I love the photos . Thank you both so much for putting them up. Maybe I will be brave enough one day, and have something to show!

MooBaggage · 18/06/2025 18:39

I'm posting this because I hope it gives hope to those of us who have lots to lose! I've lost 50lbs and am about halfway there to my ultimate goal.

I had a huge NSV moment yesterday - my boyf took a photo of me with my Mum and brother and I genuinely was so shocked at how different I look - even with 50 - 60lb still to lose. I have a shape - a waist..!

I've posted the photo, along with my first MJ photo taken in Jan 2025. Obviously they are different shots and different clothes, but I am so shocked/pleased at the difference - even though I still have loads to go.

It's a long journey - will be 18 months in total for me, assuming all goes well. Then a lifetime of not piling it back on - but photos like yesterday's are giving me hope. I was in tears, embarrassingly - it's one of the first photos in my adult life I actually like of me...

#whenwilltheboobsgothough?! 😬

Ooh congrats great progress! We just have to keep plodding along last week was the first time I looked in the mirror and saw a difference and I'm at 98.5lbs with still 140lb+ to go.

There's that "toilet roll theory" basically comparing seeing weight loss progress the same as a toilet roll. You take a few sheets off a full roll and you won't see a difference you do it at the end and it'll be noticeable

Inspired by Moo’s fab pics:

Black inside out underwear picture was about a month after starting. I was on holiday & Dd & I were laughing about my traffic light tan. underwear no longer fits.

Yellow dress is 34kilos lighter.

I should have taken proper pics. you cant see how many double chins I have lost.

Ah well ….

Awesome 👏👏👏

NervyWegovy · 18/06/2025 20:44

I do think i didn't really drink enough last week. Back in the garden today and made sure to drink more plain water as well as my usual tea 3litres down and haven't really gone to the toilet.

MooBaggage · 18/06/2025 21:05

RobinEllacotStrike · 18/06/2025 19:36

My BMI was 41 in before pics & 30.5 in the yellow dress.

My BMI was 43 in the first pic and 35 in the 2nd - can't wait to have one that's under 30..!

Am pleased with my arms shaping up - that's entirely down to the handweights, which I definitely recommend to anyone starting out 💪

Look at the amazing difference @MooBaggage and @RobinEllacotStrike ! It's so inspiring to see.

@InfoSecInTheCity it's so true about photos. I was talking earlier on the March starters thread about giving myself a boost looking back at pics from April versus today, when I simply don't see it to the same degree looking in the mirror.

AnneinEdinburgh · 18/06/2025 22:30

@MooBaggage, @RobinEllacotStrike you both look amazing, well done inspirational women! I had a bit of an NSV today despite still plateauing, I looked in a mirror at my face and thought I looked pretty. I am 60 and I now look back at my young photos and think I looked pretty then but I never felt it. My mumwas always telling me to.hold my bay window in (as she called my perfectly normal sized kids tummy). I ended up looking after my very difficult bipolar mum for 13 years and got bigger and bigger and more and more unhappy. Mum died last year and since then I have gone on my. Lost 4 stone (about same again to go) and feel so much better. If I had done this with her still alive she would have claimed it and it would have failed because she woukd have made it sll about her and her fat daughter. Now it's for me and it feels great! I did love her and do sometimes miss her, but I do feel lighter, freer and more me.

Onwards and downwards warrior women xx

@MooBaggage and @RobinEllacotStrike you both look amazing, the loss is very evident, you must be soo pleased. Also @RobinEllacotStrike you have a chalkboard wall!! I’ve been trying to convince my husband for years and he just can’t see how great it would be, I’m jealous!

Im a huge advocate of progress pics, you don’t need to share them but I really recommend everyone keep your photos that you’re submitting to prescribers, lock them in a hidden folder in your phone so you don’t have to look at them if you want, but you will find that one day you’ll do a side by side comparison and not believe your eyes, the photos show what your brain and the mirror struggle to process. You get used to yourself day by day and so when you look in the mirror you can’t see the full extent of the changes.

I really should have taken some photos I don't really have any full body ones from when I started as I didn't expect it to last so long and I didn't need any to get the medication as I got it through the NHS

InfoSecInTheCity · 18/06/2025 22:50

Take em now @NervyWegovy then again in a couple of months and so on. I’ve shared mine before but doing it again to illustrate the point. I honestly if asked would have said that I did not look much different because in the mirror I don’t, but it’s clear as day when I look at the pictures that I have lost weight.

My pics.
First one is of me on some ID. I think the photo was taken about 15 months ago.

The second pic was about 10 mins ago! I can def notice a change in my face. Black thing is my headrest btw- it isn't a completely wild hairstyle.

@alltablenochair there is a very definite difference in your jawline and chin, you’ve lost the double chin completely and your jawline and neck down into shoulders look much slimmer.

gimmemounjaro · 19/06/2025 00:35

Wow what strikes me is that you look so much younger @alltablenochair,
what a difference 👏👏

dimples76 · 19/06/2025 07:07

Well done, everyone!

In the past I have avoided looking at my body. But I am looking at it now and it makes me feel overwhelmed that I used to be 3.5 stones bigger and also how much further I need to go (about a third of the way there). Trying not to focus on that and just take each day as it comes but easier said than done. Trying to focus on my recently emerged collar bones and definition on my upper arms. I have my period which have become heavier with mounjaro so that is not helping.

InfoSecInTheCity · 19/06/2025 07:18

@dimples76 I had a bit of a mini breakdown the other day when I realised that in 2012 I was 123lbs heavier than I am now, that’s the weight of my 11yr old child. I was messing about playing on the park with her and felt how strong and heavy and big she is and it just suddenly hit me that I’d been carrying that weight around on my body every day, up every set of stairs, on every plod/waddle round the shops or struggle up a hill.

You are losing the weight, 3 and a half stone is a fantastic loss and something to be so proud of, the average 2 year old is 25lb so you’ve lost a 2 yr old off of your body. Just keep on keeping on and you’ll get to your goal.

InfoSecInTheCity · 19/06/2025 07:32

Sorry @dimples76 I can’t maths in the morning , you’ve lost nearly 2 x 2 yr olds

gimmemounjaro · 19/06/2025 00:35

Wow what strikes me is that you look so much younger @alltablenochair,
what a difference 👏👏

Exactly what I thought. It's taken years off you.

MooBaggage · 19/06/2025 08:28

@alltablenochair wow - your face definition is so different! Makes your lips look bigger (your lips are gorgeous!) and you definitely look younger 😍😍😍

I think it's really helpful to see photos when we're 'only' part way along the journey - yes, there's a while to go, but acknowledging the differences made already is so inspiring 💪

Pepto bismol! Hope everything settles down for you soon.

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/06/2025 10:24

@alltablenochair you are looking amazing & the change in the shape of your face & neck is clearly evident. Great work - keep going 💜

@AnneinEdinburgh your post really moved me. I love that you feel pretty & free. I feel like this is really a journey of self discovery (sorry about that 🧀), of allowing ourselves to reveal who we really are to ourselves. Being liberated from the controlling, all consuming issues around food/diet/body image etc including food noise (which really seems like a huge unexplored mental health issue for those of us who experience it) is massive - take away the food noise & accompanying mental negitive self talk, the lingering lessons & judgements of our parents voices, the demands of parenting our own kids etc, and we are left with space to ask what do I want? what do I like? what decisions do I make now I have a little more time & breathing space? how will I shape my life now? 💜

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/06/2025 11:41

Another pic. My friend sent me this and I didn’t recognise myself. I look like a normal sized person & my brain got a bit confused. I zoomed in before recognising it was me.

the hoodie I am wearing used to fit well but snuggly. It’s a men’s Xxl. Now it is way oversized. I’m wearing a towel on my bottom half as we were just out of the sauna. The slimming of my hips bum & thighs is still surprising.

I’ve just been and had an initial chat with a personal trainer and have my first proper session next week. I’m a bit nervous and now need to see if I have anything suitable to wear…. Expect I will need to buy some gym clothes. She was lovely and really positive about everything I’ve been doing so far. I just want some tips on getting me started with the right exercises and form to do work at home. I can’t really justify the cost of going every week. I may go back for ad hoc sessions as I get better.

@alltablenochair your beautiful face is emerging from its cocoon! Agree with everyone else how much younger you look! ❤️

Timetofindme · 19/06/2025 13:57

Arghhhhhh. Why have curate decided to ship my order (approved over the weekend) on the hottest day EVER (ok slight exaggeration). Now stressing about whether it will actually arrive cold or whether I'll have a fight on my hands when it arrives. Last check it said shipping Monday which wouldn't have been so bad as it's significantly cooler then. Fingers crossed!
