Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

@Kbr22 I take measurements & photos once a month.
I weight daily but only track my weight on Friday morning as my official weight for the week (to align with my jabs).

I often go up & down a lot in a week, so weekly average weight is super useful comparison, and as well the weight is overall in downward trajectory, I take it as a win. We just have to keep plodding 🤞🏼

Iggy35 · 20/06/2025 21:29

@Fatrosrhun I'm also looking to change my name. Don't find this creative enough and there are some cool names on there. Will be something with a Panda I think 😅

Fatrosrhun · 20/06/2025 18:56

Well, it’s 26 weeks until Xmas, and if you lost 2lbs a week until then you’d have lost another 3.5 stones. And I’d be very happy with that..

This is perfect. Thank you!

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 21/06/2025 07:40

Jab 7 yesterday, 2nd of 5 mg and hoping not to feel as wiped out as last week.
i seem to have reached my first plateau and all the old diet thoughts are really here with a vengeance about how nothing really works long term for me, there’s no point bothering etc, my mind is really rebelling!

At least I don’t feel interested in any sugar, alcohol or snacks or I’d certainly be off the wagon! Fingers crossed it passes soon, it’s actually only been 1 week of staying the same weight which logically I know is nothing!

Anyway, great to keep reading about all your journeys, onwards and downwards!

NowANanaxx · 21/06/2025 07:55

Can I ask what you guys are eating please 🥴 everything I seem to have flies through me, so I’ve not been eating great out of fear lol any advice would be great. I’m on 5ml and thinking about staying on this dose rather than increasing 😊

Merluzzo · 21/06/2025 08:05

I’m the same @ConfusedMiddleAger83 , 2nd 5mg jab yesterday for me too. Last weekend was a struggle with extreme nausea and exhaustion, I regretted moving up to 5mg. Also the scales haven’t moved for over a week, it’s so disheartening. I know it’s only a plateau but it’s difficult to keep going sometimes. However, on the upside I’ve no desire for alcohol and sugar which would be my normal response.

Keep going, we’re in this for the long haul and will get there. Onwards and downwards.

lissie123 · 21/06/2025 08:16

Morning Losers
Gosh after three weeks of very small and slightly disappointing losses I’ve jumped on the scales this morning and I’ve lost three pounds. I’m surprised because I’ve not done anything different. I suppose it’s the whoosh thing going on. So is it just a case of just keep going and do what you are doing and we will all get there eventually. We might have a few detours on the way but they are not going to deter us!

rox01 · 21/06/2025 08:36

Hi, I’ve been lurking for a while, very happy for everyone. :) I started 5 weeks or so ago (just taken 6th dose yesterday). Am very thankful for these threads as am taking a lot of comfort knowing some of what I’m seeing with me seems pretty normal. :)
sw : 191lbs
cw : 175lbs
gw : 120lbs

Seahorsesplendour · 21/06/2025 08:48

morning all!!

feeling good here!! Increase to 5mg has made a huge difference!

first 2 days had low level nausea but was manageable that’s gone today suppression is huge & food noise much less again!

was supposed to be weighing monthly but got too impatient so weighed & have lost 7lb this 2 weeks so really happy with that! 1st11lb down in 7 weeks and now in the obese bmi range wooohooo!!!!

also hit that magical health improving 10% loss!!

so a good start to the weekend!!!

planesick · 21/06/2025 08:59

I can't remember when I first posted. My weight loss seems to have slowed right down. BUT... I have lost 12lbs in total and I wear a pair of shorts that I couldn't fit into when I first started. So, today I feel good!
Keep going everyone, slowly onwards and downwards x
Started: 16st 5lbs
Current: 15st 7lbs

Cucumberinginplease · 21/06/2025 09:15

Morning all!
Hope all are well and managing in this heat (UK peeps anyway!).

Weekly weigh in yesterday and another 2lb. Takes me over the stone loss mark, so pleased with that!

6th jab due on Sunday and will be moving up to 5mg. I was a Friday Jabber but need to eventually be a Monday one due to weekend stuff! I can manage the side effects in the week, but hate it killing the weekends. We always have lots on and I hate not enjoying stuff because of side effects. Hoping on the move up I have nothing too extreme, the only SE i've had are nausea and a bit of tiredness, however I think I've been tired for 13 years since my eldest was conceived so that's nothing new really!!!

We have 2 big arena concerts over the next few days, one tonight and one on Monday. Not altogether too sure what I'm going to do regarding food for dinner as we'd normally grab some shity event thing like chips. We need to leave home tonight at about 4pm and wont be home until midnight and much the same in Monday. I know I could eat chips or such like, but really don't want to. I know it'll make me feel ill. I'm wondering about a late lunch and some sort of cereal bar and an apple??? Any ideas gratefully accepted!

Have a lovely weekend all 😊

SutekhsEars · 21/06/2025 09:21

This is my 2nd week of staying the same. I think I need to increase my dose a bit. I'm currently taking less than the initial dose, split into 2 mini-doses. I'm still not sleeping well, although I can't say if that's mounjaro, menopause or the heat!

Seahorsesplendour · 21/06/2025 09:23

Hope everyone manages to stay cool and has a good weekend!!

onwards & downwards!

Fatrosrhun · 21/06/2025 09:40

@Cucumberinginplease Can you take any form of picnic in? I’ve done a few events over the last few weeks and have taken a tub of hummus and carrot batons/breadsticks, mozzarella balls and tons, and philly cheese with seeded cheese biscuits. And a tub of grapes. They’ve fitted in four takeaway sized tubs so you could put two in each person’s bag. Worked well for me. The others could get chips etc too if they wanted.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 21/06/2025 09:57

The picnic idea is a really good one. I almost took a big tub of salad with me to Sam Fender but ran out of time. So I just had wine instead! Oh dear.

WK7D2 and it's weigh-in day.

SW: 17 Stone 2 / 240lbs
CW: 15 Stone 10 / 220lbs! -3 this week.
GW: 10 Stone / 140lbs

20lbs down! Woo! My bras are too big now. I feel like my stomach is smaller, I don't feel as conscious of it when I'm out and about.

I went for three walks this week at the cooler times of day. My knee hasn't popped out or given way since Monday which is amazing. I've got an MRI next week. I've been sticking at 5000 steps which seems to be fine for my knee, but need to rest it after that. Hope to increase to 6000 next week.

How are you guys coping with the heat?

Mounraine · 21/06/2025 11:04

@satatcey I agree, my head knows slow is no problem, but heart wants to be at goal. I'm fed up of the side effects and cost and battling with the desire to comfort eat. Sorry to be such a moangy sod.

I use Me360 for measurements and there are tiny losses. I might get the tape measure out before tea to measure properly.

Good to hear from @OhPolly and good news re dog.

Welcome @NowANanaxx - you're not the only secret jabber. (I've only told DP).

tostaky · 21/06/2025 11:08

Morning all! Ive just try a gym class in the local park… 🤪 I am spent! It was hard but i teally need the strenghtening and the cardio so i will go back next week (thank u MJ!)
as part of the cardio we had to run for a bit …. I used to run a lot but after three kids within 4 years and a LOT of weight gain my pelvic floor said no more running.
it was just so nice todau to jog in the park! I am really hoping that if i lose more weight i could get back to it… i really miss putting on my trainers and going for a run…
maybe that could be a NSV goal for me!
hope everyone is keeping cool today x

Mounraine · 21/06/2025 11:11

@NowANanaxx there's a thread were people post what they've eaten each day.

I generally have a first meal of Greek yogurt, berries, nuts and seeds OR a salad with salmon or tuna OR both.
Then I have a meal of whatever - stir fry, curry, chilli etc.
I generally try to increase fibre, protein and variety of plants and try to reduce UPFs.

DBatteryBand · 21/06/2025 11:16

7th jab today (3rd 5mg). I have lost 26 lbs over the last 6 weeks, which is startling. However I am really quite enormous, so I suppose it is to be expected to start with. Disappointed that my clothes still seem to fit - just how desperately was I squeezing myself into my size 22s, nearly 2 stone ago? The mind boggles. Maybe it's because the majority of my clothing is very 'forgiving' - pull on wide leg trousers and loose tops - that I haven't really noticed any change in how it all fits. I can't just have lost 26lbs from the area under my chin, alone, surely (the only area I can see any difference.) At this rate I will have a tiny little head with wispy weight-loss hair and chicken neck on top of a gigantic, bulbous body. That will look lovely.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 21/06/2025 11:36

@DBatteryBand That absurd and fantastic description made me cackle. But in a supportive way, obvs.
I've lost weight on my face and boobs, so I'm potentially heading towards lego rectangle body and itty bitty tiny head. A pigeon. That's what I shall become.

Sat in the garden making wood pigeon noises now. Send help.

Cucumberinginplease · 21/06/2025 11:39

@Fatrosrhun I've just checked and no!!! Sealed water bottles only and some no food at all! Both venues. And definate bag searches at both. (Its the utilita at Birmingham and villa park for those interested) I've been to both venues before and know that they do this too. Gah!

My husband has said he'll squirrel some cereal bars into his shorts pockets 😁

The one tonight will be in the city centre so I could probably get a subway salad on the way through and wont be getting there until about 7 so that should work. Villa Park on Monday is a bit trickier. First act is 5:30 and wont leave till 10:30, at the car by about 11 ish so definately miss a meal. Pocket cereal bar it is!

Edited

You’re not a moany sod! I’m the same - I really want to be at goal as fast as possible. Just went up to 5mg on Weds and have felt rotten ever since. I also think it’s affecting my vision (another side affect that should settle as I get used to the dose apparently). I just want to come off it as soon as possible but the head knows it’s right to be slow. Plus I have a loooooong way to go - another 4 stone at least!

in it together!

Mounraine · 21/06/2025 12:49

in it together! 🥂 onwards and downwards in Thread 4!

We actually had a picnic 🧺 in the multi-storey in Leeds before the theatre! Didn’t have time to eat before going. Just took the edge off. Have a big/late lunch before going? Then your cereal bar as emergency supplies later. Or have a burger but don’t eat the bun? (depending on how you react to food, you don’t want the trots all night!)

NowANanaxx · 21/06/2025 13:17

@Mounraine
That would be great thank you, but I’m completely new here how do i find a thread and do you know what it’s called sorry 😔
