7 stone down on mounjaro - but not seeing a change in dress size

Just that really. I’ve been taking mounjaro for just over a year and gone from 17.5 stone to 9.13 as of this morning, yet I’ve only gone down from a 24/26 dress size to a 20/22. It’s making me doubt myself, my scales, everything. People are noticing that I’ve lost weight and some of my old clothes are nit ridiculously baggy, but I thought I’d be smaller by now? I’m short - barely 5’2” and middle aged so have that spread (but not menopausal or even peri menopausal). Is it me, or have other people had a similar experience? I’ve got 3 stone to go until I’m in the middle of normal BMI.

There is no way you can be a size 20/22 at 9.13 unless you are 3ft tall

Wowzel · 17/06/2025 20:35

That doesn't sound right, I'm the same height as you, weigh 61kg and am a size 12.

Peasantlypoor · 17/06/2025 20:36

Your BMI is 25.3... none of your makes sense

NeedForSpeed · 17/06/2025 20:37

Go shopping. Try some new clothes on, especially fitted items.

I have lost 5 stone and am in a size 18-20 down from a 24 (which were all probably stretched to a 26 tbh).

Bigfatsunandclouds · 17/06/2025 20:37

At 9.13 you would be a 12 at 5ft 3 - unless you have the biggest boobs known to man?

HotCrossBunplease · 17/06/2025 20:37

Impossible. I am 12 stone and 5’5 and a size 14/16. Do you use a tumble drier? Maybe your clothes have shrunk?

Wishimaywishimight · 17/06/2025 20:38

Another 3 stone would bring you down to 6st 13 - this all sounds very odd!

Gingercar · 17/06/2025 20:39

Are you sure you don’t mean 13.9 instead of 9.13? That would make more sense!

This what I was going to say - at 9.13 you already are at healthy weight, another 3 stone and you'd be severely underweight.

This!

Get yourself some new clothes. Its hard at first to buy things that dont swamp you, get things that actually fit you.

TheChosenTwo · 17/06/2025 20:43

I was 16st when I started MJ at 5’8.
BMI was 35 and my dress size was pretty much an 18.
ive lost 5 stone and sitting around 11 stone/BMI 24.6 at the moment, wearing size 10/12.
You’re a good few inches shorter than me but still I can’t make sense of your measurements!
Where do you think you carry most of your weight?

TheFormidableMrsC · 17/06/2025 20:46

That can’t be right. Have you been weighed at the GP? There is no way you’re a 20/22 at 9 stone.

BananaSpanner · 17/06/2025 20:46

Load of rubbish. I’m only an inch taller than you and at 9 st 13, I’m a 12. I’m now 8st 8 and an 8-10. If I lost a further 2 stone I’d look ill.

lapuf · 17/06/2025 20:47

Must be a typo, I’m a similar height (5’3”) and normal bmi/size 12 at 10st ish

WhereHasMyPlanetGone · 17/06/2025 20:48

If you lost another 3 stone you’d be underweight. Your numbers are off somewhere.

WelshMoth · 17/06/2025 20:49

Is this excess skin
do you think OP?

The numbers definitely don’t add up.

Not necessarily. I'm 5ft 4 and 9 stone 13 and am a size 8.

Soontobesingles · 17/06/2025 21:09

This makes no sense I am your weight and height and I am a size 10-12, still fit in some size 8 trousers from when I was a bit smaller. Do you have loads of excess skin? What are your waist/tummy/thigh/back/bust/butt measurements? We do all carry weight differently and one person could be your weight/height and a size 14 and another a size 10 depending on how weight is distributed but what you are describing is odd.

HansHolbein · 17/06/2025 21:11

I’m taller than you at 5’5 but I’ve gone from 16st size 20 to 9st size 8. Are you sure your numbers are correct?

stclementine · 17/06/2025 21:12

Ok just me then. 7.5 stone is middle of normal for me so 2.5 nit three, sorry. Definitely lost 7.5 stone as I’ve been using the same scales from the start. I haven’t tried to get into smaller clothes as a 22 still feels like it fits me. I have still got a stomach, big arse etc. doesn’t feel like loose skin, but as I’ve never lost this much weight before I guess I don’t knkw what loose skin without the under, ting flab is like.

A size 22 doesn't fit you. It can't fit you. You just don't know how to dress for your new weight. And at 7 and a half stone you'd have a BMI of 19, how are you factoring that as 'middle of healthy' ?!

SabrinaThwaite · 17/06/2025 21:16

7st 7lbs at 5’2” is a BMI of 19.2. That’s on the lower end of a healthy BMI for women.

Bigfatsunandclouds · 17/06/2025 21:18

What kind of clothes are we talking about? There is no way that you are still wearing 20/22 trousers at that weight!

summerscomingsoon · 17/06/2025 21:19

Doesn't make sense. I've gone from 14 stone to 11 stone. Was a size 18 now a 14 is loose but 12 too tight on stomach. I've got a big stomach but slim legs so pretty awkward.

tbf-I was wearing my old clothes for a long time after weight loss. I just didn't SEE the loss if that makes sense. and they were comfy. In the end I threw them all out and as pps advise - go and buy new fitted clothes, not loose stuff. you will be suprised

there is no way you are in a 20/22 at 9.13 stone unless you have massive boobs and need a large top. Or have extremely large thighs yet no fat on them and need a larger size

Blackbookofsmiles1 · 17/06/2025 21:20

Maybe you like baggy clothes, so if there baggy you think they fit? Try on a size 14 and see if you can get your body in it, doesn’t matter if you like the dress or not, you don’t have to buy it, just see if your body physically fits in it, then try a size 12, then 10 etc etc, that should help you a bit more with gaining an idea of what size you are regardless of how you like your wear your clothes.
