Why oh why do I get back on the scales! How can I be a kilogram heavier tonight than this morning??

I’m always heavier in the evening, so I refuse to weigh then. I always way first thing in the morning and if I weigh in the evening it messes with my head

RJmama · 07/07/2025 07:54

W4D1. Just weighed and I have lost zilch. Zero. Nada.

So disappointed.

I’m exactly the same as last week. As in, exactly the same: last week I was 13st 7.4lb. And this week, I’m 13st 7.4lb!

Same. But I always weigh more the morning after a jab, so will weigh again tomorrow. I’m constipated so I’m sure that’s making a difference. And I’m over a stone lighter than when I started. Trying to see the bigger picture

HereWeGoooovy · 07/07/2025 08:58

W2 D4 and felt a bit nauseous, for the first time, upon waking but nothing too severe.

Full from one Skyr for breakfast and also feel slightly on edge / adrenaliney… anyone else get that? I’m not a coffee drinker but imagine these kids of jitters is how you’d feel after too much coffee….

Scrumdiddlyumptiousness · 07/07/2025 10:16

@HereWeGoooovy I imagine that's a blood sugar thing? I'm getting less of those highs and/or lows as my diet changes from quick hits to slow release and my body gets used to it.

Scrumdiddlyumptiousness · 07/07/2025 10:19

W6D3. Haven't lost anything at all in a week, however also haven't spent 48 hours locked in the toilet. Absolutely no SE on second jag of 5mg, definitely more appetite suppression.

The only jab to have given me SE was the only one that left a bruise - is that a thing?

Oh I hadn’t thought of that being due to blood sugar…. I was exhausted yesterday and a tad jumpy today…. Though tbh if that’s the worst of the side effects I’ll take it!

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 07/07/2025 10:47

W5D4 and a few people are noticing which is motivating. I’m a terrible liar though so finding it v hard to not blurt out that I’m on the jabs!

I also had a week (last week) when I lost nothing. It was almost like my body was just playing catch up and thinking ‘right she’s playing serious I’ll go along with her too’. Took my 6th jab on Friday and am already nearly 2lbs down from then.

lw88x · 07/07/2025 11:19

Hi all

Does anyone have any codes for Farmeci please 🙏

Gingercar · 07/07/2025 11:27

I think it’s quite common to get a week (sometimes more than one week) where you don’t lose after a month, despite “being good”. Like @maddiemookins16mum says, it’s your metabolism adjusting to your new eating regime and working out how to burn energy. It’s a good thing, and also dangerous because it can spiral us into negativity if we let it. It’s a good NSV to deal with a plateau without going off the rails. For those of us with a longer journey, we’ll probably hit a few of these along the way.

I’m the same, huge oversharer so have told everyone. Was hoping not too. My son knows now too and seems ok with it. Just don’t want ex to find out, that’ll start the accusations of me using my child maintenance to pay for it I’m sure!

SunandMoor · 07/07/2025 11:40

Hi introducing myself I am taking my week 5 dose today which is still 2.5mg plan to go up to 5mg soon. Have been away and not weighed myself now for 2 weeks! SW 15st 2 have lost 7.5lb before I went away. Hope I have not put it all back on! Have no SE. Definitely noticed I drink less wine than before and have eaten less. Using My Fitness pal to roughly track calories.

Mynewusersame · 07/07/2025 12:00

Just adding I’ve also been 200-201 pounds for over 7 days now! My body does not want to go below 200 pounds 😂
BUT I have lost a stone. It’s going to slow down. I know I’m still doing everything right eating in a deficit etc. Mounjaro giving me the staying power and knowing the scale will go down eventually! So just solidarity from me. We’ve got this!

FoxRedPuppy · 07/07/2025 13:23

I know I keep saying this, but a week of staying the same is to be expected every so often. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Similarly it’s not realistic to be “good” all the time. A normal balanced diet includes all foods. No food is good or bad, as long in right amounts. A cheeseburger once every few weeks or months is fine.

99% of all diets fail (there is actual data on this) and a lot of the reason is because you can’t be “good” all the time and then once tou break, it often leads to binging. Slow and steady wins the race.

PuppyHerder · 07/07/2025 13:45

Afternoon everyone.
Just read 10+pages of posts as been busy IRL.
Can I just say how well everyone is doing? Not just in weight lost, but also in attitude. Love this group.

I braved taking the 'golden dose' this morning with leftovers from my first pen. I had a little over 2.5mg left so did a slightly larger dose in preparation for increasing to 3.75mg from next week.

Weight loss now feels slower, but steady.
SW 101kg (down from an original 106)
CW 95kg
GW - initially 85, but need to get down to 74-76 to be in healthy BMI)

If you told me 4 weeks ago when I took the first jab I'd be 6kg down I would have bitten you arm off (quite literally, I ate anything and everything put in front of me)

Now I'm feeling much more in control and making healthier choices. The big thing for me is being able to avoid snacking in the evening/late at night.

I am struggling with drinking enough. I've always been bad at this and have danced on the edge of being dehydrated my whole life. My body just doesn't seem to regularly give me the 'drink something' signals. I've wondered if this has contributed to my weight issues - much more likely to pick up a cake than a glass of water.
I don't want to cause myself other health issues by not drinking sufficiently. I'm nowhere near 2L - is this really the minimum I need to have?

I am exactly the same I barely drink half a litre most days and I suspect my joint pain over the years has been made worse by dehydration (not to mention my desert dry skin!).

On MJ I am still struggling with drinking water, I end up in the loo every 10 mins but bought a huge Stanley cup flask to incorporate me to drink. Slow steps but counting all my drinks towards the elusive 2 litre mark.

I’ve bought a new straw drinking cup, keeps my cold water cold and holds over 800ml. I’ve also got electrolytes to put in the water. It’s really helping so far. I’m the same and definitely didn’t drink enough but having a straw cup with me really does make me drink more.

So great to hear how everyone is doing. Just goes to show we are all different.

I also considered giving up around week 3, whoever asked, but I've persevered and I'm now on 5mg. And I'm glad I did, although I'm not sure that I'll be carrying on into the third month. I'm 10.5 lbs down and have just done my (I think) 6th jab. I've ordered syringes as linked above to get the golden dose out. Does anyone know if you can do 2 mini golden doses, so I could get the equivalent of 2.5mg out twice?

I feel more in balance. It was my birthday this weekend so I went out 3 times to eat, plus a bbq. I made really sensible choices, had a slice of birthday cake, a few nibbles here and there, and shared a bottle of bubbly on Friday night with a friend and had 3 G&Ts with another on Saturday night. I've also got my steps in, played tennis with DD, and gone kayaking, both of which I did without worrying about my weight, which was blissful.

Yes no reason why not, just remember the guidance is to use the pen within 30 days from the first dose. I will be going over this and keeping the pen in the fridge in between but just depends on your view on it

PuppyHerder · 07/07/2025 14:29

Thanks both for the tips - off to find a drinking bottle with a straw and see if this helps. Like the idea of the ones with the day marked out to give me something to aim for!

Gettingfitorbust · 07/07/2025 15:21

Crinklecat Can you tell me the rationale for adding electrolytes please?
I’m noticing I am getting quite tired and wondered if this would help with that.

Meowmy · 07/07/2025 15:24

Does anyone know how long the pen can be out of the fridge for? I'm off to the States in September and obs it won't be refrigerated for at least 12 hours. Not sure how to travel with it.

I did two golden doses and went (5 days I think) over the 30 days. I had no issues. The pen had always been kept in the fridge.

It's fine to keep it out of the fridge all the time as long as it's used within 30 days, according to the manufacturer. It's obviously sensible for anyone planning to extend the use beyond this to keep it in the fridge all the time (and in such a case I would buy a special cold pack for your trip).
