i have used it, the side effects made me my life miserable
im now fasting and my quality of life and mood is so much better without the drugs. the jab is a quick and expensive fix. you will gain it back

So if the side effects didn’t make your life miserable you would still be on it. What doesn’t work for you may work wonders for other people.
You are just as likely to regain the weight once you stop fasting, unless you plan to fast for ever.

Thornrose · 25/06/2025 18:09

I'm doing my third jab on Saturday then will decide whether to stay on 2.5 or move up to 5.

I have no real appetite, just eating because I have too.

Still no desire to drink wine 😁

maddiemookins16mum · 25/06/2025 18:15

Hi all, I’m on week 4, it will be 28 days on Friday since I had my first jab. Start weight 13 stone 12, last night I was 13 stone 1. I’m thrilled.
I do get hungry at times but push through. Our diet has majorly improved and I’ve really cut back on UPF too. I did an online shop today and whereas I’d be normally adding a weekly Lurpak style spread, I’m only a third through the one I bought 3 weeks ago. Eating lots of protein, fruit, veg and salad. Best of all, no side effects at all. Oh and I did my second order last night, staying on 2.5 for the second month. We’ve just had a lovely chicken, spinach and cauliflower curry for tea with a smidge of rice. My intake is between 1200-1400 calories a day.

Boxingshibes · 25/06/2025 18:18

I'm W1D5. I'm struggling to eat i don't feel hungry at all. I'm going to buy some protein powder and try to have some shakes.
No SE yet but will see if I get any after my 2nd jab.

Walking into a support group and telling everyone they're wasting their time is an energy, I guess.

onceuponatimeinneverland · 25/06/2025 18:28

On thread 2 I commented that I was attending a tier 3 weight loss programme (NHS) today.

So:-
*There were approx 25 attendees around 10 were on a private WLI.
*Consultant (endocrinologist /bariatric surgeon) said this was becoming more and more common
*They would not / could not offer WLI as they had no funding for this at present ( but had for bariatric?!). And until the purchasing group prioritised this they could no offer it. He did see WLI as part of the holistic weight loss solution.
*BMI needed to be >40 (or 35 for certain ethnicities etc). Because it's basically a 12 month wait for accessing the program it would be up to the clinicians if they take on someone who has a BMI of less than 35 (but more than 30). - they acknowledged this was likely if taking WLI. Previous to WLI it was rare to see people with a significantly lower BMI. On referral they require >40 BMI.
*They see those taking WLI as needing the multidisciplinary support of the WL prog to change habits/ make better choices etc so have no problem if people are taking WLI.
There's a 4 HR ISH initial consultation, and then 2 in person sessions of around 4 hrs per week for 12 weeks.
*There is an online option but take up for that is low/non existent.

*But those at the seminar now won't get their first session until October.
*Follow up in person at 9 months.
*Resources available for 12 months minimum.

Hope that helps someone.

Think this means you need to eat something.

Quay · 25/06/2025 18:38

Hi all, I’ve been following your journeys and have finally taken the plunge!
I’m W1D4 (jabbed last Friday). SEs have been minimal apart from the constipation which was solved by taking 2 senna tablets last night. I’m not that hungry tbh but am ensuring I eat something protein based rather than carbs. I’m also taking collagen powder, Biotin and B12 as extras.

SW 12st 1lb / 169 lbs / 76.6 kgs
GW 10st / 140 lbs / 63.5 kgs

I’m 5’ 2” in height and am desperate to improve my health and mobility. I will update on Friday with any weight loss 🤞

MissMogs · 25/06/2025 18:51

joining the new thread! I’m on W2D2. No SE so far but also minimal suppression. Drinking lots of water and using willpower to avoid snacks but I don’t think the mounj is working for me yet as I would happily still have them! Haven’t changed meals but trying to avoid “sides” (garlic bread, spring rolls etc). No idea how to calorie count so couldn’t say how many per day. Probably too many!

Puffalicious · 25/06/2025 18:52

Thanks for the new thread 👋.

W2D2
Had no SE apart from mild constipation last week, but today I'm quite heart-burny & a little light-headed. Ate as normal. Will just need to keep an eye.

Can someone please link to the needles for the golden dose, please? Thanks.

And keep going everyone. Ignore the hater who's jumped on.

Librariesrule · 25/06/2025 19:10

First jab yesterday. Definately not feeling hungry and making sensible choices for meals. Didn't even want a biscuit with my morning cuppa.

nailslikeknives · 25/06/2025 19:22

Thanks for the new thread, placemarking for later

Seriestwo · 25/06/2025 19:35

I spoke to voy about reducing my dose to 1.25 and doing it twice a week because my appetite suppression on week 2 is total. It feels like I am digesting what I ate on Friday after the jab! They said they don’t recommend halving it, but to delay repeating it for up to 3 days. I’m going to ignore that, they can only advise on label and this amount of intake is not enough - I’ve just eaten cake so I can get some calories, which seems counterproductive. Even with cake my kcal today is about 1000. It’s not enough

FancyKoala · 25/06/2025 19:48

Hi everyone! Another newbie here - getting my first jab tomorrow.

I'm late 30s and have been either dieting or binging every single day for the past 24 years.

Life is awful at the moment (two very ill parents, one at end of life), and I'm stress eating non-stop to cope with it. Even eating foods I'm allergic to. I'm scared of the jab side effects but I'm worried I'll end up in anaphylaxis at this rate otherwise.

Got approx six stone to lose but I don't even care that much about losing weight quickly. I'm just hoping that I'll get a quieter brain, then use that spare energy to retrain myself into healthier coping mechanisms and eating habits.

Midlifecrisis765 · 25/06/2025 19:52

Week 2 for me, I feel a bit sicky but nothing I can’t handle. I’ve mentioned before about by horrible pregnancy journey so this is a breeze compared to that.

I am soooooo close to being below 100kg I was 100.3 this morning.

CaptivePeanut · 25/06/2025 20:20

Is back pain a thing? On W1D2 all of a sudden my back started hurting and I was in a lot of pain and struggling to stand up straight. For the duration of the week my back hurt in one place or another preventing me from being able to go for a walk and I felt like the aching part moved up my back as the week went on. I have taken my second jab tonight and have everything cross that it was a coincidence but wondered if others had experienced simular as I only really get a bad back when I have covid or actually pulled it in a bad way? Thanks

Oldlady62 · 25/06/2025 20:28

Anyone get the shakes ? I'm not diabetic but get symptoms of low blood sugar quite often

RatherTardy · 25/06/2025 20:28

Thank you for the new thread.

Checking in.
W3D1 for me. Injected earlier.
I've lost 6lb.
Minimal SE.

@ChiaraMontague I've made my own spreadsheet. It works really well for me

Anger is an energy.

I'm the same even after eating . I have something small and sweet to stave it off

SomethingAboutYou · 25/06/2025 20:41

Wow we move fast here! Welcome to the new members 👋

W4D5 here. Anyone else on a contraceptive pill and having spotting? It's been over a week now and it's annoying, but not as bad as a full blown period so I'll continue taking it as peri-menopause periods were a nightmare before I started taking the POP pill.

There was a bit in the news last week that Mounjaro can reduce the effectiveness of the pill, so that could be why

Yeah it takes me a little bit to come back to normal after the shakes and just feeling generally woozy! I thought it was just a me thing tbh does it happen to you in the evening?

Yes, W1D2 for me, my back is aching! Lower back pain. Was so uncomfortable in work today.
