Hello all, just caught up with the thread and enjoyed reading about everyone's experience. I am on W5 and have taken a 2.5 dose from a 5mg pen. The weight loss is going fairly well (6kg down) but on some days I am having to work at not snacking or overeating.

@Crinklecat can I ask how you got such a precise measurement of your visceral fat? My waist measurement is very high and all my weight is on my stomach and back. It doesn't seem to have gone down much at all yet. I would quite like to track it properly as it feels like a healthy risk (I have high blood pressure, my mother has vascular dementia etc). Thanks very much

I’ve got no idea if it’s accurate or not but it’s a measurement on my Renpho scales

Ah, thanks. I have a similar scale (Withings) but I'm not sure how accurate it is - it says my water content is well under the desired level however much I drink, and the fat % seems firmly stuck at 40...

My water % is also low but I think that’s due to my high level of fat, so measurement wise I’m probably ok but my high weight brings the % down?

W4D1 here. Down another kilo so that’s 5 kilos since I started - not bad going.

definitely wanting to snack and graze more this week. But I’ve found a really nice protein chocolate mousse. One portion is the whole pot but I can’t eat all of it. But 50g in a ramekin is a really nice finish to my meals for not a lot of calories but an extra 5g protein.

also found some nice high protein bagel thins in Aldi. Really tasty and one is just enough to feel like a full sandwich even when it isn’t.

think I will go up to 5 next week but not 100% certain.

Xmasfairy86 · 05/07/2025 22:09

Just done my 6th 2.5 jab. This one will definitely bruise as I was veeerrrryy heavy handed 🤦🏽‍♀️😂

have snacked my way through today. Period imminent and travelling for work tomorrow - Thursday. I’m not too fussed about the eating whilst away, just hope I don’t get any unwanted SE! Haven’t so far so should be fine…

Took full body measurements today as a guide as didn’t do them at the start of this. Hoping for some all over reductions!

SomethingAboutYou · 05/07/2025 22:12

I've had a random scale victory today.... I'm now lighter than my husband!! He weighed today for the first time in a while and I'm 2kg lighter 🎉

I've been feeling awful knowing I weigh the same as him, he has a bmi of 29 and mine was originally 43 so I've been the big one since I piled on the pounds after having children, looking forward to being a bit more in proportion and maybe even letting him pick me up once in a while!

Scrumdiddlyumptiousness · 05/07/2025 22:33

I did second jab of 5mg despite SE - mainly because I did too many clicks and thought ah fuck it. Living dangerously here 😁

Thanks

I like the Aldi protein bagel thins! They’re good for lunch on a wfh day with chicken sausage, bacon and a poached egg!

W6D1 and I'm 13lbs down. I am going to start 3.75mg today and see how I get on. The constipation has eased although I still have a tear that opens when I poo as a result so I need to get some cream. Sorry TMI.

That sounds good! I’ve been doing pastrami with gherkins and quark.

Morning everyone, W5D1 for me and I've lost a stone! 🥳 I did not expect this to happen in just 4 weeks, I have never lost weight this quickly when dieting before. It has levelled out to around 2lbs a week after a bit extra at the start which I am hoping I can continue.

SomethingFun · 06/07/2025 08:20

W4D4 for me. I’ve lost 8 pounds so far which is amazing! I wasn’t feeling it but I think I might stay at 2.5 for another month. I am sticking to a substantial calorie deficit so it is working, even if I don’t feel full all the time.

Been quiet as was having a crisis of confidence in the jab. Scales didn't change got 10 days.

Suddenly they now have!

W2D3 here. Yesterday I had a small breakfast, some edamame’s while shopping in town and got home mid-afternoon with a massive headache, obviously from being hot and under-fueled.

We then had friends over for a bbq and I felt mindful of what I ate but did not feel fuller quicker than normal.

it’s caught me off guard as last week I could eat maybe half a normal portion only so has totally made me wonder whether last week was a placebo effect!

That being said, I didn’t reach for the chocolates or crisps to “tide me over” as I would’ve done before.

So this morning I’ve got a different kind of food noise - feeling guilty from last night and hoping I didn’t undo the loss from last week! I had some prosecco (half a bottle?) and focused on veg and protein first but still ‘ate the plate’ and polished off dessert without any probs…..

ps. I also have the Withings scales. They send just the weight result to an app from my provider but i don’t know how to access the full result of the water/fat etc.

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 06/07/2025 09:47

W5D3. First person I hadn’t told noticed I was looking slimmer yesterday (1 stone and a tiny bit lighter)
milestone

shifting12345 · 06/07/2025 10:11

W4 d7 today and I’m officially down a stone 🥳

Have had terrible nausea for the last 24hrs though and now nervous about moving up to 5mg tomorrow.

week 5 I did 3.75mg jab 4 days ago. Bit of nausea and a headache last couple of days but not too bad. Glad I went for this dose and didn’t jump straight to 5mg.

Whatanidiot123 · 06/07/2025 10:39

I have found that I only have side effects if i eat fatty food or have a drink (I’ve only had two small drinks in 3 weeks) It really helps to keep on a diet straight and narrow - no drinking, no take away, just lets of veggies, fruit, yoghurt, cottage cheese, eggs and nuts plus a small evening meal.

The scales flickered this morning and for a split second hit a stone number that I haven’t seen since June 2020 when I found out I was pregnant. Only half a lb to go until what feels like a real milestone.

I have made my decision to stay on 2.5mg. I think that will be enough for me for the next month and allow me to enjoy holidays and birthdays. Also my mission for the summer will be to build muscle!

DD517 · 06/07/2025 10:55

Took 5mg yesterday lunch time, by dinner time was hungry and should have stopped half way but didn't. Wanted to get my calorie intake up and then instantly regretted it. Felt so uncomfortable and full!

This morning a bit of diarrhea, and absolutely no appetite so far... feel a bit queasy but nothing uncontrollable. Will see how this goes!

UglyBastardFace · 06/07/2025 11:00

W5 D2. Started on 5mg two days ago and felt as though I'd been hit by the nauseous train. Barely ate 1000 calories yesterday and could have eaten a lot less. I've been sipping water all day

5mg was the one I was very nervous about because it was a doubling of dose, now am thinking may reduce to 3.75mg if this continues.

I've fallen down a rabbit hole about waist measurements and waist-hip ratio this morning. Initially I measured my belly at the widest point with it fully extended (I typically hold it in pretty much all the time, which shaves several centimeters off - it takes quite an effort to fully relax it). I have lost a stone since June 4th, which takes me just into the normal BMI range (I was at 28 at the start, with high blood pressure), but my stomach hasn't changed at all and is still in the 'obese' category according to waist-hip ratio (88). From all that I've read it's just a matter of continuing with weight loss and exercise but it is quite frustrating, particularly due to the health risks associated with this type of visceral fat. Just wondered if anyone else is the same, and carries all their weight on the abdomen (and back 😟). And is it normal to have to hold your stomach in all the time?!

NevilleBigBottom · 06/07/2025 12:20

I have a garden party to go to next Saturday which I when I go up to 5mg. I normally inject mid-afternoon, do you think it'd be ok to delay it until bedtime?

HereWeGoooovy · 06/07/2025 12:27

Ok so deffo not a placebo. After eating my big bbq last night I am struggling to finish meals today.

Very demure full, very mindful lethargic.
