Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

@qs90 hope you don’t mind me starting a new one for us but thread 4 was full and I don’t want to lose my crew!

according to the free version of shotsy it can take up to 2 weeks for the mounjaro to be completely out of your system so you should be ok to miss a week, however I took mine when I went, just jabbed a few days earlier than when I was leaving, and was able to enjoy food and drink but crucially I didn’t gorge I just enjoyed what I ate and then stopped when I’d had enough

Great thank you. Maybe il bring my jab a couple of days earlier this week - might not take full dose either as I’m currently on 10mg and suppression is still pretty high.

vl888 · 17/08/2025 08:49

Just caught up with the other ‘Big Increase’ thread - 175 new messages so just skimmed. Some people are naaaaaasty 😳 thank goodness for our nice wee supportive group.

SquishyGloopyBum · 17/08/2025 09:49

Just catching up. What a week!!

WK18 for me and the scales on Friday (my official weigh in days) said I had gained 1lb but I think it was a blip because of the hot weather - scales (on unofficial weigh in days as I only count it once a week) are showing a loss again.

Ive been reading all the threads about increases. I’ve got 2 pens in the fridge so I’m ok short term. Hoping it will all settle down. I’m just under BMI25 now so not sure what’s best to do too.

the media coverage is interesting. Almost gleeful that the ‘fat jabs’ are going to cost more. I think it’s a slippery slope that Trump is doing this - the American pharmaceutical model is different to here. If he starts doing similar with other medications, there would be uproar. But it’s not seen as bad as it’s just the fat jabs. Sigh.

Uninvitedleaf · 17/08/2025 09:58

We go away in about 3 weeks time and I am thinking of splitting my dose that week. Mostly because I tend to get huge suppression for the few days after jabbing then it drops a bit! Badly planned in terms of holiday as I usually jab on a Sunday and that’s when we go, so I’m worried I won’t be able to eat for the first few days we’re away and we have a complimentary dinner in the hotel on the first night (somewhere we’ve stayed before and it’s lovely) so I don’t want to miss out.

Using Shotsy I think if I take a half dose late Saturday night and then a second half on Thursday that would keep my levels to what they usually are around the middle of the week which I’m fairly sure would work for me. Could you do something like that @vl888?

I swear my scales know it’s weigh in day 😂😂. I was 11stone 12.2 yesterday, I’m 11stone 13.6 this morning. How??? Anyway that’s my official weight for the week, a measly 0.6lb off.

They really do know I think!! At least it’s a loss, not a gain!!

I don’t know why I have Fridays as me ‘official’ weigh day. I consistently weigh lighter on a Saturday - I think my scales know too!

Doidontimmm · 17/08/2025 10:58

Mine too but I cheat & go with the Saturday 😂

Uninvitedleaf · 17/08/2025 11:23

I’m sorely tempted to change my official weigh in day but my head knows that would only make me happy for one week and then I’d be back to the same amounts over 7 days as I am now so wouldn’t really gain much, Plus I’d probably then see increases on the scales at other times over the week (due to recording weight in a dip rather than at a peak). Still annoying though!

@Pepperwaggytail @Mumof2studentnurse i got the med express email about swooping and was seriously thinking about it. I'm down 2st 9 (now 15st 11)so a long way to go. I've been approved for 1 pen and can order another on 28th so I'll do that and then maybe talk to medexpress about it. Also thinking of dropping my dose back to 5 from my 7.5 pen as I've had flu and really not eating (probably a combination of jab and flu).
I don't know where this other thread is but I'm not going there!!! This one is so supportive.

Mumof2studentnurse · 17/08/2025 18:52

@Musermum I'm able to order on the 28th of Aug too - so i will order another Mounjaro and then try and make a decision/find out what I can about the other medication. I wont be going near that other thread either. I was on a group on Facebook too but It is filled with unkindness and just outright bullying. x

Pepperwaggytail · 17/08/2025 21:01

There is so much nastiness out there! So unnecessary, I often read the mums net daily threads but have to come off them because some people are horrid!
Im still waiting to hear from Bolt if I’ve been approved, and can still go to Medexpress so I’ll definitely get another full pen ordered. Then I’ll see what the prices actually end up being- and make a decision then I guess!
I hope everyone dumps the more expensive suppliers! And boycotts the USA! 😂
I heard on YouTube that people are taking out credit cards to fund the higher prices - I’m definitely not doing that!!

Squiffy01 · 18/08/2025 08:05

@Pepperwaggytail it makes me sad that people are so desperate to get it that they will go into credit card debt for it!

I guess when it can change peoples lives so much it’s easy to do.

Medino have already put their prices up. The day the news came out they sold out completely and then by the next morning when I checked they had stock again but prices raised. Wonder if they will go up again on September 1st or stay the same.
I actually just checked on the NHS app and it doesn’t look like the my GP was ever notified by Medino I thought they had to these days.

Uninvitedleaf · 18/08/2025 08:20

I’ve been surprised not to see the prescription appearing on my NHS app as well. I’ve used three different suppliers since starting and have definitely entered my GP details with all of them so I have wondered if the practice might be getting letters but not adding them to my record. I guess it’s not mandatory for them to do anything with information from private providers but I think it should be a requirement.

saxonyv · 18/08/2025 08:46

does anyone know how often you can order from Oushk?
I didn’t realise you could order 3 pens in one go, I ordered one on Friday that is coming tomorrow but was hoping to order one more pen before the price rise

wordywitch · 18/08/2025 12:10

I agree that our group is much nicer than the main thread, so supportive! 🙂

I am currently on 10mg and am finding the suppression in the first 2-3 days almost unbearable, I have to force myself to eat more than 800 calories and I feel so nauseated and low energy that when I do manage to want to eat something, it’s often not very ‘good’ food, it’s whatever I can stomach (crackers, toast, ginger biscuits, etc..). I think I’m going to drop to 7.5mg this week and see how I go.

SeaDippingandLattes · 18/08/2025 14:33

@saxonyv im with oushk but not sure on how often. Normally I just place an order every four weeks to get the next pen but when the news came out that said we could have up to 3 I ordered two more to arrive when back from holidays…no idea if they will honour it or not though as they since changed it to ‘one extra pen’ and it has to be on the same order. I need to try and find a provider where I can just order one extra pen as a back up should the two not be honoured so at least I have one more to try and get near normal BMI before cold turkey….but if they honour the two I should hopefully just get into normal or at least near enough there. If you pen has been dispatched already no harm in trying to get another order in?

SeaDippingandLattes · 18/08/2025 14:35

@Pepperwaggytail sadly some people are just dickheads. I’ve found this group to be really helpful and supportive. Would be nice for it to stay weight loss support/maintenance support regardless of if people move to other medication options/off treatment etc x

Yes, agreed. Would be really useful for seeing what alternatives are effective too. So as we've all started in similar boats, then how effective Wegovy is - maybe we'll need a stronger (or weaker) dose, success in tapering down from MJ if applicable, etc, etc...

Pepperwaggytail · 18/08/2025 17:25

Yup, let’s keep our little group going! We are all on the same journey regardless of how we get there!

PhantomErik · 18/08/2025 17:53

Wk21 D2 & my mid week loss of 4lb (after 3 weeks staying the same) has now reduced to 2lb off but im still happy with that. Had a very busy & exhausting weekend away & for the first time have experienced sulphur burps- yuck! Hoping it settles in a few days.

SW 16.6
CW 14.4

I'm also worried about the price increase/availability of MJ but can't order until next week so will just keep my fingers crossed for now. I'd love to keep this group going as well even if people switch to a different medication.

saxonyv · 18/08/2025 18:13

I’m up for keeping the group going too, don’t want to lose all the lovely support 🥰

Uninvitedleaf · 18/08/2025 18:39

I definitely want to keep in touch with everyone too, regardless of stage on journey and whether people are trying to maintain, swapping to an alternative, staying on MJ or not.

I have 2 stone or so left to lose so hopefully the pens I have will take me a good way towards that (tend to be a bit ahead anyway and I’ve managed to get my regular order today so I should be fine for a couple of months). If I need to I can cope with getting one or two pens at a higher price once it settles. But no idea what I’ll do for maintenance now, my original idea was to continue at a low dose for a while but will need to see how that comes out cost wise. Would be great to have you all to discuss strategies with!

OP posts:
ClimbingKilimounjaro · 18/08/2025 18:54

Feeling pretty bummed with the news of price changes and availability, but will see what I can do before 1st September to get one or two pens to tide me over. I’ve got a little over 2st left to lose (if I can get there) to target but only 1.5st to lose for a healthy BMI.

Downloaded shotsy (good shout guys) and my average weight loss has been 2.4lbs a week since April which surprised me! So if the rate of loss continues I could potentially only need three more pens to target.

Maintenance is the biggest concern to me now, but I’d be more likely to use higher dosage pens and titrate down through doses bit by bit.

Please keep this thread going it’s been ever so useful!

QS90 · 18/08/2025 19:16

Have discovered these and similar exist - have just ordered so will let you know if they're any good!
