Hope I’ve done this right, I’ve never started a thread before.

Do we know what sort of increase we're talking about?

Yes, me too - was coming on to say the same 😬 Glad I have shifted most of my weight. Worst case, might transfer to Wegovy for maintenance.

No one seems to really know how bad the increases will be - I’m only getting my info from the the trending thread discussing it on here so don’t have any more insights than that. It’s called something like “Big price increases” so not immediately obvious that it’s about WLI but might be the best place to see the background and what people think is going to happen. Speculation on there goes from prices doubling to an extra £50-£100 per pen depending on dose. Sounds very much like it has blindsided the pharmacies this morning and they’re still trying to work things out.

if your supplier will allow it and subject to finances you might want to try to order some back up pens before 1 September when it takes effect. I changed supplier last month so I have been a bit naughty today and put an order in to the previous one which they were happy to take as it’s only about 5 weeks since I last ordered from them. Then will get a pen from my ‘new’ supplier as normal in a week or two so I’ll have a bit of a buffer until we see what’s actually happening.

Btw, Bolt has been good, for anyone interested. My 12.5mg was £150 rather than the £200 it would have been with MedExpress. The monthly cost is lower too, even after the £50 off first order. I think it's £175, which I think is pretty good for that strength. No issue with getting approved or delivery times. Only ordered on Tuesday and arrived this afternoon.

Just checked and Wegovy is made by a Danish pharmaceutical company, so won't be subject to the same mad whims of Trump.

The prices from Eli Lily are rising by 170%, though some suppliers may choose to take less of a profit and give at least some savings to customers. Unlikely it will be much though, they’re businesses after all. It could be well over £300 for a pen if they don’t.

Bit freaked out by this, won't lie. I'm trying to get my next 7.5 pen at Med express but it's so slow and hanging... Obviously everyone is trying! Med express sent an email out.

My (limited!) understanding is that it’s the “list price” which is changing - it’s not guaranteed that this will be what suppliers will be charged by Eli Lilly, it’s the starting point for negotiation. Individual companies may be able to get discounts on this depending on volume etc. So we really don’t know how much retail prices will go up by, hopefully nowhere near 170%.

I ordered my pen from Medexpress this afternoon….now can’t get on the site to check if it’s approved

I have been all over the other thread this afternoon - and jumped on my supplier immediately to order 3 pens. They approved 2 of the 3 (I had only received one last week - so I was being v cheeky) within a couple of hours - so I was impressed as thought they might be snowed. But maybe I will try again in another 2 weeks (think thats the min time between) which will get me in before the 1st Sept price rise. My prediction is the smaller suppliers (who likely have less buying power so are paying higher wholesale prices) will struggle to absorb this rise. I'm with Zava (wholesaler to Asda) - so one of the big boys - if anyone wants my 25% discount code please DM me. Also please send me your codes as will likely have to order from multiple pharmacies over the next few weeks. Sad day. I am strategising now about microdosing and stockpiling.

Oushk saying they will allow an order of three pens before the 1st sep (or something like that). If I’m 13:6 now and want to be 11:10 - how many more pens do you think I need? I was averaging probs about ten pounds a pen until the last three weeks where I’ve only lost 1.5 pounds. I have one pen on order atm. Wondering if I should order another two to three pens so I can get to my goal weight but not sure what’s realistic x

I decided to try and do another two separate orders. Another for 7.5 and one for 10. If they get approved then I will have x2 7.5 and x1 10. In my head I can then get 5 or 6 doses out of next pen. Then 4/5 out of the second one. Then 5 or 6 out of the last one. Which gives me 14/17 weeks to lose the rest of the weight x

I’m also trying to order more, just got to upload photos in the morning and hopefully get approved.

I’ve tried to order another one. I assume it won’t be approved as I’ve just had one arrive today but thought it was worth a try.
Medino have three doses out of stock already. 1 with 1 left one with 4 left. Only the 2.5 not low currently.

will be very interested to see what the new prices are. It is so much cheaper here than in Australia.

I feel awful for the people who have only just started, I’m closer to goal weight than not so even if I can’t afford it, the determination to finish is there because I can see the changes its made to my body

@saxonyv i started it in Australia at Easter time and I paid $410 for a 5mg pen. So that would be about £197ish. When I got back I got a 5mg pen for I think £120? and could get it cheaper from other places.

15mg pen is $700 so £336 here it is £189.99 from Medino who I am with not sure if it is cheaper elsewhere.

My last order that just arrived was a 10mg pen for £159 still cheaper than the 5mg I got in Australia.

Although I’ve dropped 3 lb from last Friday it’s actually only 1lb below my pre holiday weight but that’s ok. At least the scales seem to be moving again.

I went a bit crazy after yesterday’s news and have ordered some extra pens. I have 2 x 5mg in the fridge and 1 x 5 mg arriving today (ordered last week). I took advantage of Oushk’s offer to buy more than one and ordered a 5mg and a 7.5mg from them. I also went back to my old supplier and ordered 5mg from them - I’ve just done the very rigorous photos but not ordered from them for a while so wondering if they’ll ask to see my prescriptions from Oushk too. If I actually get all these pens this gives me six months of supply if I stay on 5mg. But hopefully I will hit goal in the next couple of months and start moving back down to maintain so my stock will last me longer as long as I’m prepared to use the pens a bit longer than is recommended. I guess a lot of people will be doing this with the price hike. I had wanted to stay on them for a year post goal but I’m not sure if I can justify the cost… I guess I’ll need to see what the actual prices are once the dust settles..

I’ve also ordered 4 incognito, 1 from current supplier and 3 from others although I don’t know if those will be approved. I’m 2st down with 12lbs to goal so I’m just going to suck up the increase from savings if I have to.

Just had a confirmation from oushk that my order for the other two pens have been accepted! In case anyone needs a provider that is allowing to buy more than one. According to ch at GPT I should be able to get to my goal weight in 17 weeks allowing for a slower weight loss and I think I should be able to eek it out to that. 1 stone 10 pounds left to go..would others try and get a fourth pen or leave it at three? I won’t be able to afford the increase x

It's awful re the price increases, the politics, the stockpiling, the fat haters (on the Big Price Increases thread). Such an emotive issue.

I'm one of life's natural stockpilers (you should've seen my pantry pre MJ!). I was late with my next order anyway, saw everyone was going mad last night, saw that Oushk had given the green light to order 3 pens (!!) but ordered one extra, so a small stockpile and a bit of balance. Can't blame people if they have the means but sincerely hope the stock issues don't impact those who don't.

Thing is, now the cost is going to be so prohibitive I'll be doing what a lot of folk will, stretching out the pen to maximise the value. I've ordered 5mg pens and am taking 3mg so can get 8 doses from each pen. Will just have to be super vigilant re hygiene and storage.

It's risk vs benefit. The idea of stopping now is unfathomable. I'm almost in the 13's (14st this am), a weight I haven't seen since the late 90's. 5'2" though so a way to go still and determined to see it through. Thank goodness we began March/April and now have a head start.
