Thread EIGHT - blimey we talk a lot! 😄 Anyone using weight loss injections to lose more than 5st/30lbs is very welcome, no matter what stage of the process you are no.

We're high on protein, low on carbs, upping the water and getting the fibre in any which way we can!

Oh dear @alwaysscared , that is annoying. Dropping to 5 sounds a good idea. @MooBaggage hope the holiday is going well.

MooBaggage · 16/06/2025 16:58

It's glorious weather in Cromer and am having a lovely time, thanks 😊

I'm not feeling any need to snack or eat more than or differently to usual, but I am having a couple of Pimms every evening, which is ace 😬

Doing lots of walking every day though, which I hope is redressing the balance slightly!

That is a pain @alwaysscared - you psych yourself up for these things, then a 2 month delay :-( Swearing is understandable.

I am in Onederland, at last. 3 pounds off after my stagnation - and my scales are reporting another notch off my visceral fat, so well pleased at that. Water levels and protein levels going up too.

SW: 18 stone 11 (263lbs)
CW: 14 stone 1 (197 lbs)

Just 4 pounds to go to hit the 5 stone mark. Still averaging half a stone a month which, while relatively slow, suits me fine.

MabelSpan · 16/06/2025 17:43

Hello everybody! I hope you are all well.

Just hopping on quickly to log my stats.
SW 20st 3lbs Aug 2024
WL 1.4lbs (average loss 1.7cals per week.)
CW 14st 13.8lbs! (I may only have scraped into the 14st bracket but I havent seen that number for over 26yrs!)
GW 11st 7lbs hoping to get here by June 2026. That will give me a BMI of 23.6. I might reassess this goal as I get closer.

I cant believe I now have 3st 7lbs to lose, that seems mad and even madder is that it really feels achievable! Woohoo onward I go!😊

Zebracat · 16/06/2025 18:58

Great figures @NewbieMJ and @MabelSpan . Gives me hope. Glad you are enjoying your holiday @MooBaggage . We are having some coastal days next week, no doubt it will be freezing and wet. I have a nsv of sorts. Wearing a favourite dress today, just a vneck shift, and I’ve just realised that the v now gapes so much I can see down to my belly button. Better change, I’m going to my hobby tonight, don’t want to upset anyone. It is a bit upsetting though because it’s cherry red and cheerful. Seem to remember reading that in obese people, going down a dress size was about 3 stone, or 20 kilos, and I’ve lost 11, maybe it’s more variable, but I didn't expect clothes to be too big just yet.

NewbieMJ · 16/06/2025 19:11

@Zebracat That's great! Although your red dress sounds lovely.

Sizes are so strange. I am noticing a big shift now (was slow at first) and I'm now in a comfortable size 18 (from a 22/24). I have another 46 pounds to lose, so now idea what size I will end up at. I have in my head a size 14 will be grand, but will see how it goes.

NervyWegovy · 16/06/2025 20:00

I said on a post earlier that I knew id be disappointed with this weeks weight loss and I am! 0.5lb when for four days I've been putting blood sweat and tears into the garden several hours a day destoning the garden. Im sunburnt and itchy and my voice is going.

I was still expecting a 3-4lb loss as has been natural to me on weeks where I've been serious about my diet. Gutted to be honest

alltablenochair · 16/06/2025 20:31

I'm definitely beginning to notice things a lot more now. I adjusted the seat width of my wheelchair to reduce it by 2 inches which worked for a while.
No amount of contoured cushions and side supports can account for the fact that it's surprisingly difficult to actually sit up at times, especially when your seat is now getting a bit roomy! So now I have 2 half inch spacers reducing the width of my chair even more (I like a snug fit)

Since starting MJ my bum has shrunk by 3 inches across!

@NervyWegovy pardon me for asking but do you still have a menstrual cycle? (only asking because I know some people on here are post-meno). You may find that your weight loss fluctuates along with your cycle. My weight loss is anything but linear. Although I am losing weight most weeks, when I charted it it looked more like a series of speed bumps than a straight line. Screenshot I've used previously and from my old data illustrates this point well- it's BMI data btw.

Have you been drinking enough water to replace the sweat (blood and tears)? You might be dehydrated.

OnwardsDownwards · 17/06/2025 09:29

On sizes - I didn’t notice any change, then decided my jeans were a bit baggy and was shocked that I needed to go down two sizes! I don’t think there’s really a predictable ratio of weight loss : size loss.

I’ve been stuck in bed with the flu for three days. Feeling awful still. Was planning on going up from 3.75 to 5 today but think I’d better stick at 3.75 for another week. Not weighing until I’m feeling better either.

HumBumBum · 17/06/2025 10:01

It just said on This Morning that the optimum waist size for women is less than 31.5 inches, which I am not (yet). I’m adding it to my list of NSVs!

SilenceInside · 17/06/2025 10:04

I think waist size, waist/height ratio and waist/hip ratio is something I need to consider once my BMI is in the healthy range. It makes sense to me to continue with weight loss until all, or as many as possible, of those health metrics are in the normal range.

Zebracat · 17/06/2025 10:22

31.5 ? Crikey, mines gone from 47 to 41, but I doubt if I could even get to 36, there doesn’t seem to be that much spare flesh. Ive never had a waist, even when thin, just not shaped like that. I always wonder where all the organs go!

Evenstar · 17/06/2025 13:17

Even as a teenager I had a 28 inch waist so I don’t think I will be getting a 31.5 waist!

alwaysscared · 17/06/2025 13:49

Anyone tried Fu:di granola? It’s a keto granola. Just ordered some to have instead of oats as they are so high carb. I have gone for a cocoa flavour and a spiced biscuit flavour. Bit pricey mind! Macros are really good though.

HumBumBum · 17/06/2025 14:21

I’ve been on this 9 months and started with a 43 waist, I’ve lost 10inches (with 70lbs). I’d like to lose another 30/40 lbs so feel like the optimum waist size is possible from this point. No time limit, just when I can!

Optimum based on what?

QueenOfHiraeth · 17/06/2025 14:36

I think it's great to have goals like an optimum waist size (presumably that's for health and risk reduction rather than appearance?) but some of us may never achieve that, especially post-menopause. My hourglass waist got up and left around the same time as my get-up-and-go Grin

alwaysscared · 17/06/2025 14:58

Where do we measure our waist? At the smallest bit or the hips? Yes, I’m stupid

Fortiesmum · 17/06/2025 15:11

I'm on Mounjaro. Started a month ago on 2.5mg and just taken my first dose of 5mg on Sunday
Finding it amazing for stopping my cravings for chocolate!
But I stalled last week and didn't lose anything. Now 2lbs down since going onto the 5mg on Sunday. How is anyone else finding Mounjaro?

I follow some guidance I saw years ago that says if you lean sideways, your waist is where you bend.

just measured mine and 33inches at the moment.

Waist is the smallest bit, hips are lower down 👍

Zebracat · 17/06/2025 15:33

I weighed 95.4 kilos this morning. That’s 10% of my body weight in almost 8 weeks. It feels significant because I keep expecting this to go wrong, but even if it did, I’ve lost that 10% doctors go on about. And I hereby vow to never top 100 kgs again.
Good luck with the keto granola @alwaysscared always scared. I hope its delicious .

not tried that but we have been getting the Surreal "high protein" cereal - it's sugar free but has, IMO, twice the amount of sweetners any human might want. Even the DC find it a bit sweet. But I have a cereal mad daughter and she likes it - its high protein, zero sugar, insanely sweet. Not for me (I've not really eaten cereal since I was a kid).

It's fine asking and in the interest of openness I'm a man so have never had a menstrual cycle. I've been on MN around 15 years I think. But I know posters don't really like it being pointed out so I try not to make a thing of it
