Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

1lb off for me this week.

Do you think anyone has actually gone bald from the jabs??? I have been losing a crazy amount of hair from the start but I wasn’t all that bothered cause it has always been soo thick. Not after over 6 months of it thining out I really don’t want to keep losing it or I will have none left.

blanketsnuggler · 09/10/2025 22:58

Yes, I'm starting to worry about my thinning hair too.

I'm taking multi vitamins, and someone suggested biotin. Has anyone had success with biotin? or anything?
This time last year I was 4 stone heavier, and have lost just over 3 stone since starting the jabs at the start of April.

vl888 · 10/10/2025 10:51

Bit of an opposite NSV - perhaps a NSD (Non-Scale-Defeat)

May be unrelated but I have developed Foot Drop (cant lift the front of my foot/toes and have numbness down leg). Having to go for various tests, but one possibility is due to losing weight, sitting with crossed legs (which I never used to be able to do!) and due to no fat padding on my knees, a nerve can be compressed. Apparently it's called 'Slimmers Paralysis' 🙄🙄

Could be many other things and won't know until i have more tests though. Really annoying as my foot is dragging / I keep tripping over when out walking. 10 day wait for a blood test in this area so just have to get on with it. Considering going private for Physio as I know it'll probably be a massive wait list through NHS 😓😓

QS90 · 10/10/2025 12:05

Oh no! Sorry to hear that @vl888 How long is the recovery on Foot Drop? X

Thanks 🙁
3-12 months generally, but depends on the cause!

Squiffy01 · 10/10/2025 18:46

@vl888 that sounds horrendous! I’m sorry you are having to deal with that.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 10/10/2025 23:38

@vl888 sorry for your NSD 🥲. I was going to come on and rant about my continued plateau but your experience puts it into perspective. I truly hope it subsides soon 🤞

SeaDippingandLattes · 11/10/2025 07:19

@vl888 really hoping it is something that can be overcome quickly xxx

After a stellar 5 months dropping 2.5 stone and feeling high as a kite I have been wobbling around on 10st 7 (can be 2lb up or down) for nearly two months now and it’s making me feel really low.

This is BMI 27. I look 1000 times better than before and was delighted with myself. However I have been titrating down hoping to lose more on a smaller dose. I went up a dose each month to max 10 for one month - then back down to 7.5. Tried a 3.75 dose from that pen, then didn’t take any for 2 weeks. Then back on 5mg for last few weeks. This titrating down, missing a week etc has coincided with food noise coming back, me feeling low and being stuck at this weight. I have also now experienced bad explosive diarrhoea for the past 2 weeks for 3 days 3 days after I jab.
Never had this side effect when I started MJ - don’t know why it’s happening now?

I don’t know why I titrated down when I still needed to shift another stone to get to a healthy BMI. I suppose I should be grateful that I have stayed the same for the past few months. I think I was trying to save money after the price increase and also all the feedback from people who had lost weight by staying on the lower doses. I am also in sabotage head mode now - convinced that if I come off MJ or titrate down to 2.5 I will have all the weight back on by Christmas. Feel a bit of a mental spiral. Maybe imposter syndrome - I don’t deserve to be slim?

Sorry for the rambling. I found it helpful to read that some people like me lost the first 10kg in 10 weeks but the next 10kg took 6-12 months.

Don’t know if I should bump it back up to 7.5? I am also not exercising, flirting with joining and gym and run club (but the explosive diarrhoea the last two weeks out a stop to that). I have been back to my bad eating habits - biscuits, choc, crisps - they are not satisfying but the cravings although not as intense are back.

SaddlebagSal · 11/10/2025 10:46

I came on to complain about my plateau too. I’ve lost and gained the same 3lb for the last month. It is very dispiriting but I’m keeping on and still assuming it’s my body hanging on to fat reserves that have been there a very long time.

I’m on 13.75mg at the moment (15mg was too much but 12.5mg wasn’t working).

@knackredd I’m getting stuck at BMI 28, I’ve lost a similar amount of weight to you and feel better for it and have had a few nice comments. I’ve not got strong cravings or food noise although I do have the odd “bad” day. If it wasn’t for the bad gastric side effects I’d say to keep nudging up your dose until your cravings and food noise subside. Have you considered splitting your dose so have half the amount twice a week? Maybe that will help.

knackredd · 11/10/2025 11:43

Thankyou @SaddlebagSal - I am cross with myself for mucking about with the doses. I am really surprised at this SE at this stage at this low dose. Bit of a rock and a hard place. Need to make a decision to go back up to 7.5 and split the dose as you say or tough it out on 5.

I am also feeling defeatist as the weight loss has been easy and passive. I knew that at this point I would need to introduce exercise for muscle, health and absorbing the loose skin - but as ever I am procrastinating, sabotaging and being lazy. Think I need another medication that gives me motivation to exercise.

@knackredd if you find one that works then please let me know! Grin

Uninvitedleaf · 12/10/2025 09:49

Morning all!

It’s exactly half a year today since I started (26 weeks) so I’ve been in a reflective mood this morning. Still got a long way to go but I think it’s important to look back and see how far we’ve come. While I’m in a different place to you both @knackredd and @SaddlebagSal (my BMI’s still well above 30 and I’m not quite half way to goal) I understand what you’re saying about the frustrations of not being where you want to be yet and not feeling like you’re getting there either. But I’m trying to think about where I started and how different things are now.

My initial thought six months ago was that I might get to 11st if I did well - overweight instead of obese and 2.5st down. That was the best I could visualise ever being possible for me. But I’m not far off that weight now and it seems mad that I thought this amount of loss was as far as I’d get before I’d had enough and would need to pack it in!

And I need to develop an exercise habit as well. I’m putting it off currently as this is always a stressy and tiring time at work, so just resisting a vanilla latte and a Kit Kat to get me through the afternoon slump is my daily win at the moment!

Pepperwaggytail · 12/10/2025 10:07

I’m also in a plateau - I’m lucky in that my BMI is 24.4 and I’m pretty much at goal weight, though “goal weight” is just a number in my head, so that really doesn’t count for much does it?

For those of you that are struggling to motivate yourself to exercise, please please do try it - it will help you to strengthen those muscles, and you may well start losing inches and dropping dress sizes. I do actually enjoy exercise now (didn’t always!) and I’ve tried to list the tips and tricks that have gotten me to a good place with it.

Just walk! If you hate getting hot and sweaty or feel self conscious, wrap up, go out and get some fresh air. Walking is a brilliant form of exercise in itself.

Create a streak, if data motivates you (it doesn’t me) use your smart watch/ phone to log and analyse your exercise or calories burned/ intensity etc. This works brilliantly for my husband. I bought a park run wrist band and log my very slow runs on strava. I’m working towards the 50 runs park run T shirt.

I always remind myself that I never regret an exercise session, I often regret missing one, but never actually completing something.

Work out what time of day suits you best to exercise. I do loads better getting up and out in the morning. By 7pm I’m in a slump and can’t be bothered.

Buy some nice new exercise clothes and trainers. This works really well for me! I get a lot from Vinted or sainsbury’s or Matalan.

Exercise with a friend. I find I don’t want to let friends down whereas I can quite easily let myself down and not go. Rope in anyone who is positive, not a moaner! And create a routine you can both commit to.

Notice that your mental health will improve after exercise. You will get those endorphins boosted.

Enjoy a really nice hot soak in the bath after exercise 😊 feel virtuous, tell everyone! Post on social media.

Join a gym, I love the classes (I don’t have to think about what I’m doing, just follow the instructions) and the community. Nothing like killing yourself off with a lot of other post menopausal ladies! Or exercise alone, in secret if that’s more your thing.

Blame your amazing weight loss on your new exercise routine! 😜 “Oh I’ve started running again” is my new go to reason!

If you work with what motivates you it really helps. Start small. I have found as I’ve lost the weight it really is SOOOOO much easier to exercise and it’s a great motivator to keep the weight off.

Hope this helps 😊

Morning everyone. Thanks so much for all the bra advice.. @Lundier I think it was you who posted the boob or bust link - I am going to do it… hampered by the fact that I can’t currently find the tape measure but will report back when I do.

I’m still at goal. I’ve decided I do want to drop down to 10st 4 to give me a 3lb buffer. I’d love to achieve this by the end of October but got half term to navigate so we’ll see. I jabbed 5mg last night and I’m going to stay on 5mg until I hit my new target then go down to 3.75mg.

Big hugs to everyone experiencing plateaus. I am feeling a bit of diet fatigue at this point so I can imagine it must be really hard to stay consistent. The mounjaro does a lot of the heavy lifting but I was reflecting the other day that I’ve now taken a packed lunch and breakfast to work every day for six months. I’ve meal planned and cooked healthy stuff and never left my food choices to chance - we should all be so proud of how far we’ve come.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 12/10/2025 17:30

I’m at goal too and although feel good to have plateaud here I am also at 24.4 BMI and wanted a little breathing space on this.

I really don’t feel like I’m eating much or badly so I’m not sure how it’s going to work maintaining at this once I come off MJ 😖.

I have been on 2.5 throughout so don’t have the issue of titrating other than spreading out doses more. I’ve decided to continue to Xmas and hit the new year cold turkey which will have been 9 months on it.

I’m at target. Hair has been shedding a bit so should up calories but can’t face lots of food. Have ordered some vitamins. Old clothes are all massive so I’ve had a clear out to charity shop. Some still had tags on. My wardrobe is now very limited.

It’s weird. Objectively I’m slim but feel like I could lose more. Am worried about regaining so keep thinking maybe I should get to 65, albeit this is 5kg below my original target. The drug is now becoming a crutch, I’d like to come off but don’t know when to take that step. It’s very easy to slip into being eating disordered.

Are you ok @Icebreakhell - you have been really honest in your post. I think it’s about learning new habits, eating more but not as before so you put it all on again.

it might be worth reaching out for help if you find yourself going down some very disordered thinking.

I’m stuck at the same weight again this week, trying to trust the process etc but feeling fed up.

Also have a cold & some bleeding (MJ messing with Mirena - great fun) - urgh!

@Icebreakhell completely understand where you are at. The thought of coming off or even moving down the doses scares the hell out of me. It’s definitely a crutch for me now.

I never set myself a goal weight so still not ‘there’ even though I don’t know where there is. But think I definitely need to lose a few more.

Maybe "reverse diet" before you come off, if you are worried. It involves slowly increasing your calories, whilst maintaining weight, to get your metabolism back to normal. I plan on doing this before considering tapering @Squiffy01

SausageRoll90 · 13/10/2025 15:32

Hi guys - it's been a while since I've been here but wanted to check in and get some support.

I can see a few people are at target or close to and others are thinking about it actively reducing doses - well done everyone that's amazing!

Heaviest weight - 17st 2lb / 108.9kg
BMI - 38.7kg/m²
Start Weight in MJ - 16st 9lb / 105.7kg
Currently weight - 14st 1.5lb / 89.6kg
Total loss - 3st 0.5lb / 19.3kg
BMI - 31.7kg/m²

I'm not at target yet but I've only got 9lb to go... However I am planning on doing the last bit without MJ. I always planned to just do 6 months/6 pens as we are hoping to start TTC #2 from the new year and you need 2months off the jab before safely doing so. Plus the price hike and some elevated LFTs on a blood test made me sure it was the right time to stop. So I've been using my last 7.5mg pen to titrate down. I have counted the clicks in the 7.5mg to take 2x7.5mg, 2x5mg, and 2x2.5mg. I did 2.5mg Saturday and will take my last 2.5mg dose next weekend.

Anyone else close to stopping jabs/have already stopped? Any tips or advice?

So far for me my experience has been that if I eat the right stuff I'm still pretty full with smaller potions but I'm definitely hungrier before the next meal so I need to be more organised going forward to avoid snackcidents. Also food noise is much louder. Especially for picky / snacky bits.

I've continued to attend Slimming world through out all of this and while I've not followed it to the word, I also calorie count. This last 2 weeks have been more of a challenge and I've definitely got diet fatigue so need to be VERY careful not to regain while I figure out what my new normal is.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 13/10/2025 21:16

@SausageRoll90 I’m just at target but continuing on MJ at 2.5mg until after Xmas. Agree with others that it’s a bit of a crutch right now! After Xmas I’m finishing work through redundancy so will have time to focus on good food and more exercise. With spring in sights I’m hoping that gives me the motivation to stay on track and not put on a load of weight under winter jumpers (my usual pattern… 🤨). Good luck with TTC!

I’ve been for a swim today (plus sauna for self care 😂) and have drunk LOADS of water. Am focusing on no alcohol this week and not allowing carb creep. Will see if that helps shove me off my plateau…. 🤞
