I see your burping and raise you gurgling as well. My poor stomach is not happy.

Gurgling! Confused Hope it passes over soon! I’ve never burped so much in my life, weirdest side effect.

Pennina · 30/06/2025 22:29

Just finished my first week and I’m 3 lb down, I’d be happy if I keep this up! No side effects either - so all good. Still a long way to go but I do feel confident that I’ll get there.

ThisNeedsToWork · 01/07/2025 00:40

I’m having a fallow week. 😆 Hope that doesn’t stop my progress. I didn’t take my 4th jab on Saturday as I really wanted to lessen my suppression. Today I have managed roughly1000 calories which is so much better. If suppression goes completely, I’m still going to wait until the weekend using sheer willpower then start my new jab. It’s 5mg but I’m going to use 2.5 every 10 days and see how I go.
Does anyone know if they’ll allow me to revert to 2.5mg for my 3rd pen?

Jabbed Friday, have a red patch on my thigh where I injected, a bit like a reaction to a bite. Anyone had similar?

Yes me!! Last week- I was starting to worry it was infected. I uploaded a pic to chat gpt which put my mind at rest and suggested I take an antihistamine, apply a cold compress every so often and put antihistamine cream on. All of which I did - it went down and just looks like a feint mark now. Not doing a thigh jab again - did stomach this week and it’s fine / just a small bruise.

notagainyoufool · 01/07/2025 06:54

I took my first 5mg dose yesterday. I ended up putting on 4lbs in my last week of 2.5, so definitely needed the increase. I found appetite suppressant had worn off totally.
so far no side effects from yesterday’s jab.

sw 14.7 (ish) - I didn’t actually weigh myself for the first few days
cw 13.8
gw 10.7

Thank you! See it was jab 5 and I always do thigh, only change was it was a new pen!

W1D7 week 1 weigh in this morning - loss of 6.6lbs!
It's been a strange week. Very mild SEs, mild nausea, a couple of days of mild diarrhoea, generally very thirsty, a little fatigued, but that's ok.
Good suppression. I've been eating 3 small meals a day. And the occasional snack of a couple of corn cakes if I need something to quell the nausea. Keeping water intake up. Food tastes have changed. Absolutely no desire to eat anything sweet.
It definitely started to wear off days 5 and 6 and I did eat a little more.
Not tracking calories. I've been battling my weight for 40 years and think I've got a good handle on what a healthy diet looks like. I just cannot control my portion sizes at mealtimes. And I do tend to graze all day on bits and pieces.

I can't really express my relief that I've had a whole week of not thinking about food constantly. It's quite a subtle feeling. It's hard to explain.
I'm hoping this continues. It's been revelatory on so many levels!
On to jab 2 this evening. Will wait to see how next week pans out 🤞.
Expecting less weight loss, as 6.6 lbs is insane, even with water weight. And hoping for less SEs

I get the red patch after jabbing. It fades pretty quickly and doesn't seem to be an issue.

Librariesrule · 01/07/2025 07:18

First weigh in = -5lbs. Happy with that, appetite has definatrly been suppressed. Off now to do 2nd jab before heading off to the office.

Well done. That’s great for the first week. I had my first injection last Wednesday afternoon so would this make me W1D7 as well? I’ve just weighed myself and down 3.2kg so really happy so far as no SE and have also managed 4 gym sessions.

FoxRedPuppy · 01/07/2025 07:30

W3 D1, just jabbed again. And weighed. I’ve lost 1kg this week, which is better as I want to lose slowly. I’ve actually put on 1kg since mid-week last week, as I am weighing almost every day. But I’m glad as I am really worried about losing too fast.

I don’t want to lose muscle and I don’t want to risk piling all back on afterwards, so slow is good. I wasn’t eating enough last week- managing only 900 calories a day.

Today is cooler where I am so a run and some weight training, after I’ve done the dog walk and school run.

SW 88kg
CW 83.7kg
GW 70kg

W5D1 and going up to the 5mg pen later today. Appetite suppression has really dropped off in the last 2 weeks and I’ve actually gained a lb this week 😱 hoping the step up puts me back on track. 8lbs in 4 weeks is still not too bad

FineandDandie · 01/07/2025 08:28

W4D1 and I'm down 3lbs since last week so that's 8lbs in total: 5lbs week 1, 0lbs week 2, 3lbs week 3. Last 2.5mg jag today and then moving up to 5mg as I really have noticed a lessening of suppression. If I can keep to an average of 2lbs a week I'll be delighted!

Bloozie · 01/07/2025 08:38

W2D3 - still getting good suppression, no side effects at all. I’m saying this to reassure all the people reading and worrying before they start. It can be bad. It can be fine.

Not counting any chickens though and still recording everything meticulously - food, mood, poos, day of menstrual cycle, everything - as I know the side effects can kick in at any time and I want to be vigilant. Hoping to stay on 2.5mg for month 2 but too soon to say yet whether the suppression will stay.

Made the mistake of drinking a bottle of wine on Friday night and had a hangover until today. My hangovers are legendary so that’s not a side effect, but not being able to comfort it with carbs was a pisser. You live and learn.

One thing I have noticed is I don’t have the portion control impact some other people report. I can eat a full size meal. The thing that’s stopping me is that I don’t need to. So I’m easily managing to limit myself to whatever calorie count I’ve set for the day, but I’ve not been over-faced by anything. Bit disappointed by that as I’ve always wondered what it’s like to be one of those women that couldn’t POSSIBLY eat a whole jacket potato, that’s too much for me, how can you sit and eat all that…? The kind that buys a Twirl and eats one finger, and tucks the other away for later because it’s just too much…

I wanted to be that annoying, for a day at least.

Ah well.

I think that is how those people do it. They don’t get overfull with a small portion. They eat until they don’t need to and stop. There are studies on people based on childhood experiences of being allowed to leave food and stuff.

I think this is definitely a thing. My niece is naturally very slim. We were talking at the weekend (I'm open about the jabs) and we're discussing how much we can eat. She said she just hates the feeling of being very full, so doesn't have a problem stopping when she starts to feel full. I do believe we are all wired differently and one day they'll find the reason behind our "food noise". I think the WLI are just the start of the research tbh!

ChiaraMontague · 01/07/2025 09:27

W3D4 - appetite suppression has definitely worn off in W3. I’m actually wondering if I got a full dose as there was some liquid on my skin after the 3rd jab, that didn’t happen with the other two. Anyway, I’m glad that I’m moving up to 5mg

Sneaky midweek weigh in and I’m 99kg exactly - so happy to have broken the 100kg milestone! 🎉

Gingercar · 01/07/2025 11:18

Weigh in day for me and another 1.5lbs off, taking me to-18lbs in six weeks. Very pleased. It’s slowly and surely going down,

Whatanidiot123 · 01/07/2025 11:20

@Bloozie - I hate being over full so I’m definitely that person when it comes to portion sizes. Unfortunately though, I graze, snack and have a terrible sweet tooth so that’s what gets me and whilst I’m finding it’s a bit better, it’s not gone away and I still have food noise, it’s just that I also don’t fancy much so I’m less likely to indulge in it.

I seem to be able to tolerate hunger much better and also suddenly I’m so much more thirsty and I think some of that is an awareness of thirst vs hunger that I think I wasn’t great at knowing.

I suspect I will um and ah about moving up to 5mg but I’m swaying towards staying on 2.5g as we will be away for a fortnight and I don’t want to risk experiencing side effects whilst away.

farfallarocks · 01/07/2025 11:40

W2 day 2 and I thought it wasn’t working yesterday! Today I can barely eat a thing again and struggling to get to 700/800 calories a day. Sunday ( day 7) was the only day I could eat normally and still then I think 1000 calories. I’ve also lost 4 kgs which feels too much in a week but managing to keep the strength training up ( and seem to have energy)
sleep has been awful though so starting on some magnesium for that.
striking thing for me is it’s totally broken my glass of wine after work habit. Worth it just for that as I was drinking far to much

Scrumdiddlyumptiousness · 01/07/2025 13:00

W5D4 and I may just have finished two days of constant diarrhoea - mainly because it's been as comprehensive as colonoscopy preparation and there's nothing left. Luckily the suppression means I'm not starving, but I can't just survive off water and gaviscon.

Whatanidiot123 · 01/07/2025 13:31

@Scrumdiddlyumptiousness sounds grim - is this from 5mg?

Crinklecat · 01/07/2025 13:34

ive just ordered my 5mg pen, still on w3 and will use the golden dose from current pen but can decide to do a lower dose if needed and will go over the 30 days if needed (not recommending but I’m comfortable with the risk)

Scrumdiddlyumptiousness · 01/07/2025 14:06

Yes, came on the day after 1st jag of 5mg. I thought the silver lining of the complete emptying of my entire digestive system would have been visible weight loss but it's only been 1.5lb and I look 4 months pregnant from bloating. And my poor bumhole is not happy.

Now the question is should I do a 30 click 2.5mg dose this weekend or am I feeling lucky and should I stick to 5mg?

I did a cheeky sixth dose from my pen last week and have survived to tell the tale.
