Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

I've been meandering between 12.12 and 12.9 for three weeks but I really can't eat any less than I am now without risking low blood pressure, dizziness and low energy so I'm not going up a dose. I'll get slightly more regular 12.9 then it will meander to 12.8 then 12.10 then another week or so it will be 12.7 (I weigh daily). I've spent twenty five years NOT going down the scales apart from short, temporary bursts so if this is what the long haul but permanent looks like that's ok. I do need to drink more water and start doing a few kettle bell exercises I think but I'm not going to panic. Not least because the high dose is more ££!

Thanks, this is useful. I do have shotsy, but haven't paid for the full version. I see what you mean, that you have lost consistently. Buy does seem too, that an upped dose, has lead to more rapid weight loss. The end of June when you went from 2mg to 4mg, for example. So I think I will up mine a bit, and then taper back for maintenance (in not too long!!). Thanks for the insight :)

Yes, a slightly higher dose increased the weight loss. Also dosing every 5 days instead of 7 days speeded things up. So lower dose each jab (3.13) which gave a 6.26 dose every 10 days. That’s worked really well for me, with no side effects.
I can also enjoy alcohol again, which I’m not thrilled about as we toasted the new house yesterday 🥂 and I’ve a slight headache this morning! 🤕

Thank-you :) I've been thinking about this, the last few days. I actually still feel big, but I think it must be in my mind, because I'm visiting family atm, and am now the same weight as my mum, who I don't think looks big at all (I am taller than my mum too). So perhaps it will take a bit of a mental adjustment too. I have noticed that some people at work have started talking to me, who never bothered to before, which is hilarious. I didn't get it at first, I was thinking "This is really strange, why are Tina and Cliff suddenly so chatty?!" The only thing I can think of, is that it must be the weight, unless I've suddenly also become more funny and interesting over night.

The clothing thing is interesting too. I'm back in limbo re clothes sizes, which actually I hadn't missed. My SIL bought me a size 12(!) dress, which fits perfectly. But my size 18 jeans, are only slightly loose. Tried on a size 16 skirt in Tesco, which was too small. So the size roulette is back, which wasn't relevant when I was wearing tents with leggings. I don't feel I'll go back to my pre-children style again, as don't think I would be comfortable, plus that "look" is a bit dated now. But have found some good outfit ideas on Pinterest. Not ready yet to make the leap and buy them though 😅 Feel weird about coming out of my cocoon.

Are you buying things in a new style? Or sticking with the same sort of things you wore previously?

I’m definitely wearing closer fitting tops now. Everything used to hang off my boobs like a tent and make me look even bigger than I was! 🤷‍♀️ Now I’m doing that thing where you twist a baggy top at the back and put a hair tie on it to make a knot, then tuck it in. This makes it smaller and tighter, or knotting shirts at the front.

Also I’m loving tighter gym wear instead of huge baggy T shirts, and really loving that working out and running is SOOOO much easier now. This is what’s motivating me to lose another 7lb. Also if I can keep running that’s going to help keep the weight off long term.

I put my favourite pair of jeans on last week which are size 12 and had to hold them up with a belt - they were hanging off me! Mind you they are from Tu (Sainsbury’s) so probably generous sizing. Im going to have a look on Vinted and in Charity shops for a smaller pair.

I also found my sandals are looser! 🤪

Uninvitedleaf · 27/07/2025 09:19

@RhaenysRocks love that you’re also comfortable with slow but steady, I also keep telling myself I need to up my exercise as that will help but I haven't quite got to that yet!

I’d also agree with @Pepperwaggytail about enjoying wearing more fitted clothes (although not quite gym gear - related to previous point). A lot of the weight I’ve lost has come off from my spare tyre/middle which I’ve always been really self conscious about. Apart from the fact we know this has health benefits (visceral fat around organs being the really dangerous stuff) I’m shallow enough to be pleased that I now want to wear fitted tops. All the fitted t-shirts I used to put on and think “oh dear, look at the rolls of fat - let me find something baggy” suddenly look great and the baggy stuff is awful and shapeless 😊.

I went for a two hour solo walk yesterday exploring a new bit of my local river and did my first sea swim with a bunch of ladies with dry robes and floating key safes this morning. North sea so chilly but totally loved it. Plus I did a load of hardcore gardening yesterday pulling up acres of bindweed so feeling quite 💪💪

PhantomErik · 27/07/2025 17:47

Wk19 & another pound down. I'm now officially 2 stone down so that's a nice little milestone.

SW 16.6
CW 14.6

I tried on a load of holiday/summer clothes & a lot was too big so that was nice! I'm holding off shopping until closer to our October holiday & aiming for another stone, don't know if that will be another dress size but hope so. Would love to get into a 16 by then.

That sounds idyllic. What a way to get fit!

QS90 · 27/07/2025 21:48

That's interesting about the shoe size @Pepperwaggytail I'm a 5.5 wide, it's almost impossible to get shoes 🙄I thought it was since pregnancy (used to be a standard size 5), but maybe it was partly being overweight? Will hold off buying shoes too!

saxonyv · 28/07/2025 07:59

My feet have definitely gotten bigger or wider over the last few years so hoping they’ll shrink back a bit.

I have today officially lost 3 stone! I lose half a stone just before starting WLi so actually only 2.5stone on Mounjaro
but 3 stone over 5 months is blowing my mind!

This is pretty much what’s happening with me I weigh daily but in kg and it goes up and down over the kg for a while then has a drop so I’m consistently going down to numbers I’ve not seen on the scales for a long long time so that’s the main thing but it definitely hovers around over the week first

Could anyone tell me what Ml I need for 3.75mg on a 5mg pen please
I need to go down a dose because the nausea is too much but im on the golden dose!

RhaenysRocks · 29/07/2025 07:49

It's halfway between a 2.5mg and 5mg so if my maths is right that would be 04.5ml dose from a 5mg pen. A full dose would be 0.6ml but very happy to be corrected.

Not sure of the ML but 3.75 is 45 clicks of the pen.

SquishyGloopyBum · 29/07/2025 08:53

Not sure of the ML but 3.75 is 45 clicks of the pen.

If you know the clicks ratio you also know the ml.

60 clicks = 0.6ml
30 clicks = 0.3ml

so @saxonyv45 clicks = 0.45ml

0.45/0.6ml x 5mg =3.75 mg

it’s all just ratios of the pen dose with 0.6ml/60 always being one full stated dose of any pen strength.

saxonyv · 29/07/2025 16:42

Thanks both!
nice to know the maths behind the clicks too!

@fox919 2 stone - well done!

I started at almost the same weight as you but haven't seen 11st on the scales yet. Seem to have really stalled/slowed down over the last couple of weeks so might need to up my dose.

What are you on currently?

Finally in the 10s!!!! Never thought I would see the day 🤯🤯 Down from 14st1 to 10st13. Started my next pen this morning - had already ordered and moved from 7.5mg to 10mg - I feel like I maybe should have just stayed at 7.5mg but hey ho....still feeling nervous the closer I get to 'Maintenance' stage - hopefully will be ok.....

Still have a lot of soft squishy loose skin on my tummy, not sure if it's 'fixable' or whether I'll just have to live with it. But I'll take it 😂

Squiffy01 · 30/07/2025 09:59

@Uninvitedleaf mine has also slowed down a lot over the last few weeks very frustrating.

ive had a lot of thoughts recently of why am I bothering when it’s so expensive and now really slow but have to keep reminding myself I wouldn’t have lost this amount in total without it. I would probably not even be on the wagon currently.
manda I guess even if moving up the doses it can’t continue at the same fast rate forever.

Uninvitedleaf · 30/07/2025 10:21

@Squiffy01 I’ll be starting a new pen on Sunday and can’t decide whether to stick with my current 5mg or go up to 7.5mg. I’ve got one of each as I ordered the 5 a few weeks ago thinking I’d stick with that because it was working (still have good suppression) but I’ve got doubts about whether I want to do another 5 weeks on that dose as I’ve not really lost anything for two weeks now. So I ordered a 7.5 to have in as well to give options. I don’t think I’ll finally decide until it’s time to jab and I can see what this week’s loss is - so far it’s looking like some has come off (I weigh daily) but it’s usually up again by the weekend.

You’re right about falling off the wagon before now though. This is definitely a point where I’d have just given up previously, in fact I wonder if that’s one of the issues. I’ve “stuck” at around 12st 3lb which is the weight I got down to about 6 years ago. This is maybe just a point where my body wants to be and I need to have a bit of patience until it adjusts and starts coming off again?

ClimbingKilimounjaro · 30/07/2025 11:29

Stuck at 82kg for week three now but I am 17.2kg down in 15 weeks and we have had so many social events this summer already and I’ve not been shy of having a few drinks and indulging in richer foods so to have stayed the same feels like a real positive.

My next dose this week will be my first 7.5mg so I imagine (hope?!) I will feel greater suppression. We have guests this weekend so I think realistically I need to dose earlier so might think about doing that this evening.

Hmm, I am so pleased that I am where I am and I am finding the journey fascinating. Not sure I’d have believed my progress today when I started so got to ride these patches of weeks without loss. Just know that I am only around half way through and it is getting a bit pricy as I go up the doses!

Newmum110 · 31/07/2025 07:26

Happy Thursday fellow loosers.
16 weeks in & today have hit my 3 stone weight loss exactly. It's amazing, I'm constantly admiring my new shape. Was another stone lighter many years ago & that was the lowest weight all my adult life & I felt & looked great. So while my ultimate goal weight is another stone a half I would be over the moon to even get another stone.
My belly & the tops of my legs are like jelly & absolutely disgusting but I don't think it's from the weight loss I think they were always like that & just more noticeable now because the rest of me looks better. Wish I could have told my younger self to look after my body better but better late than never I guess.......

RhaenysRocks · 31/07/2025 07:37

I feel similar to some here about losses having stalled but I'm not actually eating any more or differently than I was a month ago. My suppression on 5mg hasn't lessened so I'm not sure if going up a dose would change anything. Definitely need to do the water thing. Determined effort today!! Well done on your 3 stone @Newmum110 .

fox919 · 31/07/2025 08:43

Thanks @UninvitedleafI’ve stayed the same basically for the last couple of weeks so I’m not feeling super positive atm. I’ve been on 7.5, but had a weird week because I only had 0.25ml left in my last pen so I took that, then a top up dose 4 days later when new pen had arrived. I jabbed 7.5mg yesterday which was what I’ve been on recently (minus the blip with waiting for new pen). My new pen is 10mg, but because of the split dose I didn’t want to follow that with a full 10mg so did 7.5. I’m also going to do 7.5 next week as we’re going away and I don’t want to have to worry about any possible side effects from upping dose!

When we get back from holiday I’ll be going up to 10mg. Hopefully things will get moving again, I’ve still got 1st11lbs to get to goal and I’m a relatively slow loser.. but like others have said, pre mounjaro I would’ve fallen off the wagon long before now, especially with weeks of not losing. It’s a real relief and comfort to know that that’s not happening on this journey. Honestly I think that the effect on my thought processes is the biggest thing mounjaro has brought to my life. The lack of guilt when indulging a little, not beating myself up and giving up, and of course the lack of food noise 🙌

congratulations to all on your losses 😊

SeaDippingandLattes · 31/07/2025 16:29

Hi all

I've stayed same for last fortnight and not pigging out and mostly feel full all the time anyway still but I wonder if because I lost a big amount (for me) over the previous fortnight due to stress (about 7/8 pounds) whether I will be balancing out again (in whatever scientific form that takes) so hoping I might start to lose a little bit again each week from next week . On 5mg and am largely very full each day until Saturday evening and to be honest it’s nice to have a bit more room for food over the weekend as I still don’t think I’m near my calories for the day and am just eating a bit more variety etc. however I do need to order the next pen soon so I’m wondering if I should stay at 5 or whether 7.5 will have more of an effect on the hormones that will help the weight loss as opposed to just suppression? Which I don’t need. Anyone understand that science bit?

People are noticing now and are asking how I’ve lost weight so I’m just being honest and saying. If anyone doesn’t like it they can just ‘fuck off’ as it’s my choice, I’m not embarrassed and if it is someone that wants to openly judge me then I welcome knowing that about them as I don’t have time for people like that. So far I’ve only had positive responses however so I may change my thoughts on this when I encounter dickheadish responses 😂
