Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Can anyone help me figure out the maths for this please.
I have a 5mg pen, 3 doses left (incl golden) =15mg
but I want to use it to titrate down so instead do 4 x 3.75mg
I know that is equal to 45clicks/0.4 (and a half) ml
but I think on the third dose I will have to do some clicks and some ml with an independent needle - this is the maths bit I can’t wrap my head around, can anyone help please?

You need to count how many clicks you get out of the pen, then remember that 0.6ml on a needle is equal to a full dose. So 0.3 is half a dose and 0.15 is equal to a quarter dose. So you should be able to roughly calculate how much of the golden dose you need.
Please someone correct me if I’ve got this wrong! Maths is not my strong point! I’m hoping I’ve got the measurements correct on the needle as well 😳

I think the being tired issue is worse because there's a woman at my work, who is actually lovely, but who has managed to lose a lot of weight recently without jabs. She keeps talking about how great she feels, how much more energy she has etc. Thinking back, I seem to remember always being tired when losing weight? The unfortunate fact is that (short term), I always feel good and energised when crammed full of sugar and nicotine.

In other news, family have started commenting on how despite looking really good and having done well, I need to "be careful and not take it too far". Which is... I suppose quite flattering in a way, although maybe a bit misguided as I'm still firmly in the "overweight" BMI category. Some of them were also concerned I was "getting too heavy" a few months ago, so apparently the acceptable weight window is quite small 🤦‍♀️ I know it comes from a place of love though, so shouldn't complain too much.

@Doidontimmm Yeah about 1/3 of my hair has fallen out due to telogen effluvium. It's slowed down a bit now but it's been really strange seeing handfuls of hair in the shower. It does stop eventually and grow back normally.

(I have supplemented throughout with collagen to no effect.)

I am also exhausted, like everyone here, it seems. My energy is absolutely on the floor. It's really affecting my work now. Weirdly now everyone has started telling me I look great... Now I'm knackered and my hair has fallen out? Bit weird. I'm not feeling that great at the moment, honestly. I feel like I'm fighting with my body.

Still bouncing around that 71 / 72kg set point.

I wouldn’t bother with clicks for the 3rd dose would just use a needle otherwise you’ll have to jab yourself twice!

To get 3.75mg from a 5mg pen is 45 clicks
For the 3rd and 4th dose you will need 0.45 in a needle - it’s going to be tricky to get your final dose because you need every drop of liquid in the pen…

Morning everyone - end of wk 22 for me and I stayed the same. I’ve lost 2.5 st in total now and I’m in the healthy BMI range but I do still want to shift that last 7lb. This is a set point for me though - I’m now the weight I was for a lot of my 30’s so I know I just need to be consistent - I don’t plan on changing anything this week but if I don’t lose I will need to look at more formally counting calories… still on 5mg and suppression still good.

Pepperwaggytail · 29/08/2025 07:06

I’ve been hovering at 9st 11- 9st 12 for the last month. I still have hunger suppression on 2.5mg but today is day 5 and my aim is to push out to jabbing weekly now instead of every 4-5 days so I guess I’ll find out if I’m hungry today and tomorrow!
Im finding that my larger friends and family are ignoring my weight loss and my thinner friends are like welcome to the club! Very strange how people react!
Im still feeling tired in the couple of days after the jab, but I do have a lot more energy in exercise classes, so working out harder and we are doing loads of diy and gardening, so my exercise levels have increased a lot in the past month. So possibly part of the tiredness is due to that!
Oh - I wanted ask those of you who shrank your jeans… what temperature did you wash them on and for how long? 😂

Lundier · 29/08/2025 07:22

@Pepperwaggytail I washed mine at 90 for 2 hours 40 minutes, which is the boil wash setting on my machine. This doesn't actually mean it stays at 90 all that time, just that it reaches 90 at some point in the cycle.

Then I threw them in the dryer for a double go (I put a wet towel in too for the second run).

They did shrink quite a bit but stretched out again anyway fairly soon. I'd say they are smaller but not by much. Just enough to keep them up. However the trousers with a high wool content did properly shrink and have stayed shrunk!

Have you recalculated your TDEE for your new weight so you know what your cals are for loss and maintenance depending on your age, height, activity level? Mine is 950 to lose and 1450 to maintain at 58yrs, sedentary, 5’3’, and 68kg - This will get lower as I aim to shift another 5-10kg.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 29/08/2025 15:18

@Pepperwaggytail and @Incognitoburrito88 Ive been up and down around the same weight for 6 weeks now 😖

I have been really good this week so was hoping for 1lb off but not to be. On the plus side, I haven’t been fluctuating up to 3lbs as I have been in previous 5 weeks so I’ll take that as a positive….

3lbs from original goal weight although probably should be 10lbs to move me out from the margins of top end BMI

W20 D1
SW:12.12 (BMI 30.3)
TW: 10.5 (-2.5 stone - BMI 24.2)
CW: 10.8 (BMI 24.7)

W1: - 6lb
W2: - 3lb
W3: - 2lb
W4: - 3lb (total 1 stone 💪)
W5: -3lb
W6: -0lb
W7: -3lb
W8: -2lb (total 1 1/2 stones 🙌)
W9: -0lb (holiday)
W10: -2lb
W11: -3lb
W12: -1lb (total 2 stones 💪)
W13: -2lb (long weekend away)
W14: +1lb (bad week, been poorly)
W15: -2lb (back on it!). Need to keep on it
W16: -1lb
W17: +1lb holiday and no MJ for 3 days)
W18: -1lb
W19: -0lbs
W20: -0lbs (total 2 stone 4lbs & stuck!)

20 weeks feels to have gone so quickly! And it’s lovely to have this little community 🙌

Pepperwaggytail · 29/08/2025 20:29

I’ve had my worst food day so far! I ate some lemon cake (very nice) and had half a huge chocolate chip cookie later in the day. I’ve been hungry today! Jab day not till Sunday and I’ve been bored and hanging round the house today - partly bored/ wanted something nice to eat and party actual hunger. I’m hoping park run tomorrow burns them off! 2.5 mg weekly is going to require some actual will power I think, if I want to maintain…. 🤔
I might jab tomorrow if I still feel the same rather than wait till Sunday.

SquishyGloopyBum · 30/08/2025 08:23

Well I lost 2lbs and hit my goal this week! 10st7lbs.

2stone 9lb loss in 20 weeks. Jabbed yesterday - 3.75mg (to make my pens go further).

Feels a bit odd and I’m hoping I can maintain. Annoyingly I still feel I have a spare tyre and chunky thighs. I’m BMI 24 so I could drop a few more pounds but I don’t want to lose any more from my face as my wrinkles are showing more now. Never happy 😆

Icebreakhell · 30/08/2025 09:17

Well done everyone!

The weekly check-in for me.

3.75mg dose.

SW 94kg
CW 70.3kg
TW 70kg
new TW 68kg

I'm now 0.3 kg off target. Am going to set a new target of 68kg which more comfortably puts me in normal BMI. Also I still have some belly fat to shift. I never thought I’d hit 70kg.

Squiffy01 · 30/08/2025 10:21

1.5lb loss for me this week.

my wedding ring still doesn’t fit even though I now weigh less than I did when I got engaged.

definitely need to up my exercise which is currently hardly any and try and tone things up.

I have started to worry about coming off. I’m not at goal, to be honest don’t even know what my goal is, but I am now in healthy weight range. Just so scared it will instantly go back on.
My eating has changed somewhat but only because of the jabs. As we eat with my son in the evenings out meals themselves were healthy 95% of the time. My portions were definitely too big which the jabs sorted out. And I snacked a lot mostly on chocolate. Again that has stopped because of the jabs so I worry as soon as I stop I will crave it again.

RhaenysRocks · 30/08/2025 17:21

I'm still only halfway to goal and have really stalled. I need to get back to work (school) to build the regular routine. I've lost v little over the holidays, maybe 5 lb in 8 weeks. Feeling v meh today.

SeaDippingandLattes · 30/08/2025 18:53

@Doidontimmm im losing loads and it’s really stressing me out - would rather stay a bit fat then possibly lose it all 😳 I’ve been taking collagen but that’s not helped. Don’t know if I should take something else also?

@Mumof2studentnurse your weight loss is absolutely INCREDIBLE 🙌 well done that’s amazing x

Doidontimmm · 30/08/2025 20:29

@SeaDippingandLattes I have been recommended multivitamins & pumpkin seed oil

ClimbingKilimounjaro · 30/08/2025 23:04

I have hair loss (significant) from another drug I take.

Rosemary oil and head massage have done wonders for regrowth and I definitely see a 4-6 month cycle of it when I’m losing/treating/growing.

Uninvitedleaf · 31/08/2025 07:17

Finally a catch up week on losses for me. 2.4lb off this week taking me to 1st 13.4lb loss in total, should hit the 2 stone mark next week and be into overweight BMI instead of obese shortly after that. I might need to try to measure my height accurately as I’m never sure if I’m 5’1 or 5’2 which makes a difference of about 4lb to the boundary 😂.

I still can’t get my head round being smaller. I bought some size 14 trousers and a size small t-shirt yesterday. Honestly I look fabulous in both (can say that to you lot, obviously wouldn’t say it out loud) so I had to get them but I was convinced they wouldn’t fit when I went into the changing room. I only took the t-shirt in because I really liked it and it was the only size they had. Was actually thinking i could see how it looked and maybe get a bigger size online 🤯 .

I can’t believe that I lost 2kg on holiday for 2 weeks in France where lots of Rose and cheese was consumed. I have been stuck at 68kg for a month before so was expecting to have gained. I didn’t snack or have treats and avoided the boulangerie. We are out nearly every night. I mostly stuck to 16:8 but we were pretty active. I won’t drink now as back home - felt I had to as we invited various friends to visit and my DDs said I was skinny and not to lose anymore weight. I now need to work on the toning up. I am still BMI 26 but I haven’t got wrinkled in the face yet - so I will stop here. I look comfortable in a 10 and at my age 58 no one is looking closely at my body and I can’t afford a face lift. I am thinking of signing up for a half marathon in Oct - The Royal Parks in London - so would be quite a training programme across 6 weeks. Many of my family and friends are doing it and today is the last chance to register.

saxonyv · 31/08/2025 07:38

I need to work on toning up too, I’ve got the MJ arse, used to have a lovely bum but now it looks flat as a pancake in trousers and no definition, but I still have that mum pooch that sticks out, definitely giving Winnie the Pooh vibes!

I’m the same Squishy! I think my wrinkles have got worse 😩 but yesterday I did park run and had very little appetite all day plus listening to half a pound this week! And that’s after a day (Friday) of eating crap and being very hungry!
We went out for a curry last night and I ate a lot less than usual, plus I wasn’t bothered by alcohol. It seems like dropping down to 2.5mg has somehow re set me. I’m relieved because I was worried about how I would manage on a lower dose.
ClimbingKilimounjaro can you tell us more about Rosemary oil please? Where do you buy it? Do you do your own head massage?

Uninvitedleaf I feel I look fabulous too! (Apart from the wrinkles!😩) I don’t recognise myself in shop windows and even my shadow looks a lot smaller! Even my husband loves the weight loss (though he would never say anything whatever size I am) but he looks at me differently these days, and isn’t complaining about the cost any more!

knackredd Do the half marathon! You will love it! I always feel better about myself when running even though I’m loads slower than I was years ago. With my new body I feel
so much better about I look when I’m running, even though much bigger people overtake me all the time!

Routine definitely helps. But, don’t be disheartened- you are still loosing. Without MJ you probably would have gained or given up. That’s certainly the difference it’s made with me.

Also, 5lb in weight is a lot. Think of it as bags of sugar!

Thank you...I really don't want to go up a dose from 5. Can't afford it for a start. Lets hope September gives me a fresh start.
