Getting very jittery hearing stories of bad reactions to 5! Hope that’s the end of the 💩 for you @Scrumdiddlyumptiousness!
I just don’t know what to do. Willpower of steel this morning not to snack, and just caved and ate an ice cream. I need more support than this or else it’s just a waste of money if I’m eating as before!

Chellooo · 01/07/2025 16:18

So it appears I've found my SE... alcohol.... i just can't have it anymore. Since starting the jabs I've had a drink on 2 occasions, and when I say drink I mean 2/3 glasses of wine/cocktail over the space of a few hours. Normally this wouldn't even touch the sides, but recently I've been reaaaally tipsy then spending the night with quite horrific V&D, and the hangover the next day similar to being out on a day long session!
Definitely off the booze now!

nailslikeknives · 01/07/2025 16:24

@Scrumdiddlyumptiousness or maybe 45 clicks for a 3.75 dose? That’s my plan when I get to W6 (W5 will be the bonus dose of 2.5mg)

Same here . Will be getting the 5mg pen but doing 3.75 so its not a big jump from 2.5 .

W4D 4 and first SE has hit, nausea 🤢, real horrible nausea. Keeping fluids up, had a nap, but just won’t go. I don’t eat breakfast and had to force myself to have lunch, high protein. Others who have had this already, what helped?

scarediecat · 01/07/2025 16:39

I just had an iced vanilla latte and had to stop half way through as I felt so sick. No more milky drinks for me! (Just typing that is making me want to vomit).

W3D2 and 10lbs down :-)

healthjourney · 01/07/2025 16:53

@Dellabella83ive had a bit of nausea the last couple of weeks and my go to suggestions are electrolytes (if I haven't already had any that day) ginger tea and a small snack like crackers. I hope it passes soon ❤️

Weird the nausea hit me around the same stage. I tend to just have to put up with it until lunchtime when it wanes its like having bloody morning sickness! Its crazy warm here though so I think that is having an impact.

No solution from me, I saw someone on YouTube recommend ginger shots first thing in the morning though so if mine continues when the weather cools im gonna try that.

I’m on W4D5. No side effects, 10lb off so far, suppression good. Difficult to eat enough, particularly protein so have had a couple whey shakes each day to help. Hoping this will help me not lose my hair as I’m 71 and vulnerable to that. Juniper sent me more needles than I needed so can I use that for the ‘golden dose’? I know my 5 dose is on its way but wouldn’t mind putting it off for a week, especially as I have paid for the 2.5 and it’s not cheap. Advice, please? I find this group really helpful as the Juniper Facebook one feels a little staged - bots? AI, perhaps?

Week 2 , Day 2 .
Have just borrowed the next door neighbours scales .
At least i now have a rough idea of weight

CW 81kg. ( think i must have been around 83 kg when i started 9 days ago )
GW 57-60 Kg

Only 5 ft tall .

RussianDoll76 · 01/07/2025 18:52

Wk 2 day 3 and woke up feeling normal
not hungry all good !!! Haven’t eaten so much last few days so made an effort had a protein bagel with lean bacon and egg . Since then I’m not hungry but picky I’ve eaten far more today and don’t feel I have much suppression I’ve also had a can of Pepsi max which I’ve not had since day 1 ( was a big PM drinker) Sat down for a chill and thinking about food . 🤔 I’ve only had one day where I felt “foody” since day one. I ate a bagel that day too. Could it be that ? Or a coincidence . Anyone else have any experience of this ? I’m a little worried 😧

How did you get a prescription without knowing your weight @Catladyof7?

Catladyof7 · 01/07/2025 19:24

I knew i was obese and around 13 stone , maybe a bit more .
I had to send photos.
Thats a lot for someone only 5 ft tall

Catladyof7 · 01/07/2025 19:26

I ask the doctor who rang me today how much i was when he weighed me last year and i was 12 and a half stone then and definitely put a lot more on since then

Ah ok. I only ask as for my provider I had to do a video of me which then had to pan down to the scales!

Catladyof7 · 01/07/2025 19:32

This forum is my only support . Thank you
I text my sister today , told her i think i have lost about 4-5lb…no response , changed the subject , so no support as she just thinks i am fat and lazy !
I am active through the day doing housework jobs, gardening etc and i have animals to care for .
I dont think i am particularly lazy , but its not nice to think thats what you are thought of.
My mother was the same, no support, no encouragement and no well done .
I know i am old now at 68 , but things stay with you and all the bullying at school and beyond for many years called fat ( i wasnt fat in my teens and was ok till i hit around 50 )
My sister was complaining her size 8 are getting a bit tight !
She is 84 and never ever been a bit overweight, more the opposite.
Makes me a bit depressed really when she doesnt support me .
Sorry for the rant

My BMI was well over 30

Wishiwasgardening · 01/07/2025 19:35

Can I join your lovely supportive group? I did my first Jab on Weds 25 before bed, so I'm 6 or 7 days in depending on whether I count the day of the jab? 2nd jab tomorrow and I'm feeling much more confident about it.

I've got a lot to loose, ideally 5 to 5 1/2 stones as I have osteoarthritis and need to be well within a healthy BMI to help with that. No awful SE so far, just a dry mouth, which is helping me to drink extra water. The food noise suppression is working really well so far, but I am still able to eat reasonable portions.

I have been worrying about constipation because I have a bowel prolapse due to a birth injury. I've managed to stave off having surgery by working with a physio and keeping myself regular, but constipation could undo all my hard work. So as well as keeping my calories to about 1200 and protein to 90g+, I'm also aiming for 30g+ of fibre a day.

I’ll be doing my second injection tomorrow as well. I’ve been worried about constipation as well due to having a rectocele repair after giving birth. So far no issues and have been drinking loads of water.

You have to order special needles for a golden dose. As you need to extract the liquid from the pen.

BadgerFace · 01/07/2025 20:04

I made the mistake of weighing myself in the library today - it turns out my scales are far kinder than the library’s big machine - unless I was wearing 4 pounds of clothes in this hot weather!

I was feeling a bit hungry today but I’m day 6 (W5) so I think that’s okay, especially as I stuck to 2.5mg.

I wish a had the alcohol suppression others are experiencing. I’ve definitely cut down but I know my loss would be greater if I cut it out completely but then the other part of me wants to be near real life (or that’s just an excuse?!). I have at least avoided any hangovers and associated carbs as well as all the post-drinking snacking so some wins in there.

It's great to hear that you've managed to avoid the constipation too. I've heard stories of people getting really bunged up, let's hope we can both avoid that.

Can I ask about your rectocele repair? How did it go, was it worth it basically? My gynaecologist (who also prescribes the MJ) took one look at my last appt and wrote me a referral for the surgeon but I’m frankly terrified and secretly hoping that if I lose a lot of weight I won’t need to do it…..

NigelAdjacent · 01/07/2025 20:14

So i realised that the awful nausea i had on Sunday was actually a hangover from the half a margarita i drank the night before. I felt so rough. Won’t be repeating.

I’m due to do my w6 jab tomorrow (5mg 2nd week, started MJ last week of May). The last few days I’ve felt quite light headed and weak despite upping my cal allowance to 1400. I think it’s the heat, it’s been above 35 here and dropping only to about 28 at night. Anyway, rehydration sachets and regular small meals seem to be my thing.

Ive definitely had to be more careful on 5mg about stopping eating before I feel full - if I overdo it even on nutritious and ‘healthy’ options I feel rough for hours.
