Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

We're high on protein, low on carbs, upping the water and getting the fibre in any which way we can!

Can’t remember if you’ve ever been tested but needing to get up in the night to pee, and urgency to pee are both symptoms of high blood sugar. One of the first signs of pre-diabetes that most people get. Mine stopped almost immediately when I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes and put on Insulin. Before, by the time I started to feel like I needed to go to the toilet it was almost too late and was a rush to get there in time.

That’s interesting. I was diagnosed as pre diabetic (that’s what sent me on this MJ journey) and used to pee several times in the night. For the past five weeks since I started the injections I’ve cut out all refined sugar and have only been to the loo once during the night.

I had a test when being referred to T3 weight management services by the doctor in March and I was on the higher side of normal but normal

I was getting up continuously in the night before as well but mine was severe sleep apnea

@Cantwaituntiltheyareover I will be so happy to get to overweight status - well done!
I'm feeling a bit despondent today, as the weight loss seems to have stalled. Nothing lost in the past week (still 100.3kg!). I'm still only on 5mg (I started MJ at the end of Jan), so I think I may need to increase the dose. I've been aiming for 1400 calories, have upped my protein and water intake, but the scales haven't moved. I did my jab this morning and did another 10 clicks, so I think that's just less than 6mg. Hoping to get 7.5mg for my next pen, if prescriber agrees. I do get pretty bad nausea and reflux for a few days.
Sorry for the moan, just feeling sorry for myself!

RobinEllacotStrike · 24/06/2025 14:19

I've stalled too @Ditsy79 - I can't seem to get below 90kg. I've been sitting in the low 90kg's for weeks now.

I have lost a lot (34 kg) so I understand my body might be resting/recaliberating.

But I think for the next stage of this process I'm going to have to make more of an effort to calorie count etc.

I've got ChatGPT to generate a meal plan for me including my pomegranates, 🥝🥝, greek yoghurt. It's great as I even get a shopping list. Next time I shop I will use that & follow it for a while to see how/if things change.

Pumpkinforever · 24/06/2025 18:01

Having started in November I am now considering moving up to 10mg. Wondering if that will give me a boost or whether I should stick with 7.5mg. I am hoping to shift another stone and a half and to start maintenance end of September.

Is anyone else up at the giddy heights of 10?

Darlinghag · 24/06/2025 18:12

Stalls always feel like an age, don’t they!!

I might do the chatgpt thing for a menu and shopping list, my shopping keeps shooting up in price and I do seem to have an issue with buy lots of fresh because I’m motivated and as its just me, not being able to use it all uo adequately!

My losses the last 8 weeks gave been pretty low with all I have had on - maybe half a stone total, and half of that was over a very short period. But, I’m seeing a change in my ‘wobble’ again. My body has had a couple of periods where my fat seems to get squishy and softer, and its not loose skin! And I’m have another! Noticing it today, things are very pliant, hoping its a sign of another woosh coming.

I think I’ve got a lot more to go though, really felt by now I would have lost it everywhere except my belly - but crikey, plenty little pockets of it all over, calves, back roll, outer thighs 😒. I can’t see it being less than 4.5stone to see me slim at this rate! I did say last year I thought it would take me to end of 2025, but given the rate this year so far, its going to be another year at least I think!!

👋 yes I’m on 10mg and have been for a few months. I’m thinking of trying 7.5mg this week as I’ve felt a bit wobbly lately (may or may not be MJ related) but also I have about a stone to go now and I’m getting curious about how much of my current eating behaviour is me and how much is the drug iykwim. So I’m beginning to think about maintenance, and whether I will need to stay on MJ. Although it’s a bit premature because I’m sure this last stone will take an absolute age to shift.

I am so disappointed to see that MN and MedExpress have obviously signed a massive advertising deal. There are ads on every board I've looked at today.

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/06/2025 18:29

@Darlinghag I notice my belly getting particularly marshmallowy and floofy just before a nice drop. I’ve been hitting the salads a lot more this last week or so with the extra warmth. I just buy a pack of little gem lettuces, chop them up then throw in sliced up pickled beetroot, Jalepenos, cherry tomatoes and whatever else I have in the bottom of the fridge. I make up a big Tupperware of it then have it as a side with whatever protein DH and DS are having. So tonight it’s taco meat and salad, yesterday it was paprika chicken breast and salad.

i find myself enjoying pickled and spicy foods a lot more now, the stronger the better. I think because I’m eating less in general I want stronger flavours that linger longer.

Pumpkinforever · 24/06/2025 19:29

@gimmemounjaro I was thinking maybe a couple of months on 10 and then to slowly come down.

I have my Oushk maintenance chat early October. For the current hot spell though I switched to Pharmulous as I can pick up my pen from them directly.

Noticed their ads too. Also that is a really odd thread about them "allegedly" advising a patient to use syringes....... Where the OP is ignoring posts and avoiding saying exactly what they "allegedly" said. I still don't believe they said it, no pharmacy is that stupid.........surely.

Too many on the wind up threads on this board recently.

If I thought that there was any chance at all that that poster is telling the truth I’d report MedExpress to the regulator myself. I think it’s pretty clear that they are not a reliable narrator!

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/06/2025 20:04

Oh dear, which thread do I need to avoid? I’m struggling to (a)not post on these threads of stupidity (b) hold back my opinions, remain polite and not just lay out in plain English all the reasons they’re stupid.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 24/06/2025 20:20

@InfoSecInTheCity it feels like half the board is worth avoiding these days but this specific one is ‘double dose by error’.

OnwardsDownwards · 24/06/2025 20:37

Well, today I have learned that I cannot eat a tuna melt panini on MJ. I agreed to a cafe lunch but the menu was very limited, I should have just had a coffee and waited until home! Have just powered through a gym workout feeling unbelievably nauseous, so feeling absolutely rotten but also quite happy with myself.

I basically only post on this thread now. Every time my finger automatically hits the “active” button I tell myself off and close the window!

Cantwaituntiltheyareover · 24/06/2025 20:51

I've just looked at that thread because basically I am nosy!! I use medexpress and they forgot my Needles this time so I emailed them. Below is screenshot of reply but they are essentially saying wait until they come, due to demand, or they will refund the cost of the Needles and advising me which Needles, not syringes, to buy at a chemist. OP on that post says she has been working nights and is tired....so quite possible she got the same email and read it wrong...not necessarily an error by medexpress.

Where is the thread? I couldn’t see it (also nosy!).

alltablenochair · 24/06/2025 21:01

@Pumpkinforever I'm on 12.5.
Not entirely sure if it's as effective as it needs to be but I have been on 12.5 for 4 months now. I still have a long way to go though so not wanting to move up too early.

If it’s helpful at all, I’ve found that when in a cafe/restaurant and needing to eat something in order to be sociable or whatever, when there is no good option there is pretty much always a ‘side salad’ option in the sides menu. I just have that with a bit of salad cream to flavour it up a bit, generally really cheap and Id rather have a smaller than necessary meal and then supplement with a snack when I get home than eat something with loads of calories or that will make me feel ill and I’m not going to enjoy.

I generally don’t even look at the mains anymore, I just look at starters and sides, at Frankie & Bennys I had buffalo hot wings from the starter menu and herb & garlic roasted tenderstem broccoli from the sides menu, it was delicious, less than 500 calories and just the right size.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 24/06/2025 21:12

Hi all, not been here a while. Found myself on it a bit to much so snatching back some non screen time. I do really enjoy reading about how you are going and a lovely comfort knowing you are all here.

It's been a good few weeks on 7.5mg
I actually did 6.5, 7 and then 7.5. Side effects ok and grateful for the MJ cool feeling in this heat.
I got under my 110 target earlier than planned whoop whoop.
Now 108.9 kg with a BMI 36…. Approaching that great bench mark as under the NHS cut off of 35 (I have been told, sorry if your BMI over 35 you can't access x before & it's stuck with me).
This is the lightest I have been since having children 13 years ago. I got to this weight in 2020 with alot of effort but lockdown saw me pile it back on again.

Feeling better, looking slimmer but struggling with what clothes actually look nice & suit me right now. Hiding in big baggy clothes is not a good look & struggle know what size I am. I think 18ish.

Anyway, summer holiday in 9 weeks.
I am hoping to hit the 100kg mark by then or as close as I can.
Anyway, hoping you are all doing well too xx

I think I’ve just completely lost any and all patience with the following groups in particular:

  • I’ve not eaten anything except half a grape in the last 2 weeks now I feel dizzy. Is the dizziness because of MJ?
  • Ive been taking MJ for 3 weeks, haven’t changed my diet at all, have eaten 6 sharing bars of Cadbury a day and I’ve gained weight why aren’t I losing weight I thought MJ was meant to be a miracle magic bean solution???
  • I have lied through my teeth to get prescribed MJ, faking my pictures by slumping wearing layers and sticking my belly out, telling them I’m shorter than I really am and putting weights in my shoes and pockets to trick the scales. I’m also doubling by dosing myself twice a week and buying from 2 pharmacies, I feel really ill though. What can I do to stop the nausea, diarrhoea and my brains leaking out of my nose?
  • I got MJ from the really reputable woman I know on Facebook who sells tanning nasal sprays and does Botox from her shed, I really desperately wanted this to work but despite taking it religiously for 2 weeks I haven’t lost any weight yet and she said I’d be losing a stone a week, so not sure what to do now. Help!!

I have to hold myself back from typing my thoughts in a stream of consciousness style rant about stupidity.

Yes!!! I agree. And they’re the ones The Daily Wail write about and people believe!!

Crikeyalmighty · 24/06/2025 21:34

@InfoSecInTheCity ha, ha - that made me laugh - I’ve come off it and gone back to strict cal counting and more exercise, although I would take again if I wasn’t still losing ( but I am) - I was really honest though and dated to say I didn’t like the heartburn even on 2.5 and eating a very bland mix of variations of cottage cheese, chicken breast, eggs, Greek yoghurt etc . I actually like spicy food even if I have small quantities of it - and don’t get food noise so for me on reflection I think I will be ok without it - just need to keep consistency and not give up - I’m a stone and a half down so far from April- however as you say there were some silly comments about that too - and I didn’t like the cultish feel - I do however like the underlying principles of the diet . I do like following the threads though , because it’s good to see how others are getting on and tips on diet etc
