@Weightlossprincess was coming on to agree with what @WhynotJanet said about salty food - then saw you’d answered my query - thank you . Had no idea such things existed!
Hmmm, guess I’d need to show it to airport security - off to Google.

Can’t you just put it in checked baggage? Whichever you do, you should probably make sure you pack it with your prescription.

26dX · 26/05/2025 07:39

@ElsieJaymy partner is type 1 diabetic and has to carry his insulin on him otherwise they will get too cold/ freeze in hold. Never gets questioned but just take your proof of prescription x

My wedding and engagement rings!!!! God I’d love to be able to wear them again. I had them resized twice but vowed not again. I haven’t been able to get them on for at least five years…..

I'd like to take mine off! They are firmly stuck on my sausage-like finger. I don't want to remove them permanently, but would like to be able to slip them off when I feel like it.

WeaselTrap · 26/05/2025 07:46

I messed up and didn’t order til Saturday and the provider (zava) is saying 2-4 days to be approved then postal time on top. With the Bank Holiday today I don’t think my pen is going to arrive before my Friday injection window is it? Gah. Do I try and order elsewhere in addition? Or go for this ‘golden dose’ shenanigans???

Lefuzzy · 26/05/2025 07:55

Good morning! W1D2 for me. The suppression started almost instantaneously and the SE totally manageable. Lack of food noise, replaced by an odd feeling that feels like anxiety without the anxiety, if that makes any sense. Not hungry at all but forced myself to eat. Drank 3 litres of water yesterday and intend to do same today. I have the zoe app and am eating healthily but still struggling to get the optimal amounts of protein and fibre. Didn’t have dinner until quite late last night as was too busy gardening, both which have been a rare occurrence in last few years. Had a terrible sleep because I was aching from all the gardening.

Mounraine · 26/05/2025 08:12

Welcome to newbies and commiserations to @BerfyTigot Flowers
I think I need to start reminding myself about the financial cost of this. A few days a go I had some biscuits and last night half a Chinese takeaway. It just slows my weight-loss down and will be adding on weeks at the other end of the process.

Has anyone estimated their end date? My forecasting is suggesting I'll hit 10st 7lb in early October. That'll mean about £900 before I think about titrating down.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 26/05/2025 08:25

I try not to think about it being an escalating cost, but rather a monthly cost. One pen costs the same as a weekly shop because of how everything is so expensive now.
It's a life raft.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 26/05/2025 08:32

WK3D2 and it's weigh in day.

Lost 11lbs so far, or an average house cat! Love the list of weights.

I can't tag on my phone but will try - wanted to say hello to @Ohpolly and welcome. So sorry for your loss.
@berfytigot It made me sad reading your post. So sorry it's been so awful.

ElsieJay · 26/05/2025 08:36

@Lefuzzy and @26dX - thank you . If I take what I call “the kit” with me, it will be in hand luggage.

@SussexLass87 - loved the list! I’m now sooooo looking forward to telling people I’ve lost an elephant’s penis……🤣🤣 🐘 🍆

Cucumberinginplease · 26/05/2025 08:39

Morning all

@OhPolly so sorry for your loss💐 and welcome! a wedding! When? We need details 👏💒

Well, holiday hasn't derailed me so far. I'm not particularly 'clean' eating at main meals, but and eating much smaller portions and managing normal yoghurt, fruit, salad etc at breakfast and lunch. No desire for icecream and cakes and movie night was sans popcorn for me, hooray!

@Mounraine if I loose my aimed 2-3 lb a week, I should be at my target by mid to late August. A bit like @DidILeaveTheGasOn I'm trying to look at it as the investment in me, long term rather than a total cost. Although I have to say, I am aware of the financial impact.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 26/05/2025 08:39

W2D1 I lost 5.8lbs in week one. That included a weekend away with a few glasses of wine and an ice cream on the beach. Overall SE have been ok. I still feel hungry and think about food but just find it much easier to eat less and make better choices. The sugar cravings are definitely much less. I’m am impressed with the medication and injecting is no problem and virtually painless.

SW 98.40kg
CW 95.75kg
target 67kg

a few years ago I got down to 80kg and felt so much better for it. So that is my interim target and would take me out of obese category. Here’s to week 2.

SaintAgatha · 26/05/2025 08:43

@SussexLass87 I love the list! I think I’ve lost a chihuahua. 😅 I’ve been derailed a bit by constipation but I’m excited to be at the mid-size microwave stage in the near future.

Mounraine · 26/05/2025 08:54

It's interesting that people feel they're saving money. My half of the monthly food bill is about £200 - £250, so I'm definitely not saving money. (I wonder if part of this is that I don't really drink alcohol?). I still consider the £900 well-spent.

Apprenante · 26/05/2025 09:06

I'm not saving on the weekly food bill but I'm saving on eating out of the house. Previously I'd have a sandwich and a coffee if I was out for the day and now I take with me a box of salad and protein and water . As those trips could be 2 or three times a week I reckon that's £20 or £30 saved. And I truly like my salads better - just have to get used to pre-planning.

Apprenante · 26/05/2025 09:08

@OhPolly I'm sorry for your loss.

TreesOfGreen99 · 26/05/2025 09:29

“ I’ve lost an elephants penis” surely a hot contender for the next thread title
😂

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 26/05/2025 09:29

I'm not sure I'm saving money, although I did spend a shopping £400 a MONTH on booze before. Sickening really. Too late now.

I think it's more that if you turned up at my door and said, I can wave a magic wand that'll take you from a size 18 to a size 10-12 right now for the princely sum of £900, I'd say yes please.

MorrowTreasure · 26/05/2025 09:30

Wk3 Day1 jab day was yesterday and last couple of weeks have felt no different than normal. Have lost about 1lb since losing 4lbs in first week from initial side effects that lasted 3 days. Thinking about bringing my 4th dose up a couple of days this/next week to get to 5mg more quickly as really nothing happening. I am eating more mindfully and definitely healthier so that’s good but difficult to keep the calorie intake low when I’m hungry and feel snacky all the time-especially as it’s half term! Anyway hoping for some results next month 🤞

AlohaRose · 26/05/2025 10:22

Finally joining in, having been watching these threads and dithering about starting for months! I started last Friday and so far so good although I've been home alone for the weekend so it remains to be seen how I feel when DH is back and there's more food and possibly alcohol on offer.

I ordered from Livewell and have six stone to lose – really not sure how it got to this stage. Anyway the only side-effect so far has been that I feel dizzy when I get out of bed first thing in the morning but it clears up quickly.

Can anyone explain to me about this bonus dose that everyone speaks about? I've only been sent four needles with the pen so I presume even if there was liquid left at the end of the fourth dose, I have no means of being able to use it anyway?

Yes I would try for the golden dose. But you need the medical grade syringes to do it. I'm going to try and get mine out tomorrow to see if it works OK.

I too love that list. It does help visualize the weight loss.

I've lost an average housecat.

I also look up the amounts of lbs in fat images and that is quite sobering as well but provides good motivation.

lissie123 · 26/05/2025 10:44

Good morning everyone
Has anyone been experiencing some strange side effects? I haven’t drunk any alcohol in three weeks now and can honestly say this is the best thing that has happened to me.
However I now seem to have a heightened sense of smell. My DH had one beer the other night and I could smell his breath from some distance and it made me feel queasy. Very odd.

Also my facial hair on my top lip (tmi!) doesn’t grow back as quickly-weird.

26dX · 26/05/2025 10:48

I done my “golden dose”(ick) today and was fine! Syringes just over 6ml and pushed anything out up to the 6ml. The needle was a tiny bit tougher to push in but nothing crazy!

Merluzzo · 26/05/2025 10:50

Good morning everyone
I love that weight loss list, I’ve lost a human head.

Thinking about the golden dose, I’ve seen you order additional needles that don’t come with the pen, are they normal syringes? I’m not sure I could cope with that, the tiny MJ needles are fine but anything larger I might faint due to needle phobia!

Also, so sorry for your loss @OhPolly

Merluzzo · 26/05/2025 10:54

Cross post with @26dX . Blimey, that sounds hard core with the needles.
