Morning June jabbers, first post of thread 3! I've been busy so not had much time to check in!

How's everyone doing?

I'm W4 and a Sunday jabber! Was originally Monday but switched to a Sunday for the past two weeks as finding it easier.

W1 - lost 6lb
W2 - lost 4lb
W3 - lost 2lb

so very close to a stone in 3 weeks!!

I've just received my second pen, I stayed on 2.5mg but now I'm worrying should I have moved up! Usually mid week I will have a cheeky check in on the scales and they will have moved slightly but still the same as Sunday today! I am a bit blocked up though 💩so hoping once this moves it might move!

I'm definitely not over eating, I'm eating below calories for sure and still drink 2L daily so hoping for another loss this Sunday and hoping to get that stone loss!

Anyone else stayed on 2.5mg and regretted?

I still have lots of suppression and no side effects which is why I thought I would stay on the 2.5mg.

LongGinShortTonic · 02/07/2025 10:37

Well I’m on day 3 of 5mg and just to reassure some folks about moving up - I have ZERO side effects. On 2.5 I was exhausted, headachy, few tummy issues, burpy. Now I‘m
sleeping well, feeling great, more energy, feel in control of my relationship with food and drink, able to exercise, it’s really levelled me out. Know it’s different for all of us. I was nervous but feel back to ‘old me’.

Today I broke through a stone barrier, I’m down by about 10lbs since starting, on W5. Really happy. Feels sustainable. I think the hypnosis therapy I’m having at the same
time is definitely supporting me too.

Whatanidiot123 · 02/07/2025 11:13

I am watching the going up to 5mg vs staying on 2.5mg debate with interest.

Ive just had jab number 3 so I am on wk3d1 and today the scales said I’m 6.6lb down in total so another 2lb this week. Almost half a stone. Which isn’t bad going considering my period is due and I’m normally heavier and eating loads in the days before and during.

I do think I will stick to 2.5mg and if I can achieve a consistent 1-2lb per week weight loss and feel normal and still enjoy food then that would be ideal. I don’t need total appetite suppression but I also don’t want it to wear off and then stall.

I'm W3D2 & feel similar to you. I've lost 8lbs & know it will tail off now, but will see how W3 & 4 go- plan to do golden dose too- before deciding.

My sister stayed on 2.5 for her 2nd month & was only losing 0.5/1b a week so then went to 5 for her 3rd month & saw consistent losses again - 2lb a week. No extra SE for her, so that's encouraging. She's now at target after 3 months, so coming off (2 stone lost).

IndigoBabble · 02/07/2025 11:41

Hi all

I moved up to 5mg this week. First jab Monday (week 5). No horrible side effects but would say suppression was waning and now it’s kicked back in. I’ve not slept too well since Monday but I think that more down to being too hot!

I think if your suppression is waning then it’s worth moving up so long as you are not getting any major side effects. I will review whether to move up again in a few weeks but if it’s stays like this I will stick with the 5mg.

My loss has also stalled over the last week but I did indulge in too much wine over the weekend 🙄

Scrumdiddlyumptiousness · 01/07/2025 13:00

W5D4 and I may just have finished two days of constant diarrhoea - mainly because it's been as comprehensive as colonoscopy preparation and there's nothing left. Luckily the suppression means I'm not starving, but I can't just survive off water and gaviscon.

Oh no, that's miserable, i'm sorry :(
Are you on 5mg now?
Did you have any side effects with the 2.5mg?

MtKiloMounjaro · 02/07/2025 11:50

TO 5MG or NOT TO 5MG...

For those on 2.5mg and wondering if they should move to the 5mg i just wanted to share my thinking...
I had little to no side effects on the 2.5mg and lost 9lbs (4kg) mostly because of calorie counting (1500kcals). I'm honestly not sure if there was genuine supression or just will power because after my 3rd jab the willpower was reducing. Jab 4 is today and I ordered the 5mg pen for my next month. The cost was the same as the 2.5mg pen (from Boots and with their loyalty discount) and I figure i'll try the 5mg and if i hate it i'll just reduce the amount of clicks and continue of 2.5mg. Perhaps that's an idea for others here who are debating

@NigelAdjacent It was 100% worth it and wish I hadn’t waited so long. I was at the point where I couldn’t actually do a poo without splinting and spending so long on the toilet. Recovery was hard and I was off work for two months.

Yes, I've was the same with needing to splint daily and frequently having to remove digitally (sorry for tmi). I worked with a pelvic floor physio to strengthen things up which has really helped. As long as I avoid constipation I rarely need to splint now. I'm hoping that getting down to a healthy weight might also help.
My gynae wanted me to have the repair surgery, but I'm a full time carer for my two autistic teenagers, so no way I'd be able to rest up to recover.
It's great to hear that the surgery has worked so well for you. I'll almost certainly need it in the future.

UglyBastardFace · 02/07/2025 12:07

W4 D5 and suppression all but disappeared. Have already ordered 5mg but realised how much suppression I had in in the first week in comparison to now.

Don't want to move beyond 5mg if I'm honest but time will tell....

RJmama · 02/07/2025 12:13

I’m on W3 D3. No side effects so far this week, so keep fingers crossed. It was this day last week, in the evening, that the diarrhoea came on so I’m hoping it’ll be better this week. Suppression still seems ok. It definitely helps in terms of feeling well all round that the weather is cooling where we are 🥵

DH has also started on MJ! He’s W2 D2. He lost 10lbs in the first week 😱

Wishiwasgardening · 02/07/2025 12:13

2nd jab and 1st weigh in today.

Can't beleive I have lost a whole 7 pounds! I'm normally a slow looser and even on the fast800 I only managed 3 pounds in the first week. I know it's not sustainable or desirable to continue loosing this quickly, so may increase my calories a bit if it doesn't slow down.

My first Jab was on Weds before bed, but I did it at breakfast this morning as I want to slowly move to jabbing on a Sun evening. My thinking is that I'd rather have a slightly less suppressed appetite at weekends, as that's when I'm more likely to want to eat out/socially and enjoy my food.

SW 14:2
CW 13:9
GW: 9:0 to 8:7 (I'm short!)

Chellooo · 02/07/2025 12:24

W5 day 1 and i managed to use the same pen... i didn't need any additional needles to get the golden dose, I just gave it a fair bit of force and it gave and let me click it fully open...
Just an fyi for those not too sure about ordering needles etc to get the remaining dose, you can do it without! Felt quite nice to put the finished pen in the bin with only a dribble left in it 🤗

Gingercar · 02/07/2025 12:45

Be careful though - I’ve read a fair few posts on this board where pens have broken by forcing them and the liquid has been lost. It sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t.

That’s a similar loss to me. I’m assuming it will be mostly water and not fat though still happy to see it.

Im the opposite and think I’ll need the suppression at the weekend.

Also be careful as you don’t truly know the dose you’re getting. Measuring it out into another needle is more accurate.

MissMogs · 02/07/2025 13:16

Two weeks today since I started but feels much longer! I’ve been moving the jabs back a day each week so I don’t have to take one the night before I go on a driving holiday, so I’m on week 3 day 3 now.
SW 104.4kg
CW 100.4kg
4kg loss in 2 weeks! Happy with that, though no obvious changes to how my clothes fit.
I’ve been debating whether to move up but decided to take the plunge and go to 5mg and hope for the best. If I keep moving jabs forwards I’ll have a few days so if I get bad SE I can always count the clicks as someone else suggested and reduce for when I’m away. But I didn’t want to be kicking myself for not going for it as I haven’t really felt any suppression on 2.5.

Card1gan · 02/07/2025 14:03

Is anyone else with SheMed? I’m wondering how I’m going to get away without doing my weekly check in while I’m away. I won’t have access to weighing scales and am considering not taking my pen with me (I’d jab a day early before going and start again when we’re back 12 days later). Don’t want to jeopardise being able to order from them again by missing check ins!

fufulina · 02/07/2025 14:29

Hello. W2D3. I was totally wiped out yesterday. Floored. Had a nap, and felt much better. Didn’t happen last week.
I’m losing weight very differently on MJ; on Fast800 my belly and boobs deflate in the early weeks, thighs and hips usually slower. This time my waist and boobs haven’t budged at all (4kg loss), but thighs have! I do measurements so can compare. Odd. There is a whole world of Reddit with similar concerns. Anyone see anything similar?

Thanks for all the 5mg experiences; I am debating what to do. The first jab on 5 would be on holiday so nervous about side effects. Wwyd?

That’s exactly what I’m planning on doing. I’ve just picked up the 5mg pen and I’m doing 3.75mg initially and I’ll see how it goes.

My symptoms in my first month were mainly initial exhaustion for first two weeks and some mild stomach issues but nothing major. Hardly any nausea.

I have not been asked to check in at all with my provider! Just complete a renewal form that will be issued on day 21. I’m fine tbh though - no issues with that. I already have a really good idea of what a high protein and low calorie diet looks like, I’ve just not been able to stick to it recently!

Inyournewdress · 02/07/2025 16:27

W2 D3 and I am feeling awful. Really unwell. Have not been sleeping in the heat as just couldn’t cool myself at all, then my throat is agony. I am wincing in pain every time I have to swallow, I think it’s acid related. Will have to ask GP for something but haven’t done it today because ironically feel too ill to go. Just feeling very rough in myself and weak as can’t eat much. I have to pick DD up from nursery and I don’t know how I am going to manage. Don’t worry not driving, will have to walk.

World’s smallest violin I know but just feeling so so ill

That sounds more like covid to me. I would do a test first .
Hope it clears up soon

Inyournewdress · 02/07/2025 17:11

I hadn’t even thought of that @Catladyof7 but you are right I should check

I’m not even sure the new strains are showing up on a test though!

I have period-type pains but I’m not due on.

im also hungry today and could snack. Using will power. Jab day tomorrow.

MissMogs · 02/07/2025 17:30

Has anyone forced the pen/used a syringe to extract extra liquid and used it for their 4th jab, so effectively increased the dose at jab 4 rather than waiting for jab 5?
