I’m on 5, ordered another as the suppression was so high I couldn’t eat anything but it’s worn off a bit now, should have ordered 7.5!

@saxonyv if you can afford to, maybe use the last 5mg pen a little differently..do a 3.75 dose every five days ..it might keep your levels higher to see you through until the 7.5

I’ve stuck with 5mg as well, I dithered over going up to 7.5mg as I felt my losses had stalled but I’m very glad I didn’t. Suppression this week has really kicked in again and been some of the highest I’ve had with no real desire for snacks (which had been creeping back as well). We’re going out with friends tonight for curry and I’m working out a strategy with DH to order a main and some sides between us so that if I don’t eat much it’s not too obvious how little I’m having. I jab on Sunday so normally by Friday night/Saturday I can eat a bit more if I want to but not this week!

Not sure if it would have happened anyway but I have also been following @SausageRoll90‘s excellent reminders to make sure I eat regularly even if not hungry, get enough protein, and try to be a bit more active so that’s probably kick started my metabolism a bit as well! Definitely hasn”t done any harm 😊.

I’ve stuck on 2.5mg but am currently using a 5mg pen just in case I needed to increase. I think I must be a bit of a super responder too, although pre MJ I ate pretty low carb and did intermittent fasting too and don’t have a sweet tooth.

my tolerance for alcohol has increased since the start when I didn’t really fancy it but that’s about it.

currently I’m on an AI holiday and have been pretty good but we shall see what story the scales tell when I get home 😬

I bought some 14s for holiday, tried them on today and they’re hanging off me 😫I reckon I’ve shrunk to a small 12. Gonna look like a hobo.

Ok possibly a silly question but I genuinely don’t know the answer.

how do you build muscle? Is it just through gradual weight training?

Im at the point where I need to do something, I’m skinny fat as we affectionately say, I have been doing something cardio but I’ve lost enough weight to see that my muscles are very small and piddly, my arms in particular are tiny!
everything I’ve read about WLI talks about keeping up protein to not lose muscle but nothing about building it!

@saxonyv I think if a person isn't up to using weights, or doesn't want to for whatever reason, yoga / pilates type things are good too.

Or there are wrist weights / weighted vests you can wear just in everyday life.

Or "excersize snacking" where you do 5 push-ups or sqats or whatever, every few hours. Apparently it's as effective as doing say 40 movements all at once, if you spread them out over the day.

I'm a bit dubious about doing any sort of weight training actually. Now I'm less fat, I can feel my abdominal muscles and it turns out I have a three finger diastasis recti split near my bellybutton 😬I have been doing excersizes to fix it, but am a bit worried that if I start more traditional weights it'll unzip me further.

I seem to remember there are diastasis recti safe exercises that can be done, I’ve seen something on TikTok, I think a lot of it was focusing on getting the breathing right and learning to engage the core properly when doing any exercise.
I still have a lovely (although a lot smaller) pouch on my tummy so not sure if I have a split!

I was put off thinking about it for a couple of years, because I didn't really understand it, but I think it has been worth researching. If you basically tense and poke around your stomach, you'll be able to feel a chasm between your abs, if you have it. Doing the excersizes has already made a difference to my shape although the gap is still massive. I found "finding my core" to be a tricky concept at first, but it was worth doing.

If you start doing a load of sit-ups or squats or whatever before it's fixed, it can splay it wider, apparently 😬

Humph - no weight loss for almost third week running. Stayed the same 😳 I’m probably at the stage where I need to calorie track (which I didn’t want to do). Anyone recommend a good free app?

Im genuinely a bit confused as I don’t feel like my eating has changed at all from the general weeks where I have lost about 2 pounds each week. Largely miss breakfast. Have a soya milk flat white late morning. Eat something like tofu, peas and a bit of rice or pea protein fake meat with veg/salad - that sort of thing for lunch. Dinner varies depending what we have in and the kids but largely it’s ok. If we do get a dominoes or something as a treat/ because we have been run ragged I am only have two pieces and a dip - so not loads like I would have had before. Mostly not snacking 🫣 as suppression genuinely ok until Sunday which I haven’t minded as that’s one day before the injection and it’s been nice to have sourdough toast for breakfast and some Sunday dinner bits.

Anyone have any tips? I clearly need to track calories (although I think I’ve had about 1200-1800 per day depending on if I have had something like dominoes etc). I do need to start strength training and up my water. Is it worth going up to 7.5 as next pen due now. Suppression is good but weight loss clearly not? Have a holiday in ten days time and wanted to be under 13 stone by then but I’m not going to be able to shift the seven pounds by then…be glad to get a couple off though.

I use Carb Manager @SeaDippingandLattes because it focuses on macros and I can make sure I'm getting enough protein to maintain metabolism.

@QS90 thank you, will look at that. I struggled to eat for a couple of weeks, due to a really stressful situation and I hope I’ve not fucked my metabolism over. The weight was coming off nicely before.

I’ve just gone through this as well @SeaDippingandLattes, three weeks or so of no loss on 5mg. I was ready to go up to 7.5mg but my suppression was still really good (like yours, just tailing off a bit before my next jab which I quite liked) so I decided it wasn’t the drug being less effective. On that basis I thought I should stick and try to change some other variables.

So I’ve spent this week eating three times a day religiously, even if I don’t want to, and thinking about protein more than I was. I do count calories using the free version of MyFitnessPal but I’ve only just realised that will sync to Apple Health so I can record food in MFP and the health app will show me all the macros which I haven’t had previously. I’m eating a lot of eggs 😂.

Not sure if it’s made a difference or if things would have changed anyway but I’m definitely down a pound or two this week (official weigh in tomorrow) so staying on the 5mg was right for me.

Hope yours is just a temporary blip!

Back from 10 days away (AI), no injection whilst away and have put on 2lbs. Did ok with food but a fair amount to drink so pretty happy with that. Now just need to be super strict with food choices, intermittent fasting and lots of water plus up the exercise.

DC are going away with their dad soon and I’m determined to get to the pool!

Actually just 1lb so v happy. Have realised though that I’ve bobbed around the same weight for 4 weeks now 🥴. Would like another 1/2 stone off so am going to order one more 5mg pen and continue at 2.5mg and add a bit of focus and hopefully can get the final results!

Hi, I reached a plateau and realised I had not lowered my calories to my new weight so I was eating for my previous weight and not new, so I adjusted and upped protein and started losing again.

I wanted to stay on 5mg but have no suppression at all anymore and a craving for chocolate so I did 70 clicks on Friday (5.8) and will order a 7.5 next and try 6.25. It’s all trial & error.

Holy moly - the scales must have been listening to my Mumsnet whingebagging and they have gone down 1.5 pounds overnight 😳 😂 bloody well hope it stays like that till weigh in day on monday!
