Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

Wow! So much great news here today! Well done to everyone!!

@Hangryfastjo it's good to talk about tapering plans. I share your trepidation!

@usedtobeaylis That is my favourite NSV of the last 6 months. How sweet.

Also I agreed and disagree with the program. 😊😊 I agree calorie counting is about portion control. So many people who object to calorie counting on here say they don't want to do it because they know how many calories are in their food. Imo that's not the point - it is as you say about portion control. gets off soap box

Saying that the 200 extra calories here and there is still how I started to put weight back on - not from bingeing. Those extra calories add up so quickly. But it's of course good to hear a different perspective too!

@usedtobeaylisI’ve been taking Nutrition Geeks iron tablets but they’ve shut down my insides like a steel trap!!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 03/08/2025 06:18

dances around the room

My scale finally shows a weight beginning with a 6. 69.8kg or 10 stone 13.9 lbs but it finally starts with a 6! After 3 crazy weeks of my scale bouncing all over the shop, I'm really happy to see this!!
Only 1.6kg to my main goal and being off Mj. I can do this!

I’m at 71.4kg this morning so hopefully only a couple of weeks behind you.

Week 24 Day 1
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 13st 3lb
Loss this week: 1lb
Total loss: 3st 2lb

I am officially overweight, BMI 29.9!

If I had logged my weight yesterday it would have been 13st 1lb and so so close to the 12s. I can't even imagine that, it makes my overall target weight sound so much closer. And yet bizarrely, most of my clothes are still the same size. I do have those jeans and a dress that are a size down but nothing else. Is this a height thing maybe? I'm a few inches taller than the average for women. My stomach is doing ok I think, it seems to shrinking proportionately, but my hips are hanging on for dear life. I tried to find exercises that are good for the hips but all I get is endless, endless people smartly saying 'you can't spot target' and that's honestly such an unhelpful response. If I'm in a calorie deficit and doing overhead presses five times a day then that will not help my hips - asking for exercises that do help isn't necessarily looking to spot target, it's looking for something that is helpful for that area, which overhead presses aren't. Is it just me?

I've also nipped my dose up to 8mg this week. I decided against going up to 10 as I'm pretty happy with what is ultimately steady loss. I could go up to 8mg and still get the same number of doses out the pen. Hopefully it will just give a wee extra boost at the end of the week when I feel more hunger and food noise.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 03/08/2025 09:42

@Slowrunning Thank you and I'm sure you'll be in the 6s before long too! Keep on running 😁

I can recommend spatone iron sachets, they're better absorbed than pills, and you just pour it into some orange juice. And they haven't affected my bowels at all!

PurpleCoo · 03/08/2025 13:14

So lovely to hear about everyone's losses and NSVs. A wedding too, such lovely news.

I haven't had a good week. On the positive side, I haven't exactly had a bad week, even though I have gained.

So I gained a kilo on weigh in day on Friday. But TOTM today, so I know it's related to that, so I'm not too disheartened.

I have been struggling to find the time to track (it's the typing in recipes when you cook everything from scratch...), but I haven't let this be a license to eat loads, or stop weighing my food. Without a doubt if I had tracked, I would be slightly over my allowance. But again, this is falling when my appetite always increases pre menstrual anyway.

I am doing quite well with my exercise after a bad spell that was due to circumstances beyond my control. I had to stop body pump for a week because of a shoulder injury, which led to me feeling like I was going to turn into a wobbly blob and lose all my muscle. I would obviously sooner have my old girl back with us, but now it's just me and the mad wee fella walking, we can do lots of long fast hikes again so my step count is back to normal. I have now added Pilates to my weekly classes as well, so there is more ab/core work in my regime. My gosh, why did I do that at 8:15am on a Saturday? My abs hurt so much for the rest of the day!! On Friday I did body pump for the first time in over a week which felt great, followed by an hours swim, followed by an 8 mile hike. I need to get some hills in as will be doing Meall a'Bhuachaille in a few weeks as a warm up for Snowdon in September.

Had to laugh in Pilates yesterday, my size 16 leggings were so loose and saggy. I usually wear clothes until they are only good for the bin, but I don't think I can do that with these! Also removing size 16 t shirts from circulation, they are just way to big now, and I risk exposing myself every time I bend forward. Most of my leggings/t shirts are size 14 thankfully, as that's been my default size for most of my life. It's only really been the last year or so I had to resort to size 16s, hence why they are all mostly in good condition.

I went up to 6.25mg yesterday as 5 wasn't working as much as I wanted. It's hard to judge if it's making a difference yet, as having hormonal hunger. It's much better than the days before MJ though, when I could eat all day for those few days.

I am hoping I am due a big whoosh. I have noticed that my torso, including back has gone really jiggly. I have never really been jiggly, even at my heaviest. I have been the same weight now for several weeks and read that this jiggliness can precede a whoosh, so I am hoping that's the case as I really don't like all this squishiness, especially as it's bulging over my bra. I don't think it's because bra is too tight, it's just so soft and squishy it sinks in if that makes sense? Only noticed it the last few days, and my boobs have also shrunk loads in the last couple of days too

Does it taste awful though? That's always been my issue with drinkable iron supplements

WoolerOwl · 03/08/2025 16:03

Exercise update! I’ve done two PT sessions in the park near home. I can feel muscles I’d forgotten I had. It hurts when I roll over in my sleep! I am glad I am doing it and the PT is both gentle and pushes me to do as much as I can, which feels like a good combination. I’m glad I made myself get started, as I’ve been thinking about this for months but feeling too foolish to begin.

We arrived on holiday yesterday. I’ve done some gentle lengths of swimming in the nice long pool. And Day 1 of Couch to 5K on the treadmill in the gym. My teenager then supervised me doing some arm weights. I am feeble, but, as he said, at least you’re here and doing it and you will get better.

Foodwise, I notice that my appetite is a bit higher and I think I will need to go up a dose next month. But I also notice the difference with the hotel all inclusive buffet compared to last time we stayed here. I just did a very small bowl of porridge/fruit and a hard boiled egg for breakfast. Salad and smoked chicken for lunch. Much smaller portions, higher protein, and staying away from the beige food and puddings. Plenty of water to drink.

I hope to keep going like this for the rest of the week, swimming and gentle walking every day, and four gym sessions in total across seven days.

I am writing this all up to keep myself accountable. Though the full length mirrors in the shower room are quite the motivator too. My goodness, I am saggy.

PurpleCoo · 03/08/2025 16:40

I have just popped into Mountain Warehouse as they had a sale on and my size 16 walking trousers are falling down. I don't want to spend a lot knowing I will keep shrinking. I know they are generous sizes but I am comfortably in their size 12 trousers! Even better, they still do Blue Light discount (15%) on sale items, so got some quick dry trousers and fleece lined trousers for less than £30. Delighted in so many ways

I can't taste it at all! Which i was surprised at, but it's great.

usedtobeaylis · 03/08/2025 18:36

Oh my God I took 8mg this morning but I am so hungry. So so hungry.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 03/08/2025 19:05

Especially of late, I have felt hungrier the day of and the day after Id jabbed. It was probably more it took 3 days for mj to have an effect now and the mj in my system had run out but I know what you mean!

Zibb · 03/08/2025 19:26

My extra hungry days are always so random, no rhyme or reason to them.

I'm due to jab tonight and I'm not hungry at all but on Tuesday and Wednesday I was ridiculously hungry.

UsernameShmusername2024 · 03/08/2025 21:50

Thanks for the new thread- just catching up after a busy few days.
I go abroad later this week, still have A LOT to lose but am so happy that I started MJ when I did and am going away 73lbs lighter than I was in Feb!
I'm currently on 10mg and haven't felt much effect tbh, 7.5mg had started to wear off a few weeks ago and I expected to feel more suppression again when I started 10mg but it feels just the same as 7.5mg for my final pen of that, I.e. I'm quite hungry! Suppose it's making me use willpower which is a good thing...

usedtobeaylis · 03/08/2025 22:05

Amazingly managed to only go 93 calories over today. For all I have been really hungry I still didn't really want to binge and still felt full after my meals. The extra calories are basically some plain crackers. Amazing how Mounjaro is still working even though I feel like it's not.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 03/08/2025 22:39

I also have a lot of travel in the next few weeks. Today, I checked out the menus on the plane and the best places for a certain local delicacy in one place.

This screams food noise to me but it's the hopefully good part? of food noise. I am back to enjoying food again which is a relief.

At some point I need to give some thought to what are my unhealthy food noise habits like spending hours looking at what's new in supermarkets. I mean why? It's not anything I'm likely to eat and so few things are actually going to taste any good.

Didn't see any of that coming when I started this post. I would love to know if others think food noise can be good and bad?

CoolLimeSheep · 04/08/2025 06:59

Well done everyone on your losses and going down sizes. As of this morning after scales putting on with exercise and getting frustrated with myself ive lost again.
In 2 weeks will be a whole year ive been on mj and 1.2lb of losing 8 stone
Sw 19.9lb
Cw 11.10.2lb
Gw still thinking to taper off now as im happy as I am just need get rid of the 1lb I reckon. Not been this weight for 10 years!
Keep going everyone amd hope you all have a successfull week 😀

sweetpickle2 · 04/08/2025 09:43

A big well done to all the scale and NS victories, lovely to see!

Jab day for me-

CW 82kg
SW 107.8kg

Have counted clicks and done 7.5mg today as can't handle another week of feeling like the last two, hoping that will still suppress enough but without as bad side effects.

Have a good week all!

sweetpickle2 · 04/08/2025 09:57

Just realised my current weight puts me in the 12 stone bracket, which I haven't seen since I was about 19!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 04/08/2025 10:13

I have never bought a pair of shoes at the airport until this morning when I had to buy 4! Other shoes were too big and the pads and stuff weren't working.

Just a few weeks ago, even when it wasn't hot my feet fitted fine. Funny, sort of.

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 04/08/2025 15:39

Loving everyone sharing their good news. I've had a full week back on it and it's so strange, maybe my body still remembers from before but I don't feel any difference to when i had the break from it. I've been hungry and I've been able to eat what I want.

Result is no loss for me this week, I'm sure it will come, maybe I'll increase my dose before the end of the first month, maybe not, I'll just keep going for now!

MrsHero · 04/08/2025 23:14

I accidentally left my swimsuit at home on holiday, and this afternoon's hasty run around the shop has resulted in a bikini! I've never owned a bikini in my adult life! Granted it's high waisted, but so pleased! Weighed this morning and I've got 0.2lb to go to a 2st loss, so really hoping I can manage that little drop whilst away!

Also, since on 7.5mg I've been getting an itchy red site reaction after jabbing which I never had on lower doses. Anyone else experienced similar?

WoolerOwl · 05/08/2025 06:26

Yes, @MrsHero , I do. I take an antihistamine on the day of the jab, and it sorts it. (Fexofenadine)
