Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Good morning. @OhPolly We'll be thinking of you and gorgeous ddog today, here if you need to chat.

Last night I lifted myself up two flights of stairs so I could get to our bedroom on the top floor and importantly, the ensuite. I had a very careful shower, got into clean clothes, did my skincare routine and dried my hair before getting into my own bed. I felt like a million dollars. It was very tiring so I've ordered a shower chair, but overall I feel so much better. I slept with one of my favourite cats tucked into the back of my knee, her favourite sleepy spot. Ahhh.

@DBatteryBand your knitting comment made me snort. Do we reckon the lack of treat food dopamine is going to drive us all to a life of crime? Or is there a happy medium between knitting and drug lord? What hobbies does everyone have?

@Mounraine Tape measure is a good idea. You must feel good from lifting? I think I could do with some weights.

Lots more to reply to but need to stop with my mega posts 😆 right, how on earth do I get down to the ground floor for a coffee...

Slide down on a tray? Only joking, you would probably damage a few more limbs on the way. Hopefully your other half brought you a coffee in bed.

Fatrosrhun · 30/05/2025 13:27

And @OhPolly thinking of you and your gorgeous dog.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 30/05/2025 13:37

I love that this just appeared in my feed and on the high protein group as well! 😂

Can I ask a really daft question - how do you know if you have injected correctly, the needle seems so small, and I have a lot of fat, how do you know it’s actually gone in far enough to get where it needs to go?

I know this sounds crazy but when thinking about vaccines and things the needle normally goes in further.

Fatrosrhun · 30/05/2025 14:04

It’s only a subcutaneous injection- which means under the skin. So it’s not deep at all compared to an intravenous or intramuscular injection that you’ve probably had before. That’s why it’s such a tiny needle and you can hardly feel it.

DBatteryBand · 30/05/2025 14:15

Is anyone else eating weird stuff they would never normally go anywhere near? In addition to my uncharacteristic salad mania, I have also developed a thing for sweetcorn. I don’t ever usually eat it but now I’m eating it all the time. Tinned or on the cob - it’s all the same to me. And chocolate milk. I would never, ever usually go anywhere near it. It’s bizarre.

Same with salads here...and actually sweetcorn, now that you mention it😅
Never have I ever fancied salads for dinner..now I have it at least 3-4 times a week

Regretting going with another 2.5mg pen as weight-loss has really slowed. This week it was less than a pound off. I've really been focusing on the weight-lifting (worried about loose skin, flat bum and metabolism). I know this always stalled the scales in the past, but it's still hard to hold your nerve. I need to get the tape measure out.

My clothes seem to be fitting better, even if I'm still in a 16, but yesterday a visiting colleague said she thought I'd lost weight.

@Mounraine try not to be disheartened - you're doing weights so you've probably built more muscle and it won't necessarily show on the scales but you'll be leaner. Your tape measure and clothes are your friends! You sound like you're on it in terms of protein and eating well etc

Mounraine · 30/05/2025 14:56

Thank you. I’m not convinced I’m building much muscle but perhaps there’s some water retention with the little muscle I’m managing 😁.

I've become addicted to salad and hard boiled eggs. Also butter beans in the salad. Prunes are now like nectar.

Have gone off cooked vegetables at the moment. Can't stomach red meat either.

Samuraipizzacat · 30/05/2025 15:01

Checking into new thread. Week 2 and have been bit by bouts of nausea when having Diet Coke or coffee. Boooooo

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 30/05/2025 15:02

I'm addicted to salads with plenty of red onion and coriander, and I've unexpectedly gone off beer altogether. Gross stuff. From 30 bottles a week to 0. It's witchcraft, I tell you!

Kipperandarthur · 30/05/2025 15:10

I've also found a new weekend treat for Saturday night. I read about it in The Guardian. It's a pretend Ferrero Rocher.

Take a date, split it in half and put in some peanut butter and then roll in sunflower seeds. Never in my life would I have thought of this but it's actually delicious.

SaintAgatha · 30/05/2025 16:17

@Kipperandarthur That sounds amazing! I’m definitely going to have to try it.

I'm amazed at how easy it's been to curb my wine and gin habit on MJ 😱

Elle771 · 30/05/2025 16:25

By habit I just mean... every Friday and Saturday to unwind.. now I'm like meh might have one might not 😱😱😅😅

Yay! Managed to escape The Great Constipation this afternoon, so am fully expecting to be an extra 5lb lighter at tomorrow morning’s weigh in! Grin

Less good news: DD has decided to make shortbread. Even with my appetite suppressed this may be challenging!

Hi - I need encouragement - I’m one week in and I’ve lost less than a pound! I feel like I’ve been eating well (whole food vegetarian / no UPFs) and less than usual but the tiredness has caused me to be less active. Has anyone else begun this way and things improved?

I put on 0.5 of a kilo at the end of week 1!! That said - it was my 60th birthday so I was out for dinner a lot, eating birthday cake and not working or going to the gym!

Week 2 I’ve cooked everything from scratch, been at the gym nearly every day, cut calories and drank gallons of water and peppermint tea. I did go out for dinner once but only had a breaded chicken salad.

so my stats;
5:2 SW 76kg
Wk1: 0.5 kg gain ie 76.5 kgs
Wk2: 75 kgs
TW: 60 kgs

I’m happy with a 1/1.5 kg loss this week as I “only” have 2.5 stone to lose and I’ve not had much suppression or side effects so I think that’s a decent start.

Seahorsesplendour · 30/05/2025 19:45

Evening everyone way too many posts to answer all!! I love how busy this thread is!!

@OhPolly & @DidILeaveTheGasOn thinking of you & hope you’re both ok! & anyone else struggling with rough patches!!

strange day here! Wk4 day 2 (got mixed up saying was jab 3 last night!! Was actually 4) had day out & had bean chilli for lunch out was yummy!

I was then obsessed with having a piece of chocolate & sultana tiffin! It looked amazing!! Promised myself I’d go back & get one before we left but by the time I could have the urge had passed! Regretting it tonight tho! 😂

tried new protein powder & really happy with the taste - expensive but lots of it!!

off to bed now with the usual day 2 exhaustion!

Ooh I was looking at the free soul stuff, I ordered one of their protein shakers. Great that it's so good!

Kidsaregrim · 30/05/2025 20:05

Week 1 Sunday 2.5
SW 17st 2
week 2 Saturday 2.5
16st 8
week 3 Friday 2.5
16st 6

Im having a ridiculous amount of suppression and barely eating and absolutely exhausted which is at its worst the first two day so have bought the jabs forward each week.
happy with 10lb down. I have been able to increase my water to 2/3 lites but I’m peeing every 2 minutes!

I’ve had an email from Asda asking me to order a second pen so I’ve stuck with 2.5 again. I think if I went to 5mg I wouldn’t be able to eat at all.

well done everyone in some great losses!

Mounraine · 30/05/2025 20:11

W5D1 and managed a 20hr fast after jabbing last night. Stuck with OMAD today at midday and then weight-lifted after work. So far so good. Then felt a bit fed up and was sooo tempted to press the Fuck It button and have takeaway or a packet of biscuits. Or both. Despite not feeling physically hungry. But I managed to resist (or I guess the MJ did). Determined to get the scales moving again this week.

(I know not everyone follows a fasting lifetime, so I hope what I've written doesn't upset anyone).

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 30/05/2025 20:12

Ooh @kidsaregrim we had the same starting weight! I'm on the same trajectory as you, love it!
