Last jab on 2.5mg this morning, so beginning of week 4.

week 1 -5.1lb (wow! Though understand big losses in first week)
week 2 -0.7lb (bit disappointed)
week 3 -2.6lb (delighted)

So far this is a tool, not a miracle jab, I have worked really hard on nutrition and healthy eating and have fought the hunger I’ve had. Eating big meals as ever but usually only one snack a day now. Previously pretty healthy eating in anyone’s book but CONSTANTLY hungry and delayed satiety so overeat.

interestingly, and as results show, suppression in week 3 better than week 2, so am believing the info about things generally increasing in my system,

Netvous about increasing to 5mg next Friday even though no SEs to date (I never count my chickens!!),

Since losing 8.5 stone under my own steam (and SW attendance) I’ve put on 3 stone at approx 2 to 2.5lb a month, so this last 3 weeks I’ve reversed myself to March.

A long way to go still. But feeling motivated for the first time in a couple of years,

Crinklecat · 05/07/2025 07:50

4th jab tomorrow and I’m feeling a bit bleugh. One of the main goals I was hoping was to drink less, which I have achieved. I’ve had a couple of nights out where I still drank but drank less and felt quite tired but not ill. But last night I had 2 Prosecco’s and felt unwell so had to come home and go to bed. I suppose I can’t have my cake and eat it but I’m now dreading all plans I have where Id usually drink as I feel much less sociable not drinking as I’m quieter

So I’ve enjoyed my fallow week this week. It’s almost 2wks since my last injection and I’ve enjoyed the relaxation of the suppression which has enabled me to eat more and feel healthier. Despite skipping a week, the food noise hasn’t really come back other than a little tonight. Nothing I couldn’t manage.
So I’m moving on to jab 2. I ordered a 5mg (before I realised the suppression was too much) but no way will I be taking 5mg. I’ll be taking 2.5mg tomorrow but if the extreme suppression returns then I’ll drop down to maybe 1.25 every 5 days and see how that works.

MJ has a long half life so stays in your system for at least 30days.

I completely get it. I want to reduce my alcohol but not give up. I’ve had really mixed express. Mostly I’ve been fine, and once I’ve had an awful hangover. Could it be the bubbles in the prosecco?

I usually drink beer and wine. I’ve found fizzy beer harder to drink, but my normal white wine has been ok. I can’t drink as much. After a few glasses I start to get heartburn and just naturally want to stop. I’ve found drinking some water alongside helps.

I think that was the first fizz since MJ actually, apart from aperol spritz. I’ll try sticking to wine good idea

ThisNeedsToWork · 05/07/2025 09:38

@FoxRedPuppy @Crinklecat, I remember reading in one of the old threads (maybe Feb starters) that I trawled before starting, that they’d been told that fizzy alcohol was probably a no as the jab made it difficult to metabolise. I can’t remember why but it was fizzy wine but also beer too.

Apprenante · 05/07/2025 09:40

Fizzy water gives me heartburn too so maybe it's the bubbles rather than the alcohol?

SnackcidentProne · 05/07/2025 09:52

I had 2 glasses of wine last night didn’t fancy any more. Woke up fine this morning. I think the extra carbs last night helped. Weighed myself this morning as I’ve now finished my period and I’m 11lbs down so far on w2d4.

ChiaraMontague · 05/07/2025 10:04

W4D1 - I jabbed my last 2.5 dose last night, feeling ok this morning.

Official weekly weigh-in at the gym yesterday, I’d lost 0.9kg in weight, 0.6% body fat and gained 0.2kg of muscle so really happy with that!

Since my final pre-Mounjaro weigh-in on 16th May I have lost 4.4kg and 2.4% body fat. I’ve also lost a total 0.19kg of muscle mass in that time BUT a couple of weeks ago it was 0.45kg down, so I’ve regained a total of 0.26kg in muscle in the last two weeks. Prioritising protein in every meal and doing weights 3 x a week seems to be working!

I know it’s inevitable that I will lose more muscle if my weight comes down more (and I hope it does, I’ve got at least 25kg to go!) but I’m trying to hang on to what muscle I’ve got already as I know it will be much harder to rebuild it.

Not all of my losses have been from Mounjaro, I was on holiday for 2 weeks before I started and I managed to lose 1.5kg during that time. I’d been on a high protein diet for a few weeks before I went away but hadn’t seen more than 0.3kg loss. I continued the high protein intake on holiday. That plus drinking about 4 litres of water a day and doing lots of walking and swimming while I was away seemed to finally flick a switch and start the losses. So although part of me is a little bit disappointed that I haven’t had the massive W1 losses that some people get on Mounjaro, I’m overall very happy with the last 6 weeks 😁

Thornrose · 05/07/2025 10:34

SunshineSipRepeat · 04/07/2025 21:27

Does anyone need to wee loads? To the point I’m worried. I’ve always drank 2-3l water so it’s not that necessarily. Always had a bladder of steel. But now it’s constant and urgent!

I am weeing a lot more at night. I drink lots throughout the day at work and don't go to the loo much.

I don't drink much in the evening but I'm getting up several times a night. Very strange.

Itsjunedeer · 05/07/2025 12:14

Checking in. I read along every day. It’s interesting to see how almost each one of us is having a slightly different reaction to the jab. I’m overall doing well and I’m amazed that I am already 3 weeks in. I have ordered 2.5mg for next month and will go up the following month if needed.
The biggest change for me is the evening snacking and treating myself has stopped. I’ve eaten very little bread, pasta etc and I actively consider whether the calories in something are worth it.

SW: 17.3
CW:16.5
GW:13 st, not been close to that for 30 years so that would be a wonderful achievement ( for me)

Have a fabulous weekend whatever your plans!

Yes, I think what I read said it was partly to do with the carbonisation but also how alcohol behaves when combined with bubbles.
I’ve gone off alcohol completely which I’m ok with but also gone off tea completely which I’m less ok with! 😬😆

Thesheerrelief · 05/07/2025 12:43

W4 D6 and I've lost 11 lb. I think 6lb was in the first week and then it slowed down.

Going up to 5mg on Monday because I've found the suppression is really wearing off after day 4. Nervous about increasing but hopefully it'll be okay. No significant side effects on 2.5mg, thankfully

Xmasfairy86 · 05/07/2025 12:49

@SnackcidentProne and @Gingercar
I know, I did say I should go back to weighing daily, much more of a visual. Weighed officially today and only gained 0.1kg. And due on tomorrow.

I wouldn’t worry about the 0.1kg. Someone could have a cup of tea then weigh themselves and would have increased more weight than that. If you’re due on tomorrow you could also have water retention. I’ll bet you’ll have a good loss after your period.

Picalilylou · 05/07/2025 16:02

Took my first 5mg yesterday morning and was fine all day. Woken up at 6am with nausea and diarrhoea 😭. Feeling sorry for myself.

Had no serious effects on 2.5mg except nausea day after first ever dose and mild constipation.

Hoping this is just me adjusting to the dose and will settle, but im away with work next saturday for a week so I might have to use clicks to lower next dose if it doesnt settle.

Wondering if I should have stuck at 2.5mg now, I lost 7lbs in first month, which seemed on low side compared to some, but I guess still a good loss and something I've not been able to achieve without medication.

Nerdippy · 05/07/2025 16:41

First time posting on the 3rd thread and already 30 pages!
I have taken the golden dose and will start on the 5mg pen next Saturday. Not sure if I will click to 3.75mg or take the full dose. Suppression hasn't been strong - still had an appetite especially after the first 3 days after the jab. Only lost around 5lbs in 4 weeks (bit disappointing) and that's mostly healthy eating and walking which I was doing before starting MJ.

daffodilandtulip · 05/07/2025 17:40

Hey everyone, this popped up in active ... I started in June 2024 and have lost 76lbs, which is 40% of my body weight - taking my bmi from 36.9 to 22.1.

You won't believe where you all are in a year! Go for it!

That’s fantastic! 👏🎉 You must feel amazing!

How are you finding maintenance? Are you still taking MJ?

I’ve been on 5mg for a while, will drop again after my holiday, as I’m still losing about a pound a month atm, but don’t want to upset the apple cart yet! I’ve got into a good routine with my diet, I can add up my calories easily because I tend to eat similar things, and my attitude to snacking has blown my mind.
And I feel so healthy, I’ve seen so many illness indicators vanish, and I’m loving buying nice clothes!

RatherTardy · 05/07/2025 18:42

That's so inspiring.
Thank you for sharing your experience @daffodilandtulip
I hope we all do as well. Your results are amazing

Oh that is amazing. This is what I love to hear as I don't know anyone in real life who has taken any weight loss meds.

Gingercar · 05/07/2025 19:20

That’s a lovely post @daffodilandtulip. I can’t quite get my head round the thought of being that much lighter myself.

Hello all, just caught up with the thread and enjoyed reading about everyone's experience. I am on W5 and have taken a 2.5 dose from a 5mg pen. The weight loss is going fairly well (6kg down) but on some days I am having to work at not snacking or overeating.

@Crinklecat can I ask how you got such a precise measurement of your visceral fat? My waist measurement is very high and all my weight is on my stomach and back. It doesn't seem to have gone down much at all yet. I would quite like to track it properly as it feels like a healthy risk (I have high blood pressure, my mother has vascular dementia etc). Thanks very much
