Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Weigh day for me - Week 24. I started on April 9th.

Start Weight - 21st 9lbs (303lbs)
Current Weight - 14st 2lbs (198lbs)
Weight lost this week - 2lb
Total weight lost - 7st 7lbs (105lbs)

I had a few goals I wanted to achieve this month - I managed to:

1 - Get to 100lbs of weight lost
2 - Get below 200lbs
3 - Get into size 18 clothes (the size 18 jeans are stretchy but I will take it)

The shine from all of this has been taken away by my kids telling me that they saw pictures of their dad (my husband) with his girlfriend in the house - the house we shared together until he cheated on me and left me for her.
I don't know why im adding this to a post about mounjaro, but lets just say, its been a pretty rough day!

Wishing you all well and im sorry for my irrelevant update x

Has anyone else almost come to a standstill? I’m week 23 with a 2st loss and a stone left to go.
I’ve been on 3.75 for all but about 4 weeks of my journey, still with fairly decent suppression which is why I’ve not moved up to 5, however I just don’t seem to be losing any more, any tips or wise words from any in a similar position would be gratefully received, thanks

@MiamiMimi yes that was me. I realised I had not reduced my calories in line with my 2 stone loss weight. I also moved up to 5mg. I never wanted to move up doses but now on 7.5mg as 5mg wasn’t cutting it either. Now just 10lbs to go to my 3 stone loss goal.

Oh bless you… rant away at us, just don’t let it derail your amazing weight loss. He’s a prick, but you are amazing! Getting control of your life, new career and I’m sure you are a great mum! Be strong and it will all work out in the end. Lots of hugs from me xx

Thank you! That’s really useful, I’ll try 5 for my next jab and see how I get on.

@Mumof2studentnurse sending a big hug and a massive high five because you are doing incredibly well. xx

Squiffy01 · 25/09/2025 07:32

Haven’t read for awhile so will have to go back and catch up but weigh day for me this morning.

0.4lbs off which I will take since we were away for 5 days in Denmark eating rubbish food.

How slow the weight loss is getting is very very frustrating and trying to tell myself it’s all normal but doesn’t make it any less annoying for me.

QS90 · 25/09/2025 08:37

I know everyone always says it, but it's a trope for a reason @Mumof2studentnurse You can do better than some who a) cheats and b) acts how he has since he left. I mean, moving you out of the family home and his new gf in?! Wtaf. They're both gross, let them get on with it.

Congratulations on your weight loss - you are doing really, really well x

QS90 · 25/09/2025 08:43

Checking in - my weight loss stall seems to have finished for now and am down 2.4lbs this week. Eating plenty of protein every day, and it hasn't hurt that I ran out of money two weeks ago (payday today WHOOP!!) so have mainly been living off apples because there are lots of free ones kicking about atm, protein shakes and tins of beans and protein pasta we had in already.

Only 7lbs from goal now - do you think it's "safe" to start sourcing new clothes? Or will I shrink out of them? I think I'm currently a Size 14 but need to go to a shop to try stuff on and see.

vl888 · 25/09/2025 10:08

Finally hit goal today! Can't quite believe it!

Started 10th April
SW: 14st1
CW 10st
Total Loss: 4st1

Feeling elated, but also a little lost - kind of similar to how I felt when starting Mounjaro - I think its the unknown and not quite sure how I am going to go about the Maintenance stage.

I have a full 10mg pen in the fridge, so I think I'll split that into 8 x 5mg doses and see how things go.....

Yes, I’ve lost two stone and am currently two weeks into a stall.

I’ve not been this weight this century, so I think I’ve got to the layers of fat that are long established and my body is resisting hard losing any more.

I’ve adjusted calories for the weight I am now and looking to up my exercise because I can’t drop my calories much more - I need to keep to 1150 per day to lose 1lb a week.

i think this is an NSV - I don’t appear to have lost any weight from my bust. I need a smaller band size but the measurements around my boobs hasn’t shifted. So instead of a 38E I’m now a 34F or G depending on the style of bra.

QS90 · 25/09/2025 13:04

Interesting (and good) how many of us are finding that we aren't losing boob weight - for me that's usually the first place I lose it from.

I must admit they aren’t as firm as they were before I started jabbing, and they seem a bit more susceptible to gravity iyswim. But then I’m in my mid-50s, so what am I expecting?!

I’ve always been curvy, but dominated by my big bum and thighs. It seems I’m shifting from pear shape towards hourglass. I think I look like I’ve lost more weight than I have because my waist is becoming more pronounced - I’ve had a couple of random compliments from acquaintances in the last couple of weeks which have been very nice.

Still need a size bigger in my trousers than I do tops, but the tops are fitting better where they go over my hips.

I think you will drop your dress size down lower - unless you are very tall perhaps? I would go to a few shops and try on. Remember there is a huge discrepancy between shops and even within the same shop so don’t be disheartened- it’s a flipping nightmare! But enjoy the process! Some clothes like jumpers and boxy T shirts can be worn bigger so it wont be a problem if you shrink a bit more 😁. I’m still buying clothes a size too big because they look tiny! I’m also getting good at the tie at the back technique to make bagger tops smaller! 😂

Pepperwaggytail · 26/09/2025 08:42

So for those of you starting maintenance I’m now six weeks in and managing to stay under 10st - ideally I would like to drop to around 9st 7 to give me some wiggle room. But I’m definitely in a stall at the moment, which is fine - I want to give my body loads of time to adjust and not bounce back up! I’m taking 2.5 Mounjaro every 5 days (just moved this back from every 7days)

Ive been pushing hard with exercise and focussing on running and cardio with weights. I’ve put a couple of pounds on BUT when I weighed myself with my body comp scales I can see I’ve put a bit of muscle on in the last couple of weeks.

Putting weight on always makes my head spin, but seeing it’s muscle is very reassuring and my fat and muscle ratios are all excellent (according to the scales) My body fat is 19.9%. So I’m trying to use other information to assess my health and fitness rather than weight!

Easy to claim, hard to do sometimes!! 😊

saxonyv · 26/09/2025 11:27

Which scales do you use @Pepperwaggytail
id be interested to see my composition.

I started maintenance at the end of August - well it was mostly because the 5 was a bit too much for me so I moved to 3.75 but it coincided with the price increase. I’m now on 2.5 until the end of November.
Im only 3lbs off target for healthy bmi but im still losing .5-1.5lb a week so should be achievable if I am mindful and I would like to lose around 7lbs by end of November so I can have a bit of wriggle room.

Would also love to know what scales you use and how quickly you shifted the muscle mass back in the right direction.

I saw a very depressing clip on insta yesterday from Diary of a CEO where the guest was saying that 40% of weight lost on WLI is muscle and bone which cannot be replaced after 60 and leaves you with v low BMR (due to muscle loss) and osteoporosis due to bone loss.

He didn’t have any alternatives and I am not sure if the weight loss composition is any different from any other diet?

Or should we have been eating loads of protein, doing loads of weight lifting whilst cutting calories on WLI - what would this look like on the scales and what would this mean for BMI?

Uninvitedleaf · 26/09/2025 13:44

I think the 40% figure was reported in some of the original clinical trial data and is the reason we are all advised to watch protein intake and stay active while on WLI. Muscle and bone loss is not inevitable and is also not specifically related to the drugs - any rapid weight loss leads to something similar I believe. So (acknowledging I didn't hear the clip!) to me it sounds like someone else picking and choosing reasons to have a go. Were they saying the same about someone who had lost the weight "properly", because they'd be just as much at risk - probably more so as we've all had conversations about this and are aware of what we need to do.

There's an interesting article here from someone who works in population health at University of Liverpool that sets it out quite well. Yes we need to watch protein intake and stay active in addition to taking the drugs but we know that! I quite like the ideas to stave off muscle loss - walk up the stairs, carry some extra shopping etc.

After starting on the 30th March, I finally hit a 4 stone loss last week and no longer obese as just moved into the overweight category 🙌

3lbs until I enter the 12 stone bracket which will mean I will have left 5 stone brackets behind me! Around 3 stone to go now which doesn't actually feel that daunting. Aim is to get into the 11 stone bracket and maybe hit a healthy weight by the end of the year 🤞

Mumof2studentnurse · 26/09/2025 14:33

Hi everyone, I was wondering if any of you would know this from your experience, but what did you weigh when you were able to wear size 16 clothes? I'm into size 18 clothes just now (14st 2) I'm a little shorter than 5ft 7. My weight is mainly around my tummy/lower abdomen and thighs.

I bought a couple of pairs of size 16 (stretchy jeans the same jeans im wearing now but just a smaller size) and wondered about how much more weight has to go before I can get into them? Any ideas? :) x

saxonyv · 26/09/2025 20:51

Wow this is the first I’ve heard about bone issues, what happens if you do lose muscle mass or bone density, is there a way to rebuild/reverse that?

I’d say between 13.7-14 stone, I’m around 5ft 5 and around that weight I was comfortably in 16s (I carry weight mostly on my legs but had a big lower torso)

i’m not any kind of expert, there may well be people here who know a lot more about it than me, but I believe you can (at least to some extent). It’s part of standard NHS advice as you get older. Watch calcium, vitamin D and protein intake. Do some exercise, particularly weight bearing and improving flexibility.

NSV for me yesterday. I was very annoyed with myself when I realised I forgot to put on my chubrub shorts yesterday when I got to work but I was fine the entire day and it involved a lot of walking so that’s exciting.

I can’t decide if I need to go up a dose or not. I’ve been on 10 for awhile now but seem to be eating a lot more than I used to be able to fit in and wanting more treat type food which had completely disappeared before. and my losses have been sooo small for along time now I just don’t know what to do for the best. Go up and see if that does is better or stay on 10 and make more of an effort I just don’t want to ruin all the progress I have made.
