Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Just in case anyone else is a regular donor or thinking of doing it - I have given blood today for the first time since starting MJ and it all went fine. They said my iron levels are very good.

I was a bit nervous of blood sugar dropping as I have had one of those days where I’m struggling to eat a lot so I’ve treated myself to a bag of emergency fruit jellies just in case I start to feel woozy. Apparently you lose about 650 calories so I can afford to eat a few!

Keep having this awful tiredness around 4pm or 5pm - anyone else? Yesterday I literally fell asleep between 5:30 and about 8pm as couldn't keep my eyes open. Only time I've had similar, is when I've been pregnant (which I most definitely am not).

I can relate, getting in from work and ready for bed! Think I might need to book bloods just to check my levels are ok

SunnySpellsAhead · 26/08/2025 19:56

I was turned down at my latest blood donor session as iron too low, even though I'd been taking supplements. They told me to eat mackerel as I don't eat meat, but I'd been overdosing on it trying to keep my protein up, sick to death of it now!

Can relate re the fatigue too but mine always hits the day or so after I jab. Not sure what the answer is. Tried L-Tyrosine supplements but no difference.

Oushk have published their new prices I see, 5mg is £25 more at £174 so not too horrendous but I think the higher doses are worse, £310 for 15mg.

Uninvitedleaf · 26/08/2025 20:29

Well I’m currently in bed reading but I’m not sure if it’s MJ or just my normal state of being. I’ve always loved a nap! I was hoping to have more energy as I lost weight but that doesn't seem to have materialised yet.

@SunnySpellsAhead I was quite surprised they said my iron levels were good as I thought that might catch me out. I don’t think they’ve ever been commented on before unless too low! Last time they turned me down I was advised, completely unofficially, to go home and have a bit of dark chocolate and a large glass of red wine 😂. We don’t eat huge amounts of meat but I do have quite a lot of eggs (for the protein) so maybe that’s helping me (definitely not had chocolate or wine recently).

I’m with Swift and they are going to have a big jump between 5mg and 7.5mg like a lot of providers. Think it’s £169 for 5mg, £225 for 7.5mg and £289 for 15mg. I’m still only on 5mg so hoping I can stay here which wouldn’t be too awful price-wise.

This is a really interesting podcast - very down to earth (practical rather than medically focused) that I think many here might enjoy..

I have this too ! Having dropped down to 2.5mg from 3.13mg it’s started again. I can usually push through it, but had to have a snooze the other day. I’m usually getting ready for bed by 9pm.

I’ve listened to them, wasn’t Paddy on the Biggest Loser? They are quite funny, I usually put them on if I can’t sleep and drift off listening to them so I can’t say I’ve actually heard all the content! 😂

Weigh day for me - Week 20. I started on April 9th.

Start Weight - 21st 9lbs (303lbs)
Current Weight - 15st 1lbs (211lbs)
Weight lost this week - 6lbs
Total weight lost - 6st 8lbs (92lbs)

I was looking at the photo I sent to medexpress when I first started Mounjaro and comparing it to a photo from now. I still have a long way to go, but there is a massive difference. I hadn't looked at myself in a full-length mirror in years. I look at myself every day now.

Wishing you all well :)

QS90 · 27/08/2025 08:06

Well I guess it's reassuring to know I'm not alone @pepperwaggytail & @saxonyv x Still bloody annoying though! Going to make a renewed effort to remember my Active Irons.

I had another doze this afternoon 😌

Doidontimmm · 27/08/2025 20:48

I too am totally exhausted. In bed at 7 last 2 nights, tonight nearly made it to 9!!!

Nellodee · 27/08/2025 21:18

I’m an April lurker, and just wanted to share that mmp have some 10mg in stock at the moment, as I know some are struggling to get their next pens.

saxonyv · 28/08/2025 12:08

I’m usually always an early riser, latest usually 8am.
went to bed 11.30pm last night after a meal out and didn’t wake up til almost 10am this morning! Will be interesting to see my blood test results - will keep you all updated!

Anyone suffering from hair loss. I’ve just started Lodi quite a bit it’s alarming me. I’ve got long thick hair thankfully but wondering what I can do? I eat healthy & am losing slowly around 1-1.4 a week so it’s not fast weight loss.

Sorry don't know what you mean by Lodi?

I haven't had hair loss losing weight this time around, but once went travelling to a country where I had food poisoning on and off for 3 months and lost LOADS of hair, so I do feel your pain. The only plus (though not sure whether it'll make you feel any better short term), is that it did grow back thick again, once I could keep my food inside me.

I think hair loss can be caused by a lack of calories, or other factors such as a nutrient deficiency. I'd take a multivitamin (every other day, to improve absorption), if you're not already, in case it's the latter, and manage any stress etc. But if it's the lack of calories itself, there's not much you can do ime, and the damage might already be done short-term, because the hair loss usually happens during the next cycle of that follicle iirc. That is, the calorie restriction last week, may already have "programmed" some of your hair follicles to lose / not regrow for the time being.

A side note, when my hair thinned, I was recommended an oily scalp massage to slow it, by lots of people trying to be helpful. I really, really wouldn't recommend!! It seemed to knock a load of my hairs loose when I tried it (might be useful under other circumstances idk) and the poor man doing it had to stop because his hands were covered in lots of greasy, dislodged hairs 😬

Doidontimmm · 28/08/2025 15:39

Typo - losing not Lodi!

I will avoid the massage then & try a multivitamin.

Thank you.

Can anyone help me figure out the maths for this please.
I have a 5mg pen, 3 doses left (incl golden) =15mg
but I want to use it to titrate down so instead do 4 x 3.75mg
I know that is equal to 45clicks/0.4 (and a half) ml
but I think on the third dose I will have to do some clicks and some ml with an independent needle - this is the maths bit I can’t wrap my head around, can anyone help please?

saxonyv · 28/08/2025 17:10

my next pen I’ll do 2.5mg for each dose so easier to work out 😂

knackredd · 28/08/2025 17:14

Thought I would pop back to Zava to try to get a pen ahead of 1st Sept price hike - but the prices are raised already.

blanketsnuggler · 28/08/2025 17:54

Just back off holiday. I took a 7.5 jab 6 days before I left, and was away for 2 weeks, so 3 weeks since last jab. I tried to be reasonably good, and was able to refuse much alcohol by being the driver, but did eat ice cream and a fair amount of lovely Greek food.
The damage?
I put on 1kg, so I am fairly pleased with that. I even bought a bikini and some clothes as I felt so much better about my body. 😀
Back on it today with a 5mg dose.

saxonyv · 28/08/2025 17:57

Well done @blanketsnuggler that’s fab!

Ive been keeping an eye on shotsy when I’ve been jabbing and noticed it takes about 2 weeks before most of the mounjaro leaves your system.
I have been trying to get an extra day here or there some weeks when I’ve not been feeling hungry close to jab day

Well done - that’s a great outcome. I am interested in how you get on dropping down the doses.

I was on 10mg and have just taken my 4th dose of 7.5mg - and I have noticed the change - maybe it’s psychological? I will take my bonus dose and then I have 2 x 5mg pens which I had planned to use as 2.5mg maintenance for 20 weeks.
