Anyone starting Mounjaro this weekend?

Is anyone else starting Mounjaro this weekend and fancies a support thread please join along.

I did my first injection tonight. I absolutely hate needles but found it surprisingly ok, think my last pregnancy & a complicated birth has made me a little less sensitive!

Top work everyone !

DW won employee of the year, and this week was the prize. We had 5 days in Germany, all expenses paid. Michelin starred restaurants, as much booze as you could drink etc. Amazing.

And I lost another 1.5lbs.
Even more amazing !

Well done everyone, it’s nice to read how well everyone is doing.

Week 3 weigh in and average before breakfast sugars. 3lbs off this week which I’m thrilled at:

SW 16.11
CW 16.1
10lbs total loss

SS 11.0
CS 8.42
Still high but on a downward trend. Hopefully this will keep going down.

I’ve been put on the 5mg jab for the next month. My GP is happy with my progress so far. So am I!

Hi all just a quick query! Looking at possibly starting WLI but was wondering how pushy GPs have been about exercise and joining weight loss groups? I work part time, have two small children and not much disposable income so not much opportunity to get to the gym 😬 I do walk a lot but I don't want to be turned down if I can't commit to the exercise requirements... Any advice greatly appreciated!

Someone else may have answered this but my DH had spinal injury so not much exercise, he has BMI 36. Dr said he should have it, went for appointment and they rejected and said he needs to send proof of joing something like ww. Thinking of signing him up to £5 per month for couple of months and trying again

WildCoffeeDrinker · 28/06/2025 09:39

Asda online pharmacy didn't ask for anything like that, so may be worth trying them?

hope1000 · 28/06/2025 11:50

I think getting it through the GP the guidelines are strict. Whereas paying the higher prices and getting it online the guidelines are less restrictive.

Week 4 day 1 weigh day today! Lost only 2lbs this week. Total lost over 3 weeks is 10.5lbs. Am pleased with that. Felt better this week on the reduced 1.75mg dose. I felt more hungry at meals times and have eaten properly. Very full after meals and no food noise. Even got some walking, and gardening in. Might increase to 2.5mg this and see how I go. If I feel awful this week I’ll drop to 2mg next week and gradually work up. The nausea was getting me down on the 2.5mg.

Well done to everyone’s weigh ins. I actually feel great! Getting a nice shape now, and feel more comfortable in my clothes. Gone down a size in clothes too.

DoingItForTheKids25 · 29/06/2025 09:46

I'm on week 4 day 1 (forgot to do my jabs so doing them one day late) and I'm now 11lbs down from my starting weight! Happy with that 😁 hope everyone else is doing well

I started a year ago this week and I’m 5st down and, maintaining for 2 months. Best decision I have made.

Eat sensibly - protein and fruit and veg
make sure to have a portion of fibre daily
take collagen for your skin
moisturiser is your friend
jerky and protein bars are great for days out
avoid chips and fries as they will make you 🤢
and drink electrolytes

Hiya, just out of interest ....
what dosage did you go up to?
Did you experience nausea or other symptoms at each dosage increase?
Now you've been maintaining your (impressive 👍) weight loss for 2 months are you on any dosage at all?
Did you take up any regular exercise?
TIA 😁

@DoingItForTheKids25Nearly a stone within a month!!! That’s amazing. Well done.

Saw my GP for something unrelated and he said it’s a total wonder drug.

I over indulged massively on the weekend and I’m suffering for it now. A huge dinner yesterday plus two glasses of red wine and I’ve been actively having to avoid throwing up this morning. Since starting I’ve been solely on protein veg/salad so this has been a shock to the system. I feel horrific. Lesson learned!!!

Oh you poor thing. Cant imagine how rough you're feeling!
How's everyone doing in the heatwave? I cannot wait for it to cool down tomorrow we've had 32 degrees today and me and the kids have just been wiped out.
I'm still doing 5:2 which i think is contributing to my losses as whilst I am eating significantly less every day and not snacking or having treats etc, towards the end of the week where the jabs are wearing off I'm definitely more susceptible to food noise (had a nandos takeaway on Friday night oh the shame!)

Also wondering if i made a mistake as I've got 2.5mg for my next month and now thinking I should've gone for 5mg as I'm definitely thinking about food more than the first week or two. Or am I overthinking it? Idk argh!

i find the weeks are different as sometimes I feel hungry but when I go to eat I change my mind or if I do eat something l shouldn’t it really makes me feel green 🤢.

Im week 4 day 4 and I still feel nauseous most days, it gets better as the week goes on but seriously am struggling especially in this heat. I don’t understand why I haven’t adjusted to it yet, I felt so ill since day 1, Miss being me and doing fun things. Struggle to get up and it wipes me out totally. Anyone else feel like this?

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 01/07/2025 09:54

@hope1000 omg you poor thing. I definitely haven't felt like that. Tiredness yes , non productive yes, but not the non stop nausea. That is just debilitating.

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 01/07/2025 09:58

I am half way through my 4th week, I haven't lost any weight since Thursday hoping the next few days will give me a pound or two.

I have the 5mg pen in my fridge ready for Thursday evening. I am out on Friday, an out of the area biggish night with friends so am debating between just taking 2.5 or 3.75 from it but don't think I will do the 5 just in case it makes me feel rough. I have been reading up on how to do it and it is all about counting clicks! After that first week part dose, I will then go to the full dose.

How is everyone else doing?

Cooler here today PHEW!

ForgottenFairy · 01/07/2025 14:12

After my 2nd weigh day, I haven't lost a thing, ( 6lbs first week) I think I'll go up to the 5 on next order, noticed suppression not as strong but have been still eating healthy.

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 01/07/2025 14:16

@ForgottenFairy that happened to me in the second week in fact I put on a pound.
The third week felt stronger again for me..weirdly.

TouchOfSilverShampoo · 02/07/2025 07:14

@DoingItForTheKids25On the other side of the coin, I’ve gone straight to 5mg and I’m wondering whether I’ve done the right thing!! I’m scared of side effects when I’ve done ok so far. Although I guess you don’t know until you try!!

@hope1000Sorry that you’re still feeling so poorly. Long term that can’t be sustainable, even for your mental health. Can you do 1.25mg instead and see how you go?

@ForgottenFairyAre you about to start your period or anything like that? I stall when it’s that time of the month and suddenly it drops off.

ForgottenFairy · 02/07/2025 10:59

Nope, I'm 57 lol. I had apple pie and custard last night and I'm a pound lighter this morning 🤣

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 02/07/2025 18:19

@DoingItForTheKids25 have you been ok on the 5, when did you start that dose?

YepIChangedMyNameForThis · 03/07/2025 17:21

Today was weigh in day.
Just 1lb off this week. So a 9lb loss today after 4 weeks. I'm pleased with that.

hope1000 · 03/07/2025 22:55

Week 4 day 6
After looking at my little spreadsheet that I have created I have noticed that I feel so much better on days 5,6&7 every week but absolutely awful days 2,3 &4. So I’m going to persevere this journey with hope that it gets better next pen! Fingers crossed.

@YepIChangedMyNameForThis well done! Any loss is a loss and all adds up! I was thinking if I stopped for a couple of weeks and start again would I lose the magnificent 8lb again in the first week again?? Haha what was so magic about the first dose? Or is it a conspiracy theory that the first dose does that to make you stick with it? Fingers crossed the second pen does the same on its first jab! 🤣

@ForgottenFairythe thought of apple pie and custard sounds delicious however the thought of eating anything yummy like that makes me feel ill. This is the longest I’ve ever gone without wine, chocolate, cakes and biscuits. Can’t stomach any of it.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that the big initial losses are water weight although who knows if there's any truth to it.

I had a tiny piece of chocolate cake today, first time since starting jabs. It was to celebrate my DD's achievement though so she'd have been cross if I'd said no! They had Domino's for tea whilst I resisted (makes me feel sick now the idea of eating a slice nevermind a whole pizza like I used to put away!)

I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow as it'll be exactly 4 weeks since starting.

W4 - did my last jab in the pen last night, weighed this morning and I’m at a 14lbs loss for the first four weeks which I’m really pleased with. Very little loss this week compared to the first but hey, it’s actual fat now right?!

i used a syringe to measure 3.75mg so it wasn’t such a huge jump to 5mg next week. Feeling very tired today and a slight belly ache but I know if I eat clean today it’ll pass.

Determined to get back on the exercise while it’s not so hot and muggy, I feel like that’ll be key for me being able to come off mounjaro eventually is good exercise habits. Long way to go but let’s see.

I’ve got an event tomorrow which involves usually a load of food and drinks and I really CANT BE ARSED but that’s probably the jab talking. I’ll just go and take it easy.

DoingItForTheKids25 · 04/07/2025 07:58

End of week 4 weigh in
SW - 95.9kg
CW - 88.8kg
So 7.1kg loss in a month! Just over a stone. Pretty happy with that tbh and psychologically its nice to see an '8' on the scales!

End of week 4 weigh day and I’ve lost 12.5 lbs in 4 weeks. (Haven’t had full amount of 2.5mg) as trying to help the nausea. I’m pleased with that loss 😀 I have lost a size in clothes and need new bra’s and knickers. A good excuse to treat myself.

The weight is slowing down around 2lb a week now (first week was obviously a lot more). I need to drink more as I’m waking up really thirsty and had a few headaches. Nausea has gone last few days so I feel that from day 4 is my window to exercise before next jab.

Well done to everyone else!
