Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

I ordered my last pen on Monday and was delivered today.

I’ve only got about 5lbs to lose so should be fine (am splitting 5mg to 2.5) but I’ve stalled over the last 4 weeks (holiday involved but only put on 1lb 🤨)

Really hoping to get back into the loss zone this week 🤞

Squiffy01 · 21/08/2025 08:02

Weigh in day today and -2.4lbs this week after hardly anything last week.

my mood had been very very low this week so am thankful for the MJ not letting me get off track as I know falling off the wagon would make that even worse.

my next mini goal is 1.1lb away I wanted to get there before September 1st which is still doable but no idea if it will happen as some weeks I lose well and some I don’t so will just have to wait and see.

Mumof2studentnurse · 21/08/2025 08:40

@Squiffy01 Great loss :) I'm so sorry to hear that your mood has been low though - thats difficult, I am glad mounjaro has helped you stay on track though. Its hard. I really hope you feel better this week :)

Pepperwaggytail · 22/08/2025 08:14

I have been approved by Bolt! No video call or proof of weight, but they did ask for screen shots of my previous prescriptions and a recent photo. So my next 7.5 pen is on its way!

I fessed up about the jabs to an old friend yesterday, she came to see me in the new house and I was wearing gym wear and she said she’s never seen me wearing anything that doesn’t completely cover my body up! She’s the most non judgemental person I know, so I told her and she was very positive about it.

I’ve had quite a few compliments in the gym this week which was lovely, but one lady asked what I’d been doing to lose the weight and I said “Oh I’ve moved house, probably not been eating properly and not really stopped rushing round” (That’s been my stock answer) and she said “So eating less and moving more really does work then!” I felt a bit awful because I just nodded and agreed 😒

In other news I’m now 9st 11lbs and even my new size 10 jeans are getting loose! (I’m going to try putting those new jeans buttons from Amazon on them to take them in) So I’ve decided to start maintenance now. I’m going to start with 2.5mg every week and see what happens. This means every pen should give me 12 weeks plus the golden dose. So I’ll get a good five - six months from the two full pens. I just need to remember to order another one before the five month mark! I’m really hoping that I’ll maintain on that, and I’ll have the option to switch to wegovy if the Mounjaro prices feel too steep.

Does it work out cheaper to get 2.5 doses from 7.5 pen than a 5 pen?

Incognitoburrito88 · 22/08/2025 11:40

Morning losers!!

It’s my official weigh day today…

wk 21: - 2 lb
SW 13st 7 lb
CW 11st
GW 10st 7 lb
total lost 2.5 stone

2nd week on 5mg and it’s been ok. My period started a couple of days ago and I was definitely more hungry and interested in chocolate but it wasn’t unmanageable. I’m hoping to get to goal on 5mg although I have got a 7.5mg pen on order with oushk just in case. Plan is to take 5mg doses from it though… I’m a daily weigher so I know scales haven’t moved since Saturday! I’m desperate to get down into the 10 stone bracket… but husband and I are going out for a six course tasting menu dinner tomorrow though so that might delay things a bit. We have 4 kids and almost never have time just the two of us so I want to enjoy it - I’ve not jabbed today and plan to jab when I get home tomorrow after the meal. I’ve warned him I won’t be able to eat everything - I think he’s looking forward to getting my left overs. We also had a really good talk last night about not eating when you feel full and also what it is I’ll enjoy about the evening out when I’m not stuffing myself with food. My husband is super skinny but he does try to understand.

well done on reaching maintenance @Pepperwaggytail i feel like that’s where the challenge will really start for me but I’m looking forward to it.

SquishyGloopyBum · 22/08/2025 12:26

Weigh in day here!

it’s 1lb off for me, although last week I had gained 1lb so I’m pretty much staying the same now - I weigh daily and the fluctuations are wild!

wk19 6.25mg CW 10st 9.
SW 13st 1lb. GW 10st 7 - not far to go although I do wonder if my current weight is where I’m naturally settling.

Mumof2studentnurse · 22/08/2025 18:30

Im trying to update it with prices...

Yes I think so! Medexpress have just released their new prices - the higher the dose the bigger the increase!

Incognitoburrito88 · 22/08/2025 23:17

Well done @SquishyGloopyBum - what’s your maintenance plan? You’re so nearly at goal!

ClimbingKilimounjaro · 22/08/2025 23:38

I’m awaiting approval for a 10mg pen from Medexpress and hoping they sort it out soon as these new prices are not it!

Not sure about anyone else but so glad I started back in April. I’m only just over half way, (21kg lost of 33kg) so not sure how to manage the rest of my journey now but we’ll all get there one way or another.

SquishyGloopyBum · 23/08/2025 07:07

I’m really glad I started in April too @ClimbingKilimounjaroI really feel sorry for those who have only just started it.

The MedExpress prices are really high. I only hope that there are offers.

Thanks @Incognitoburrito88i was going to stay on the jabs until at least Christmas to help me stay on track before coming off. But with the new prices I’m not sure. Might try wegovy. What a pain!

Agreed. I just have a stone left to lose, and will hopefully be able to do that on my current pen (just opened), and any others I manage to acquire before the prices go up. Just got paid today, so have reordered from MedExpress. Can't reorder from Bolt until 30th August! Cutting it fine.

Conversely I have a friend who really wants to go on them, but has been dithering about not doing it for one reason or another, and who has now missed the boat 😟 Of course she might do Wegovy.

MJ always had a bit of a "too good to last" feeling to me. Didn't expect it to become unavailable because of Trump though! I had assumed it would get banned by UK government.

Incognitoburrito88 · 23/08/2025 08:18

@QS90 yes - I’ve had that too good to last feeling too. Like this couldn’t possibly be the answer to a lifetime of self hatred and yo yo dieting. I’ve always had this fear that if I don’t keep the weight off this time MJ wouldn’t be an option again in the future but like you I thought it would get banned or become so highly regulated that only those meeting the ridiculous NHS criteria could access it.

Lundier · 23/08/2025 09:28

I'm so sorry for everyone who has been disrupted. Just another random pile of shit courtesy of DJT. What a mess.

For me, thank goodness, I've accumulated a backlog of three pens already from taking half doses so I think I'll just need to order maybe one more, which I can do with Juniper - they've promised to honour the old price until the end of September. That will see me through to early next summer, at which point I hope the pills will be available. The pills will be cheaper because they won't need a cold supply chain, which is a huge part of what makes the injections expensive in the US. Anything not shelf stable is more expensive in the US, even food.

SunnySpellsAhead · 23/08/2025 10:10

Weigh day today, 2lbs off. 22nd jab yesterday and 2st 11lb lost in almost 5 months.

Yes, another one who's so glad to have got a head start in April. I'm 46% of the way there and predicted to hit goal around February time (may not be the end goal though, will have to review). Feels like I'll never have this opportunity again, so will have to cut right back on other things and stretch pens to manage till then.

After that, it's a big worry. Shocked at some of the prices trickling in but even more determined to stay below 5mg all the way through. It's brilliant that it is actually still working on only 3mg, although hunger and cravings are back now and it is getting a bit harder. It does help with satiety though, once I eat I'm pretty satisfied for a while, which was never the case before.

Hope we all find a way through, would be hard to see people dropping out at this stage.

saxonyv · 23/08/2025 10:28

SW - 14st 11lb
CW - 11st 4lb
GW - 10st 10lb

officially lost 3 and a half stone! Can’t actually believe it and I can finally see the difference when I look in the mirror.

I have 1 pen left, didn’t manage to stockpile because of the cost but I’m so close to goal that I’m going to just half dose so I’ll get 2 months out of 1 pen, may not get full suppression but some and that should help.

I too am glad we started in April!

Mumof2studentnurse · 23/08/2025 11:04

Well done @saxonyv - I am sure you feel fantastic :)

Uninvitedleaf · 23/08/2025 11:16

It's so inspiring to see how well everyone's doing. I'm not even half way there - just coming up to two stone loss and I have another two to go so I will be here a while. Fortunately I have three pens in the fridge - I had got a bit ahead anyway with taking five doses from a pen, so was going to skip ordering this month but didn't and got my regular one instead. Not sure I'd have started now between the prices and the chaos so also feeling lucky to be where we are and to have a bit of breathing space over the next 3-4 months. At that point I can reassess where I am and will be drawing on experiences of those ahead of me!

Looking back I think I was in serious denial about just how overweight I was, so losing slowly has been really important for me to come to terms with that. When I started I couldn't have admitted I had 4 stone to lose to be healthy (30% of my starting weight) and I was kidding myself that 11-11.5 stone would be a sensible weight for me at 5'1". It would be much better than where I was, but still significantly overweight - I'm officially still obese now! One of the things MJ has done for me is to make it possible for me to just keep going which makes this feel like I've changed my view of my body and what it needs, not a "diet".

Mumof2studentnurse · 23/08/2025 11:23

@Uninvitedleaf - I am several stone away from being in the healthy weight category, so I will be here for a while too - im not sure if I will switch to Wegovy or not, but I will cross that bridge in a few weeks time. For now, I am just trying to make good choices and change my habits as best I can. I am so grateful for the weight I have lost so far. I have a couple of milestones I would like to achieve over the next few weeks, so hopefully I can get there :)

ClimbingKilimounjaro · 23/08/2025 11:31

Yes I can really relate with not actually acknowledging just how overweight I was. Even measuring in KG feels like a way to not acknowledge the weight I got to in stones and lbs which is how my brain truly works. I lost 5lbs prior to starting mounjaro, so in total I am 3 stone 8lbs down and I am STILL overweight and realising that I feel so much better but there is absolutely still a way to go to get to a healthy BMI.

Pen wise, I have one regular dose and one bonus dose left in a 7.5mg pen (medical grade needles ordered thanks all!). A new 7.5mg pen in the fridge and a 10mg pen on order but it hasn’t been approved so not hopeful I’ll get it on the old pricing system. So I have 7 doses left in my fridge and hopefully another 6 doses of 7.5mg if I get the 10mg pen approved. This would take me to the end of November and hopefully only 8-10 weeks from there to target. But I am also aware that my average 2.4lb weight loss for week won’t be sustained the smaller I get so I am prepared for it to take longer.

Ultimately I am now at the point in my life where I feel that I am worth investing in and will have to make the relevant cut backs elsewhere to ensure I see this through as I haven’t felt this good in years and genuinely love that I am feeling so healthy and ready to do the park runs and triathlons I have spent years wishing I had the energy to do!

SW 99.3kg
CW 78.9kg
TW somewhere between 60-65kg

Icebreakhell · 23/08/2025 11:44

Checking in.

SW 94kg
CW 71.8 kg
TW 70kg

Very happy to have lost a small amount on holiday as I was definitely eating more and less healthily.

TW (less than 2 kilo away) takes me into normal BMI. I might adjust it down to 68kg to bring me comfortably into normal range. Would also like to shift a bit more from stomach but realise that might be difficult post menopause. Feels weird to not think of myself as fat.

saxonyv · 23/08/2025 12:44

I too was in total denial about my weight, when I looked at what my healthy bmi should be I thought I’d look ill at such a low weight!
My GW of 10st 10 is the top range for healthy bmi, I should reach that just about with the doses I have left, but I’m surprised that actually another stone and a half to take me comfortably in the healthy range would still mean I look well and not too slim.

With the doses I have left my aim is to sustain a bit of suppression but start to work on my fitness and muscle tone (currently have none), I am very much still soft and ‘skinny fat’

saxonyv · 23/08/2025 12:47

And just to add, to those who haven’t quite reached goal yet or it’s not quite within sight please don’t be disheartened, we have all made a huge step in the right direction and I do think that the weight already lost is a good motivation to keep it off, let’s be honest none of us have succeeded at diets before and most have given up pretty quickly, we have managed 5 months of calorie deficit!! That is amazing! Think of how great our organs probably look after losing all the fat around them (I read that’s the first place the fat goes from)
