinking about what would satisfy them. What a journey this is.

Checking in for the new thread. Official weigh day is Monday. Great to see everyone’s wins!

FunnyCrabDance · 02/08/2025 14:55

Thread 7, wow!
The mj break i was considering having after a terrible first week of 10 mg has been interesting.... And shown me exactly how much of the heavy lifting mj has been doing! Ive been hungry and really craving in a way I haven't for 6 months.
Quickly put an order in, which has now been put on hold by IQ Doctor as they want me to go down a strength level since its over 6 weeks since the last order, arghh, still waiting for order to be approved. So its now coming up to 2 weeks since a jab, ive gained a lb and am relying on will power and portion control alone, eekk.
Glad lots of people are doing well and huge congratulations @Mounjaronewbie25 xx
