It’s amazing the amount of people that are so against it yet seem to know nothing about it! I had one person say “you don’t even know what’s in it”. …em I had no idea what was in the covid injection and I took that 😂

Ha, yes, I know way more about MJ from watching science videos and it’s been used for 20+ years for managing diabetes and I did zero research of what was in the Covid vaccine or my IVF injections!!

Wondering if anyone on here is also hypothyroid and how your weight loss is going? Feel like my body is still fighting it and holding onto all the fat 😃 going up to 5mg this weekend..

Me ! Have lost a few pounds on 2.5 . Moved to 5mg this week.
GP keeping eye on bloods as the injections can interfere with absorption of your Thyroxine.
Hows your weight loss going ?

NevilleBigBottom · 03/07/2025 20:52

Me too. How did you tell the GP so they know to keep an eye on you? I ticked the box for my provider to tell the GP but it hasn't gone on my record yet. I also take Citalopram.
I have had a good loss the first 2 weeks but have been hungry the last couple of days. Then I got my period today which might explain it.

JaceLancs · 03/07/2025 22:14

I’ve only told my adult DC
I have lost large amounts of weight before through calorie counting and giving up drinking - so most people will assume it’s that
I eat very healthily most of the time it’s the alcohol that sabotages my food efforts
Mounjaro is really helping with that - I’m not a huge tea or coffee person bar a double espresso in a morning - so need to find low calorie soft drinks that I enjoy - so far cranberry water and decent quality still cloudy lemonade are my favourites
I also like some of the CBD drinks

Crinklecat · 03/07/2025 22:29

If anyone is ordering from medexpress make sure you don’t leave it too late, I ordered on Tuesday and have just received this email. First order I got within a day or 2. I don’t need the next pen for a couple of weeks (w3d4 and will do the golden dose too) so it’s ok

Is everyone open about taking Mounjaro? I’ve only told my hubby and 1 friend as I feel people are so judgemental about it! I’m not sure what I’m going to say if people start to notice the weight loss…lie or tell the truth 🤷‍♀️ I’m on week 5 day 1 and lost 9.2lbs so not noticeable yet.
What does everyone else do?

Edited

My husband and son know, and I asked the nurse at my GP surgery if she'd monitor me a bit even though I'm buying online. Otherwise I am telling no one. Can't be arsed.

EmmaPoppins · 03/07/2025 23:16

I honestly found the golden dose easier to administer than the normal one! No medical experience whatsoever just watched the You Tube video and did it...hey presto! Think all the clicks on the normal pen way freaks me out a bit!

Lola528 · 03/07/2025 23:24

Weigh day today!

W5D1
SW 16st 4 lbs
CW 15st 7 lbs

Minus just over 1lb on week 4, will take it. Of course would love it to be more and quicker but I also get that would not be the healthiest way. So a total of 11 lbs plus a few grams in my first 4 weeks.

As mentioned on an earlier post, have decided to stick with 2.5mg for the 2nd own as I have had good suppression, so will see how it goes.

Good luck 🤞🏻 to everyone for this week xx

Me! I’ve lost about 3.5kg but it’s coming mainly from body fat rather than muscle. I’m actually feeling really good so far, tomorrow will be my last dose on 2.5 and then I’m moving up to 5mg.

I had a full blood panel done just before I started and will retest every 3 months.

I’m on W4D5. No side effects, 10lb off so far, suppression good. Difficult to eat enough, particularly protein so have had a couple whey shakes each day to help. Hoping this will help me not lose my hair as I’m 71 and vulnerable to that. Juniper sent me more needles than I needed so can I use that for the ‘golden dose’? I know my 5 dose is on its way but wouldn’t mind putting it off for a week, especially as I have paid for the 2.5 and it’s not cheap. Advice, please? I find this group really helpful as the Juniper Facebook one feels a little staged - bots? AI, perhaps?

Don’t know if anyone answered you down the thread, but you need sterile insulin needles to get the fifth dose. Look on YouTube or this one (clean the tip with alcohol wipes like normal though.)https://youtube.com/shorts/7Rsg_lY7SdI?si=NTAqdnrCfMK3OlLD YouTube has loads of videos.

Same! Actually felt it less than the pen! Relieved as it will definitely help to spread the cost 👍🏼

W3D4 - appetite suppression has definitely worn off in W3. I’m actually wondering if I got a full dose as there was some liquid on my skin after the 3rd jab, that didn’t happen with the other two. Anyway, I’m glad that I’m moving up to 5mg

Sneaky midweek weigh in and I’m 99kg exactly - so happy to have broken the 100kg milestone! 🎉

I found some liquid on my skin after dose 3, dose for - I pinched the skin, still the same. I’ve had 2 bits of advice - 1/leave it in for 10 seconds, 2/ stretch skin and inject. Haven’t tried either yet.

I am going to do the golden dose next week.
Do you put the needle all the way in ?
Got these ones coming tomorrow with some extra swabs

They’re spot on.
Yes, I pinched my thigh and then put needle all the way in at a slight angle. When the dose was in I counted to 5 before taking the needle out. Draw out more than the 0.6ml dose from the pen, as you’ll need a bit to prime with. 0.6ml equals 60 units on the syringe.

You can but I’ve seen people say you can just go in a bit if you’re worried. I’ll go in all the way to be sure.

EmmaPoppins · 03/07/2025 10:57

@Puffalicious What week are you on? I had this the first couple of weeks in the day or 2 after my jabs, bit like a cold flush, not had it last couple of weeks though, although I wouldn't have minded it in the heatwave last week!

Ah, that may explain it as I'm W3D3. DP home now, so I won't shiver tonight at least. Thanks

peanutcookie · 04/07/2025 06:40

Morning all. Took my second jab last night, does that make today W2D1 or D2? Anyway first week went fine, the first 2 days I had to really make myself eat and then I had a couple of days where it wasn't a problem. Overall I've lost 1kg this week so I'm very happy with that, though I'm not expecting to keep that level up.

Congratulations! Must feel amazing!

Crinklecat · 04/07/2025 08:35

My visceral fat is still extremely high but it’s decreased from 23 to 20 in the last 2 and a half weeks since starting MJ. Still along way to go to get below the recommended 11 though….

RussianDoll76 · 04/07/2025 08:44

wk2 day 6 feeling meh!! Had a great first week but this week I’ve wanted to eat and no movement weight wise 😞 I feel like I have food noise albeit a whisper for now but not much suppression . Really hoping my next dose gives a boost my willpower is stretching hoping I can hold out till Sunday 🙏🏻

dietstartstmoz · 04/07/2025 09:15

I have weighed myself this morning instead of tomorrow and I have lost another 1lb. I had a week of 3.75mg last week but didn't have great suppression and the past two days have felt very snacky so this morning I have had my first 5mg jab. I hope that helps to keep the urge to snack down. I don't drink alcohol its the snacking between meals that is my massive downfall.

Onwards and downwards I hope. I'm soooo close to the next stone bracket I can't wait to comfortably be in the 14stone something range! I would love to lose another 5lb before my hols in 3 weeks time.

SunshineSipRepeat · 04/07/2025 09:17

I did my second jab last night. I’ve lost 4lb in my first week. Which is fine as I struggle to lose anything anyway when I calories count and exercise so even a lb or 2 a week would be a win. My main worry is that I was running on placebo and will power last week and that’s running thin and whether I can get through another few weeks just on that alone!
