My weekly losses:

6lb week 1
2lb week 2
2lb week 3
Olb week 4

Disappointed no loss this week especially as I am keeping to 1100 calories most days. Tomorrow upto 5mg!

My sister tailed off on 2.5 then continued losing well on 5mg. Hold your nerve. 🤞

Puffalicious · 03/07/2025 10:14

Anyone else cold? I know it seems mad with all the super hot weather, but we're not that hot up.here in Scotland. It's a nice change from meno heat, but I was absolutely chittering in the evening & in bed last night. It doesn't help that DP is working away this week, so no body heat!

@UglyBastardFacei started on 5mg this week (Monday) no side effects and definitely has kick started me losing again although not dramatically. I hit the 12 stone mark this morning after being at a bit of a standstill for the week before despite not eating more than I had before. Suppression is much stronger for me on 5mg.

Keep going it will be worth it 😊

I’m cold, but I don’t know if it’s because the temp has dropped or I’m just a cold person in general.

MsRinky · 03/07/2025 10:34

Jab 6 this morning, another 0.9kg down. I'm hoping to stay on 2.5 as long as I can.

I'm peri/menopausal and usually roasting. Last night I was sat on the sofa under a thick blanket. My Hubby, who is usually cold all the time was sat in shorts and tshirt. So definitely something going on with my thermostat!

EmmaPoppins · 03/07/2025 10:57

@Puffalicious What week are you on? I had this the first couple of weeks in the day or 2 after my jabs, bit like a cold flush, not had it last couple of weeks though, although I wouldn't have minded it in the heatwave last week!

notagainyoufool · 03/07/2025 12:59

I jumped up to 5mg on Monday and I’m happy to report I’ve lost 2lbs so far after the last couple of weeks with not much loss. I found my appetite came back towards the end of my 2.5 journey. I’m not sure if perhaps it was there all along and it was the placebo effect for me initially?
I was quite disheartened after such great losses in the first couple of weeks.
I think I’ll order the 7.5 next month and just keep going up the dosage until I need to do maintenance.

FattyBumBum17 · 03/07/2025 13:14

Is everyone open about taking Mounjaro? I’ve only told my hubby and 1 friend as I feel people are so judgemental about it! I’m not sure what I’m going to say if people start to notice the weight loss…lie or tell the truth 🤷‍♀️ I’m on week 5 day 1 and lost 9.2lbs so not noticeable yet.
What does everyone else do?

Seriestwo · 03/07/2025 14:07

Telling no one. Not even my husband and the reason I went with voy was because they don’t make you tell your GP. Too much history of fat shaming there for me to face it.

Seriestwo · 03/07/2025 14:10

Maybe everyone knows this, but I asked Chat gpt to work out how many calories I need to lose weight. It’s 3500
deficit to lose a single pound, and my TDEE is 2150. So I need to be around 1300
a day to lose 1.5lb a week. Which is MUCH lower than I thought.

that explains a thing or two, I think I understand weight because I have been trying to lose it for my entire adult life - the evidence is that I don’t understand it at all, otherwise I’d not be so fat

I have only told DH and two friends (one of whom was the one to suggest it to me as she’s been on MJ since November and has lost 3 stone). I have been saying to anyone else that I’m low carbing - which is also true and the reason I’m keeping my calories low even if the jabs are the thing making it possible!

What was your first week’s loss like? You’ve still a few days until Sunday.. some people sometimes get a little plateau then a bigger loss the next week. It’s not always uniform. Hold your nerve. I bet some comes off nearer the time. It’s always good to do measurements after each couple of weeks too.

It was 5 lbs which is great I just didn’t expect to maintain so quickly x
in otherwise I do actually see different signs on my body that I am changing ie my ring isn’t so tight on my finger etc ,

Ah that’s a good idea. It’s not like we aren’t putting in the hard work..it’s just that other people seem to think it’s a cheats way out! I’ll stick to saying I’m on a diet…keep it vague for now 😂

My rings are looser too and I wondered if it did something to swelling. I’m only in week 1. Week 2 jab later today

I’m open to telling other people but will be selective about who and I’d rather wait until I’ve gone a few more months so I don’t jinx myself!

For now DH, one friend and my trainer at the gym know I’m taking it. DH and my friend are both taking it too, and my PT has got lots of other clients taking it, so they’ve all been really supportive.

My dad wouldn’t understand it. He’s stuck in the 1960s/70s in a lot of ways - he hears WLI and thinks amphetamines, so would just worry himself about me. Another friend who also happens to be a PT has been utterly vile and vitriolic about anyone using WLIs, there is no way I will ever tell her that I am taking them and bringing that negativity into my life!

Gingercar · 03/07/2025 15:26

One of my friends was very negative when I said I was considering them (she’s pretty big too). She’s read on Reddit that they’re dangerous and I should read up on it (as if I hadn’t done a shed load of research myself!). Another is a bit sniffy about them (she’s a big slimming world fan). So I haven’t told that group of friends. My husband knows (he injects me) and a couple of friends. I’ll see how I feel later.

FattyBumBum17 · 03/07/2025 15:30

It’s amazing the amount of people that are so against it yet seem to know nothing about it! I had one person say “you don’t even know what’s in it”. …em I had no idea what was in the covid injection and I took that 😂

And, as I had to remind myself the other day, I had no idea what was in everything I injected during IVF but I did it without question. And then they sent me mental anyway.

EmmaPoppins · 03/07/2025 16:16

I've told 2 friends, one started it a month before before me and been very positive, the other keeps asking me how much I have lost and how people on Facebook have lost much more than me, wish I just told the first friend only! I've not told anyone else as I do feel there is a cheating stigma attached and we are all putting in the work, calorie counting, healthy choices, protein watching, exercising etc

I've also told my trainer, she is supportive but has said not to lose too much too fast and build up strength.

i've actually stayed the same this week and a bit disappointed (end of week 4) took the golden dose last night but going with 5mg next week, will keep going!

Most people don’t know what’s in their tap water!
And they’ll all happily eat a bag of crisps a day or chocolates without knowing exactly what’s in it. And they happily have their hair dyed and they don’t know what’s in that…. They’re just led by the media.

Obviously it has risks and side effects. But I discussed it with two doctors, a nurse and a newly qualified doctor before I made the decision.

Card1gan · 03/07/2025 16:32

I have only told my husband, I’m not interested in what other people think about my weight! I wanted someone to know just in case I got ill. He would also know that something was going on by my lack of snacking 😂

I think it’s good to have the support but yes I can imagine you start to get fed up being constantly asked how much have you lost now…I think people believe the weight just falls off us. I didn’t use the golden dose, I couldn’t be bothered with the needle situation 😂 I started the 2nd pen today and took 3.75mg instead of jumping straight to 5…I’ll see how it goes!

LongGinShortTonic · 03/07/2025 17:02

The only people who know are you all. I've not told anyone, and don't intend to. I exercise lots anyway and eat fairly well, most of the time, so most people will just think it's my tri training coming on nicely. They didn't have any idea of my start weight. I'm tall so can lose a stone and a half before anyone else notices a thing.
