Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

Oh my goodness @saxonyv we must have been reading similar things - I was reading about how our organs function better because they don't have fat crushing them anymore and that helps us feel better overall with weight loss. Very interesting.

Uninvitedleaf · 23/08/2025 15:06

I think it's also the fat around organs (visceral fat) which is the really dangerous stuff from a health perspective (risk factor for everything from diabetes to dementia) and MJ is supposed to be particularly helpful in getting us to burn this off. So regardless of where we are in relation to goal weight I think we should all be very very happy that we've significantly reduced our risk of these already!

Pepperwaggytail · 23/08/2025 15:20

We should all be very proud of ourselves - those of you who still have a way to go, if at all financially possible I hope you can carry on investing in your own health and mental wellbeing. We will still be here to support you even if you have to switch meds or stop altogether. 😍

fox919 · 23/08/2025 18:24

Congratulations to everyone for how well you’re all getting on!

All the positivity is making me feel bad for my upcoming complaint 😂 so sorry if I bring the mood down!

I’ve only got my bonus dose left and really frustrated that both my ZAVA and Medexpress orders are still ‘awaiting clinical review’ 😩 zava said I’d be reviewed between 21-23 august, but no email as of yet and the pending payment seems to have disappeared from my online banking which doesn’t look good! Medexpress said on Thursday that they’d marked it as urgent as it had been longer that the stated (already delayed) processing time, but nothing from them either. Tried ordering with juniper last night, so waiting on clinical review with them 🤞🤞🤞I still have 1.5 stone to goal and I’m quite a slow loser so really wanted to have a few pens to make it through before having to pay the crazy prices if I’m still not there by the time they ran out. Also tried ordering from bolt as someone else mentioned them, but they seem to be out of stock for everything but 2.5mg. Nothing I can do but wait, but as the days pass I get more and more anxious about it..

Uninvitedleaf · 23/08/2025 21:38

@fox919 how awful for you, not surprised you’re stressed out. Hope some of those orders come through, with them going in well before the deadline fingers crossed you’ll get at least some of them. What dose are you on?

OP posts:
SunnySpellsAhead · 23/08/2025 21:55

You can't possibly bring my mood down any lower @fox919 so don't worry about that. Its been as flat as a flattened pancake today, the worst day I've had on MJ (only 3mg as well 😭) I know it's the meds as it used to happen in the beginning after I jabbed but it eased off lately.

Anyway, nothing to add to your predicament except offer sympathy. I was supposed to have a delivery today but it's not happened, Oushk apparently out of 5mg now on top of everything else. We watch and wait I guess. Maybe split the bonus dose to at least keep some in your system?

SusanSometimes · 23/08/2025 22:52

Hi all, haven't posted for a while but have been keeping going. Good to read how everyone is doing, and dealing with the news this week. It's great to have such a supportive thread. I lose slowly myself, but that's OK. I couldn't have done it without MJ. I'm getting very close to a two stone loss now, with another three to go. @Uninvitedleaf your post earlier today really resonated with me and I feel very much the same.

I did have a great NSV last week, someone I haven't seen for a while noticed the weight loss and I was really chuffed. I also got told that I'd run up the stairs at work like a 20 year old, which was nice.

I ordered my next pen yesterday, another 5mg. It got approved a few hours later, all good. Then today I decided to chance my arm and see if I could order another. I told them I'd already ordered my next one, and asked if I could order another 5mg because I was concerned about supply and the price increases. It got approved within 30 minutes! So I will have a small supply in the fridge. I'm with My BMI in Ireland, if anyone's interested. They have 2.5mg, 5mg and 7.5mg in stock, but not the higher doses. I'm very lucky, I suppose, in being able to afford to keep paying it, but it's a really awful situation and I feel for those who can't. I hope it gets resolved soon.

Pepperwaggytail · 24/08/2025 07:02

My new pen arrived from Bolt yesterday. I’ve asked if I can order another one as they are much cheaper than Medexpress but they are overwhelmed and I expect out of stock!
I’m taking my first 2.5mg dose today, and will aim for every seven days now rather than every five days as I start maintenance.

Thanks @Uninvitedleaf (and @SunnySpellsAhead)

Currently on 10mg. My orders with zava and Medexpress were for 10mg, I requested 12.5mg from juniper.

fox919 · 24/08/2025 08:04

Sorry to hear you’re feeling low @SunnySpellsAhead ❤️ I hope it eases asap (and that your oushk delivery arrives!)

QS90 · 24/08/2025 09:31

Weighed today after being at parents a few days. Currently 177lbs, so total loss of 47lbs (3 stone 5lbs) in almost exactly 5 months. Very pleased. Have decided to aim for 11.5 stone, rather than 12 stone.

No hanging skin, thankfully. Although I certainly have skin I can pull out, especially around my thighs. So far, it snaps back into place. Might be chancing it to drop just over another stone, but we will see. Have ordered some more retinol body lotion, to hopefully help.

Really need to start doing some weight training, as others here have said! But tbh am exhausted a lot of the time, from it being the school holidays and also from losing the weight I think. Feel like during maintenance might be a good time to start. My brother is trained as a personal trainer, and says it is very hard to lose weight and build muscle simultaneously. Kiddikins will both hopefullybe settled / resettled at school / nursery soon too.

well done, that is an amazing loss!

I actually think now is the time to do the weight training. It will help with the skin issues as you will be building muscle, not wasting it, and thus the muscle tone will help to fill the skin and compensate for loss of fat.

I don’t agree with your brother. I’ve weight trained since being on the jabs (2st9lb loss). It’s really helped now I’m at below 25 BMI. It’s hard to weight train while losing weight if you are bodybuilding, but not for normal muscle tone.

My scales have done their weigh in bounce yet again this morning so I’m recording 11st12 for the week. This is 1.6lb down on last Sunday which is great - but I have been 11st11 since about Thursday so heaven knows where that extra lb appeared from in the last 24 hours. Maybe my cats are secretly rubbing something heavy on me overnight 😂.

Perhaps I should stop getting on the scales every day but I really like seeing it drop a bit mid week. Also when I only get a small loss I can tell myself it’s the Sunday effect and it will come down again quickly!

Wk22 & 3lbs down today which I'm delighted with. 3 weeks of staying the same & now 5lbs off in 2 weeks, weight loss is weird sometimes!

SW 16.6
CW 14.1

Really looking forward to getting into a new stone bracket & NSV of 8 inches lost from my waist & my size 18 jeans are getting loose.

Pepperwaggytail · 24/08/2025 15:54

I weigh every day and track on happy scale - sometimes you don’t realise you’ve lost a pound in the last seven days when it’s up and down, but happy scale lets you know! 😎

Uninvitedleaf · 24/08/2025 17:09

I love my gadgets so am wondering if I’d get much out of a smart scale so that it would record my daily weight automatically. Maybe a fitness tracker too, although I am not sure I need something to tell me I’m a lazy so-and-so and I need to get up and move, as I pretty much know that already 😂😂.

@Uninvitedleafi have a Fitbit watch and Fitbit scales. I’ve had the scales over 5 years and still going strong.

Sadly it also reminds me of the yo yo weight over the past 10 years 🙈.

Now I’m down to 25 BMI I’m struggling and have been on and around the same weight for 3 weeks 🥴

@WinterOnItsWayOutare you me?!

I also have the Fitbit scales. I’m also struggling to shift much now I’m below BMI25. It’s coming off but slowly. I’m wondering if it’s just where I should settle at now.

My friend has Fitbit scales and I know she really likes them, but I believe Fitbit was bought by Google a few years ago and from early next year everything’s going to have to run via a Google account (they’re switching off the Fitbit app). That doesn’t work for me as I don’t want to be tracked by Google 24/7 so I’ve dithered over what to do for ages. I’ve realised Boots have an offer on the basic Garmin tracker which gets good reviews so I’ve just ordered that as an alternative, I’ll see how I go with it and maybe think about asking for some Bluetooth scales for my birthday in October.

I’ve taken a month to drop a couple more pounds and I’m bmi 24.4 now, it’s going to slow down, but I keep reminding myself my body needs to adjust and accept a lower set weight and that’s fine. I had four weeks when I didn’t lose anything. Then a couple more pounds dropped off.
I’m actually really nervous about trying to maintain and all my old anxieties have come back about “good” food and “bad” food. I did my first 2.5 jab yesterday and felt a bit queasy yesterday actually. We went out for lunch and I had a panini in a cafe and ate all of it (previously I’d manage maybe 2/3) and then I felt sick! Possibly all psychological! 😳😂

WinterOnItsWayOut · 25/08/2025 09:50

@SquishyGloopyBumyes, we do seem to have been on exactly the same journey! Every time I read one of your posts I think you are me 🤣

@Uninvitedleafyes, I got a new Fitbit last year and could only set it up via a Google account which I was pretty pissed off about at the time. I’ve got over it now 😂

@Pepperwaggytaili fear it’s pretty much all psychological once we get to the maintain phase 😖

knackredd · 25/08/2025 16:37

Does anyone have any insight into how people have fared on maintenance maybe in the US as they are ahead of us? I have read the Eli Lily maintenance clinical trial. Basically everyone was on 15mg for 12 months. All had lost 20% of their body weight. Then half had a placebo and other half had maintenance dose (which was 15mg). Neither group knew if they had placebo or active dose. After 39 weeks - the 15mg group had maintained their 20% loss whilst the placebo group had gained 10% but still 10% down.

Squiffy01 · 25/08/2025 17:23

@knackredd that does not sound good does it.
And how is 15 a maintenance dose I thought you would move down to maintain???

That was just the trial by the drug company who I suspect wanted to ensure that maintenance worked in order to get the licence approved for that indication which would likely make them more money than the weight loss part. I suspect lots of people are experimenting with lower doses now for maintenance but that’s only anecdotal. I struggle to understand how you would stay the same and not keep losing at that dose though? Having said that I lost loads on 2.5 which is where I plan to head back to (more than I have lost on higher doses - went to 10 now on 7.5 and will do 5 next month).
