Well my goodness. Thread 7. Warriors, we are 6 months in! How life has changed.

To all of you who have made it: many, many congratulations and good luck with the continued maintenance. To the rest of the team still climbing that mountain: we got this, let’s bloody go!!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4 stone
CW 73.4kg / 11.6 stone
TW 72.2kg / 11.4 stone (top end healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg / 10.7 stone

Reeeeeeally want to get to target weight before holiday in 10 days time so time really is ticking now! Feel like one of the Lionesses: must keep my cool, bang it in the back of the net and get the job done.

You are all absolutely amazing and the continued support on this group is incredible.

Onwards and downwards! Godspeed for thread 7! xx

P.S. have clearly plagiarised some phrases from some of you good people. Hope you don’t mind: feel they’re part of our thing as a group now so please take it as flattery!

This is the last day of holiday. I’m going to resist the temptation to step on the scales as soon as I get home, and wait until monthly weigh in on the 26th. I hope I’ve lost some! I’ve swum every day. I’ve done three sessions of Couch to 5K, one personal trainer session on Zoom, and three lots of gentle weights. I’ve taken a gentle walk every day after dinner. I’ve been ok with the AI buffet and had plenty of protein and salad.

What’s changed is that I now feel like a person who does exercise. After my teenager walked me through it, I’m not afraid to be in the gym, and could ignore all the big blokes doing big weights. After six days here, the four flights of stairs to our room are doable without being out of puff.

I’d really like to continue being active, whatever the scales say. I feel stronger and fitter already. I’m trying to view this not just as weight loss but as life changes that will see me through my fifties and beyond.

I treated myself to a deep tissue and hot stone massage this afternoon. It was very bracing! I feel an inch taller!

Zibb · 08/08/2025 15:42

25 weeks of daily weighing. 39.4kg down. 19.6kg to go.
It's getting really difficult now, even with being on a higher dose, and all of the healthy changes I've made. I'm eating an average of 1620 calories a day now. I can't deal with only 1200. GP appointment today, he agrees I'm getting sick again. I'm worried but at least I can't be fobbed off and told my weight is causing it anymore. So maybe I'll get somewhere this time around. I don't know what I'll do about Mounjaro.

Congratulations everyone on your SVs and NSVs! It's honestly amazing what everyone has achieved.

Well done, @Zibb. That’s an amazing loss over 25 weeks. Sorry about the health troubles though.

usedtobeaylis · 08/08/2025 18:01

I'm hoping for a maintain this week, I've had so much on - I've eaten fairly well but exercise has been all over the place due to time constraints.

I'm so confused about my clothes and why I'm still the same size. I had a pair of Gap pyjamas in size L which I randomly tried on because I had no other pyjamas in the drawer, and they fit me. They were previously far too small, as in I couldn't even get the top on properly. I know I should be glad they fit me because it is visible progress + they didn't fit and not they do - but when I looked it up it said Gap size large is equivalent to size 16-18??!!! I feel like I've got absolutely nowhere even though I KNOW that's not the case.

Sizing is wild. Especially if something you’re trying on.

My size 12 jeans from M&S are getting too loose, they’re from last year and this year. So you’d think my size 10’s that I’ve been saving for 10+yrs would fit! But nope still too tight to wear comfortably. I’ve got size 16 T-shirts that still look fine and size 10 blouses that are also fine!

Absolutely do not go off sizing of clothes for your progress!

PurpleCoo · 08/08/2025 18:40

@usedtobeaylis I think clothes can be such a mixed bag with sizes. I'm still in a lot of the same clothes. Admittedly the drawstrings on my PJs are drawn in tight, and I have to wear belts with a lot of my dresses and hiking trousers as I'm a bit lost in them now, but some things don't look too big at all, so I could easily think I haven't reduced a clothes size when looking at those. But then other clothes are just impossible to wear because they look ridiculously huge on me. Have you changed shape at all? I'm an F cup, so I always need big tops, and I will unlikely to ever be a size 10. Same with my bum, especially now I'm doing so many squats and lunges, my backside will still be massive. I just bought some new size 14 fitted tops, which is only one size smaller than I started at, and they fit just right, which seems odd when I have lost so much weight, but I tried on the 12 and it was just too clingy. But I think I looked good in the 14, it hugs the body to emphasise my hourglass figure without drawing attention to every lump and bump, so I would sooner wear the bigger size, even though it doesn't show as much of a loss in that sense.

Are you tall? If so, you will likely have a larger frame as well.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 08/08/2025 18:43

I'm in maintaining territory too at the moment. I'd like to lose a couple more lbs but I'm equally pleased that I've not put anything on whilst tapering off.

There's very little in my system now but I may do one or two more shots. Feeling ready ish to come off but I will miss the anti inflammatory benefits for my joints!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 08/08/2025 20:48

I'm really glad to be back to enjoying food again though. DH made the most amazing burgers tonight and I appreciated it even more than life before mj.

SpiralSister · 09/08/2025 08:02

Morning warriors! Weigh in day for me. Well, after the shock 4lbs off in my first week of 10mg, I’ve gone back down to a more sensible 1lb off this week. It’s a bit puzzling though, as I struggled to eat enough until Thursday. I guess my body is recalibrating - that’s good.

SW: 15.5
CW: 11.7
TL: 3.12 (I’d really like to hit 4 stone off soon!)
GW: somewhere between 10.5 and 10.9 (top of healthy BMI)

Have a great weekend everyone! Keep the NSVs coming - love ‘em 💐

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 09/08/2025 08:33

I'd turned the fridge I hide my Mounjaro in up during the hot weather and forgot to turn it down again. Hello one frozen needle of mounjaro! There wasn't a lot left and I needed to decide when to stop anyhow - that's decided then. 😮😮

Now the fun really begins - fuck!

Not especially tall but taller than the average height for women which I think is why nobody believed I was the starting weight I was. I'm just so baffled by the sizing - there is so much vanity sizing so what the heck size will I be if I lose the next 3 stone if I haven't even managed to lose a size for this 3 I've just lost? How do you lose 3 stone and just stay a size 16 for the whole time? I know I've lost weight, the evidence is in the scales and how I look and admittedly my clothes do fit better. It's just insane to me that 3 stone doesn't equate to any change in size. I want to join the Vinted shoppers but I've no justification to yet 😂

Zibb · 09/08/2025 15:29

@usedtobeaylis have you actually tried on a smaller size? Do you take your measurements? Because you will have changed a fair bit after a 3 stone loss. Perhaps your current size doesn't fit as well as you think and a 14 will fit better? I

I was doing that. Wearing size 20, thinking it was a bit loose but still fine, and I didn't see just how much they didn't fit until my DH took a picture of me wearing my "nice" work outfit.

Either that or you will lose another half a stone and all of a sudden be a size 12 🤣

Ultimately I don't think the number on the label matters, wear what looks good and makes you feel good! You know you have changed, that you feel better, that's what matters.

Zibb · 09/08/2025 15:31

100% only a couple of 14s fit me - my hips are a big stumbling block to getting into a smaller size. It's just so weird. I'm not raging about it, just totally confused as to how you can lose that much weight and not really be anywhere near a size down.

I love the picture though 😂😂 I remember my mum most a bit of weight about 20 years ago and we were all going on a night out and she looked not dissimilar to that 😅

WoolerOwl · 09/08/2025 17:11

I’m back from holiday and in a mood to do some more sorting out. I’m going to have a big try on of autumn clothes tomorrow and aim for another load to go to EBay or the charity shop.

I was marvelling as we went through check-in today that my suitcase weighed 14kg and my son’s 10kg. The total weight of the two is what I should have lost by the end of August. I cannot believe I was carrying all that around. Except actually I can, because last year on holiday I remember really struggling with steps and trolleys and both lifting and walking too far. I feel very different now.

Ke11 · 09/08/2025 20:21

Hi all, been a few weeks but I've been carrying on as usual. Finally got round to catching up on the threads and thought I'd better check in. Well done everyone on the progress.

Sw: 116.5kg
Cw: 81.2kg
Total loss so far: 35.3kg

I'm still on 10mg, just started a new pen and will likely order 10 for the next one. I feel like I've settled on this dose now, minimal side effects but enough of a restriction on eating that I can't binge, small meals only. I'm about 9kg from a healthy bmi (72kg), my goal is 70kg but I'd love to get to 65kg and be in the middle of healthy bmi. Im going on holiday in November so I'd like to be as close to 70 as possible for that, 12 weeks 11.2kg, it's not impossible but not easy either. I get the feeling that the rate of loss will slow as I get closer to a healthy bmi.

I found a birthday card today with pictures of me from Jan last year and I was shocked, I now recognise how fat I was, at the time I recognised I was big but really didn't see how bad it was in the mirror. I can hardly believe how my face looked then. I dug out the pair of snug jeans I kept from my start weight and again they look absolutely massive now, I can't believe I actually used to wear them.

I tried on size 12 m&s jeans a few days ago and they fit, fairly tight but still did up without a fight. I feel like I could be a size 10 when I get to goal which is unbelievable to me.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 09/08/2025 20:24

Today I bought a dress with horizontal stripes. DH has neve. seen me wear horizontal stripes because it used to look so unflattering. And I always used to wear trousers because I didn't want my legs on show. A good day!

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 10/08/2025 03:09

I do a lot of shift work which seems to make chronic inflammation worse. I've just contacted Pharmalous about maintenance and said I only want to order every 8 weeks. The risks of chronic inflammation genuinely concern me. Let's see what happens with Pharmalous.

CoolLimeSheep · 10/08/2025 06:19

Well little update ive managed gain 2lb have been hungrier this week which i haven't felt in a year or the fact im still aching and struggling with pain from legs bums and tums. Muscles hurt in places ive never felt before although im happy with myself cant help but hate the scales going up. I think I may reorder 10mg again 🤔 and is anyone's periods messing up. I have always had irregular periods but mounjaro made me regular then it's gone irregular again it's driving me mad!
To the person who is struggling with sizes I can honestly say I think it took me 6 months to stop wearing my massive clothes(had comments saying you need new clothes there too big ) or even see a real difference in myself. Just keep going it will change soon definitely would say our mind is our own worst enemy 💯

sc0ttishlass · 10/08/2025 08:28

@WoolerOwl I did same as you on holiday..on walking to car lugging heavy case it made me think i was carrying that around all the time. It made me think hoe unhealthy I really was. Strangely I probably thought of myself as healthy before, as my meals were generally all good.. just the binging that wasn't!

@Zibb love the picture. That's how I feel going to work now! I only go to office once or twice a week but definitely need new black trousers..any recommendations? I've also been tucking tops.in which I've never done in my life, which let's me get away with some larger tops I think..

That works out at just under 3 stone lost, or the weight of my holiday suitcase. Only 3 people have said anything - two of my nosier neighbours plus a woman at work.

Been in 10mg for 2-3 months and don’t have any side effects any more apart from losing hair.

Now just 3kg away from target weight!!!!

I am very very worried about stopping though. I have had to take two pauses due to surgery and a work trip and there was a spike in my weight both times. I stopped for 2.5 weeks for the surgery and my weight went up 3kg!!

The thing I am enjoying the most is that I’ve been going through my clothes and trying all kinds of things on that haven’t fitted me for ages. Still can’t get into 30in waist jeans though. That lower tummy area is not going anywhere!!!

Th other thing is that I have suffered for about ten years with swelling in my left leg every summer. Makes it difficult to wear nice shoes and makes bending my left knee painful. I used to wear hot and tight compression bandages to keep it down. But this summer it has hardly swelled at all, even when I did a long distance work trip with very long flights.

W25 Day 1
Week 2 on 8mg

SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 13st 1lb
Loss this week: 2lb
Total loss: 3st 4lb

Really surprised to have a loss but I think that might be the benefit of changing up your food a bit sometimes. I stayed within my calories for the most part this week but ate a lot more oats and rice than normal. I've felt for years that the odd carb increase can boost losses and I've found that maybe 2-3 times since Feb. Have hardly exercised at all this week and am pre-menstrual so a very decent 2lb off.

Is anyone still finding themselves really quite repulsed by some foods? I've gone off bread so much since February, even when I'm snacky I just never consider toast. Also tuna, which I can't even look at.

Ke11 · 10/08/2025 14:33

@usedtobeaylis I'm similar with foods now, thinking about anything deep fried makes me feel quite sick, I used to love our family fish and chip takeaway most Fridays not anymore. Saved loads on takeaway junk.

Similar with sweet stuff, we had a lemon drizzle cake at work for someone's birthday, only a small one from M&S and could not stomach more than two bites from my already small piece.

Even chocolate, something I'm sure I was fully addicted to has become boring. I'll have the occasional bit of orange chocolate but where I would previously have consumed at least 2 packs over the course of a single film of the M&S orange buttons, I took a week to finish one pack last time. I'll have a few bites and then actively want to put them away.

I'm the same with sweet stuff although I do have the odd thing eg this week I had a packet of rolos - imagjne it being such a rare occurrence that it's noteworthy 😅

I'm so sad about the tuna though, it would be a good source of protein and an easy thing to make a meal around. I just can't even contemplate eating it. Conversely pre-mounjaro I could hardly eat eggs whereas I eat them almost daily now.

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 10/08/2025 15:27

On the changed taste buds front I haven't eaten a single crisp since February. I would find that statement practically unbelievable if I hadn't taken a second look at the crisps near the check outs just yesterday. If I don't end up being represcribed Mounjaro in the next few weeks I suspect I'll have eaten some by the end of September.
