Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

We're high on protein, low on carbs, upping the water and getting the fibre in any which way we can!

DH insisted on taking a photo when we visited a particular favourite shop of mine in Paris last October and again last month. Hate having my photo taken but couldn’t get over how much of difference MJ has made!
Thank you all for your wonderful inspiration 🥰

@lifetheuniverseandeverything42 hope your PT session goes well. I love mine, I focus on weights rather than cardio and I come away buzzing 💪

Thank you so much for the lovely comments @Sam187 & @RobinEllacotStrike 🥰 I feel so much better even though I have a way to go (hopefully!).
I am so grateful to everyone who has posted on these Mounjaro threads and gave me the confidence to try for myself. It really has been life changing! 🙏

Thank you all for your lovely comments. DH often jokes that I am past my sell by date. I'll show him this thread next time he starts!

Seeing as I have spent the last 9 months complaining about the cold, today it's the heat that's getting to me. I live in Scotland ffs, it's not supposed to be 25 degrees here. For the first time ever I am too hot.

InfoSecInTheCity · 19/06/2025 17:33

Been about 28 degrees here today, I am loving the heat for the first time ever. Usually I’m uncomfortable and mardy in the heat wondering how anyone can like it, so this year is a revelation. I also have half a tan, just on the front half of my body 😂 from sitting outside with my work laptop whenever I have a conference call that doesn’t require video.

@mince3point14159265 looking amazing, such a significant difference in those 2 photos.

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/06/2025 17:39

I went to the beach for 20 minutes each side and a quick dip at lunchtime. I'm in SE and it was lovely here today.

I'm just thankful to have got through the day without putting a jacket on.

Had noro over last weekend and felt dreadful, and it has taken a good week to get over it. But down 7.1kg in total now, after about 9 weeks. So thrilled about the total loss and really feeling pleased. Still on 5mg so will see how I go. Really appreciate reading about everyone who is doing so well, its very motivating!

mince3point14159265 · 19/06/2025 23:28

Poor you @Hotflushesandchilblains , not a nice way to lose weight 😢 Glad you're feeling better now 💐

QueenOfHiraeth · 20/06/2025 16:35

I think it was on this thread I said I would report back after my asthma check.
I confessed to not using my inhalers as an experiment but explained about my weight loss and nurse could not have been more positive. She said the practice are totally in support of MJ as long as used sensibly and it has been a game-changer for a lot of their patients. She agreed asthma can be greatly improved, although not sure if it was the medication or the weight loss, and suggested carry on without inhalers for now and just restart if I reach a point where I feel I need them.
She was really positive about the improvements in health they are seeing 😊

mince3point14159265 · 20/06/2025 18:46

That's brilliant @QueenOfHiraeth ! Just another amazing positive side effect of this medication ❤️

Quick question: I had to travel today by train for 5 hours and had a new MJ pen in my suitcase. It was wrapped in bubble wrap in a cool bag with a couple of small freezer pads in. When I got here and unpacked it, the two pads had melted almost completely and the pen wasn't cold to the touch. I'm not sure if I should be worried? It's in the fridge now. I'm hoping it will be okay as I can't imagine it got all that hot inside the cool bag. On the other hand, it definitely wasn't icy cold as it is when they are packed and posted. Thoughts? Should I chuck it?

SilenceInside · 20/06/2025 18:56

I wouldn’t chuck it, as it’s very unlikely to have got as warm as 30 degrees. Are you planning on using it this week?

I've got one more dose of current pen so it will be the week after. I'm working away for six weeks so I was aiming for the pens to last until I get back...

SilenceInside · 20/06/2025 19:13

I think that would be fine, I would certainly use a pen that was in a cool bag with ice packs even if it wasn’t super cold when you put it in the fridge. It must have been cold for at least half the journey time or longer. The ice packs weren’t completely melted either. It can’t possibly have got to higher than 30 degrees, and I think it unlikely to have been over the 8 degree mark, and even if it was it wouldn’t have been for very long. So all in all I’d use it as you planned.

taylorswift1989 · 20/06/2025 19:24

Thanks, that's reassuring! I think it will be okay and would rather take the risk than chuck £150 worth of MJ out!!

alwaysscared · 20/06/2025 22:12

NSV for me yesterday (as the scales are now saying I’m 6lbs heavier than my lightest 🙄) I was in a local shop looking at bikinis (we have a nice big pool up in the garden at the moment) and the lady there said that they only order them to size. She said she measures everyone and orders the pieces separately. It was too hot yesterday and I couldn’t be bothered being measured (also, very expensive and didn’t want to spend a lot) she said she could usually do a rough estimate by eye. She said that my boobs are GG (still massive), but then she said ‘you have a small back, I’m going to say a 36’ !! I couldn’t believe it! I told her that is the nicest thing anyone has said to me for a long time 😂😂. I think I was wearing size 36 back when I was in my 20’s!!

Zebracat · 20/06/2025 22:39

Ha, that is nice @alwaysscared . I got my waist measured today for my new pen and it had gone up by 2 centimetres😭don’t know how! I don’t quite know how to marry the 2 sets of figures. I weighed over a kilo more on their scales, but it was evening. I guess I shouldn’t worry. Officially I lost over 4 kilos in the last 4 weeks, and that’s fine. I intentionally ate more because I don’t want any more attacks of gout. I’ve stayed on 5 mg even though a few snacks have crept in. Ive given myself a talking to about that. And my weight, on my scales in stones now starts with a 14. Very pleasing. I’ve been quite confused lately by talk about inflammation, but I now think I was really suffering with it, and that has significantly reduced. I’ve halved my painkillers, my feet and hands don’t swell. My blood pressure is nearly too low, I can walk for 2 or 3 kilometres without pain. Some of that is also about dragging slightly less weight around. I think on this thread, we mostly are concerned for our health, and looking nice is a bonus.

alwaysscared · 20/06/2025 22:45

@Zebracat some great NSVs there! Well done you! It’s great that your health is improving.

TwoBlueFish · 20/06/2025 22:54

Took my first 5mg jab today, hoping that the weight loss will be a little more. I have lost some cm’s which all seem to have come off my boobs!

CW 105kg (16st 7.5lbs)
SW 107.6kg (16st 13lbs)
TL 2.6kg (5.5lbs)

MooBaggage · 21/06/2025 06:19

Coming home from holiday day today - will be very grateful for aircon in the car!

I've had a fantastic week - have definitely eaten bigger portions, had more carbs and drank more alcohol, but not to excess and I haven't had/wanted any sweets/chocolate, which is miraculous! I'll weigh myself on Monday and must admit I'm apprehensive - but trying to tell myself a week of going back to basics will be all I need to get back to my usual pattern and that all won't be lost..!
