Roll up, roll up...thread 3 for the loveliest bunch of losers!

"Onwards & Downwards" has become our little motto for the days when it all feels a bit tough and that wine / chocolate / cake looks a bit too bloody tempting.

Lots of love,
Lass x

Morning everyone!

We are currently in the car on our way to the specialist animal hospital. I'm trying to keep upbeat but DDog breathing seems a bit more affected today, unless I'm just more hyper aware.

I found the blanket she came home in when we first got her so I've bought that with us. She's currently led snoozing next to me in the car and seems relatively comfortable.

I'm due my next jab tonight/tomorrow morning. Last week I did it on Saturday morning but I may bring it back to tonight. When I was previously on MJ, I always jabbed on a Friday night.

I did a cheeky weigh in this morning and I am 3.4kg/7.5lb lighter.. but my official weigh day is tomorrow.

Not too bad for my first week and I've had a couple of treats a long the way!

Hope your dog is OK lovely x

Fatrosrhun · 30/05/2025 08:56

Fingers crossed for her. How old did you say she was?

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 30/05/2025 08:58

Good morning. @OhPolly We'll be thinking of you and gorgeous ddog today, here if you need to chat.

Last night I lifted myself up two flights of stairs so I could get to our bedroom on the top floor and importantly, the ensuite. I had a very careful shower, got into clean clothes, did my skincare routine and dried my hair before getting into my own bed. I felt like a million dollars. It was very tiring so I've ordered a shower chair, but overall I feel so much better. I slept with one of my favourite cats tucked into the back of my knee, her favourite sleepy spot. Ahhh.

@DBatteryBand your knitting comment made me snort. Do we reckon the lack of treat food dopamine is going to drive us all to a life of crime? Or is there a happy medium between knitting and drug lord? What hobbies does everyone have?

@Mounraine Tape measure is a good idea. You must feel good from lifting? I think I could do with some weights.

Lots more to reply to but need to stop with my mega posts 😆 right, how on earth do I get down to the ground floor for a coffee...

SaintAgatha · 30/05/2025 09:12

Oh fab, checking in! I do name change fairly often but I’ll always be here in some form.

Tomorrow will be W5 D1 and I stayed on 2.5mg for another 4 weeks - I like the level of suppression and am happy with the way it seems to steer me towards healthier choices. I haven’t binged on chocolate once since I started this process, and yesterday I threw out leftover pizza slices as I just didn’t fancy them, which is absolutely unheard of (pizza is one of my big weaknesses).

I haven’t properly weighed as I’m trying to go by clothes size instead and not be tied to the scales, but my body shape is definitely changing and both T-shirts and jeans feel a lot looser. The true test will be my work trousers when I’m back in uniform in a few weeks.

Side effects: constipation from W3, been shovelling Psyllium husks into my face at a rate of knots.

Onwards and downwards! Thank you for the new thread @SussexLass87.

Fatrosrhun · 30/05/2025 08:56

Fingers crossed for her. How old did you say she was?

She's only 4, which makes it seem kind of worse?

She's the best dog ever- loves a good run but also happy to just cuddle up to you all day.

We are nearly there now, only 10 minutes away.

I'm feeling quite sick but I think it's a mixture of hunger and anxiety.

We won't be too far from Cheshire oaks so maybe we will go out for lunch. I need something proper in my system.

Dependent on the outcome of investigations then we may stay close by, overnight in a hotel or something. We have nothing booked or packed but I guess that's what supermarkets are good for!

They will want to sedate her for investigations and I wonder if they will allow us to be there, when they do sedate her.

Merluzzo · 30/05/2025 09:33

Sending best wishes to all those going through a tough time at the moment 💐

W2D6 here but I’m taking my 3rd jab today, I think Fridays will work better for me. I’ve just done my check in with SheMed and I’ve lost 11bs which I’m really happy with. I think that’s an average housecat!

Just wondering whether to order 5mg for my next pen. Sorry you’re feeling sick on the 5mg @SignedUpAgain. Did you feel the same with the 2.5?

dc82 · 30/05/2025 09:36

All the best for the appointment @OhPolly!

That’s me now onto week 3!
week 1 - 6lb loss
week 2 - 4lb loss

When is the right time to order next pen?? I do plan on doing the golden dose.

26dX · 30/05/2025 09:42

I ordered a 5mg pen a couple of weeks ago because of delays but think I’m still good on 2.5mg so will do that dose on Monday out of the 5 pen then if it starts wearing off will go up to 3.75.

Mytagalongs · 30/05/2025 09:42

Quickly joining in before end of May.
I have just finished week 4, total loss 10lbs, slow and steady but really pleased.
I had an extra 0.3ml of the ‘golden dose’ last week and had no side effects, I have a 5mg pen which i will start tonight!
It’s great to read through the comments, feels like a lovely community.
Hope those with side effects, injuries and poorly animals are well again soon!

Kipperandarthur · 30/05/2025 09:52

Sorry to hear of your troubles @ DidILeaveTheGasOn.
It all sounds very painful. You can do this. Sure it's a set back but stay strong.
As you say be kind to yourself and give yourself a little stroke.

No weight loss for me this week but 11lbs overall in first 3 weeks so onwards and downwards for moving up to the next pen dosage 5 on Tuesday. Hoping for very slight SEs though the constipation is annoying.

Apprenante · 30/05/2025 09:55

tostaky · 30/05/2025 05:45

Just ordered my next dose and requested for 2.5mg
im off work for two weeks but had to go in work yesterday… it sucked out all my energy and positivity… Blush No wonder if eat to comfort myself…. Id like to find a job that involves going around my garden, looking at my plants and drinking coffee with my friends while walking around….
still losing very slowly…. But steadily

@tostaky it's called being retired. You've more or less described my days - and I appreciate it all the time. It's just a pity that we have to work for years and years first.

@DidILeaveTheGasOn "a dopamine hit between knitting and a life of crime"? I love it! Let us know when you've found the answer, it's a pretty broad range.

Have a good a day as you can everyone - especially people with injuries and poorly pets.

GeraniumRoseblush · 30/05/2025 10:09

I've just done my first golden dose by using the syringe - was way more nervous than the first time with the pen but it was surprisingly easy. I got 0.7 out so a 2.9mg dose, just to see how I fare with a small increase as I've had decent suppression with 2.5 and don't want to tempt SEs!

So end of Week 4 and weigh day
SW 11st 12
CW 11st 3
9lbs off in 4 weeks - slow and steady 😀🐢 I've lost a human head AND a guinea pig. Was definitely not expecting the guinea pig bonus 🤣🤣

GeraniumRoseblush · 30/05/2025 10:14

@DidILeaveTheGasOn and @OhPolly sorry to hear of your woes. Fingers crossed for the doggo check-up today @OhPolly and keep on keeping on @DidILeaveTheGasOn. It's a setback but keep going one step forward.

You're so right about how we speak to our pets with such love and care, and it's good to be reminded we can do that for ourselves too 💕

PersonaNonFatta · 30/05/2025 10:17

Morning losers! W2 D1 here. Just taken 2nd 2.5 dose.
I’ve done well this week, lost 5lb, though that was a couple of days ago… I think it could have been more had I not been afflicted by The Great Constipation! I need to sort that out.

Still, I’m pleased to have lost a chihuahua!

You're going brilliantly, everyone.

cherrybobbins · 30/05/2025 10:21

W2d7 loss 5lb
total loss 11lb (ive basically not ate anything since Sunday though)

i commented on the last thread that I’ve been stuck to the loo all week, ended up missing 2 days of warm due to it, today I’m feeling better finally and actually managed to have something to eat last night. I’ve decided not to do jag 3 today simply because of how ill I’ve been all week, still not sure if it was the jag or a bug or something I’ve ate so I’m going to leave it a few days and just give my body a rest and hopefully get my fluids back up and then I’m going to do jag 3 and then hope for the best really.

LessWeightKate · 30/05/2025 10:23

A quick week 5 weigh-in before I catch up with all of your news. Thread three already -- I thought I'd lost you all! 😱

Week 5
5 ft 2.5
BMI 29
SW: 12 stone 4
CW: 11 stone 5
Total loss: 13lbs

So close to a stone!

I took a 2.9 golden dose last week, had a 2lb loss, and suppression was fine. I'll take 45 clicks from my new 5mg pen at lunchtime for another stepping stone dose, and see how that goes 🙏

Merluzzo · 30/05/2025 10:57

@PersonaNonFatta The Great Constipation! That’s hilarious and so true.

planesick · 30/05/2025 10:57

Sending positive thoughts and vibes today @OhPolly x

kiwiane · 30/05/2025 11:01

Hi - I need encouragement - I’m one week in and I’ve lost less than a pound! I feel like I’ve been eating well (whole food vegetarian / no UPFs) and less than usual but the tiredness has caused me to be less active. Has anyone else begun this way and things improved?

PandyMoanyMum · 30/05/2025 11:17

Hello, just checking in and sending love to those with injuries, side effects and poorly doggies.
We are still away on holiday, we’re camping and now visiting friends and I have found it much harder to keep fluids and fibre up although I felt I’d done well with portion control and not snacking.
However I stood on our hosts scales and I appear to have gained 8lb in a week. I hope it’s just their scales! 😭Really hoping I haven’t effed it all up. Looking forward to getting home and being back in control. Trying not to be a fun sponge but it’s hard!

AlicesMum2025 · 30/05/2025 11:49

Week 4 weigh in and I have lost 0.9kg (2lb) this week bringing me to a total loss of 6.9kg (1st 1lb). Lost 2.6 points off my BMI.

Wk1 3.3kg (7lb)
Wk2 1.8kg (4lb)
Wk3 0.9kg (2lb)
Wk4 0.9kg (2lb)

Losing this much weight in 4 weeks seems really (too?) fast but I obviously lost a lot of water weight in the first 2 weeks. I'm happier with ~1kg for the past two weeks. I'm aiming for 0.5-1kg loss per week going forward.

Took my bonus dose last night. Got 0.8ml out of the pen for 3.3mg dose. I actually preferred to use the needle rather than the pen because the longer needle went further into my belly flab 🤣

I feel OK so far today. My suppression was less in the past week because I kept wanting to graze so I'm pleased I decided to order a 5mg pen next. I'll probably do a few 3.75mg doses to see how that feels. I'd like to get the feeling of when to stop eating which I haven't had to date.

GoldieLookingBoots · 30/05/2025 12:41

Well done on your losses everyone! It’s now 36 hours after my 3rd 2.5 jab and I’m just not wanting to eat. I’ve had a banana and a protein shake for the calories. My husband left me a lovely looking couscous, beetroot and feta salad bowl. I’ve managed to eat only a tiny amount of it. My point is: yes, that’s great for weight loss, but I’m worried that will plateau if I don’t eat enough calories each day. Does that make sense to anyone? I have a long journey to go as I have a lot of weight to lose. I think I should be having around 1500 calories a day.

It’s hard sometimes when other people are losing big amounts, but we’re all different. I know I usually lose a lot in the first two weeks then it will dramatically slow down. You might be the opposite. If you’re eating a good, balanced, healthy diet it WILL come off sooner or later. Hold your nerve. Always do measurements too, because sometimes you lose inches before the scales show it. 🙂

I get what you’re saying and I agree. Hopefully your body will get used to the MJ and you will be able to eat more. And you might not need to go up a dose if it’s already had a big affect on you at 2.5.

Mounraine · 30/05/2025 13:17

Lots of warm wishes to those going through a tough time. Hope you update us before the end of the day re dog, injury and horrible side effects.

You must feel good from lifting? I think I could do with some weights.

I do! Definitely a dopamine hit between knitting and hard drug use.
