Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Hit 3 stone loss 🥳
I was supposed to weigh and jab yesterday but I do mine in the morning and I had a really early hospital appointment with threw my normal routine so decided to do it today. Bonus dose from my 10 pen and then will be moving up to 12.5mg.

Annoyingly I’m now trying to race to the finish line a bit as I need surgery in the near future and will have to stop mounjaro a few weeks before. My understanding is that if you’ve stopped for a while then you need to start from the beginning again. So I want to get as close to goal as possible before having to do that! Really hoping I’ll at least have time to finish the 12.5 pen before having to stop..

Hope everyone’s good, but sorry to hear your news @Doidontimmm❤️

SunnySpellsAhead · 02/10/2025 10:22

Really sorry@Doidontimmm, it's such a horrible time. Try and look after yourself xx

Musermum · 02/10/2025 13:49

Thanks for the replies @Mumof2studentnurse and @saxonyv Will up the water, although harder now school is back. I jabbed 20 clicks this morning (so 2.5) and I'll see how it goes and order a 10 if it's helping.

Workgetsintheway · 02/10/2025 16:53

Hi all …just wanted to ask if anyone else on MJ has suffered nose bleeds? Ive had 2 quite bad ones out of the blue this week ( not picking or sneezing or anything) & just wondering if theres any connection? It could be dehydration as I don’t drink a lot when out & about for fear of not finding a loo in time 🫣x

I’m a teacher too, I down a litre within half hour of waking up and then just sip throughout the day and have a litre when I get home. This way I find I need to go to toilet a few times in the morning but usually always before the children come in

Solidarity, it’s a really horrible virus that’s knocked me for 6!

well done on healthy BMI! 👏 How much lower do you want to go now?

Hope you feel better soon!

Im on ‘maintenance’ of 2.5mg, have enough doses to last until Mid November so will carry on til then and whatever weight I am then is where I hope I’ll stay! I would ideally like to lose 7lbs or so by then so even if I do put on a few lbs I’m still in the healthy range but we’ll see.
Im in the habit of tracking all my food now so I think I’ll be more mindful once I do stop the doses.

Incognitoburrito88 · 02/10/2025 19:20

Hi friends. I’m feeling a bit down. Went away a week ago 1 lb below goal.. came back 4 lbs over!! I’m not massively upset about that. I don’t think I gained 5lb of fat in 5 days. I feel more disheartened about how hard it’s been to get back into my healthy eating routine since returning from our trip. It’s been 2 wks since my last 5mg dose and I’ve definitely been getting food noise today. My husband and older kids are out and I’ve been thinking ‘oh I could just eat a massive bowl of granola and nobody would know…’ I’m not going to but I hate that the thoughts are back. I was planning to jab tomorrow but I’ve just done it now.

Ive got the bonus dose in this 5mg pen still to go. My plan had been to use that and then titrate back down to 3.75mg provided I was back at goal in 2 wks time but I’m feeling even more apprehensive now. I’ve been listening to my slim pod every night for the last couple of weeks but need to start engaging with the content a bit more I think.

@Doidontimmm sending a big hug. Hope you and your family are doing ok.

@fox919 well done on hitting the 3 stone mark 🎉

Icebreakhell · 03/10/2025 11:49

@Incognitoburrito88 don’t fret, you can turn this around. It’s having a couple of weeks between injections, I was the same after I came back from holiday- took me a few weeks to get adequate suppression. You can always titrate up if needed.

I'm pretty much where I want to be. Would like to come off but worried it’s too soon and I should get a year under my belt.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 03/10/2025 12:13

@Incognitoburrito88 I was up 2lb last week after a few days in London. This has come back off this week. As you know, you can’t have put on 5lb so hopefully it will come off pretty rapidly.

Ive now got a final pen which hopefully will see me through Xmas and then all bets are off!

well done @Icebreakhellfor getting to where you want to be 👏 . I am too but am continuing to 9 months under my belt (excuse the pun!)

@Workgetsintheway no nose bleeds but did have a 19 day period early on 😖

@Doidontimmm sorry for your loss and I hope it hasn’t derailed you too much although understandable it’s a sideswipe - food is such a crutch for us all to help us feel better

Squiffy01 · 03/10/2025 13:56

Weighed in yesterday and lost 3.3lbs which I was very surprised about. I haven’t lost that much in one week in about 4 months so was a nice surprise.

I have felt so tired this week with absolutely zero motivation.

hope everyone is having a good week and enjoy your weekend.

vl888 · 03/10/2025 14:21

So after 6 months on the jag without many side effects, and hitting target, I have now all of a sudden started suffering with the dreaded hair loss!!!

Any tips / products anyone can recommend?

I've started taking collagen powder every morning, and vitamin tablets. Also Hair Gain Scalp Foam which apparently helps reduce hair shedding.

Luckily I have quite thick hair, so don't think it's overly noticeable for now, but might be soon if it carries on at current rate....

Pepperwaggytail · 04/10/2025 08:10

Sorry folks, had a busy couple of weeks and not had chance to jump on… my scales are “Insmart” they were just from Amazon, nothing very expensive, the app that comes with it is called Fitdays, I’ll try and add a screen shot of my results.
You can definitely add muscle and maintain it. You can see mine has fluctuated a bit and I have lost some muscle since starting M. But im two stones lighter so there’s less of me to heave around every day 😂. For exercise I do two classes that include cardio and weights every week, and I’ve tried to increase the weights over the months. I also run (park run) and sometimes another short one as well. I try to lift as heavy as I can (only 6-8kg) in an hour long class and do HIIT style (Insanity) exercises. As I’ve lost weight I’ve found I’m smashing the classes! 😎 Bear in mind that I’m 56 years old, so definitely not a spring chicken! 😂

@Doidontimmm
Im so sorry about your dog, 😥 take some time and look after yourself. Any weight gain will drop off again. Lots of hugs 🤗

@vl888
I’ve been using rosemary oil - in fact this has just reminded me I need to do this now! I usually massage it into my scalp and leave on for an hour before washing off. It smells amazing! I just bought it on Amazon.

@Incognitoburrito88
Try not to panic, it’s probably water weight and will drop off! I gained three pounds being constipated last week (bloody awful!) and it dropped right off with the 💩

Pepperwaggytail · 04/10/2025 08:50

Also… for those worrying about your BMI increasing with muscle - yes your weight and BMI will increase if you build up your muscle. So will your BMR (basal metabolic rate) meaning you can eat more calories, and you will actually get smaller because muscle is heavier than fat. This is why the BMI tool is pretty much useless! It’s no indication of fitness or body fat. 🤷‍♀️

blanketsnuggler · 04/10/2025 21:11

Today I saw my collar bone.

Not seen that for many many years. 😊

Uninvitedleaf · 05/10/2025 07:21

Hi everyone it’s great to see your news and congrats to those at or near goal!

Just over 1lb off for me again this week so still plodding along with a long way to go. However I am enjoying the fact this slow rate means people can’t work out if I’m losing the weight with the jabs or “properly” (by their definition). Went out for lunch this week with a couple of friends who I love dearly but one is definitely the type to watch every mouthful (never finishes a plate of food, couldn’t possibly eat dessert as she’s far too full etc etc). There was a bit of sneaky hinting but I’m afraid I took great pleasure in just leaving them wondering as some of it came in the form of judgy comments about “people who use those injections” 😂. If they’d asked directly I’d have told them!

I need a whole new wardrobe - starting to wear things like my winter coat that I haven’t had on for a good few months and it’s enormous. It would go round me twice. But can’t buy new as I’m only about halfway there.

Halfway through might be a good point to get a few new bits @Uninvitedleaf ? Otherwise imagine how big your clothes will be on you, when you're 80% there! Just a few basics from Vinted maybe?

QS90 · 05/10/2025 09:36

I know losing weight is good for energy levels longterm (obviously) @Squiffy01 but I too always find weeks where I lose, I'm tired! Think it's inevitable tbh, annoying when it happens though x

QS90 · 05/10/2025 09:40

How are you getting on @Mumof2studentnurse ?

SunnySpellsAhead · 05/10/2025 09:43

SW 16st 8.2lb BMI 42.7
CW 13st 5.4lb BMI 34.5
TW ?? 10st 7lb

Well, it's coming off slowwwwly now. Did wonder if the pen was less effective as I'd stretched it to 8 jabs but I'll be having 6 max now (from 5mg pen) as increased to 3.75mg. No low mood symptoms yet so fingers crossed. Getting a bit more suppression now I've increased too, which is great 'cos was having doubts I'd be able to get through winter without the usual comfort food. Hope it lasts.

Hair loss has seemed to slow a bit of it's own accord, although I do use a bit of rosemary oil/caffeine shampoo now and then. I'm struggling with joint pain and envious of those of you who now feel the fittest you've been, it must be fantastic. Weight loss has disappointingly had no effect on my mobility so it's currently being investigated.

Have a good week everyone.

Yes I am picking up the odd thing - problem is that even stuff I bought 2/3 months ago is already a bit big now. I currently need a 12-14 but because I’m so short I think I’m going to end up around 8-10 in six months or so. I’m disappearing 😂. January sales might be fun this year.

I tend to spend quite a lot on a small amount of clothes and keep them for ages so I’m loath to go down the cheap and cheerful route and then have to get rid quite soon. I did get a MaxMara dress from Vinted this week, the first time I’ve ever bought on there. I like it but despite being “new with tags” it was missing a belt (not mentioned in listing, photos didn’t show that it had belt loops but no belt) and it smelled really musty, had obviously been hanging somewhere damp. It was dry clean only but I’ve rescued it by hand washing really carefully with some white vinegar added. So overall I’d have to say I’m not a convert as it was a lot of faff - if I’d seen it in a charity shop I’d probably have left it. I think I’ll just need to persevere with an increasingly small collection of existing stuff that I think still looks OK for now. Not a bad problem to have though, considerably better than nothing fitting me properly which is where I was six months ago 😊.

I'm going to have to stop weighing myself every day @QS90 Its frustrating for me when i'm heavier the day after, usually just by 1/2 a pound or so, and i know it can be to do with fluids, but it genuinely impacts the way I feel for the rest of the day. So, i think i'm going to try my best to only weigh once a week and get out of my habit of weighing every day.

I'm wearing the size 16 (stretchy) jeans though, and i have bought the same pair in size 14 for when I can get into those. My lower abdomen is an issue for me though, and my thighs too. Maybe I will feel a bit better about those areas in a stone or two.

Really hope you are doing well :)

PhantomErik · 05/10/2025 16:51

Stayed the same this week. I know I'm not drinking enough & I know for a few days every week I'm not eating enough, probably around 700 - 800 calories. The rest of the week more like 1500 calories.

SW 16.6
CW 13.11

Very slow progress for me.

QS90 · 05/10/2025 20:08

If you do venture to buy anything else @Uninvitedleaf can I recommend Halo detergent to you? It's expensive but very good imo - the only one I've found which is both antibacterial AND antifungal, so gets rid of musty smells a bit better (also thrushor athletes foot, in case you ever need to know). I do get what you mean about Vinted - overall I've found it good and have had some real bargains. However, there have definitely been the odd duff item too!! Sorry your first go was overwhelming.

I've acquired such a lot of rubbish clothes over the years, most of which don't "go" together well. This time I'm just getting a few, good pieces as you've said. Trying to create a "capsule" wardrobe. Roll on the sales!

QS90 · 05/10/2025 20:14

All good here thanks @Mumof2studentnurse Slow progress though. I get what you mean about it being disheartening to weigh and have gained. I weigh most days, but if I think it'll be a number I don't like, I avoid for a few days! Then weigh again after I feel any water weight has gone.
