Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.
Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Thread 6 blows my mind

Well done, @GameOfJones A loss when you've been away over the weekend is brilliant.

@tryingtobesogood C25K is such a good way to get into running, I did a version of it returning to running post-injury both times. Much like my weight loss journey, it was snail's pace, I did 3 weeks on each "week" of C25K, but the first time I did a 30min run each time was euphoric.

Mid-week accountability weigh in, and after a bit of a blow-out dinner for work last night (one of those endless tasting menus that bore me by about course 5 but 4 more courses to go, really hard to manage calories with menus like that, so just need to balance it a bit for the next couple of days) I've gained a bit, but still below goal, which is fine. I also think I'm retaining a lot of water, face is a bit puffy, and after missing last months period, I think I'm about to start one soon.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7
GW 8st 10lb/122lb (22.6lb total target loss) BMI 21.6
CW 8st 9.7lb/121.7lb BMI 21.6

0.3lb below goal.

seasidehunter · 25/06/2025 09:57

@tryingtobesogood I totally agree with what @TheBossOfMe said. C25K is an excellent way to get running. I used it when I first started running about 12 years ago (and have run 20 marathons since!) and I always use a version of it when I come back to running after an injury. My coach has always said that if you can't complete a run it is not the distance that is the problem, but the pace - if you slow it down enough then you'll complete it. Do not be afraid to repeat weeks if you find it tough going either - some weeks are harder than others or seem like a bigger step than others and its okay to have a couple of weeks at the same stage before moving onto the next. It's better that than quitting!

tryingtobesogood · 25/06/2025 10:35

Thanks @seasidehunter snd @TheBossOfMe i will wait for it to cool down later and head out.

Bipaloss · 25/06/2025 10:53

Well done @GameOfJones

had a cheeky Wednesday weigh-in. I’ve lost the 2lb I put on over my holiday and I’m focused on moving down to the next stone. I am going back to where I used to work at the beginning of August, I’d like my weight loss to be noticeable by then.

I’ve been happy with not tracking calories etc, but think I will be more ‘diet’ for a while, see if it makes a difference. I’m hoping to lose 9lb in 5 weeks.

im also going to up my exercise. I did so much walking on holiday and feel better for it, would be a shame not to build on that. I’m thinking about C25K, starting tonight. Ok, putting it out there: I will do C25K from tonight. 😱

I have just completed week 5 of c25k and really recommend it! I just did my first 20 minutes continuous "run" (more of a jog) yesterday and still can't believe I managed to do it, and could have continued!

I've just ordered my 4th pen - another 5mg as I'm still losing weight steadily and am lucky enough to not really have had any side effects to date

SW - 18 stone 3
CW - 14 stone 13

So overall I'm down 3 stone and 4 pounds since the beginning of March. Still a long way to go but I'm absolutely delighted with progress and the lifestyle changes I've made

museumum · 25/06/2025 11:24

Well done on the C25k @Purplebeag - I have always been a runner but when my weight went up to nearly 90kg I was just soooo sore and injured almost all the time (I'm a recent, covid+perimeno weight gainer). I'm back down to 80kg now and OMG it's sooo much easier. I feel like I'm going at the same pace but my 5k time is at least 4min faster, even without additional effort. I cannot wait to get back down to closer to 70. I'll feel like i'm flying!!!!!!!

[note: am still, and always have been very very slow objectively, but I can still feel like i'm going well :) ]

BeaTwix · 25/06/2025 11:46

I've been absent. Bit of holiday and then some family disasters necessitating emergency travel. My diet has been all over the shop.

So unsurprisingly I've not lost any weight (and in fact seem to have re-gained a little).

However, quite a few people have now commented on my weight loss (it's only 1.5 stones and I have about 8 to loose so not really that much). But it is gratifying.

I had gastroenteritis a few weeks ago (thank you small child at work) and now have secondary dairy intolerance which is really tricky to manage - I've been using a lot of protein yogurts and puddings. So I'm now experimenting with protein plant based yogurt - got the alpro ones which are Ok, but not great. And sorbet/ plant based ice cream just isn't the same... I was so pleased with myself for having got into the habit of ordering a small gelato (rather than the huge one I would have had historically).

SW: 127kg
CW: 117.6kg
GW: 73kg.

Current dose: 6.25

Lolliz87 · 25/06/2025 11:53

mid week check and weigh in and I’m delighted to say I’ve lost the half pound gain and more! Also I am officially under 100kg for first time in 2.5 years yay! And also hit 3 stone weight loss. Will try and ‘keep’ the loss over the weekend and maybe even add to it. Woohoo

Fatmumslim01 · 25/06/2025 15:12

seasidehunter · 24/06/2025 17:54

@Fatmumslim01 Ive just moved from Oushk to Pharmulous at a BMI of 25.5ish.

Oushk say you'll need to provide evidence of a recent prescription if you haven’t ordered from them in the last 6 weeks.

I moved because Oushk want everyone to have a weight verification video call (different from maintenance consultation) but it’s been poorly communicated (email newsletters don’t arrive and they send most communications via their FB group which I’m not prepared to join). Was happy to do the call once I found out about it, but it seems nigh impossible to book one anyway - only available in a very limited time window late afternoons and none available for months. I’m always racing around after teenagers late afternoon or at work and I can’t anticipate if I’ll be available months in advance. So I moved to pharmulous before I got under BMI 25 with a view to staying with them for maintenance. Have only had one pen from them, but the communication over it was really simple and well organised. Online consultation one day, clinicians emailed me to ask for ID and weight verification info the next, pen arrived day after. Hopefully re-ordering will be just as simple.

@seasidehunter do pharmolous offer a discount for maintenance like oushk do?

Very happy with the scales at weigh in today...2 pound lost this week taking me to 12stone12 so into a new stone bracket and a total loss of 23 pound in Just under 14 weeks.

Feeling really settled on 5mg after my wobble a few weeks ago when I wasn't sure if it was working that well, my weight loss is more like 2 pound a week rather than 1 now and suppression is lasting most of the week, in fact for the last 2 weeks I've gone 8 days between jabs as haven't felt I've needed it as much on day 7.

Start date 21 march
Height 5 foot
SW 14-7
CW 12-12
GW 11-7 as mini goal, final goal possibly 9-7

Beinthepresent · 26/06/2025 09:59

Morning all. Weigh in day for me. End of week 14.
Loss of 0.7 kilos this week.
Just a bit of a warning. I've felt ill for the last few days extremely drained, not able to do my daily yoga (I do have autoimmune disease so not completely uncommon to feel like this sometimes) we had pizza and fries last night and it was just what I needed I feel so much better today . I realized that this week I have only eaten chicken and salad and very small portions. My body obviously needed some carbs. I upped to 3.75 mg last week and I've struggled to eat until last night. So do take care of yourselves everyone.
Sw 104.9 kilos
Cw 89.5 kilos

seasidehunter · 26/06/2025 11:57

@Fatmumslim01 Pharmulous don't have specified 'plans' in the same way as Oushk do. So, as far as I'm aware, they don't do a scheme where you get a 'discount for maintenance' per se but equally they don't charge a monthly fee if you choose to go with a 'stop taking MJ but want the option of restarting' route either. My understanding is that they discuss needs on an individual level and make recommendations from there.

TheBossOfMe · 26/06/2025 12:07

@museumum I'm a really slow runner as well - back of the pack not much faster than the walkers on Parkruns! But it doesn't matter so much to me, I just like being out in the open air running.

@Lolliz87 That's two fab mini-goals reached, well done! @Fatmumslim01 New number on the scales is so good to see, isn't it?

Jab day today - I skipped my split dose 2nd jab on Monday, so back to just one 5mg shot on Thursdays ahead of the weekend. Hunger very definitely crept back in and I haven't had that super full feeling that I get about 30 mins or so after eating at all over the last 2-3 days. Logically I know that I have MJ in my system, but I think by day 4 it's falling to levels where it's not affecting me very much, which is of course why I started doing the split dose rather than a single weekly shot.

So the last few days have been all about how to maintain - apart from the annoying and not at all enjoyable work dinner, I've been careful about slowly adding calories back in, and really thinking about portion size and plate composition. Back to tracking via MFP for a while until I feel confident that my eyes are able to properly judge what a maintenance plate of the things I like to eat should look like. I will confess that I've left calories in the bank for the last few days for a scoop of ice cream after dinner though!

Bouncing around below goal still though - 1.4lb below this morning.

Lolliz87 · 26/06/2025 12:23

So still having a good week weight loss wise but oh dearie me something I ate yesterday did not agree with me at all! Spent most of this morning from 6am-9am hugging the loo and on the loo! Sorry for TMI. Seems to have settled but this MJ is a funny old thing, I didn’t eat anything that is a normal trigger for me but I’ll be avoiding fish for a while now…..😂

Stephenkingsbiggestfan · 26/06/2025 13:04

Hi all

Checking in after a week in the sun.

SW 13st 6lb
W1 12st 13lbs
W2 12st 12lbs
W3 12st 10lbs
W4 12st 8lbs
W5 12st 6lbs
W6 12st 4lbs
W7 abroad so couldn’t weigh
W8 12 st 0lbs

Just about to jab with 7.5 for the first time.

Has anyone else noticed that ADHD behaviours have improved on mounjaro? I feel so much calmer and can focus on my work much easier now. Is that a thing or just a coincidence?

GameOfJones · 26/06/2025 13:26

@Stephenkingsbiggestfan anecdotally it definitely seems to be a thing as I've heard lots of people with ADHD saying the same thing in terms of positive effects from the jabs.

PoundsLost · 26/06/2025 18:08

Just checking in - still slow but I have finally reached a BMI of 29.9! It’s a weight of 14st 0.5 which occurred after a very upset stomach last night but I HOPE to be in the 13s next week.

The Shotsy graph is a big help in motivation. I haven’t lost even 2 stone in 16 weeks but the graph and numbers (1.7lbs a week) help when it feels like actually it’s a quarter of a pound every 2 weeks.

Everyone else doing very well!

That’s fascinating. Thank you I shall do some further research!

popdepop · 26/06/2025 20:07

Hi all, im really behind with the thread. Hope everyone is doing OK! I started 16/3 and I've lost 2 stone 9 pounds. I seem to have lost motivation and it's no longer a focus? Just part of routine life. im sticking within my calories but definitely not drinking enough. I'm in a rut working from home and not getting much exercise other than dog walk. For the first time I've gained a pound, but official weight in day tomorrow. Just wish I could start losing again, I seem to have plateaed. Stuck at 14 stone 3 ish. Want to intially really 11stone, then decide from there... just a bit meh

soupforbrains · 26/06/2025 20:10

@Stephenkingsbiggestfanyes. It’s very common anecdotally with MJ. And I can tell you that for me it was HUGE difference almost instantly. I have a long weight loss journey so I’m going to be on for a long while before maintenance is a thing but a part of me is already dreading coming off MJ. Because of the dramatic difference it’s made to my life. I am able to focus so much better, far less procrastination, and my focus is more productive and less manic. I’m so SO much more productive at work and in my home and I’m able to relax and get to sleep better as I don’t have the constant noise and chatter inside my head. It took me a fair bit of adjustment because the first couple of weeks I was almost lonely inside my own head because it was so quiet. But I love it now and can’t imagine going back to my ‘normal’

Yes that’s exactly how I feel. For the first time I have inner peace. No noise in my head. The clarity is incredible!

and yes the weird feeling like something is missing. I feel like I have so much free time now!

Bipaloss · 26/06/2025 21:11

I’m starting to feel I’m in denial of my weightloss 😂

think it’s because in the last 5 weeks I had one whosh and remaining more or less stayed the same , but I really think I’ve lost inches during the 5 weeks (wish I measured in hindsight might start that now)

all my clothes are too big , even stuff that was too small before is loose

my braas well probably fill half the cup and gone in the two braces and still loose

my knickers are almost up to my chest or falling off (used the full ones last few years)

was hoping to chuck everything near goal and go on a massive shopping spree rather than shopping bits during the journey

how are you all managing this? Are you shopping bits , trying to wait it out or what’s the plan (for reference I’m at 2.5 stone down 47% towards goal)

Yellowsubmarine55 · 26/06/2025 21:46

@Bipaloss I've not got issues with knickers just yet but my bras are so not supportive anymore I feel like I'm bobbling around in my D cup 🤣

It's getting boring with another day, another sack to wear as tops are massive or holding up my trousers with a belt. its affecting how I feel in myself, like I'm self conscious again. So I've bought a few bits off vinted for when I'm in public but at home I'm wearing baggy stuff.

I've discovered dresses that cover a size 12 to a 16. (Stretch waist) so they'll be a keeper and I'll shrink down into it.

TryingMJ · 27/06/2025 07:07

Morning all, Friday morning weigh in here. Trying to post it quickly first thing as the last few weeks I haven’t had chance to post until the evening!

Well I have hit my goal 🎉

Start weight 13 stone 6.5lbs

Current weight 10 stone 0lbs

Loss this week 1lb

Total loss 3 stone 6.5lbs

I am 5’ 5” and 39 years old, start BMI was 30.9 (obese) and current is 23.3.

I am really happy with the loss and where I am. If I maintained this for the rest of my life I’d be ecstatic 😂
I have 4.5 weeks until I go on a big family holiday (three weeks long) and turn 40, so I am hoping to lose maybe 5lbs or so to be around 9 stone 9lbs so I have that bit of a buffer on holiday. I will be taming 5mg while on holiday too so I don’t totally fall off but I do want to enjoy my food while away. Then when I’m back I will consider my options for maintenance/coming off/going forwards into end of August and September and beyond!

I’d say at this point my main aim is to tone the mum tum a bit! What can I do in 4.5 weeks for this….?

Yetanotherusername2000 · 27/06/2025 07:47

Fantastic stories to read.
congratulations @TryingMJ

I've treated myself to new bra/pants from boody in the sale and it makes me happy!
