I’m a daily weigher. 2.6lbs off in 2 days. What on earth?? Not even 2 days, one full day and one half day.
No side effects really yet, a bit of sleepiness but that’s been it. I didn’t think the suppression was working because I was a bit peckish but I realised at 4pm yesterday I’d only had a protein drink in the morning all day so I’m going to have to be really careful about just forgetting about food I think. I had the same issue when I ate low carb, although it didn’t kick in until the second or 3rd week so having it this early on must be a result of the jab.
Ive done the meal plan for the family this week, no easy task when im feeding a type 2 diabetic DH, a 4 year old and trying to wean a 6 month old, as well as balance my own eating. We all eat together every day and all eat the same thing (this is a non negotiable here) so it’s a bloody balancing act to make sure there’s food that meets everyone’s needs. This is what we’re having in the evenings this week:
Monday: meatballs - everyone else had pasta, I had just the sauce on top of buttered sliced spring greens.
tues: stir fry: everyone else has noodles and I just had the prawns and veggies
weds: beef pie: I’ll do mashed potato and swede top for everyone else, I’ll have the pie filling and lots of green veg with it.
thurs: chicken dinner: self explanatory, I’ll have veggies and lots of chicken, I’ll still have gravy and chicken skin.
fri: chicken curry: I’ll have the sauce in a bowl as will the 6 month old, everyone else will have rice and a naan.
sat: pizza night - always, we home make them with the 4 year old and it’s his favourite activity at the weekend. I’ll have mine on a chicken breast base.
sun: wildcard - leftovers from the week so easy.
For lunches I’ve been eating meatballs (I made loads extra on Monday) chopped up and fried off with kale and cabbage with onions and any veggies I find in the fridge. If I don’t have meatballs usually it’s an egg or bacon that goes in. Sounds weird and it is, but it’s really tasty and a staple for me on low carb diets because it’s quick and I don’t have to think about it. It’s a good one if you’re not feeling hungry but know you need something. It’s basically a hot salad. Everyone else has their own thing.
Breakfast is always clear whey protein when I’m on low carb or some other form of convenience protein so I’m picking that back up. Sometimes left overs if something needs eating. Everyone else has weetabix in various consistencies of porridge until you get to DH who eats it with cold milk. Absolutely feral.
It’s possible, but chaotic. I’m trying to keep costs down (maternity leave and im the main earner) but it’s like trying to plat fog some days
