Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Possibly quite a random question but has anyone had jaw pain and clenching as a side effect?

Wow, Well done to you all hitting 'Healthy' BMI - great achievement 👏😀

Thanks @vl888😊

No, sorry! Sounds nasty though 😖

Hello! Been awhile since I’ve checked in, life has been very busy with a court case against my builder (we won!) and I’ve got my hysterectomy on Friday. I went for my pre op appointment a couple weeks ago and they said I don’t have to stop Mounjaro at all before surgery so that was a relief. I was very surprised as I’d heard of people being advised to stop two weeks before.

As of this week I have lost 16.5kg / 2st 8lbs. Very pleased with that. Another 13kg to go so a little over halfway.

I’m wanting to switch suppliers now to one that does maintenance (I’m currently with Med Express) and was thinking of Oushk. Are they still good for maintenance plans and what is the process of switching when your BMI is below 30? I think mine is about 27 right now but I have photos of all my old boxes / prescriptions.

Welcome back! Sounds like you’ve had a rough old time of it. Glad you’re doing well with the weight loss 😊

Thanks! Hope it’s going well for you too. What dose are you on now?

fox919 · 21/07/2025 20:48

Hi all, thanks for the new thread @Uninvitedleaf

Jab day tomorrow, but I dawdled with ordering my next pen (after the faff with pharmacy2u) and had to submit extra photos to Numan to confirm weight and height so still haven’t been fully approved and no new pen on its way yet. I’ve got less than a full dose left for tomorrow, so I’m considering taking that this evening and then having my next dose a bit earlier than a full week if the effects are noticeably less. Hope everyone is doing well and feeling good 👍

Caught up with you all at last, so many hitting targets already, well done all. Will be me in 6 months time maybe 😁

I had a 3lb loss this week without really trying too hard. Think the holiday/higher calories may have helped reset my usually slow metabolism a bit. Decided to weigh again today as I was convinced it was an anomaly and another pound off! I know it'll be bouncing about a bit but that one pound off means I have now hit the fabled (for me) One-derland - only just, but under 200lbs!

I'm saving money on food bills but it's all going to have go on new clothes. Can't wait to turf the whole lot out one day and start again. In the meantime, I'm joining a lot of you in the 2nd hand hunting games.

Sorry no I haven't had it personally. Sounds almost like an amphetamine response? Although not to say it can't be MJ too.

Sounds great!

I hate having loads of scraps of clothes which are slightly the wrong size, and not quite current. Can't wait to start again, with things that actually fit and look good, rather than things I can't quite justify chucking...

SunnySpellsAhead · 21/07/2025 22:46

Yep, same here. Plus it's all stuff that made me look reasonably ok rather than stuff I actually loved. Figuring out what my style truly is will be fun. Hopefully!

Thanks! Hope it’s going well for you too. What dose are you on now?

I’m now taking 25 clicks of the 7.5 mg pen every 5 days, so I’m getting a 3.13mg dose each time. This is great, I’m losing weight with good suppression and no side effects. I’ve got a couple of pounds to get to bmi 25, then I’ll taper down with a bit of wiggle room. I could lose another 7lb without looking scrawny. 😊

Had 0.25ml left in my pen so calculating that as 3.125mg (7.5mg pen), is that correct?

I’ve ordered a 10mg pen, so thinking of taking 7.5mg on Sunday if I’m struggling to get through the week on less than half my current dose 😬 (I’m not sure I’d want to take a full 10mg when the previous dose hasn’t been 7.5..) I’ve been approved by Numan now, so my new pen should be here by then.

Amazing for all of you who are at goal/close to goal! Congratulations 😊

Is anyone finding it not as effective as when first starting out? The last couple of weeks I’ve been craving sweet stuff in the evening again which had totally gone before. Most of the time I can resist but there have been a few times when I’ve had some ice cream.

if we eat out I can definitely fit a lot more in than I was up until this point so will have to be careful there.

Yes. I had a binge yesterday....2 kitskats and a bag of crisps.....but the last time I did that was DAILY before I started 4 months ago.

More importantly I didnt feel any guilt and I didnt feel I that I had fallen off the wagon and this was the the end and I was in free-fall .... I felt I had scratched an itch, my curiosity had been satisfied and didnt even have to try to 'get back on track'.

I watched an interesting post yesterday about the 9pm cravings and its often because we have left too long between lunch and dinner - and suggested this issue starts and should be addressed at 3pm with a healthy snack.

Evenings were always my danger zone - glass of wine and the floodgates opened for crisps & choc as I was tired etc. Now I have a skin care routine that distracts me at the 9pm munches (that I do on my sofa) ... and if that doesnt work I get up and wash my teeth early.

MJafterWLS · 22/07/2025 10:30

Hey all - found the new thread!

Haven't checked in for a couple of weeks, still plodding on, been a bit up and down with the weight loss each week, but still losing around a pound per week on average. Still on 5mg but thinking of moving to 7.5mg on my next pen as the losses are slowing down now.

SW: 15st 8.6lbs
CW: 12st 6lbs
GW: 11st 7lbs

Total loss: 3st 2.6lbs

13lbs to go! my BMI is now 25.7 so that 'healthy weight' is in sight!

Yes, the other night I had a Galaxy Ripple - up until this point, I have had no chocolate cravings. (I had a few drinks the night before, so maybe that was the reason). Anyway, I ate it, and felt sooooo sick afterwards. Lesson learned 😂

vl888 · 22/07/2025 10:41

Those using MedExpress - I assumed by previous comments, they don't support maintenance when you hit healthy BMI, however, I just read this on their website:

If your treatment is still working well for you and you’re not experiencing serious side effects, our prescribers can continue your treatment for as long as you need to support weight loss maintenance.

Some people stay on treatment long-term, while others may decide to taper off gradually. We’ll help you find the approach that works best for you.

Whether you choose to stay on treatment or taper off gradually, we will continue to provide ongoing support as you navigate the next phase of your weight loss journey.

So does that mean they would keep prescribing for maintenance purposes? Or has anyone else been told otherwise?

I’ve got this too, to the extent I’ve been wondering if I should up my dose for my next pen - I’ve got one more to take from a 5mg and then was planning to stay on 5 after that as I’ve still got good suppression overall. But I seem to have plenty of room and the desire for crisps and sweet stuff despite that and I gave in a couple of times last week. Penance was that I had a week with no loss so that’s my motivation to do better this week!

in some ways I’m finding it helpful as I’m having to think about why I still want the junk when I know I’m not hungry. I think it’s boredom and/or a dopamine reward thing which is something I need to learn to deal with if I’m going to keep the weight off long term, so maybe better to stay on the 5mg and try to develop ways of managing it.

Thats just reminded me that I had a few drinks over the weekend - so maybe that kicked off the cravings.

Well I just had a big portion of tiramisu so yes. Still much better than before MJ. But when I first started, I had no interest in unhealthy foods at all. Just no physical or emotional response to them at all, any more than I'd get looking at a pencil. So it's a shame not to have that any more.

TC4 · 22/07/2025 20:49

So I think I might be late to the game of supplements but I think I might like to add something in for myself. I know people say about taking collagen powder but I absolutely wouldn’t be able to take that for some reason as soon as I know anything has been added to a drink that I have to drink I just can’t get it down without nearly being sick so that’s a no go.

I’ve seen collagen gummy’s are these any good in anyone’s experience?

What else is anyone taking that I should consider?

saxonyv · 23/07/2025 08:24

well done on the losses and NSVs to all,
im on 5 and feel like the last week or so im fancying sweet stuff but instead of diving fave first into a share bag of chocolate im having a small bar and feeling satisfied, this must be how normal people feel 😆
